Absolutely the worst business. Booking the move was the only good part, pleasant on the phone,…read morewent over a detailed list of the stuff we had. I even called back and added some major items to the list so they would be prepared. I asked if they come and look first, no, no need for that, we are all set. ok? I said this is a large move they were going to send two trucks and four guys and I wanted to get going early, so 7 am was the time. They call the night before (Monday), they wanted to start at 8am instead "because we have a large move and the guys are tired", sure come at 8 but be ready. So moving day comes and we have our beds taken apart, a ton of boxes and we are waiting... now they are like 13 minutes away on google maps, but it took them about 30 just to show up, and with only one truck? So the head guy ( I guess since he had a clipboard) comes in and looks around and immediately goes outside to get on the phone. No second crew shows up either, what is going on? So this guy finally comes back and just says 'we refuse to move you' like that's a thing? Said we have too much stuff, that's the job! Just refused...and left. That's it. No call from Kenney's, nothing. Worst ever. They should be out of business to do this to people. Website says they take the stress out of moving, total crap, I have hardly ever had more stress. And then having to arrange another mover (see my other review, was actually a great experience). Obviously these guys don't want to work and wanted a day off I guess, whatever. Can tell they don't have vested interest in their job which is to move families. Pro tip-= I should have read these reviews on Yelp because I would have know what we were in for! They have been in business over 70 years, but it won't be many more with the crappy way they run things. Avoid Kenney's at all costs and tell all your friends and relatives the same. Terrible.

It's been a year since I've used their service to load a Penske truck and I'm just now at the point…read morewhere I can write the review without vomiting four letter words all over the page. We packed all of our items into boxes but decided to hire movers to load the truck for various reasons: 1) we thought they would be faster 2) we thought they would be more efficient 3) We thought they tetris the boxes better 4) Boxes are heavy :) 5) we have two little kids that could get under foot, so my wife could leave early and I would follow her in the truck After calling a couple of places we decided on Kenny's as they appeared to be the cheapest and were the most local. They quoted us that it would take approximately 3 hours (they charged by the hour) and they would arrive between 8-10am. 10am rolled around and they did not show up. After a few phone calls we figured out they were finishing another job and would be there around 11. They arrived at noon and you could tell were completely exhausted and worn out, I felt awful for them. Anyway they started loading and after about an hour I could tell this was going to take a long time so I started carrying boxes myself. They finished around 5pm nearly doubling the cost of the movers. I had a long drive ahead of me and was expecting to be on the road much earlier plus I'm now exhausted having worked for most of the day even though I was paying someone to do it for me. As we were loading, I kept noticing things that looked off, for example they put my table in the truck and loaded boxes under and on top of it. I told them it would be better to flip the table (it was just a cheap ikea table) and stack stuff on top of it. They also loaded boxes onto my couch. They assured me they knew what they were doing and everything would be fine. When we got to our destination, the table had collapsed, the couch had 6 holes in it. Not a single piece of furniture was undamaged. The amount of damage caused by the careless way they loaded my truck could have easily paid for a full service moving company that would have packed and moved my stuff. Anyway I was extremely unhappy with their service and hope this review helps prevent someone else from making the same mistake I made.

Ours was delivered last week by two men, one of which was extremely rude to me and my family members as soon as they arrived (2 hours late). Complained about the job, accused us of being unprepared (took off work and moved stove and cabinetry out of kitchen). He was referring to our need to remove the doors of the fridge to get it in the house -we told Menards we would need to do this and they assured us it would be no problem. His partner left during the delivery because "time is money". He tried to do it alone and nearly dropped the fridge and then he dented our stove with the old one. We asked him to please call his partner back and he said that the waiver I signed meant he could "damage whatever he wanted". Repeatedly said "I should leave this on your front porch" and "you're lucky I'm still here". Demanded extra cash on top of what we prepaid. Ultimately the partner (who was kind and apologetic) returned and they were able to bring it in no problem. My husband did at least 50% of the work bringing in doors and removing the old fridge while he sat on his phone and complained. We asked them to leave without installing because of his behavior and attitude. Menards refunded us and said they have had similar complaints before. Will never hire or recommend. I feel bad for the apologetic partner, he probably could've done a good job without the other guy!

