Do not use them! First off Brandon gave me a quote by me sending him a list of items and measurements. The quote was 1/3 of the price that they actually tried to get me for saying it was overages. Of course by then everything was on the truck so what could I do? I had a stern conversation with Mike and thankfully that price was reduced, but still double of my original quote. Next my stuff arrived. A few things were broken, and upholstery was stained. It took forever just to get a claim form which I promptly submitted. Mike ensured me that the claim would get paid within 90 days and that was the last that I heard from him. The claim was never paid. Also, I ended up with a box of stuff that belonged to another client. So if you don't want to get misquoted, have your stuff get lost or damaged then the smart thing would be not to use them. read more

The BIGGEST joke of a moving company you could come across in Cali!! DO NOT waste your time, energy or money. My husband spent nearly an entire week calling movers for quotes to move our household belongings from Cali to Texas. Once we come in contact with ''Move Wisely'' the rep gave a great spill, bragged about how their number 1 goal was to earn our business, take care of our belongings as if they were their own ect ect. Ok next we agree to give them our business out of the 5 companies we received bids from. Move Wisely even received one of those bids with the company marked out and they wanted our business SO bad, they decided to beat the other movers price. Mind you, we sent Move Wisely our item manifest log from our papers with the company that moved us from Texas to Cali. Move Wisely had the tonnage, the size, the item log (4 bedroom house, 2 vehicles and a side by side) they had down to the weight of the truck. Move Wisely quoted us. Yes I know its a quote but having down the exact tonnage you would THINK it would be spot on. Move Wisely quoted us off the information we sent to them from the previously movers and they estimated us at 1600 cf. The day of the move the truck showed up and 4 workers, who was 5 hours late (they ''discounted'' us $100 for having to wait on them at the storage facility where our belongings were, BOXED and ready to go) and the driver said oh this wont fit on this truck. we are going to have to charge you more...... charge us more?? Excuse me!? Called the ''supervisor'' and supervisor says oh yeah, it'll be another $1400 for more cubic feet. The size of the truck kept changing as well. The driver said the truck could hold 1900cf and the ''supervisor'' said it was only a 1500cf. Anyway the run around kept on and on... So I, the wife decided to call.. When you call this JOKE of a company you get options. I hit every option given and it was still the name person, Brendon. So Brendon is the dispatcher, the sales rep, the office manager, and whatever else you want Brendon to be. The movers low balled us a quote just to ''earn'' our business. They sent a smaller truck KNOWING our household would not fit, just so they could charge us more. They had a manifest log/inventory of every piece of property we had before they even showed up. This pathetic Move Wisely crap show cost us having to leave a refrigerator, a fire pit, the side by side, several other misc things totaling $18k worth of belongings that had to be left in California because of this worthless, piece of crap company. They will not return calls, will not answer emails, nothing. Now the truck driver that ''Move Wisely'' hired was about the ONLY thing they done right. Move Happy, truck driver was Boris and his team was excellent. Kind, caring, and easy to work with. ''Move Wisely'' was given the dates that we had to receive our items by, and did not even tell the truck driver. Biggest joke of a business I have ever been involved in. Never would I recommend this company to my worst enemy! They saw us as a target for more money and of course we had to pay on delivery the difference in the price to the truck driver so we could take possession of our items. Biggest shit show I have ever seen. So not only are we out the $18k worth of personal items, we had to pay ''Move Wisely'' over $7000 for poor pathetic customer service and run around. Zero stars!!! Go somewhere else! The owner Mike is unprofessional and has been lying to me about a claim check that was due to me a YEAR ago. The movers damaged thousands of dollars of my property and he said several times he would send me a check for approximately $200 and the rest I had to filed through my homeowners insurance. Mike has lied to me about mailing a check. I still have not received it. The movers also fought like 5 year olds the whole time they unloaded. It was a joke! Seriously, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! DO NOT HIRE, these people they are liars and swindlers. Just read all of the reviews. They lie to you about how much space you have actually taken up in their truck