Disappointing Experience at the Dealership I wanted to express my disappointment with my visit to Mtn View Hyundai dealership, as I felt it was a waste of my time. I spoke with Lyn (a general manager) yesterday, I was very clear about the offers I had received from other dealerships on my vehicle. She assured me that she could significantly beat the offers that I had received. I specifically mentioned that I did not want to come in unless that was the case. She also stated that there was an interested buyer for my vehicle and that a deal could certainly be made for a new Elantra around the price point I was looking for. However, when I arrived, the offer presented to me was thousands of dollars less than what was discussed. My vehicle is like new and they did not have any negative remarks that would affect the price. Additionally, they tried to upsell me on the same Elantra that I was interested in. It was priced $2,000 higher than the online listing (excluding fees) and I was told that they were helping me out by not charging me $5,000 grand over list price. Lyn also assured me that the appraisal process would be quick, taking no more than 10 minutes, yet that was not the case (over an hour). Overall, the information I was provided was misleading and was a tactic simply to get me into the dealership. I had previously heard negative feedback about this location but wanted to give it a fair chance. Unfortunately, my experience reinforced those concerns, and as a result, I cannot recommend this dealership to others. That said, I do want to acknowledge the new sales associate who assisted me--he was professional and pleasant to work with, which was the one positive takeaway from my visit. Bought a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe sale person very nice. Notice within a few hundred miles short in license plate lights. When we dropped the car off on 1-8-24 at 5:30 pm service rude as if it was our problem. When picked up the car on 1-9-24 the service person said it was after market lights so not covered. How do aftermarket license plates lights get on a car which was only owned by the dealership. But once again rude service personnel, had to get store manager to approve replace bulbs. Evening service personnel are rude. Will go to the Hyundai dealer in Hixon before coming back here. Came in around 5:15pm. After the tech went to management the work was done. Searched high and low for a new ride and ran into some great and not so great dealerships. Settled on a used Toyota Highlander at Mtn. View Hyundai. Johnathon was friendly, easy to work, and bent over backwards to help us with our decision. We weren't bombarded with every sales manager in the building. THAT was awesome!! I had text and spoke to a salesperson this week on negotiate a price on a vehicle. We had settled on a price then I was told that the vehicle had been in a wreck and they couldn't offer me our agreed upon price. It was considered a used vehicle now. But he said they had a similar vehicle that he could sell me for $500 more. I text that I was ready to make it happen. I left my daughter's college game to make this deal happen. Drove there and was told that they decided they couldn't make the deal happen and he just didn't get around to tell me. I missed her ballgame for nothing. I feel like they just tried to get me down there and sell me something else. Questioning them on their pricing and I got different answers from different people. Only giving 1 star because I have to. Sales team is super friendly and good at their jobs - take that for what it's worth. Finance team however will try to manipulate the deal after a sale price is agreed upon, speak to you as if they don't care if they lose your business or not, and imply everything is your shortcoming when a deal falls through - THREE weeks after you drive the car off the lot. We were promised minor repairs (windshield replacement and a brake job) at the sale. Three weeks later... we were still waiting. Then suddenly after we discovered through a third party service center that there was $3000 worth of hidden damage to the vehicle and the tires were not even close to being road worthy, we were informed at that point that the loan mysteriously did not go through for my daughter's car. When I spoke to the lender, they said they never received what was needed from the dealership to finalize the sale. The dealership then opted, from a manager hiding in a back room who wouldn't even come speak to us face to face, to take the car back and "send it to auction" because they "made a mistake and should not have put the car on the lot for sale". They also claimed to be ignorant of the used car's history or mechanical/structural issues, but we found a full packet of records and receipts for ALL issues, in the glove box of the car when we cleaned out my daughter's belongings. All previous repairs fully documented but not reported to Carfax. All documents fully accessible by the dealership upon trade. They were very much aware and sold it to us anyway. Then did absolutely nothing to make it right. We turned over the car and have to now wait for the down payment return to process so we can buy my daughter another car. After THREE WEEKS of having this one in our possession. read more

