Regardless of the size of the move, Moving by Marcus exceeded our expectations! The crew did an incredible job, and we're so grateful for such a seamless experience! Once again, thank you, Lucille and Carol read more

I would not recommend this moving company based on my experience. The packing was rushed and done poorly, which left me very disappointed with the quality of the move. Before the move, Barry told me the crew would remove and dispose of the furniture we didn't want at no additional charge. However, when the crew arrived, they initially refused to take the furniture and later tried to charge me to move those unwanted items. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. After the move was completed, the owner, Marcus, called me and went on a profanity laden tirade even though I had not spoken with him at all during the moving process. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, I felt I was treated with disrespect and hostility. Overall, the poor communication, attempting to not honor what was promised, rushed work, and unprofessional customer service made this an extremely negative experience. I hope this review helps other customers know what to expect before choosing this company. read more

Lack of attention to detail. I called Barry 2-3 times asking how many furniture blankets I would need. He always said he didn't have my paperwork in front of me and would call or text with info. Never did. Most of my wood furniture had rub marks stain removed in places. A Portuguese chest had the stain rubbed raw in several places. Was not wrapped well then not placed in the truck well. One guy was slow and took a lot of breaks. Would have been better off with 3 guys instead of 4. The guy loading the truck didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I do not recommend. read more

My husband and I bought some furniture out of state and needed help moving it out of the UHaul, unpacking, and then moving the sofa and love seat into our house. We made the call Wednesday morning and by 9:30 Fernando & John were at our house. Both were very professional, careful, and moved quickly. When they were done, they offered to take the packing material with them for disposal. I would recommend them and use them again. read more

I can't recommend Moving by Marcus enough! After my original mover canceled on me last minute, Marcus stepped in and got everything set up within a day and a half, including coordinating my move from Clearwater, Florida to Illinois, was a lifesaver. He was extremely responsive, helpful, and clear throughout the entire process. The pricing was very reasonable and there were no surprise upcharges at the end of the move, which I have experienced with several other movers. What I was quoted is what I paid, which is not always the case with movers. The entire crew was courteous, professional, and took great care of my belongings. They worked efficiently, were respectful of my space, and made a stressful situation feel manageable. If you want a reliable mover who actually does what they say they'll do, Moving by Marcus is the real deal. I would absolutely use them again. read more

Outstanding experience! Highly recommended! The move went twice as quickly as I planned. The movers were professional, careful with our items, and did a great job helping us fit all of our items in a small storage unit. We definitely got our money's worth! read more

Everyone was quick and efficient, and they were careful with our belongings. Highly recommend!

They were great! The workers were very careful in handling our furniture. Highly recommend Moving By Marcus!

Not professional or responsible. They broke our sofa and large flat screen TV in our move. They took our work order over the phone and failed to disclose their no-insurance policy or anything else for that matter. Just took our money and broke our valuables and won't stand by anything. read more

Give Marcus a call for all your moving needs! I had Marcus and his crew unload a trailer full of my fiancées belongings on a Saturday morning in September! Marcus and his crew unloaded the full trailer and moved all my fiancées belongings into an upstairs condo in about 45 minutes! His crew was punctual and showed up just before 7am! This made my fiancées move into my condo a great experience! Price is great! Marcus is great with communication and planning your move! read more

If I could give a 10-star review, I would. Not only is Marcus' team professional but super chill and kind human beings. They go the extra mile to ensure your move is a smooth one. I had a few glitches with scheduling and Marcus was quick to find a solution. Despite how busy these guys are, Marcus' responded quickly to my ever-changing plans. The team were super cool, professional, on-time, reliable, and (most importantly) these chaps move your items with great care and speed. Marcus is Bloomington raised, so knows the area well and can also offer suggestions on local folks to hire for various needs. A great resource, to boot. All-around just really great guys. Hire them immediately! read more

Fast, dependable, and not expensive. One of the best moving composites I've ever used, and I've moved many times. Highly recommend.

