This is the most horrible moving company in the history of the universe. It started out with the truck trucker LITERALLY trying to extort me by saying he would load up my stuff for a CASH GRATUITY...ended with him taking only half my stuff from storage. Listen to the copious amount of reviewers detailed below. They are absolutely consistent in their messages. I moved to Idaho from CA in January. It took them 10 months to get back to me for directions about how to submit a claim for broken, poorly package furniture. For example, they bent a floor lamp, scratched a packaged canvas photograph, and even left without assembling furniture that was stipulated in the contract. Brendan and Mike finally told me how to submit a claim. So i submitted. They stated that they have 90 days. I called, asked for updates, and waited the full 90 days. Now the owner, Mike, won't call me back. Go ahead and read the rest of the review because if you go with this unorganized and unprofessional business, you will have the same happen to you. 1. They have no incentive to provide an accurate quote based on their protocol. Specifically, they didn't even come out to the house to see my inventory for a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath after invited. My mistake. Then they provided me with a quote. Come moving day, we were over the estimated cubic square footage by 1000 cu.ft, and Mike from Move Wisely charged me an additional $3,200. Yes, if we went over the estimated cu. ft., I will pay for that; however, I shouldn't be charged double the cu. ft. rate that was initially quoted. It's not my fault you have an unethical incentive to under quote people to obtain more money. 2. Several items were damaged in the move. Not items like glass, because you expect that. Items such as canvas art, paintings, and wood furniture that was "packed" by the company. I have several scratches to my canvas artwork that cannot be replaced. The wood furniture was not covered properly and now has several gashes in it that can't be fixed unless I spend more money. A floor lamp that was broken down, packed and wrapped in bubble wrap is bent. They also lost parts to my refrigerator. Really? Put the bolts and trays back in the sealed doors!!! I have images of all of the broken, scratched, and dented items. 3. Move Wisely said they would send enough guys to get the truck unloaded in a reasonable amount of time. They also stated that if they broke it down for packing, they would reassemble it. It took two guys 12 hours to unpack everything from one truck. They didn't put together the beds, the standing garage shelving units, the refrigerator, and other furniture. The reason, they had to drive back to Southern California from Idaho that night (only a 16 hour drive without traffic), so they had to leave. 3. I submitted a form asking for compensation of the broken items and the assembling of the material that was supposed to be completed by them. Mike has now "lost" the paperwork, refuses to answer calls from my wife, won't call me back. So here we are, on Yelp. Next Stop, the Better Business Bureau. BEWARE OF THESE THIEVES at Move Wisely. Had a very similar experience to Samantha V. (her review was posted to Yelp on 8/30/2018)- and many other reviewers below. We hired these folks to move my mother and grandmother across country. Experience was a NIGHTMARE. Salesman confirmed an expedited move that would take 5-7 days, and a quote that was later quadrupled (4x) what they originally stated after going through a very detailed inventory with us. Even moved an extremely heavy couch and chair that we DID not want moved ( and told them so). They stated that they couldn't unpack the truck now. Mike in the office who the salesman passes you off to deal with, is unprofessional to say the least- rude doesn't begin to describe it-he was screaming at us over the phone several times, when we questioned the new quote. A different moving company, a man by the name of Jose, -Move Wisely contracts out to a variety of different "movers"- arrived exactly 30 days after they picked up the items. (just enough to comply with federal regulations requiring 30 days or they start to get charged a daily rate). Jose and his team were careless and damaging our items -At one point, my mom walked around the corner when Jose and his team were unloading to find them sliding boxes down the stairs, damaging and breaking things inside! When confronted about an art piece ( iron sculpture that they damaged), he said "Oh, you can just take it to a welder and get it fixed". The worst part is, All of our things were in COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BOXES than the ones we had packed them in with different writing on them. My family and I ensured we hand labeled each box for organization purposes and these boxes had magically vanished. ALL of our items were RANSACKED-jewelry, family heirlooms/gold coins, leather jackets, hats, shoes and other valuables that were hidden and wrapped away- were completely gone. I recommend this moving company despite the flurry of less than positive reviews. I needed to vacate my apartment within a week. Shopped around various long distance moving services and settled on this one. The manager gave a reasonable quote for a move from SoCal to up north. The arrangement was well coordinated and my belongings were professionally boxed, wrapped and/or packaged. Upon timely delivery, management contacted me to make sure I was satisfied with the handling of the move. I am a happy customer. Again, I would recommend this company. read more

