I have used these guys twice now. Charlie's the owner (I believe) and he's great. Flynn is another "main guy" and he's also good to work with. My teeny complaint, and it's not even worth changing my rating, is that they prefer phone calls as their means of communicating as opposed to email or text, which sometimes don't get responded too as fast. But! They make up die that small inconvenience by delivering reliable teams of movers who are responsible, timely, friendly, understanding and fast. They also offer a generous cash discount which I appreciate. I had to move my elderly father from one assisted living apartment to another and I wasn't sure WHAT we were all going to find when we walked in to my dad's current apartment. I had a feeling it would be a mess and it was. The two men from MOVING AT EASE were completely understanding and just got right to work. They didn't miss a beat and they ignored the mess and had kind words to say about my dad's situation and never made me feel embarrassed or more sad than I already was about having to move him. We were required to use Moving At Ease due to the pandemic when my mom was moved home after an extended stay in a nursing home. While the move-in was uneventful, they managed to lose one of only 6 pieces of furniture she had with her when they moved her back home. I understand things get lost, but their response has been "oh well, stuff happens" even after I told them the piece had been in the family for 4 generations. Our family was forced to use this company and unfortunately we are unable to recommend them to anyone else. read more

I used Moving at Ease for an out-of-state move. And realized that it best to have your own moving insurance, because moving companies like this one does not support you through any damages. I found the customer service to be poor after my move. They stood by the excuse that I signed off on the moving invoice with final payment and therefore they were not responsible. Then they quoted their insurance policy to have an eight-day grace period, which they failed to produce a copy of the insurance policies guideline. They basically dropped the ball. Before they do a long distance move, they store the furniture in a warehouse, which could be harmful for wooden furniture especially during the Summer. Good Luck! read more

This was the smoothest, quickest, and easiest move that we have ever had. The Moving at Ease team showed up on time, hustled to get the job done, and moved all of our pieces with immense care. They were friendly and fun. We even had them move around one of our heaviest pieces in the dining room a few times because we couldn't find the perfect spot and they gladly did it with a smile on their face. We interviewed 5 different moving companies and we are so happy that we chose Moving at Ease. We needed a lot of help packing and this crew was fabulous! They packed everything from towels to My Grandmothers China and it was all done beautifully! My husband and I agreed that we had never met such hard working men (and women who did the packing). These guys were loading and unloading trucks in 107 degree heat and I never heard one complaint. They were all fun, respectful and willing to rearrange furniture multiple times without the slightest bit of hesitation. This sounds crazy, but I almost hated to see them go after move in day ~ after all how many movers would go the extra mile to capture a family of bats (living behind a piece of artwork on front porch), and install a new plug on my dryer? I had hired Moving At Ease based on a friend's recommendation and boy, she was right, these guys are amazing! Two movers, Brandon and John, showed up on time with all their equipment and started moving us out of a 1 bedroom. They were very personable, professional and took extreme care of our goods, almost as if they were their own. We moved into a high-rise and had to deal with elevator congestion, but even with that, Brandon and John managed to get all of our things into the new place, without damage and within an hour of arrival; despite it being 106º. I am supremely pleased with the expertise, professionalism, speed and efficiency. Dan was extremely quick to respond to my inquiry for moving services. He provided me a detailed quote within minutes of our call, and it was an easy process to book. I received confirmation emails and texts, as well as a call with Dan the day prior to our move. The day of our move went smoothly: we were notified via text when the moving team was 20 minutes out and they quickly (very quickly) got to work. They carefully wrapped and packed all of our furniture and were very pleasant to work with. I have used them twice. Once to move Mom to assisted living and the 2nd time to move just one couch for my Mom. They specialize in small moves, especially for the elderly. Even though the move is small, they are happy to do it and very fairly priced. They really take care to protect the furniture. Some of my Mom's stuff was in really bad shape but they still treated like it was worth a fortune. They answer the phone, are very responsive and kept me informed on timing and arrival. I have updated my review based on a conversation with the owner. As an almost condition of getting a partial refund ($135 back on a $764 bill), I agreed to update my review. Dan, the owner, seemed concerned about the companies image and wanted to ensure I would change my review. I respect his desire to grow his small business and wish him well. While I appreciate his wanting to set things right, a small refund doesn't fix my broken belongings, chipped and scratched furniture, or the events from the day as a whole. I have updated my review from 2 to 4 stars. Though, I feel 4 is overly generous. I stand by my words below, so I have chosen to leave it below as originally written for those interested. ********** I wouldn't recommend this company. I hired a 3 man crew, yet somehow 4 showed up (though 1 showed up late). The 4th guy worked about half as hard as the others and took numerous breaks. Yet, I was still charged for him as though he was there the entire time. I was never asked when they arrived if I agreed to pay for the 4th man (naive me assumed since I hired 3, and the fourth wasn't there the whole time, that he was just a bonus). It started out alright. They were all nice enough, but by the end they were dropping boxes and being pretty rough with our things. As I now am getting unpacked, most boxes that I labeled FRAGILE, have broken items - the bubble wrap wasn't enough for the unnecessary roughness. Most furniture is scratched up or chipped now. I gave two stars because one of the guys worked his butt off and never stopped - he primary put beds and such back together, but he wasn't rough when moving boxes. If not for him, I'd give one star. Overall, it seemed to take forever (9 am - 2 pm to move the contents of a 1100 sq ft home). I feel I was over charged and the crew didn't care about my belongings. Spare yourself the trouble and hire someone else - I've used other movers in the past and never spent this much or had anything break. read more

