We have boarded our Golden here many, many times. He is a strong, healthy boy (not on any meds) and is super happy when we pick him up. He does get a little smelly. We don't get much communication but they are starting to post pictures to a Google photo album. They have had issues with people not paying in the past so they are now cash or check only and have an ATM on site. Hopefully they will add website payment at some point. We boarded with a kennel in Oregon that was highly recommended by our breeder and got even less communication but our pup was fine so perhaps that is the norm for busy places. read more

Do not board your dogs here!! They lack communication! First and foremost, worried pet owners will want to check in and get a reply about how their dog is doing! Especially an anxious one on medication! I got one response in the two weeks our dog was boarded there. Arguably the worst situation, is that upon picking my dog up, she had hair loss and skin lesions under her belly and thigh and on her neck, one actively oozing!! She was filthy, her bedding looked like it was left outside for the 2 weeks! Maybe she was too! I am so upset that I left my dog there, after having to pay $1050, and now vet costs, I cannot recommend this place. We have been coming here for a few years, never again! I hate writing bad reviews and really debated writing this for quite a while now. We initially chose this place for our large dog after reading all the raving reviews and seeing that it had a wonderful rating we thought we would give it a try. We had researched for weeks and this one seemed like the best fit. We were leaving our dog for a week and wanted him to be happy while we were gone since he's got some separation anxiety. Here he would have other dogs to play with and get to be outside to run around as well as having a heated room to stay in at night with his own personal stuff. We took a tour before leaving our dog and everything was good. Everyone there was super nice, very much loved dogs and there were multiple places for the dogs to be outside together or separate if they didn't do well with others. I was even told to bring personal items for our pup so he would feel comfortable. The day came to drop him off and we brought his big cozy bed, the remainder of his food and a new toy that we purchased for him so he would have something that was his. It started off good, we received pictures right away the first day we asked for them. A couple days later I requested more and no one answered. I waited all day until the next evening and e-mailed a second time. Finally got a response with a few more pictures and an apology that they were busy. Thinking things were going well and my dog was having a good time I finished out my trip and figured I would see him in a few days. The day we picked him up he had lost a ton of weight, had little energy and looked sad. His food should have been gone but there was still quite a bit in there. I was told that he wouldn't eat unless someone was there and he cried all night and didn't sleep either. This broke my heart! Why didn't someone sit with him for a few minutes so he could eat? There is a ton of staff at this place. I was then handed a blanket and asked if it was his....nope he had a big Costco bed. I guess they decided to give it to another dog for the week to lay on. There were jokes made between the workers on how that dog does that, just takes over other dogs beds. I was under the impression when I took the tour that his bed and toy would be in his room with him but it was nowhere near where he was kept. I asked where his new toy was and they had to find that also. When I was handed the toy it was all chewed up and covered in long white hair....my dog has short brown hair. It took almost a week to get my pup back to his normal spunky self again. He had lost almost 20 lbs when we took him to the vet that week. So many red flags, I would never leave any of my dogs there. We paid quite a bit of money for his stay and never expected an experience like this. I was hoping to have the same amazing experience that everyone else seems to have. read more

Please do NOT trust Mountain View Dog Ranch with your dog/s. Mountain View Dog Ranch lack's communication, integrity, professionalism, cleanliness and training. We entrusted Mountain View Dog Ranch to care for our dog, Chloe for twelve nights and it was a horrible experience. Upon dropping our dog off we were informed that our dog would be staying with Christine (the first red house located directly across the boarding facility) because our dog was considered a "house dog". This made me feel very uneasy as we have never toured the home. When we asked to tour the home, we were told that Christine was out to lunch... We only toured the boarding facility and thought our dog would be in the facility and NOT in someone's house! On Dec 15th, I emailed them to get an update on how my dog was doing. I received an update stating that my dog got sick on the 14th and vomited twice due to eating dirt. On the 18th, I emailed again to get an update. I received an updated on the 19th stating that my dog continued to vomit on the 16th and asked me if it was okay to give my dog "enticers" to encourage eating. In this same email they stated "A couple of the pups in her (Christine's) house had tummy issues". I responded immediately with questions regarding my dog's illness and asked them to keep me informed. In this same email