Mike (the foreman) has threatened to sue me in small claims court if I misrepresent his company in this review. He can use this review as my statement in court if he wishes to do so. I have never used a long distance moving company in the past and did not understand the importance of the terminology being used to acquire my business. My original plan for moving from CA to ID was to book a Penske 26 foot rental truck. I knew we would be lucky to fit all of our items in that size of truck being a family of 5. So I booked the Penske truck for under $2,000. I would still need to do all the moving and pay for diesel fuel, so add another $800 for that. After speaking with my father he found a company who gave him a rough estimate for my family's move. I called Brendon at MW and got a revised estimate. He asked me about what items I have and made a list over the phone (That was my mistake, I should have had them come to the house to give me an accurate estimate). Their estimate over the phone was $3,520. Sounded good to me since renting a truck myself, driving the truck, hiring movers at each location, and paying for fuel would have been about $2,800, sounded like a no brainer so I agreed to use MW and gave them a 10% deposit. On the day of the move I meet the moving crew and the foreman Mike. They are all nice and good at what they do. I tipped them all $20 each for their hard work. Mike is the foreman in charge of numbering your inventory, everything from a lawn chair to the refrigerator gets an item number. In the original estimate Brendon created for us he had us down for 92 items and 1000 cubic feet. I did not realize how those numbers come into play in the final estimate until moving day. I just assumed Brendon listened to me and understood we would be lucky to fit our items in a 26' truck and I assumed he made his estimate in the similar fashion. I was not used to the terminology of cubic feet and number of items being moved. I just knew we would be lucky to fit everything in a 26' truck. Mike was polite and told us we would probably go over the cubic feet and number of items in the original estimate and would update us with the new charges as they packed the truck up. Everything they do is legal and well documented in their forms. The original estimate of $3,520 jumped to $5,500.25 in the end after the truck was loaded with now 170 items at right under 1,500 cubic feet. The original estimate given by Brendon over the phone allowed 92 items with 1,000 square feet. I knew I had no other options but to pay the extra money since I'm due to start working right away in Idaho. Our piano was in the original estimate for the move, however when Mike came on moving day he said it was $350 extra, however after calling his office they can do it for $175. In my opinion, this company needs better communication between Brendon and Mike. If I ever use a moving company again I will have them visit my house and give me an accurate estimate to start with. Like I said everything MW did was legal and well documented. In conclusion, this was just another lesson in life that I had to learn the hard way. Instead of rewriting the same explanation as to why these people should not be trusted with your belongings, I advise you to check the 'Better Business Bureau' and see why the BBB gave them an 'F' for a grade. They are not friendly, and they do not care for your things. They want your money and will charge way more than they quoted once they realize they have you backed into a corner and all your stuff is in their truck and/or warehouse. Moved from Ca to FL few weeks ago. Was so confused of all the quotes I've taken, the prices were in such a big range and then had so many questions that few companies were so rude and hang up on me. Came across this company and Brendon was so patient with me. He answered all my questions and was there any time later to assure me that my stuff won't be harmed and will reach the destination on time. What a grate choice!!! I don't even know where to begin with the horrendous and unprofessional "service" this company provides. First of all, they told me a window of a day or two of when they were going to pick up my items. They were TWO days late..which is a problem when you're preparing to move 2000 miles. They took my items to their warehouse where they ended up hoarding my items in a hot dusty environment. No care for the items they were storing. Per the Department of Transportation regulations, moving companies are not to have someone 's moving items for more than 21 days. In this 21 days of living out of a suitcase and sleeping on a blow up bed with a couple blankets, waiting for my furniture, I attempted contacting Mike with Move Wisely. I asked several times of updates, when my furniture was scheduled to make it to my new destination. ALL inquiries were met with "I'll call you back." Of course, he NEVER called back. It came down to me requesting the exact address of their warehouse, since we were approaching the DOT deadline, so I could arrange for another company to come pick up my belongings. He would NOT EVEN GIVE ME THE ADDRESS of where MY belongings were being held. All calls were met with voicemail and all texts were met with an automated "I'll call you back." I had no idea where all my worldly