and overcharge you. Be sure to measure it yourself. Then they tell you they are going to inventory and label every item. Of course they don't and use the excuse of oh we ran out of labels. Then they are going to lose some of your items which you will never get back and they will only reimburse you for them based on weight. But that is not the end of it, what does show up will be very damaged and broken. As for the reimbursement form, its like pulling teeth just to get them to send it to you. We had to send over 10 emails and phone calls to get one. But why bother because its based on weight so you will get only $40 for your $700 worth of missing items. Yup, they lost $700 worth of our belongings. Brendan is a liar and will push you off to Mike who is useless and won't even take 5 minutes to search their wharehouse for your missing items. By the way some of our missing items included our wedding photos and baby pictures. Mike did not even bother to reply to me asking him to check. Liars, thieves, save yourself. We can only hope Karma gives these horrible human beings everything they deserve. We were in such a rush to find movers that i didn't take any time to look up reviews on them. Unfortunately I have joined those others in the bad experience of using Move Wisely. They were brokered out to us and our load was estimated to be around 1800 cf. The broker added a 30% factor to make sure it wouldn't go over. The most this move should have cost us is $8200. We were charged 10,200. Like everyone else we we're basically held hostage once they have all your stuff packed. It is actually worse because they showed up in an Enterprise rental that was 26x8.5x8.5, meaning it couldn't possible hold more than 1900cf. And they charged us for 2900cf. It has been a month and a half and they haven't supplied the necessary PW to the broker. Nor have they supplied me the claim form for our lost and damaged. Mike, at Move Wisely is to say the least, difficult to try and talk to. He talks right over you and completely ignores the facts. He even said they didn't have to keep a detailed list of what was moved because it was out of state. I saw their list and there is no way it could be used as it was just a bunch of chicken scratches on some paper. The last time I talked with Mike he said he had sent all the PW requested. Which of course isn't true. I encourage all who had a similar experience to post a review not only here but with Better Business as well. Mikes repose to my BBB filing is full of untrue statements and did not address any of the facts I presented. He now has a couple more weeks to answer my response. Not holding my breath... So EVERYONE CONSIDERING USING MOVE WISELY... DON'T! Those of us who were cheated, lied to, and treated poorly can only hope people will read these reviews and choose someone else. I had the same experience that other people have had. I was given a quote under the actual volume to be shipped from California to North Carolina. When the packers came they said it would cost more. The price went from $3500 to $4700. Needless to say, I was upset. I would have used one of the national moving companies I got quotes from. I signed the contract on November 3, 2017 and said I would like the items delivered around December 1, 2017. My son who works for FedEx only had one day off, November 25th, a Saturday, during that time. They said ok. He was supposed to supervise. He didn't really supervise. They didn't pack anything inside the 3-piece wall unit. They did an inventory and gave it to my son; I have not seen it yet. He says the document says the items will be delivered around December 1st. When I complained about the price I was transferred to Mike. He said they usually have Saturdays off and they were doing me a favor. What moving company doesn't work on Saturdays? More on that later. He said the truck would leave in a day or two and would take 4-6 days to arrive. He said the driver would call me after he was on the road. I said ok. I waited 3 days. No call. I called Mike. He said they hadn't left yet and would be leaving in a couple of days. I said ok. I called again on December 1st. Mike said they hadn't left, but would be leaving Sunday, the 2nd. I said ok. I called on the 4th; Mike said the driver would be leaving on Thursday, the 7th. I said ok. On December 10th, Mike said they were loading the truck and he would text me driver info. This sent up a warning. "Loading the truck?" I waited 2 days before calling the driver. He would not identify himself. I was concerned. Eventually he warmed up and let me know he had 2 other loads to deliver first and would be here on the 21st. He also let me know his big rig would not fit in my driveway and they would have to rent a small truck and transfer all my stuff and there would be an extra charge for that ($500). He also mentioned I only had about 600 cubic feet of stuff. I was charged for 900 cubic feet and they wanted to add 250 additional cubic feet when I started. A lot of my stuff was damaged or missing pieces (It could have been family members moving stuff into storage or any of the loading crews, not worth pursuing). It was then that I found out Move Wisely is a brokerage company, not a moving company, for long distance moving. My conclusion: I probably won't use them again. I will probably do it myself (with younger family members). But this was my learning lesson: 1. have someone itemize up front; they can't raise the price if you do that. 2. Have the contract spell out exact dates for pick up and delivery (ie: del Dec 21-22 & company will keep customer updated on progress by phone or online). 