I expressed frustration that the last time I trusted them with my dog (2021) she came home with pink eye. On the 20th, I reached out again for an update. I received an update stating that my dog continued to vomit on the 19th. And that there were a few dogs sick prior to my dog getting sick. So drinking out of muddy puddles was NOT the issue! Mountain View Dog Ranch failed to take necessary precautions to keep the ill dogs from spreading their illness. They also failed to let me know that my dog would be in a home with sick dogs. We paid money for services advertised - "your dog get their own private room which is heated for everyone's comfort". Our dog did not get her own room. On the 21st, seven days after the illness started! I received an email stating that they finally gave my dog chicken, rice and probiotics. Mountain View Dog Ranch failed to give my dog proper care during her illness. On the 22nd at 8:30a, we picked up Chloe. Christine came out and rudely stated, "can you not come in the gate when there are dogs running around". This was a scheduled pick up. Mountain View was aware of our arrival time. Why were there dogs running loose on the property? Christine was rude and unprofessional. As soon as we got home I noticed that our dog had pink eye. I emailed Mountain View Dog Ranch immediately. We have yet to hear from them. Why didn't they let me know that my dog had pink eye :( Per the vet, my dog lost 2lbs while she was boarded (we saw the vet a couple days before boarding for a fecal test so they were able to compare her weight). Again, we trusted this well rated facility to provide reasonably prudent care. They did NOT do that. I feel terrible that I left my dog with Mountain View. Please do not make the same mistake. LOVE THIS PLACE!!! We own a husky, which if you don't know, means endless amounts of energy and attitude toward everything. Finding Mountain View Dog Ranch was one of the best things my husband and I did. This place has tons of room for our pup to run and several other dogs he can play with for hours. I also love that they focus on dogs playing with dogs rather than give them a bunch of toys to fight over. Our dog can get territorial over toys, and it is nice to be able to leave him at a place that eliminates the potential for those issues. When he comes home he is so tired after a full day of play that he sleeps for two days. He loves it so much that we can't even say the word "daycare" at home, because our dog will start whining and go sit by the door. We have also boarded him there on occasion in the last 2 years, and they love him when we can't. Reasonably priced too!! read more

I would like to give a great recommendation for Mountain View Dog Ranch in Snohomish. We boarded our Border Collie Furly there for one week in late October and it was a very good experience for her! The staff was very friendly and they're very attentive to the dogs. They take an interest in every dog and took time to talk to us about Furly and answer our questions when we picked her up. There are fenced areas in the country setting that allow the dogs to run and hang out. The dogs are monitored by staff and get a good amount of time in the areas throughout the day. There are also dog walks for dogs that aren't comfortable in groups. We were pleasantly surprised that Furly was able to handle hanging out with other dogs. Thanks Mt. View for giving that a try! Every day Mountain View posts lots of pictures and some videos of the dogs and we looked forward to seeing how Furly was doing while we were traveling. Having never boarded my dogs before, it was rather daunting to sort through a number in the area, looking for the best fit. Mountain View came to the top of the list after talking with Kris about what they offered and how they support each pup according to their particular needs or style (play groups, individual walks, bunking with their siblings or alone, etc.). They have a very large and very well maintained outdoor facility, which is well-fenced, a number of 'wranglers' who are watching out for your pup in play groups, leading them, playing ball, watching for specific behaviors, grouping the dogs by size, attitude and style of play. Everything was fresh and clean on the visit and when I dropped off and picked up my pups. They have a CCTV system and staff that live on site as well, which calmed me greatly! I visited three different kennels before making my decision on Mountain View and that was based not only on visiting them, but in reading through their questionnaire, it becomes apparent how much effort they put into making your pup successful (play style, ability to scale fences, allergies, treats, etc.). I wanted my pups to have a good time, be outside as much as possible and play with other dogs while being safe at night in their individually secured kennel - they definitely had their own vacation there! Finding someone to watch a large dog is always a challenge. Stumbled across this business and saw all of the good ratings that we decided to give it a shot for a weekend trip. The owners know what they're doing and put a lot of attention and care into the ranch. We were able to bring our dog to check out the place prior to boarding where they gave us a tour. HUGE space by the way and so much more comforting to know my big dog will be running around instead of sitting cooped in a crate like many other dog boarding facilities. They check that your dog has updated vaccines and a good fecal test..which one other dog boarding place I checked out didn't ask for it (which makes me wonder what my dog could catch from staying there). When I came to pick up my dog, he was happy! I live in Renton so the ranch is quite a drive for me, but it's soooo worth it to have a piece of mind knowing my little baby is going to be well cared for here. read more