possessions were. It was very unsettling. I'm going to spare you all the other lacking communications that occurred, and blatant, explicit name calling that was said to me from Mike. But 25 days later, in a rented Ryder truck, my things arrived. However, they demanded that I pay immediately and would not even open the truck so I could confirm that my belongings were inside....very sketchy. The two movers quickly and recklessly unloaded my furniture and threw it in my new house. Soon enough I realized that not even that everything was absolutely riddled with dents, dings, and never ending dust, but my piano, was heavily damaged. Nothing was more heartbreaking that one of my most prized possessions and favorite instrument had suffered at least $1000 worth of damage. Boxes containing my carefully wrapped flatware and stemware, labeled "Fragile," had been carelessly thrown around and all smashed up, including the contents. After the movers fled the scene I was left to attempt to take inventory and salvage what had been delivered. End all be all, several boxes containing my beloved personal belongings were missing, my piano was heavily damaged, and endless dirt from the filthy dusty warehouse where my items had been held hostage, filled my new home. And for the cherry on top, everything arrived out of contract LATE, I was incessantly strung along with lies, no communication on the whereabouts of my items, and called deplorable terms that I wouldn't even call my ex-mother-in-law. And guess what happened when I tried to contact Move Wisely regarding these problems....LOL...you got it...no answer and an automatic "I'll call you back" text. Whatever you do, stay FAR away from these degenerates. They are unprofessional, stealing, lying, reckless, careless LOSERS. read more

David and his team are pros. They packed our stuff up wonderfully and found ways to fit even the most uneven pieces of furniture into the truck. I'm confident that our stuff will arrive undamaged with the way they protected everything. I'll update this review upon delivery in a couple weeks, but for now, very happy with the service. Talk to Mike for any concerns, and he'll help you out. Update : My update is so late, sorry yelpers. Although my experience with this company was pretty good, there was a slight hiccup with the delivery. One of the biggest items in our shipment, the couch, was never put on the second truck, and we never received it. Mike was nice enough to compensate for it, and for that we were grateful. But, in the end, it was still quite unreal that they could forget a couch of all items. Overall, it was a decent move, but I'd probably stick to a more well known company in the future for any long distance moves in case something like this were to happen again. read more

The whole experience has been beyond horrible and ridiculous. Seth Martin was who I spoke with initially, he was the salesman who wrote my contract. He confirmed that my move would be expedited and would take 5-7 days. This turned out to be a flat out LIE. Did not hear anything from them at all until I called them on the initially promised pick-up day and found out that my date has been pushed back by a day. The person who I spoke with was unhelpful, did not know anything about my situation, and clearly there has been no communication about my move. They reconfirmed that although my pick up date was pushed back a day, I would still be guaranteed the expedited 5-7 day delivery that I was promised... Finally, the movers showed up LATE for pick up and they told me they were going to charge me more because I was over the weight limit of 2,000 lbs. I am a single person with very minimal stuff, there was no way it was over 2,000lbs. Total it was maybe 800lbs. I had even done a prior inventory check and was told that I was well under the weight limit. They were just trying to get more money out of me and scam me. The pickup men gave me a man named Mike's number to contact from here on out. So I called Mike and he knew absolutely nothing about my situation. He was extremely rude with me, to the point where he was yelling at me and talking over me. He told me my shipment was not going out until a week later. **UPDATE: my things have now been delayed another week** None of this was EVER communicated to me and it was confirmed several times that I would have my stuff expedited. So now I've been without a bed, clothes, or furniture and will not have any of my things for who knows how long because of this company's lies. After reading some other reviews, it seems that a lot of other people have had very similar experiences. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY, and I will never use them again. I first contacted Luis at Rhino Relocation in July 2020 for relocation from CA to NC. I gave him a full list of items and received an initial estimate of about $3700. On Aug 6th a truck showed up and the driver gave me a new quote of $7500 after looking at my stuff. I obviously sent that truck away and called Rhino Relocation to tell them I want to cancel my move after realizing I was scammed but he would not refund my deposit even though I was assured by Paul, Luis's manager, that the deposit was refundable. Instead of returning my deposit Luis told me he had another crew to send out assuring those guys are his best crew. It didn't look like I could get my refund easily so I gave a benefit of doubt about the new crew. That afternoon I received a call from Mike, Move Wisely owner, that his crew will come pick up my belongings in the evening. He called me 3 times that afternoon telling me how much he would really like the job and that he was running late from his previous job. Around 7pm a truck shows up with 3 guys. Mike took a look at my belongings and told me it's about 950cf plus minus 50cf and that he can fit all my stuff in his truck which he claimed has 1300cf of space available. I should have measured the truck space myself but didn't because I was running out of time, which I still regret to this date. It took about 3 hours to get to almost full load. I still had stuff left in my house but the truck was running out of space. I had to be selective about what to load because I knew what gets left behind would not make it to NC but Mike complained about me taking time to select what to load in the truck and refused my requests because it was getting late and he wanted to go home after a long day. This guy certainly didn't sound like the same guy who called me 3 times earlier to make sure I knew he was coming to pick up my belongings. After loading up the truck Mike quotes me $5700 for the job claiming my belongings filled 1300cf of space. Although I felt scammed I was left with no other choice but to pay him half the amount he quoted. It was super tiring week for me and my family and I just wanted to be done with the moving process so I paid him after getting assured that my stuff will be delivered in 2 weeks. One of my room still had stuff and I ended up throwing away all of that stuff because I had to leave in two days and the truck had no more space. I thought my nightmare was over but it was only half of the story. After arriving in NC we waited for a week before contacting Mike for a status update. He did not give us a clear answer as to when we can expect our belongings delivered. His only response was, "We are getting a truck early next week" every time I was able to get a hold of him. 2 weeks passed by and still no truck and our anxiety grew day by day. My family of 3 was living off of 3 brief cases in an empty house in NC for almost 3 weeks. After I got really frustrated reading so many horrific reviews about Move Wisely (Believe every horror story you come across about Move Wisely as they are probably all true) I attempted to contact Mike numerous times but he stopped responding to my call after he failed to deliver on promised date. The only means of communicating with Mike was via text and nothing was being done. He once responded, "We are doing our best." I contacted Rhino Relocation to complain about Move Wisely but Luis just kept putting me on hold and waited for me to hang up. I could never get a hold of him, either. He already got his broker fee so I figured he didn't have any reason to bother with complain. After a month of wait Mike finally responded to my messages saying our belongings are finally loaded to a truck and will be delivered on Sept 5th. Ryder rental truck showed up on 6th at our front door with our belongings. After they finished unloading we found out 4 items were missing and nearly all of our furniture and appliances had damages or destroyed. The driver, Jose, took off quickly after telling me he would contact Mike to take care of damage claim and missing items and I was never able to reach him again after that day. I didn't hear from anyone from Move Wisely afterward. I asked them to locate missing items and to take care of damages but only response I got was Mike's text message, "I'm doing my best." It's been more than 2 months since my last contact with Move Wisely and I still have not heard back from them nor was able to reach Mike. Stay away from these people and save yourself a weeks of agonizing and sleepless nights. They will do anything to take possession of your belongings then it is game over after. You will be scammed and overcharged and then find your stuff delivered late, damaged and lost while you are being ignored during and after the entire process. Move Wisely is a fraud. read more

Let me start by saying "Beware Beware" you will not be happy with this company. Check out other reviews on Yelp and see how many horrible reviews they have....same scam they used on me has been done to many others and then they threaten you when they see the bad review. First it's "seems" they may be brokers. We had people show up to move us in rental trucks then they took our belongings to a ware house and had our stuff unloaded and loaded into another rental truck. Things got damaged and good luck trying to get a repair or reimbursement. We contracted with Move Wisely to move our household goods from Lake Forest Ca. to Florence Oregon sometime in mid Dec. 2017. On Jan 21, 2018 they picked up (and took to a warehouse and transferred to another truck) all our house hold goods and then finally delivered them to our new home on Jan 27, 2018. As the goods were being unloaded we noticed and brought to the attention of the contracted employees several pieces of furniture that were damaged and two taxidery mounted fish that had the fins snapped off and fishing pole broke in half. Again those were noticed by the Move Wisely employees and I took pictures of the damaged goods with the employees (Jose D*****o and Chris C****o) in the back round and holding the some of the damaged goods. We also found several pieces of glass ware and Christmas decorations broken, but did not make a claim for that. I filled out all insurance claim forms and sent pictures as per the claim instructions and since then NOTHING but grief. I contacted Move Wisely several times and have been dodged and lied to by Mike who I believe is one of the owners. Finally contacted I contacted the BBB and he lied to them saying he offered me reimbursement (he didn't) and now the BBB has given up saying they were unable to help but gave me several legal remedies to try which I plan on doing. I have texts and records of all conversations....nothing but lies This is NOT a trustworthy business and again BEWARE. read more