3. Make sure the company is licensed, certified, and belongs to appropriate organizations (in this case Move Wisely does have paperwork and belongs to appropriate transportation organizations). 4. Get references/reviews online (like here on Yelp). read more

My moving experience started out great with mike in California! He is sweet man. Very helpful. However 34 days later I had still not received my stuff in South Carolina that I was given 3 different dates, I was contacted night before each date explaining my stuff would not be arriving the next day. Finally on the 34th day and a lot of excuses my things arrived not at 8am as promised but at 1pm. My brand new refrigerator was completely damaged in several places!!!!! And some my living room furniture had dents and dings and scratches all over edges and my bedroom set received several dents as well! I also paid an additional $2900 bucks to have my stuff shuttled to my home so make sure they know how to use google and map your home! In addition I found another family's thing in my stuff which to me looked to be very precious things of a child stuff a mother had been collecting so I hope that family in Florida got their child's stuff back. We booked this company for a move from CA to TX. We did 23 years in the Air Force and have moved to a of times including overseas. The company gave us a quote which stated that we would have a dedicated 26 foot truck for our move which was great because we wouldn't have to wait while multiple shipments were dropped off to receive our belongings. We paid for a full pack and move and in the military that means you pack and UNPACK upon arrival. Not the case with this company. We unpacked our own belongings. The day of the move the movers were decent and they arrived with 5 men I believe which was great. The movers also arrived with 2 26 foot trucks which was a surprise to us. We were told they brought another truck just in case our load went over. We didn't worry because again we have moved many times Andrea our belongings always fit in a 26 foot truck. Well of course with this company we went over the 26 foot and as a result were charged $800 ($1000-$200 for military discount). We were told we had the option of skiing th infant off the truck which was not an option so we paid. Now we waited longer than initially promised for our belongings which was inconvenient. When our belongings finally arrived they ARRIVED ON A 26 foot truck.....ALL OF OUR BELONGINGS ARRIVED ON A 26 foot truck which means they should have fit in a 26 foot at pick up. The kicker is that there was another small load on the truck so we did not even use the full 26 foot truck! We took pictures and sent them to the company and requested a refund of the overage charge paid. Their excuse was that the truck that picked us up was a smaller 26 foot truck than the one that dropped our belongings off! Horrible! Why did you give us the "bigger" truck to begin with? Definitely felt like a scam. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and of course the company did not respond to try to resolve the issue. Oh and some of our belongings were damaged which you expect with a move but being overcharged was the biggest issue. Also, on the arrival we were only sent 2 movers which was horrible Andy took forever. My husband ended up helping to move some items. The movers they sent were very nice, respectable young men however. Please beware especially to our military family members because no matter what this company will find a way to get extra money from you then never try to resolve the issue. read more

