I am a sucker for a good cocktail bar. The fact they offer bao buns was enough for us to stop in…read more The baos come in mushroom or duck, in a flight of 3. We ordered the duck. All you could taste was the hoisin. So sweet it buried the duck and the pickled vegetables. Why was it garnished with random lettuce? Who knows? The heavy-handed hoisin was bad, but the buns' lack of fluffiness was downright depressing. The cocktails were a blast. The one mocktail was a hit. The tiki-themed Portal, served in a poisoned-apple mug, was fun. The espresso martini was the highlight of the night. I could have used 40oz of it. Recommend the drinks. Skip the bao.

The music over the speakers was unfamiliar but good and not too loud. Very peaceful setting! The indoor seating area is large with high ceilings and warm wood with flattering lighting. The outdoor seating area is also large and people were seated with plenty of space between since it wasn't crowded on a Wednesday at 5pm. Our server was new and very conscientious - she did great! The wedge salad was not doused with bacon the way many restaurants serve it, which is a plus, and the vegetarian side salad consists of two large leaves of butter leaf lettuce, sprinkled with fresh herbs and small fresh peppers. The house red wine vinaigrette is superb. The pasta in the mushroom lasagna was fried somehow, but it was nicely done and the mushrooms were exceptionally flavorful. It was the only vegetarian entree, and it was beautifully made and presented. The desserts looked amazing, but we were passing through so decided to skip it this time. It's a really lovely place and we will definitely stop again the next time we are passing through!

Our server was friendly but appeared to be the only person working. The menu was limited, and the prices were exceptionally high. I ordered a mint-thyme drink from the nonalcoholic menu, but it tasted like sharp, tangy pineapple and lime juice, with no noticeable mint or thyme. When I mentioned that I thought I had received the wrong drink, the server replied, "We hear that often--that it tastes like just pineapple juice." For dinner, I ordered the trout. It was good, but the portion was ridiculously small for the price. Our group quickly understood why the restaurant was nearly empty on a Saturday night. In today's economy, restaurants need to offer prices people can reasonably afford and portions that leave diners feeling satisfied.

I really missed those beet tacos!! I think the bar is super cute, cozy, dim. The staff is attentive and fun. Will be back soon!!

Our server was very informative about their cheeses and we ordered the cabrales, chorizo iberico, pan y picos, and pan con tomate with jamon Serrano. The pan con tomate was my favorite dish! The tomatoes were so flavorful and the bread was absolutely delicious. The jamon was just like what I've had in Spain and it was an overall great experience. We also ordered sherry and Spanish vermut. I love Spanish vermut but Sherry is definitely a drink you have to be in the mood for but was fun to give it a try. This is definitely a cute upcoming place in town.

The squid was fine, but there was too much puffed rice which was hard and crunchy in the salad. On the other hand, short rib and trout had great flavor, infusing Thai with European/American staples. I'd say I wasn't as impressed by the half roasted chicken as it wasn't as flavorful as I would've hoped. (Pro Tip: Any type of dancing is a huge plus if you're trying to stay sane! Just go for it!) This place is an escape and a joy as we live through this dark, scary time in history. (Full disclosure, at one point, there was an openly critical woman dancing next to me as I stumbled along but do I think this place is responsible for one grump's tacky behavior? Did I let her ruin my fun? Nope and nope. 95% of the people were awesome to me, it's just math).

The salad a pizza were enough for two with a solid amount left to take home. I have the raspberry Collins made with gin. I could taste fresh raspberry, and the soda did not drown out the gin flavor.