After reading all the negative posts and the nightmares that people had in dealing with this moving company, I also had a similar experience moving my daughters belongings from Southern California to Kansas on March 1,2018. After dealing with Brendon and Mike I can honestly state that this company is nothing short of being a bunch of scammers. From quoting me one price of approximately $1400 to over $2200 because the cubic feet on the day of loading was incorrect in their estimate was an automatic red flag. I had no choice to pay the additional amount because my daughter was moving from her small apartment and had to catch a flight out the next day. And doing this transaction from out of state was a nightmare because I had to jump through hoops to make the payment arrangements. I was constantly on the phone with Mike about the delivery date and was repeatedly lied to about this also. It took them over a month to deliver my daughters belongings and I had to call the driver numerous times to find out when they were going to show up! The delivery was a joke because 3 Hispanic drivers showed up at an outside storage unit on bitterly cold and windy day wearing nothing but shorts and T-shirts. They were freezing their butts off as they unloaded my daughters belongings. During unloading and after they indicated they were finished I looked up into the truck and saw some of my daughters plastic tote bins mixed in with someone else's belongings. Another red flag. Not until later did my daughter realize that there were 2 large plastic tote bins missing entirely, of which one had personal items that belonged to her deceased mother. My daughter and I spoke with Mike numerous times about the missing tote bins and have gotten nowhere with him. Unfortunately I know we will never retrieve the lost items. Worst experience ever! It was a long distance move and Brendon lied about the price and other things just to get the business! They lost at least 2 boxes and many of my boxes were damaged and my stuff was falling out and they were still asking for the tip! We had to pay almost double even that we left almost half of our things behind (after moving crew showed us how much space we have in the truck even after I was informing Brendon on regular bases before moving what and how much we will have)! Worst experience of my life. Some how the original company we talked to Cali Movers ended up using them as a subcontractor. They showed up a day later than we agreed to and had no knowledge of our signed contract with Cali. They showed up in a yellow Penske truck. One guy basically stood around and the other guy did everything. They had no idea our contract included 30 days of storage. They had no idea what to do with our stuff. It took them 10 hours to pack the truck with boxes and furniture from our 2 bedroom apartment. They charged us all kinds of fees we didn't know about. They charged us a 4% service charge for using a corporate credit card from my husband's work. 30 days later we had them meet us at our storage unit. More than half of our boxes were either crushed or ripped open. My son's train table was totally destroyed. 2 dressers were broken beyond repair. A book shelf was broken. A tv is totally broken, the screen is totally shattered. They lost the ladder to my kids bunk beds. Every piece of furniture was either chipped or scratched. Very unprofessional. I hired move wisely six months ago when I moved from Valley Village area to Santa Clarita. I have been so busy lately getting all my house up and running didn't get a chance to write the review. There are no words to describe the amazing service that I got from Benny and the crew. By this company being so professional as they are really made my move very smooth and easy. Brendan made me feel very comfortable with using their company. Even though I was grossly misquoted ( a move I thought would cost $2500 cost over $6,000) I still went with them. They mixed items...i got other people's boxes and still can't find some of mine. The WORST part... They broke my mother's antique desk! They claim they will pay pennies for it but when I try to resolve it I'm ignored and hung up on. Mike asked for my bank routing number and acct number so he can make a deposit. