Toupin Construction was able to navigate and work alongside the requirements of the HOA while not disturbing the other owners in the building. They were very good with details, details that come with experience working in an HOA environment. For example, when it came time to shutting off the water, they made sure to follow CC&R's and bylaws in regards to proper procedures. Furthermore, when their was a small accidental bump to a neighbors deck, virtually no visible cosmetic damage, Toupin Construction notified the HOA immediately and remedied the situation. I was never even contacted by the HOA or the neighbor, which tells me the handled the situation with the upmost professionalism. Prior to hiring Toupin Construction, we got bids from two other contractors. Their prices were within 10-20%, one higher and one lower, but the quality of the materials were inferior. They didn't inspire confidence in working with an HOA. The finished product is beautiful, we couldn't ask for more. We are grateful that Toupin Construction was able to fit us in their schedule and travel the distance to Tiburon. Honestly, I think it was just good timing because I couldn't get any contractors to cross a bridge to get bid in the beginning. They were within budget, finished in time and didn't gauge us because of our address. Lastly, as a fellow business owner I appreciate professionalism, follow through and quality workmanship. This is exactly how Toupin Construction handled my kitchen remodel and we couldn't be happier.

The customer service was top-notch, and I left the call feeling way more informed and excited about the process. On top of that, the pricing from Luma Dwellings was significantly better than three or four other companies I've spoken to in the Bay Area. Not a week went by that I wasn't in tears. The lockbox was continuously changed due to employee termination. They take no pride in workmanship. Employees broke things without telling us. Many times we have to fix or complete a simple project on our own. Their most famous line is 'it's to code' which most often times a lie! Don't be fooled! And PLEASE get a second option. My neighbors scoffed at the timing of the project and the laziness of the employees when we were not around. Lies, deception and poor work ethic.