Professional, responsive, personable, careful, efficient. They will be my first call for future moving help in BloNo

We are so thankful that we went with Moving by Marcus when moving my son to a third floor apartment! The guys showed up on time and got right to work. They were fast and efficient. They even loaded a shelf into my vehicle for me and carried the case of water I bought upstairs! They had to fully dismantle a desk and put it back together but did it in record time! I cant say enough positive about our experience! We never could have made the move without them! read more

We used Moving by Marcus to pack a four bedroom home for a move from Illinois to Arizona. After seeing all of the negative reviews for the national movers, we opted to use U-Pack which has a great track record, but required us to find an expert at packing one of their trailers. U-Pack uses ABF for transport. The biggest knock on ABF is their trailers aren't equipped with air ride suspensions, leading to a rougher ride. This is what makes expert packing essential to prevent repeated jarring, jolts, and shifting..etc. We're nearly done with unpacking post-move and amazingly not one of our items is broken or damaged. They even knew the proper way to pack a tempurpedic mattress to prevent damage. Obviously communication, punctuality were top notch also. Don't hesitate to use Moving by Marcus. They are the best on the business. read more

They did a fantastic job moving my partner. It was in a 3rd floor walk-up, with several heavy items but they made it work easily and efficiently. The four men were on-time, professional and took great care with all of my items. From my frst outreach, to the end of the job, it was a top notch experience. In addition they gave great referrals for a U-Haul and provided all the supplies needed for the interstate move. I will highly recommend them to anyone needing to move. read more

Moving by Marcus did a great job for us for our move to MN. We got to see them in action before the move while we were downsizing - they moved a dining room set with a china hutch that we sold locally. It was impressive. We decided to use UPACK to save money. I booked 2 months in advance. Marcus responded quickly to text messages and by phone to help me prepare for our big move to MN by informing me how many moving blankets and tie down straps to purchase in advance. (and recommendations where to buy them). When the day arrived, they came promptly on time and packed the truck high and tight! We just had movers unload our trailer in MN and everything is in good shape! Thanks Moving by Marcus, I highly recommend your services! read more

Great experience with Marcus. Showed up on time with crew of three. Got right to work. Used moving blankets to protect our belongings. Everyone hustled and got us loaded up very quickly. Drove to the new location, no stops and got right to it there also. Great service, very nice friendly guys. Would definitely recommend and use again! read more

Marcus had his team help me move again. They took care of my things and made sure items were packed well in the truck and in the storage unit. This isn't my first time using Moving by Marcus either, abs both times I was very pleased with the communication and efficiency. Thanks to you Marcus and your team. read more

I highly recommend these guys! They gave us a two hour window of when they'd show up and got here quite punctually at the very first hour they quoted us for. They were also excellent at following instructions of what to move and where to put it at our new house. They all worked hard from the moment they got to our old house to the moment they left the new one. If we ever need to move anything again, we will be sure to use Marcus and his crew! read more

We had Marcus unload our (2) moving vans on Monday. We moved from Texas, and used U-Pack to move everything to Bloomington. Marcus and his crew unload both 28 foot trailers in just under six hours. They were very efficient, and never took a break. They were very careful with all of my property, and showed that they are experts at what they do. I highly recommend them for any of your moving needs, and would use them every time I need a mover in the future. read more

We used them to move from an apartment to a house and they were everything we could have hoped for. They were very efficient at loading the truck and unloading it. All the movers were chill and easy going. Moving can be really stressful and exhausting, hiring them saved us a ton of energy and stress. They are definitely the choice professionals to hire for moving. read more

Wow how did I not do this already? Hired Marcus and company to pack our rental truck for a one-way move. Polite, honest, prompt, and funny. Brought great help for the day of the move. Was a little skeptical that we could fit everything in our house into the 20' truck, but he and his workers were good enough at Box Tetris to make it work. Everything was unpacked safe and sound on the other end. He will be the first person I recommend for anyone needing moving in Bloomington and Normal. read more

Awesome experience! The movers were very nice, professional. Excellent price - half what other companies wanted. Highly recommend.