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I wish I had heeded the reviews on this site and others, but I was fooled by the initial customer service I received from the sales rep, Brendon. We moved from California to Nebraska in February (2019) and I chose this company because of the low-to-mid quote range I was provided and because we wanted the assurance of working with a small business rather than a large corporation. Brendon made the estimate process seem easy. I gave him a list of all of our larger items, and an estimate on the number of boxes we would use. Brendon assured me I could update that list up to 24 hours before pick up. Close to our pack date, we decided to ditch a bunch of our larger items and realized we had many more boxes than I originally thought, so I sent Brendon an email with our updated household goods list. Brendon's estimate of 600 cf for our home did not change. I thought it was odd, but I figured it was possible that getting rid of the larger items was offset by the added boxes and assumed he knew what he was doing. On the day of pick up the loading team was actually the best part of this experience. They did a great job fitting our items onto the truck and handled them with care. Things went downhill when the person in charge of loading called my husband and I out to the truck to update us on our overage. We realize that an estimate is just that... but we also assumed that a professional who runs a business and uses a special software program to produce these estimates would be able to get something relatively close to the actual size. Maybe with 100 cf or so. When we got to the truck, the inside was marked with a permanent marker to show the cubic feet our items were taking up. We were at almost 1,000 cf and we didn't even have all of our items on the truck at that time! We were shocked. Seeing our reaction to this outrageous overage, one of the employees who was loading stated "off the record" that when they see an estimate from Brendon, they automatically assume it's actually going to be way larger of a load. My husband grabbed his digital measuring tool to measure the area within the truck, and we discovered that the markings on the walls of the truck that were being used to determine our final cost were almost 150 cubic feet short!!! (So, if the items were 300 cf, the truck marked them as 450 cf). We were furious. We called the owner/manager, Mike, to discuss our grievances. Mike is unprofessional, misogynistic, disrespectful, and tried to use his military background as a shield from his bad business tactics. It was at that point that it was brought to our attention that our quote per cubic foot would go up an additional $1 per cubic foot for anything over our estimate. When my husband spoke with him about the difference in price not being discussed with us by his sales rep, Mike would not assist him in any way. He stated that it was a part of the contract that we signed and that was final. We, unfortunately, had to accept that the increase per foot over the estimate was something that we missed in the fine print of the contract. However, we were still grossly underestimated the number of cubic feet for our household foods by his sales associate, Brendon. Mike did not care. When my husband brought up the incorrect markings inside of the truck that was being used to determine not only the size of our goods but other customer's as well, Mike admitted that the truck was wrong and said he would take off that extra footage... but he said it as if it were a FAVOR to us. If we did not have the tools or if my husband did not have the skill to measure the inside of the truck, we would never have known about it. Talk about shady business practices. I decided to call Mike myself because of how upset we were with their service because it seemed as though we were going to have to pay almost double what we had anticipated. Mike completely dismissed me on the phone, was insulting, and even made a remark about how "the men" had already handled the situation. I was livid. My husband and I considered having the movers unload our goods and figuring out another way to get our things to Nebraska. It was at that time that we were told it would cost us almost $600 to have our items unloaded. So, our entire life was on that truck and we literally could not afford to pay that amount right before our already planned move and move out date for our old home. We felt completely duped. We begrudgingly paid them what we had to and just hoped that no further issues would arise. Fast forward to our goods being delivered in March. They left our giant California King headboard off the truck and it was not delivered to us. We submitted our claim to Move Wisely and they have yet to give us an answer. All they do is forward us the same email stating we have nine months to make a claim and that it usually takes that long to complete it. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You will regret it. read more

Stick to major movers, not brokers!! Here is my experience, not unlike others now that have read some of the reviews: Deceptive, unethical, unresponsive. Below is the message I sent a few days ago after receiving my household goods. I tried calling Mike Zive, owner/manager and his response was "text me" which I did, no reply. (4) phone conversations with promises to resolve issues and send me what they 'found' left behind. After 3 months I have already spent at least $300 on hand tools, one of the items they claim was 'left' behind. The crew which picked up the material from my home in Menifee also did a great and careful job, I was there. Somewhere in between things went array. The first thing I noticed missing was a large Dewalt tool chest with all of my hand tools, the box weighed at least 50 lbs and was on one of the middle shelves on the racks which *****I had stretch wrapped for simplicity and security.