I am visiting my brother and his family- I have two nieces and one nephew so I'm looking forward to seeing if they enjoy their first taste of homemade fudge. The owner was super helpful, they have lots of other offerings as well like old school candy and popcorn. I hope when spring comes around the foot traffic will help boost business. Once I get an idea of whether the kids liked it, I'll post an update.

He wanted one if the toys in the store. I was a few feet away getting candy. He started to take the toy off the shelf and the owner yelled at him. I walked over and noticed a sign on the display that said do not remove. I told her he can't read and waited for her to finish up with another customer. When she was finished she was VERY rude. I asked if she could get the toy for him since he isn't supposed to touch it. She ignored me and I said " he can't read your sign". She said parents should stay with their children, mind you, this is a tiny store and my son is well behaved. She then told me to get out. The google reviews back up my review. As I walked out a woman on the street told me she had a similar run in with this lady. It must be hard being that miserable. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN ON THIS STORE.

We ordered two wine flights, a burrata appetizer, and two panini sandwiches. We waited patiently for our wine which never came but we didn't say anything until our sandwiches came out. We told our server we also ordered burrata and he went around the corner then brought that out after the sandwiches. We caught him to also say our wine flights hadn't arrived. He assured us he'd bring it right out. Well that never happened. I realized my sandwich was not the one that was described on the menu. The servers were all over the place and never stopped long enough to look at us trying to flag them down. We were finally able to get someone's attention. We told him our wine still hadn't arrived. It had been around 35- 40 minutes at this point. He was less than happy to help. "Well how long have you been waiting?" A long time! We got our food first. Oh wait also this not the same sandwich from the menu. "Why, what's missing?" Everything but the bread and the chicken. "Okay I'll let the kitchen know." About 5 minutes later he drops the white wine flight off and doesn't bother telling me which one was what and left. Another minute or so went by and our initial server brought us the other wine flight and apologized. Okay rolling with the punches. We still haven't heard about the sandwich so I ate the burrata as my meal. They were kind enough to bring out crostini for the burrata when we asked. While finishing up the other server came over to ask everything was okay. Yeah it's okay, but the sandwich is still wrong. "Nobody ever came out?" Nope. It's okay though just take it off the bill. *picks up plate* "We don't quite do that". Well do you have a manager here? Can I talk to him. Explain to manager. "Sorry about that, what was missing from the sandwich?" *Exasperated* EVERYTHING. And our wine took forever to come out. "I know, I'm sorry. Let me go check on that" Comes back. "Okay I will take the sandwich off the bill". Two Stars: Wine was okay. Food was good. I understand it's a small mountain town, but C'mon!!!! And don't argue with the customer when you know your kitchen messed up. We'll see if this place survives long. PS: I still left a good tip because it's in my nature and bad reviews are not.

I was craving a homey coffee shop moment, something cabin-esque where you can relax without feeling rushed. Muddy Buck delivered. Comfy couches, warm wood vibes, and the kind of atmosphere that immediately makes you feel welcome. I did forget the book I meant to read, but that worked out because I ended up having a really lovely morning playing games with a friend instead. The coffee was solid, and the pastries were warm, soft, and pillowy. But the sleeper hit here is the Muddy Buck chocolate chip walnut cookie. Gooey, perfectly baked, and genuinely memorable. One of those cookies you keep thinking about later. If you're in Evergreen and want a cozy, relaxed coffee shop where you can actually sit and enjoy your time, this is the spot.

Very torn on the Muddy Buck - it didn't live up to my expectations…read more The good: 1) The ambiance! They have the mountain town atmosphere and decor down. The seating is a fun mix of tables and comfy couches, plus outside patio seating. There is a selection of board and card games available, and a slightly tucked away book for those who want some privacy (as I did on my morning visit, to take a work call). 2) The chocolate chip walnut cookies are SO good! Definitely get it warmed up. 3) Free wifi. The less good: 1) Given they roast their own coffee I had high expectations on the taste of my latte but it was just okay, nothing standout. 2) The cinnamon rolls are another thing the Muddy Buck is known for and maybe I just got one from a day-old / less fresh batch but it wasn't that great. The edges were crispy - not sure if that's intentional - I prefer my cinnamon rolls soft & pillowy. 3) The service is hit-or-miss and their overall workflow needs some adjusting. After most orders the cashier would walk away and tell the next person in line they'll be with them in just a few minutes, even if it wasn't that busy. When I got my Italian soda, I didn't get my cookie - I was told they were still working on it (it was in the display case) - yet my friend who ordered after me got her soda and cookie at the same time. I had to go up again to ask for it. 4) They're inconsistent with their use of disposable vs reusable packaging. My latte was in a to-go cup despite dining in and plenty of reusable mugs hanging there. Cinnamon roll came on a plate. Italian soda was a to-go cup. Cookie was in a to-go bag. They have both reusable and disposable silverware. Some adjustments are needed IMO.