Hands down the best dog care facility in the greater Seattle area. We've been using them since they opened and are on our dog2 that we board here when traveling out of town. The caring owner, the plush facilities, off leash areas and woods, the elaborate care setup that accommodates over 100 dogs (!) at a time is nothing short of a miracle. They have great established rules for pickup and drop off, so that they can safely take care of all their visitors without disturbance. And they do provide awesome care indeed - multiple outside play times, separating dogs into groups based on size, personalities, preferences; keeping their facilities super clean, warm and comfortable; they even take pups that are anxious into their homes if needed to minimize the stress on them without an extra charge that it in reality deserves. I don't know many facilities that are able to provide this type of personalized care. Could dogs get health issues from other dogs? Yes. Could their dog bed and toys get trashed? Sure, but that's a risk we, the dog owners, all take when boarding our pets. We haven't had health problems with our pups staying there in the last 10+ years, but are fully aware that in a facility with 100+ dogs it can happen. Complaining about the facility maliciously causing GI issues or a pink eye is just petty. Luckily majority of their customers know what a gem they found and the 5* reviews reflect it. read more

We became dog owners, again back in September 2020. One of the more important issues for our family was who would watch our dog when we vacation with out him. I have been using Mountain View since I moved here in 2018. I took a chance by asking for recommendations on the Next Door App and Mountain View had the most votes. My dogs always come home happy and they have never gotten sick here. I appreciate their strict standards for boarding such as required fecal testing. They monitor the dogs constantly and adjust boarding situations if needed. One of my dogs has Mast cell cancer and if he isn't feeling well he can be a bit snippy. Our neighbor down the street who operated dog boarding unfortunately moved East so we were forced to find another place and we were worried about not being able to find a place for our breeds (Boerboel Mastiff & AM Staffordshire bull terrier) she recommended this boarding facility. Wow! What a great place. I was nervous boarding our three dogs for the first time as they've never been boarded before. Two of our dogs are rescues and we worried they would think we were taking them back to the shelter going into a kennel. The Meet n' Greet was awesome! Eli showed us around while our dogs got to sniff/run around the smaller fenced in area. The "kennels" are more like rooms and they're so nice! When I dropped them off for boarding the dogs were happy and excited. They went into the large fenced in area and started running around. I don't think they even realized I left. We loved looking at pictures of them out and playing with the other dogs there while we were away! Every other boarding facility we looked into charged extra daily for walks or play time- basically for your dog to be a dog and not locked in a kennel all day. We love that they don't charge extra for that here. In the pictures we saw of our dogs we could tell they were having so much fun. It's like they had a vacation while we were on vacation. When we picked them up they were so happy and calm. Our dogs have tons of energy so we can tell they definitely had lots of play time. It was nice hearing about how well they did when we picked them up too! Whenever we have to board our dogs again we will definitely board them at Mountain View Dog Ranch. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Zuzi and her team at Mountain View. My dogs are my kids and leaving them anywhere for the first time in 6 years was a huge deal for me. I have 2 male pugs who are unaltered and needed to be boarded for about 3.5 weeks while I went over seas on vacation. After doing extensive and I mean EXTENSIVE research on several different facilities from Seattle to Woodinville to Bothell, I chose Mountain View based on many positive facebook comments and yelp. Zuzi and her team were very responsive via emails to my 1001 questions and concerns. The huge thing for me was to make sure my guys were going to have fun and be active while I was away and not just locked up all day or have to pay an arm and a leg for simple things like a walk or a little play session around in the yard. Other highly rated facilities were charging anywhere from $15+ for a 10 minute walk or some other insane amount! Zuzi keeps these guys active! Yes, primarily online you will see people rave about their larger breed dogs and etc, but when I did my initial tour of the facility I was SHOCKED to see how amazingly clean it was and how many different types of breeds of dogs there was! From small to large, to puppy to old!! Not a bad smell in the area and it was PACKED with dogs from the New Years weekend!! Every single room had dogs boarding and it was just spotless without a odor in