*****There were at least $1000 of tools, laser tape, stud finder, wrenches, saws etc. The flat screen 55" TV which was less than a year old had been dropped on the corner and now there is sound, no picture as the screen is broken. The Sanyo surround sound system, which was labeled as such in a box, is not to be found anywhere. I am missing a large Lithium battery for my EGO yard equipment I have a bed frame which is NOT mine, some home décor which is not mine etc. The large heavy book case has a huge chunk broken off on one corner and damage to another. The very expensive glass top sofa table has the corner of the glass broken, the glass is about 3/4" thick and heavy The large pedestal lamp had the glass portion shattered in pieces, the tower broken The sad thing is I do not even know exactly what is missing since it has been a while since I moved out of the home Rather than write a novel, please advise with whom I should file and insurance claim to recoup my losses. read more

We used this company for a long distance move from CA to OR. It was our first time using a professional mover and we thought it would make our move easier. We did not, however, have a good experience. The quote we received was much lower than other moving companies, but they their estimations were off. They ended up costing just as much, if not more than other larger companies. I wish I had insisted on them packing our furniture first. They packed the boxes first so by the time we went over our estimated space, we couldn't prioritize what to leave out. We couldn't fit the last $1000 worth of patio furniture/BBQ in the end. We learned that they brokered us out. This means that one set of movers picked up and loaded, our stuff was unloaded into a warehouse, reloaded on two other trucks before reaching us. Many boxes were damaged by the time they reached us, a few items scratched, dented, broken. They would only take cash on the receiving end, which felt questionable and the guys they hired to unload the trucks were just guys they hired off Craigslist. Could have been anyone coming into my house. Scary! All in all, I wish we had just done it ourselves. It would have been a lot less stressful. OMG... everything on these reviews is the same exact thing that happened to me. The movers from Move Wisely came to my storage unit, loaded all of my belongings and after they closed the door to the truck, tripled the price. I was supposed to pay them 600 that day and the balance upon delivery. The movers closed the door to the truck and said "ok that will be 2300 today and 1500 upon delivery. They wanted to charge me 600.00 to unload all of my stuff if I cancelled. The owner, Mike said that he would measure everything for me the next day and give me a proper quote and if it wasn't correct would bring all of my property back to the storage unit. Instead, he only reduced the price by 300.00 and wanted to charge my 800.00 to cancel the job, this DIDN'T include my deposit that I had already paid which is why I went ahead and continued with them against my better judgment which was a mistake. It took a month to get my property delivered to Florida from California. Mike kept making promises that it would be on another specific day which was of course a LIE. When I finally received my property they had literally broken anything that consisted of glass. My entertainment center is missing two panels of glass, My brand new bed frame was broken. They literally pried the wood away from the bed frame instead of removing the nails. They did the same with my mirror that goes with my dresser. They pried the wood apart from the mirror frame and removed the glass from the frame, the nails are just hanging from the frame and you can see that it was done on purpose. They went through my stuff and stole a pair of Michael Kors shoes that I had only worn once. I've called Mike and was promised a claim form which I'm yet to receive. I've used moving services before, and this is the worst company ever. They have absolutely NO INTEGRITY or care for other people's property that they work hard for. I truly wish I didn't have to give a star at all. People beware, RUNNNNNNN. They're thieves and liers, just terrible people. I noticed in a prior review that a worker is saying that the customers are lying, well I can upload my quote that and the pictures of my stuff after it was delivered. I have no reason to lie. Oh and not to mention that I'm yet to receive a copy of my original quote. The person who gave me the original low quote, blocked the email so that the original quote can't open, but even the paper work that I was given upon arrival has a different number from what I was actually charged. They stated that I had more stuff than they expected, but I given a quote that include 20 bins and I didn't even have 20 bins. Bottom line is go with a more reputable company who will actually come out and look at your stuff FIRST. Forget these over the phone quotes, it's just a set up for them to take your money. Once this company gained possession of my property they just continuously was with the bull crap afterward. All I can say is NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

