After 8 months of being continually charged, I called and was met with disrespect, nasty attitudes, and no resolve. There are no managers there, and the teenagers they hire to work there have the most atrocious attitudes. Nicholas Carter is one of the worst customer service reps I have ever encountered. My elderly…read moremother called this Moving Company to help her move my 89 year old father and herself out of their two bedroom one bath townhome. They had two mattresses, no bedroom furniture and kitchen furniture. They had gotten rid of all their living room furniture. They were quoted that it would take two hours. When the movers got to their home, they took over three hours to just move. Then when she went to call, she was quoted $1500 for her move because 7 hours and moving supplies were being charged. They added an additional four hours plus $250 for packing material even though she had taped all of her own boxes. After telling them she couldn't pay he "discounted "down to $900. On top of these charges, they charge $90 for storage for the month. They also lied to her during the initial call that she could go to the storage and take items out as needed when it was time to pick up the items. Four weeks later they asked her for another $250 to pick up the items. According to them the $250 was for them to Pull out the storage bins. After an hour of discussions, he agreed to $100 to pick up items.Today we Hired movers to help us move these items from the storage. I followed Nicholas's recommendation to call 30 minutes ahead so the pallets would be out by the time we got there. Once I arrived with the movers, the pallets were still not out however it took less than five minutes for the associate to go get the boxes out. They were trying to charge us $250 for that. As the movers were opening up the pallet, we found rat droppings in our pallets and our LED TVs were packed upside down which could damage the tvs. Also, the only items that were wrapped by the movers were our two mattresses and a table. According to Nick they had used 12 packs of tape to cover those 4 items. Nicolas Carter refuses to discount any charges even though we had rats damage boxes. Also he is claiming we still owe him another $187. he states that even if we submit a claim about the rat droppings and the upside down TV that we won't receive any refund because we still owe money. So the thousand dollars that we paid so far for a move from Curry Ford to Robinson Street which took our mover 30 minutes to load into a truck is still not enough to put in a claim for rats that chewed through our boxes and had droppings all over our furniture. I highly recommend to not use these movers. They use scam tactics.

Today, I lost my storage unit virginity. And I'm sure glad it was with this place!…read more First, I have to say that I knew exactly which storage spot to take my stuff. Yes, this place is literally located on the street I live on, but that's not why. No, the truth is that I wanted to support this Public Storage spot because of the effort that was clearly put in to making it look great on the street. The facade on Mills (yes, right up to the street *the urban planning nerd in me squeals with delight!*) is actually very pretty, with faux second story windows and attractive trim. I mentioned it to the manager, Laura, and she said that they definitely made an effort to make it blend in with the pretty, ornate homes in the neighborhood. Remember- this is a storage place! I'm used to rows of ugly, one story, garage-looking buildings and here is a multi-story building, with rear parking, that takes the neighborhood design context into account. UM, am I dreaming?!? OK, I'll move on. Laura, whom I mentioned during my nerdy digression, was extremely friendly and made sure that I not only had a first-story unit, but that it was close to the front (I'm tiny and looked ridiculous carrying all of my boxes in). The only things to keep in mind are that 1- you are required to get insurance on the storage unit totaling a minimum of $11/month in addition to the rental rate, and 2- there's a 'merchandise' total of $19.16 added for the lock and key (I didn't realize that this would be an additional fee) and an admin fee of $23.43.