Daughter used them to move, can not say enough about their customer service and willingness to work with her on changes that could not be helped!! read more

These guys are seriously the bomb! We have called on Marcus twice with short notice. Both times, we got great, friendly service at a great price. The first time, we were moving long distance and needed a truck unloaded. We called the day before and he was able to accommodate us. He and his team member arrived and got straight to work. They unloaded a crammed full 17' truck in no time and were SO nice! He was also able to give us some info about the area, which was really helpful. The second time, we were moving from one apartment to another and scheduled a couple of days ahead of time for them to load/unload a truck that we rented. Marcus actually remembered where we lived and who we were. That's SO refreshing these days when customer service is rare. Speaking of customer service - or lack thereof - U-Haul actually messed up and our truck wasn't available, so Marcus rearranged things and brought his own truck and trailer to move us. The apartment that we moved to was on the third floor, but that didn't stop him and his teammate from getting everything upstairs quickly and in one piece. I've moved many times and dealt with many movers. I haven't come across any that are even half as flexible, friendly and willing to go the extra mile as Marcus and his crew. If we ever need help or anyone to move something for us, he will definitely be the one we call! read more

I began looking for movers on Thursday for a move on Sunday afternoon. I found him listed on Yelp and saw a few positive reviews, so we decided to give it a shot. Marcus's team was the only group of movers available on Sunday, and he had no problem accepting the job at such relatively short notice. The job was to move a large three-person wood frame leather sofa, two oversized plush chairs (part of a set with the couch), and a queen-size mattress. These items had to be moved up to the third floor via an unusually narrow stairway. Marcus and his team were much faster than we had ever expected, and the whole job was done in ten minutes without a scratch. Moreover, Marcus was very personable, making the dreaded experience of moving pain-free and extremely fast (and our finances weren't stressed, either). We were very impressed and will absolutely call on Marcus and his team again if more moving needs arise. read more

Moving By Marcus - They also brought these and a queen-size mattress upstairs. Together with the couch, less than ten minutes, flat. - Movers Near Me

They were on time worked diligently. The crew leader was phenomenal. They worked for about nine hours to get us packed and unloaded with only a few breaks. They came back at no charge to finish moving an awkward and heavy treadmill. Just a pleasure to work with. I would use them again without an estimate. Very fair pricing. read more

The team did a wonderful job quickly loading up my belongings. Marcus recommended a cheaper way yo move than PODs or Uhaul that saved me so much money. I highly recommend! read more

Can't recommend enough! We contacted Marcus the night before our move after our final walk through revealed a lot of extra work that was needed prior to moving our things. This delay caused us to lose any help we had lined up...and he was able to get a team together to help us out even though we are located outside his normal coverage area. They were polite and very efficient! Thank you for making the move so much less stressful!! read more

Spoke with someone from the moving company on a Friday and asked if they could assemble a bunk bed and possibly a desk. I was asked how soon this needed to be done. I told them, as soon as possible, if possible. Two men came out the following Saturday morning. One of them stated they did not feel comfortable assembling a bunk bed and that someone else would come the next day or sometime during the week. It has been a week and no one ever came; I never received a follow-up phone call. I'm fairly disappointed. read more

Marcus and his team are AMAZING. They work with you the whole way through; we moved from LA to Bloomington, IL and used the UHAUL UPACK boxes. We got shafted by our original movers who flaked at the last minute. Then, the UHAUL woman wouldn't give us a clear time as to when she'd deliver the boxes. Marcus and his team stepped up in the our needing hour and communicated with us the whole way through. After the UHAUL woman wouldn't deliver in time, Marcus kindly rescheduled with us to come the following morning. He and his team were prompt, efficient, and kind. They are strong, capable, and moved everything we needed. They even figured out how to get our crazy couch in and up the stairs. Marcus is also funny to boot! He gave us local food recommendations since we're new to town and offered to help us with any future furniture deliveries we need. Marcus is the best! Hire him immediately! read more