FINAL UPDATE: 7-6-2017 pm. Mike Zive the Operations Manager personally attended to my complaint. He went out to the warehouse, re-measured my property completely, took pictures and discovered the error. He call me immediately cancelled my existing contract, re-calculated all the numbers as there was an error in the total cubic measure after my property was in their truck. He went over all the numbers, made allowances & discounts, made up a new contract, the cost went down from $4587.62 to $3339.00. Mike also made arrangements to pay for my first months storage here in Colorado so I would not lose my unit, gave me an immediate credit back and resolved the whole issue. Mike was so concerned that he had personally talked to the crew last night before he called me. At the end of the call I felt my complaint was resolved completely. Mike made sure I was happy with my experience with Move you Wisely. Mike Zive is a man of great integrity & honesty. He was quick to deal with my complaint, speak with all his staff to assess the full picture and spent over an hour and a half on the phone personally with me to make things 100% right. I have cancelled my complaint with OIG/DOT today. I want to say something on a personal note. There were many moving companies I spoke with before choosing Move you Wisely. The other moving companies sale approach was one of fear & speaking badly about Move you Wisely to get my business. Do not fall for that tactic. I believe they were the dishonest ones. I would 100% use Move you Wisely again and would refer them to my family, friends and business associates. I am very pleased with the final outcome. Mike contacted me by phone this morning to offer a resolution to my complaint about his company. He is reviewing my property & money I will charged. He has offered to "make things right". I am awaiting a resolution. I will follow up on the outcome ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do not use move you wisely their estimates are more than 100% less than the actual move prices. my property is now being held hostage in their warehouse in sherman oaks ca. on site movers were nice but the Company Business practices are fraudulent & dishonest. DOT#2920761 MC#984953 I measured all my items and listed my own inventory total cubic feet was max 627.8 cft @ $3.60 $2260.08 fuel incl. i had 1 bed, no appl,no living room furniture. I pd a dep $323.15, day of the move paid $827.85 bal $1109.08 upon delivery to my new home in colorado. After they loaded my property I was told I had more cubic ft which is impossible. I was then told that the interior of the truck was a certain cubic measurement, that was the only thing I did not measure I had to take their word for it. I was then told that now I had to pay for fuel. I was forced to give an additional check for $888.53. They then told me I would have to pay an additional $2487.62 on top of what I already paid to now get my property in Colorado. If I did not move my property by the 30 day free storage I was now going to be charged $450 a month thereafter. At the end of loading the truck the total went from $2151.00 to $4587.15 a 102% increase in the cost to move a 1 bed, I had no dining room, living room or appl furniture in my move, I had standard boxes & they did not have to pack anything. Even though my boxes had the cubic measurement printed on the sided from home depot, they said the measurement was wrong it was more how can that be??? My cubic measurement went from 600 to 1200 cubic feet after my property was on their truck. This moving company has taken advantage of me. I have filed a complaint today with the OIG/DOT inspector generals office in Washington DC DOT Rpt #170705-17 dated 7-5-2017, I have written a letter to the Attorney General for the State of CA, filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency in California and Washington DC for moving fraud against Move You Wisely in Sherman Oaks CA. This company is not trustworthy at all. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FIND A MORE REPUTABLE COMPANY!!!! If I had to do it over again, I would have a major moving company come in and estimate the move. This company does not send someone out to do an estimate and they rely on you to do the estimate and then inflate the price substantially. Most people are not trained to figure out cubic ft. The move was estimated at $4000 and ended up at $7000!!! We are storing our belongings for several months and the quote was initially $600/mo and now it's $750/mo. Very costly move. UPDATE!!!!! It has been 9 months that I have waited to be reimbursed for the damage they did on numerous items. I was told by Brendon that good ol Mike handled claims. I sent him a text two days ago and have not received a response. This company is shameful. If you want to save your money and avoid all the BS, do not use them. I have been waiting a month to be paid $180 for damages, which are pennies for the damage and missing boxes!!! Mike says he has sent now two checks, which I never received. They are horrible to deal with!!!! I will file complaints with the CA state attorney general and the BBB. read more

Damaged almost everything, they are a broker- be careful b/c they will tell you they are not, you don't here from them once they pick up your stuff so you just pray it arrives. Save yourself a little stress during a stressful time and choose somewhere else. read more

Excellant experience with this company. I've moved numerous times over the course of 30 year's and found them to make the experience a low stress one. Very knowledgable and efficient with moving my large apartment. The price quite was a little high, however there were no hidden fees and it was definitely worth the money.