This is a great moving company - reliable, timely and took good care of my belongings. I was forced to reschedule my move on very short notice, and they were extremely understanding and flexible - totally worked with me. On moving day, they came right on time and were very efficient. The only slight issue was that I have a brand new dining room table which is not large, but EXTREMELY heavy and I live on a second floor. The two men who came to move me told me they were concerned they couldn't get the table down safely on their own. They contacted the office who then had two more men come within an hour to help move the table. I was extremely appreciative they didn't try to just move it on their own and were willing to risk disappointing or upsetting me with the truth. That might sound trivial, but I've found these days people will absolutely lie and take chances because they don't want to deal with a potentially irate customer. Honesty and integrity is hard to come by these days. I will be moving again in about six months and will definitely call upon Moving at Ease again. Highly recommend. read more

I researched many moving companies for our local move before settling on Moving at Ease. The positive reviews on Yelp, and being on the list of suggested movers from McDowell Village convinced me to choose this mover. Calls to Dan at their office were answered quickly. When I asked him about insurance he said that their company would call about it the day before the move to ask me if I wished to add any more insurance to the move. The call about this issue never was made by their company. Because of the size of our move I decided to book a three-person moving team. We were moving from a 1200 square foot apartment to an approximately same sized apartment. Estimates from Moving at Ease and other moving companies estimated that it would take five to six hours using a three person moving team. This seemed about right, as I have moved about a dozen times in my life. We arranged for the moving company to meet us at a storage facility close to our apartment to pick up a few things. We agreed to meet at 8:30 AM. When we arrived we found them already at the storage facility, which was promising. Two people came out of the truck, which was confusing to me. I arranged for a three person moving team. The employees stated that the other person would be late because he was dropping off his girlfriend. Things went relatively quickly at the storage facility with one hiccup. One of the employees dropped a wire shelf on his head, which would prove to be a bad omen for what was upcoming. When we arrived at our apartment, where everything was boxed up and ready to go, I was expecting the movers to have a hardwood dolly with sturdy box on top of it to be loaded with boxes to efficiently move. This turned out to not be the case, as the rate of moving seemed to slow to a crawl. At about 10:00 the third mover finally arrived at the scene, but spent most of the time as a bystander. The third member only stayed for a total of three hours. We gave him some of our items, as we were pondering not keeping them. He gave a vague "thank you" before he headed out for the day, leaving the two other movers to complete the first portion of the move. I was thoroughly unimpressed with the knowledge of the movers. I have never seen a mover not bring up floor coverings or moving blankets. I have an expensive Amish-made dining room set. The one mover just started stacking the chairs on top of each other on their sides with no cushioning between the chairs. I had to get some bubble wrap to provide the padding. The movers only removed the middle leg of the dining room table rather than all five legs. They also moved the table without using a blanket on it, which was extremely disconcerting. After about five hours at our apartment they were finally able to remove all objects from our apartment. We met them at the Salvation Army close by to donate some of our belongings before heading to our new apartment. The new apartment was a first floor apartment, but one has to go up one flight of stairs to get there. There was the option to either use a freight elevator or use the stairs, They decided to use the stairs instead of the elevator. The move crawled along again. We had a 7:30 concert to attend, which made me wonder if we could even make it. I decided to help the movers move items from the truck to our apartment in an attempt to save time. If I had wanted to move items myself I would not have hired movers in the first place. The movers ended up contacting some unknown third person to help them finish the move. He helped during the remaining hour of the move. Another cringe-worthy event came when they brought in my dining room table. As the movers were carrying it on its side the leaves separated on one side, but not the other, which caused a lot of torque on the table. Such careless moving was extremely discouraging, especially on an expensive item. I can only hope that no permanent damage occurred to the table. Previous moving companies removed all legs of the table, and wrapped the table top in moving blankets, which makes it easy to move. I guess that careful moving was not in this company's best interest. Finally, at 6:15 PM, the move was complete. What was expected to be a five to six hour experience ended up being a 10 hour adventure. I found that the movers decided to start charging us beginning when they arrived in the morning rather than when we decided to meet at the storage facility. I am finding scratches and other assorted damages to my furniture. I received no follow-up call from the moving company, which was also a first for me. Based on the other positive reviews on Yelp maybe we had an inexperienced crew. However, the fact that we did not receive a follow-up call reflects that the issue has to deal with more than just the mover, but rather is a company-wide issue. I wanted to wash my hands of them, which is why I am not contacting them about the damage to our furniture. I would not recommend using this moving company. read more

I scheduled a move with Moving At Ease for Friday 2/26/16. A two person crew arrived and explained what moving insurance options were available but did not pressure us into buying any additional insurance. Then we did a short walk thru the apartment with them and explained what we needed them to move. They understood very quickly what they needed to do and began immediately to load their truck. They were very efficient throughout the process and actually had hustle in their step (Somewhat unusual for people working by the hour.), They were very polite and friendly.