My husband and I received a letter stating they wanted to buy back my car on several occasions. We where given an offer and once we arrive at dealership they lowered the offer by several thousand and sales manager was very unprofessional. I do not recommend to anyone read more

I would give -1 star but I can't go that low...if you want to drive to a dealer to see a car they sold several days ago but told you they had in stock then this is the dealer for you!! Luckily they had another similar vehicle in stock! Unfortunately they offered me $3500 less for my trade in than there sister store (man view Nissan) offered me three months ago...even more lucky for me the sales manager told me he was already selling the vehicle that they had purchased from a rental car company for "almost two thousand less than they gave for it"...so just to recap if you do happen to drive down there take a big bottle of Vaseline with you! So my family is purchasing a van from here and when I drove it home from the car lot and as soon as I pulled in the driveway it overheated. I got a mechanic to run a diagnostic test on it and it needs a new fan control module. I ask them to reimburse me for the part ($189.84) and I would pay to have it installed and they said no. Life lesson learned always bring a mechanic with you when you by a used car. Even if they have a big name! While the mechanic was changing the fan and fan control module he found that the cables to the fan control module had been cut and wires wired in to the frame. read more

Well, I am saddened to report that the 2013 Elantra that I recently purchased (11/25/19) from #mtnviewhyundai, which had a "clean CarFax", has in fact been wrecked and has a salvage headlight and an aftermarket hood on it. Also, the front end is bent causing the hood to rub against the headlight assembly, which has caused moisture to begin to build up inside the assembly. This was confirmed on 12/09/19 by my local body shop and my mechanic. Now, I will be forced to have the front end repaired and headlight assembly replaced costing an estimated $1000 for parts and labor just 3 weeks (to the day) after I purchased it. When I stopped by the dealership on 12/09/19 to sign some additional paperwork, I explained my dilemma to the finance gentleman and asked who I needed to talk to. The sympathy I got was patronizing at best, and he happily took me to the parts department to get a price on replacement parts. I had to laugh as I walked out the door after hearing the cost of a single headlight assembly was estimated at just over $600. I was just told that both headlight assemblies must be replaced. Now, I realize that I bought a used car as-is, paid the extra cost for a 2yr/30k power train service agreement, and I obviously overlooked this issue, but beware of dealerships that will not allow you to take a car to a trusted mechanic for inspection when test driving before purchasing. Don't walk... run away as fast as you can! And, never take for granted that the CarFax is accurate. I heard great things about Mtn View in Ringgold from friends and trusted Mtn View CDJR when purchasing a used Honda Accord for my wife last year. I am very happy with my experience at the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram dealership, but Mtn. View Hyundai is a different story. read more

Normally I don't bother to leave reviews, however my terrible experience warrants this one. I went to a hyundai dealer because I assumed they would be the best to assess and address my car's issue. They told me "well a diagnostic would take hours and we'd have to charge you for it." After waiting for 4 hours and then them putting in a part I had already gotten replaced a month or two prior, and ignoring me telling them that wasn't the issue--sure enough I drove off and my car was the exact same. I have a friend who works there who told me EXACTLY what the issue was and the service tech wouldn't hear it, instead insisting to me it was a brake switch (which I'd already gotten replaced). I went on amazon, bought a $40 part I actually needed and figured out how to fix it myself. Save yourself some time and money and go elsewhere. read more

This dealership tried to undervalue my trade several thousand dollars. Had to play this game back and fourth for an hour or so until they agreed to give me the cars value or at least pay it off. When doing paperwork they messed up my gap coverage and when I finally took it off and said I didn't want to fool with it anymore I was treated poorly. As well as talked about through the window that I could see them through. The only reason I bought the car from them is because they had the one I wanted and I felt it was priced at a good price. The salesperson did not go over any details about the car whatsoever. The finance manager also tried to pull over fast ones. Good thing I am also in the car business or I would have gotten ripped off. And the car I bought was on E and they let me leave with the car on E!! That was unprofessional I have never been to a dealership that does not fill up their customers new car! read more