Disappointing Experience with Peoria Team, Madison Team Was Great…read more I recently moved from Peoria, IL to Madison, WI on Monday, 2/2/26 using Two Men and a Truck, and unfortunately the experience was very mixed. The Peoria team was a major letdown. They arrived late and did not provide the level of service that was agreed upon. Several pieces of furniture -- some over 40 years old -- were supposed to be properly wrapped and protected, and that simply did not happen. As a result, multiple items were damaged. When the Madison movers unloaded the truck, they immediately noted that the truck had not been loaded correctly, which they confirmed likely caused the damage. In contrast to Peoria, the Madison crew was professional, careful, and communicative. One especially concerning issue: an open knife was left on top of a couch inside the truck. Had the Madison movers not noticed it in time, someone could have been seriously injured. This shows a serious lack of care and safety awareness by the Peoria team. I've been trying to resolve these issues with the Peoria home office, but responses have been slow and unhelpful so far, which has only added to the frustration. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend using another service, or at the very least avoiding the Peoria location. The Madison team did their best to fix a bad situation, but the damage was already done.

They came out and looked at all we wanted moved and listed it all and gave us a good estimate. We had a couple weeks to change items (some ended up selling with the house) and with those changes in place we awaited moving day. I don't know how to explain how great these guys were. They wrapped our items so nicely in blankets to avoid any damage. They were friendly and personable and way nicer to my 14yr old that kept asking them questions than they had to be. They didn't even grumble when I asked them to rearrange items when they got to the new house because I changed my mind where they should go. Best of all they moved a 300lb safe from a basement to another basement and tried their darnedest to get a standing freezer into the new house basement (unfortunately the logistics just didn't work). Estimate came in a lot lower than we expected too. I would recommend them again in a heartbeat !!!

Thankfully, Stevenson made these very stressful processes far less so by being a dream to work with. Blindly searching for a long-distance mover is always a gamble, but Stevenson had good reviews and their office staff, Angie and Lorna, were very communicative and quick to respond when I first inquired about working with them. Before the first move, someone came to assess our place and what we were planning on moving in order to provide a very accurate estimate. Due to this level of service, we decide to hire them for our move. In the time leading up to the move, their office was on top of everything, reaching out to me to confirm addresses, times, loading dock access, etc. before I could even worry about chasing them down to coordinate logistics. On the day of the move, their foreman, Kevin, was right on time with a crew of movers who quickly got to work wrapping our furniture and loading up the truck. At no point did we see anyone being reckless with our belongings or feel like they were stalling to get more hours in. We took a few days to drive out to Colorado, and Kevin (who was driving the truck) was available via text or phone the whole time. He was at our new place exactly when he said he would be, and the new crew he was working with on this end quickly unloaded the truck and set up everything to our specifications. When we decided to move back to Chicago I was worried Stevenson wouldn't be available for our move as they are not based in Colorado and I would have to do the blind search for movers all over, but I took a chance and reached out to ask, and they were more than happy to move us again and didn't charge us anything extra for not originating in Chicago this time. We even had Kevin as our foreman again, who remembered us and was just as great to work with a second time around. Everything with the second move went just as smoothly as the first one, from the office staff communicating and coordinating to the moving crew doing the heavy lifting. Now that we are back in Chicago to stay, we plan to use Stevenson for any local moves we may do in the future. But hopefully not for at least a couple of years; we've had enough moving adventures to last us a while.

Everything went very well until the move was completed. We were promised a credit amount within two weeks after the move. I spoke to Todd M the manager who said they did a reassessment and couldn't honor the credit they had promised which was $200 lower. I again demanded the credit amount that we were promised and provide him with the invoice we had already paid and the credit amount they originally promised. After getting upset with them we finally got Todd to keep his commitment and issue us the amount that was promised. Will I recommend them? I'm not sure they can be trusted. Watch out when they owe you a credit. Keep all your documents and insist they give you the credit refund they promise.

The bottom line: I'll never do business with Allied, and I recommend that others do not. Due to their representative's behavior, I cannot consider Allied to be a reputable organization.

Dominique and Dayquan amazed me with how quickly they were able to gather everything and put it in my POD-- finishing earlier than the 2 hours I had initially scheduled! That's where the moment of supporting small businesses became truly apparent. When I asked if they could take my cat's completely destroyed cat tree to the dumpster given that they had finished early, they didn't hesitate to do so at all, no questions asked, and completed it in under 10 minutes. I had been dreading this task because it would have taken me several hours minimum to complete due to chronic pain. While it was just another day at work for Dominque and Dayquan, between the POD packing and trashing the cat tree, it took a huge weight off of my shoulders that had been stressing me out for weeks. In short: know that We Like To Move It is a great company that you can trust to take care of you at a very reasonable price.
