What happened to me felt like a complete bait-and-switch. I was quoted an attractive rate of $169 and was told I was receiving a "special price." At NO point during the booking process was I clearly informed that my final bill could suddenly become $700+ because of additional charges. Had those costs been properly disclosed upfront, I would have NEVER booked this company. And this was not some huge, complicated move. I was moving out of a small efficiency, only 15 minutes away, with approximately **6 boxes, 3 bins of clothes, a bed frame and mattress, and a dresser. That was essentially it. The part that bothered me most was WHEN the real price was presented to me. It wasn't clearly explained before the move, when I still had the opportunity to make an informed decision and hire someone else. It was during the move, when I was handed an iPad and suddenly looking at a bill of over $700. Think about how awful of a position that puts a customer in. Your move is already underway, your belongings are involved, and now you're being told you have to pay hundreds of dollars more than you were prepared for in order to continue. What happens to someone who only has the amount they reasonably expected to pay in their account? I understand that moving companies can have additional fees. That is NOT my complaint. My complaint is the lack of transparency BEFORE booking. If there are transportation fees, labor minimums, materials, travel time, service charges, or anything else that can turn a $169 advertised/special rate into a $700+ bill, tell the customer clearly before they agree to the move. I budgeted for this move based on what was communicated to me. I should not have had to discover the true cost when I was already in the middle of moving. Please do not let an attractive hourly rate or "special price" be the only thing you rely on when booking this company. Get the FULL estimated total IN WRITING, ask for every possible additional charge, and do not allow the move to begin until you understand exactly what you may be responsible for paying. My experience left me feeling completely misled, blindsided, and taken advantage of. I would never knowingly agree to pay $700+ to move the small amount of belongings I had just 15 minutes away. If that had been communicated honestly from the beginning, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Transparency should happen before a customer's belongings are on the truck. not after they're already committed to the move.

I was only able to reserve my building's elevator for three hours, from 12 to 3. They had all of my packing done and finished the whole move within that window, right in line with the time estimated. They took special care with my things and not one item was broken. They were also flexible and accommodating every time I asked to change things up and see furniture pieces in different places. It was not submitted for the delivery building, despite the fact that we reminded you about it twice before the move. When we arrived, management confirmed they had never received it. We even tried to negotiate with management to see whether they would allow the move without the COI, but they understandably refused. Second, your movers arrived approximately 40 minutes late, not 15 minutes late. Their arrival time is documented by photographs as well as timestamped messages sent at the time. There was also no construction-related delay as described in your response. The primary issue at the delivery building was that the required COI had not been submitted, which prevented us from bringing our belongings into the building. Your description of what happened afterward is also inaccurate. No crew returned the next day. You told us that you had no movers available next day. The following days were the weekend. Your crew was then supposed to return on Monday but no one showed up. We were communicating directly with your movers, who told us they could not come because they did not have a truck. No crew came to the storage facility and no one was waiting there for an access code as you now claim. In fact, after all of this happened, you stopped responding to our messages entirely. What is most disappointing is not only the way this move was handled, but that instead of acknowledging what went wrong, your response attempts to shift responsibility to the customer and presents a version of events that directly contradicts the documented communications. I have records of the COI issue, the movers' actual arrival time, our repeated messages to your company, and the conversations with your crew regarding the lack of a truck. I am comfortable providing that documentation if necessary.