Crystal at Gold Standard knew how important it was for our move to be direct from CA to TX for my elderly parents and put Move Wisely on our move. This move was stressful until Move Wisely showed up. They were professional, courteous and reliable. I would like to thank all the movers at pick up and delivery Jonathan, Juan & 3rd guy in CA and Jose & Danny that delivered in TX. They all were gentle with our belongings and put everything where we wanted it. They took great care of us during this move, Their Manager Mike stayed in contact with me and did a great job. BEWARE!!! This company is a scam. They will quote you a low rate and then as soon as they have all of your stuff loaded in the truck, they'll up the charge! We were quoted $2,500 to move from California to Washington. They then raised it to $10,000 once they had all of our things on the truck!!! We then asked for them to unload our boxes so we could find another moving company, but Mike told us it would cost us $2,300 just to unload the truck. We went ahead and let them move our things up to WA because we did not want to incur that fee. They said they would be there Monday, then changed it to Tuesday and then wanted to change it to Wednesday. We had to pay for a hotel two nights which brought the cost of this move up even more. Then when they finally arrived, it was late in the evening and Mike demanded we pay with a money order, which we couldn't get at that late of an hour. So he held our stuff ransom and wouldn't let the movers unload the truck and sent them away. So we had yet again another night without our things. The movers came back the next morning and we had the money order ready. But Mike now demanded we pay $450 in cash because the movers had to come back again. This was an absolute nightmare and made our move incredibly stressful and incredibly expensive. Please don't use this company. This guy is a scam artist and needs to be put out of business. Los Angeles to Alabama: Quoted me a lowball price over the phone (Brandon). Arrived at 6pm (instead of 2pm) on June 1. After everything was moved into their truck (830pm), they informed me that there was much more than quoted ($2000 more) and that I needed to pay down in cash or check only (surprise no credit cards). After arguing with Mike for 15 minutes, he informed me that they can unload all my furniture and boxes out on the street if I wanted them to. Made me think that my furniture would be arriving within 2 weeks, and I hurried to get back to Alabama so that I would be there to receive it. After numerous calls to Mike over the next month, my furniture finally arrived 5 weeks later (July 8). After hooking up my 65" tv, I find that it was damaged, with a gouge in the center of the screen (from behind). I have no recourse for the damage. The picture has a huge blemish in the center of the viewing side - ruined. If you want to be totally disappointed, be made to feel that you may NEVER receive your items (after all, what could I have done if they decided to never bring my furniture across the country to me....fly back to LA and get with the sheriff?). Think about what you are doing. Make sure you know what you are trusting to strangers, and think about what could you do if they damaged, lost or stole your things.... USE A REPUTABLE MOVER, WITH PROFESSIONALS, IN UNIFORMS. I will NEVER make this mistake again. read more

On 03/26/2018 I entered into a contract with Move Wisely through there Representative Brendon. The contract called for 2550 cf. @$3.40 per cf. I advised Brendon that the items were at two (2) locations. One being my house with household goods that I would pack the small items and the second location was my business warehouse approximately 3 miles away where I had pallets of candy from my business that would also have to be loaded on the truck. Brendon advised me they would be sending a Tractor Trailer so there would not be a problem. I asked Brendon at that time if I did not use the full 2550 cf. would I still be charged for the entire space and Brendon advised me once the truck was loaded they would measure the cf. used and would than discount accordingly should it be less. Brendon also advised me that there was a minimum of 1400 cf charge even if I went below that. At 10:50 am the driver showed up in a Penske Rental Truck and I advised him this would not hold all my household items and the 7 pallets at my warehouse. The driver advised me that a 2nd truck was about 30 minutes behind them. I advised the driver that I was told by Brendon that a Tractor Trailer truck was to be used. The driver advised me they would transfer the items to the Tractor Trailer at their warehouse as it is hard to get a Tractor Trailer into housing areas to load them. When the second Penske Rental Truck arrived I took the second truck to my warehouse and loaded the 7 pallets and my pallet jack onto the second truck. At around 1:15pm the workers had finished loading the 1st Rental Truck. The driver handed me a revised estimate with additional charges for Total material and packing of $980.00, and excess cf. of 350 to be charged @ $4.40 per cf.. I advised the driver that the original estimate quoted showed that I was to get Total material and packing worth $1000.00 for $0.01 and the driver said they would not honor this! I also argued with the driver about the excess 350 cf.. He then called his boss Mike. I spoke with Mike on the phone and again the $1000.00 of Total material and packing was not going to be honored. I also questioned the excess 350cf. and Mike tried to tell me about how the 1st Rental Truck was almost full and the 2nd Rental truck had 7 pallets on it. I advised Mike that the front on the 1st Rental truck was hollow half way up and the back had at least 4 feet of empty space. Mike advised me that the items would be transferred to a Tractor Trailer at the warehouse and then the cf. would be determined. Mike and I spoke about the total cf. and the charges again and Mike assured me that when the Tractor Trailer was loaded they would recalculate the cf. at that time and he would adjust the final payment accordingly. I agreed and authorized the payment of $7800.00 on my American Express card with the agreement that the final payment would be adjusted if the cf. was lower than the 2900 cf. on the contract. After reviewing the contract again I noticed that the calculations on the contract were wrong. The five items on the contract less one discount on the contract states it is $ 13,207.00 but when calculated it comes to a total of $11,714.00 ($8670.00 + $1540.00 + $980.00 + $867.00 + $150.00 - $493.00 = $11,714.00). Mike advised me he would call me when the Tractor Trailer was loaded to give me an approximate delivery date and how much the final payment would be if it was lower than the contract specified. 04/26/2018 I called Mike and he advised me that I could call the driver "Dan" to schedule the delivery. I then called Dan the driver of the Tractor Trailer and he advised me that driving to my house in Tennessee on the afternoon of 04/28/2018. After giving Dan the Cashier's Check, Dan opened the trailer so I could measured the space that was used. When the Trailer was opened I noticed that when the truck was loaded 3 of the 7 pallets had been disassembled to consolidate the space that was used for the shipment. The amount of space used was about 1/3 the inside of the trailer. I had to measure from the outside the length so I had Dan acknowledge the outside point and the inside point to be the same by the rivets on the trailer. I then measured the inside width and height of the trailer. The measurements were Length 252 inches, Width 108 inches, and Height 117 inches. This calculated 252"x 108"x117" = 3,184,272 divided by 1728 = 1843 cf.. This mean I was overcharged 707 cf. @ $3.40 = $ 2403.80 and 350 cf. @ $4.40 = $1540.00 for a total of $3943.80. 04/30/2018 I phoned Mike and advised him I would like a refund for the overcharge. I also advised Mike at this time that I had physically measured the amount of space used in the Trailer. Mike said he would talk with "His Boss" and would call me back by 2pm. Mike never called back! Mike advised me he would talk to 'His Boss" again and I told Mike the best thing to do was to have "His Boss" call me direct and Mike said he would. I never received a call! read more

The owner of this company, Mike, is a CROOK and a liar; It has been almost a year and a half since I moved with them, which ended up costing much more than the estimate; as well as two of my items were actually delivered to another customer!!! How does this happen? He kept telling me that his claims dept were behind but that I would get reimbursed for the two items that were lost. I still have not received the reimbursement which I patiently gave him plenty of time. After being lied to for so long , I felt the need to let others know just what a crook he is. Also, the driver that delivered my items was very late and was very ill; he kept using my bathroom to get sick; he didn't leave my house until 2:30 am which was ridiculous AND if that's not enough, told me that I had much less cubic feet than I was told I had and said they do that all the time; they give an estimate that sounds reasonable, then increases the total big time. My move to Las Vegas was over a year ago; review not sooner as tried to forget the worse move of my life. Agent Brendon under bid and gave me incorrect info re wardrobe boxes. On day of move had to buy boxes directly from Mike at prices higher than would have paid at Home Depot prior to move. Had I know, the clothes could have been used as cushioning in the other boxes. The smaller boxes I had to buy from Mike increased my box count considerably. Mike and helper did not put back glass to coffee table nor bridge to entertainment center as found but left on floor. Had to hire handy man to finish the job. They left their own trash all over the place though dumpster was near their truck advised; "we don't bring out trash". They didn't read boxes clearly marked as those marked very fragile were found with 3 or 4 heavy boxes on top left in the wrong rooms. Told "once box is put down we do not move it" obviously even when clearly marked. They did not try at all to see if couch would fit another way other than straight in; had to buy new couch. Mike was totally rude. He left most of the work to his helper. Price increased from Brendon's low ball to what I actually paid by $800. Be careful using this company for out-of-state moves. read more