the air. That moment I KNEW I had to book with this place ASAP! My guys shared a room the time they were together in the building next to the main building, and they pretty much loved it. Zuzi and her staff administered their allergy pills along with their other medication perfectly. She also kept me updated on how they were doing while I was gone. They took them on walks several times a day and played with them frequently, they loved it and I'm pretty sure they were sad to come home! Being unaltered and also myself being afraid of them playing with larger dogs, Zuzi kept them privately entertained and would take them out separately to play! My wife and I were planning a trip that would require our at the time 4 month old female Lab, Coco, to be boarded I did some research and found Mountain View Dog Ranch. I was impressed by the fact that they required quite a bit of information about our dog like shot status and required a clear fecal test which she is current and free of any parisites. Zuzi also encouraged a prestay meet so we could get to see the facility and they could see her interactions with other dogs. We were impressed with how clean and the space that the dogs had for their stay and there's ample fenced yard for outdoor activities. Zuzi let some of her current dogs interact with Coco who being a puppy hasn't had a lot of socializing with other dogs so it was interesting how she seemed a little bit intimidated with other dogs. But things turned out alright and while we were on our trip Zuzi sent pictures of Coco playing with other dogs so she seems to have made progress with her social skills . Mountain View deserves more than five stars. I was very anxious about boarding our Aussie, knowing that he has separation anxiety and can be reactive to other dogs. I couldn't imagine having to leave him in a kennel with dogs barking all around, wondering why his family left him. I dropped him off at Mountain View and immediately felt peace about him staying there while we were on vacation. The area is beautiful, clean, and Zuzi and the other staff communicated very effectively to make sure all the other dogs were in the right place before having our dog come out of the car. The "kennels" don't feel like kennels at all, they are large and clean, as is the space the dogs get to run in. I feared my dog would have to be kept separate from other dogs, but Zuzi was able to find multiple dog friends for him and it feels like he is away at summer camp. The price is a deal, especially considering there aren't a bunch of ad ons (such as having to pay for a walk or a treat). Zuzi is willing to give updates and pictures so that I can relax, knowing my beast is enjoying himself as well Even if you don't live too close (we're about an hour away) it's a beautiful drive and well worth knowing that my little monster is safe and having a blast! read more

Our dog was anxious when we dropped him off, and everyone on the team took good care of him (and me!) during the hand off. They assured us that they would help him acclimate and could be flexible with their approach to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. They sent us a very reassuring picture of him with the pack in response to our mid-trip inquiry, and he came back to us happy and clearly well cared for. Mountain View is an amazing place. It's clean and reliable to communicate with via email, which works best for us while traveling. We've been boarding our dog there for 4 years, anywhere from 5-21 days at a time while we are on vacation. The dogs have private "rooms" instead of crates or cages, spend tons of time outside in fenced play areas and are taken on off-leash walks through fenced wooded areas. With your permission, the dogs are socialized in packs and always carefully supervised. Our dog got into a scuffle one time and we were immediately informed in a professional manner. No blame was placed on either dog, and both walked away with minor injuries that were reviewed by a vet. These things happen, and our dog was given solo care and attention for the remainder of the trip-- both to protect his injuries and to make sure he was looked after emotionally and for the safety of all the dogs. We are so glad to have found a place to trust in looking after our dog. There is a discount available if you board multiple dogs together from one household or if the dogs are established as friends. Need a place for Fido while you are on vacation? This is it! It was our dog's first time being boarded while we are gone and for cost reasons we were considering having him stay at the local vet. Just to look at the options we went to tour Mountain View and were sold! It was a bit more expensive - but comparable to other kennels, etc that focus just on dogs. Mark and Zuzi are a husband and wife team who own and run the place - they are very friendly and you can tell they care about the Pups they are taking care of! They have converted a horse barn into private rooms for dogs so each "guest" has his or her own large area to eat in and sleep in at night - if you have more than one dog they can share the room though. You bring your dogs own food- but they can provide bedding (I wish we had done that as our dog played so much and got so dirty his bedding needed to be washed right away when we got it home!) Dogs spend the day playing outside (and inside) with someone watching them all the time. There are two large areas for running around, group play, fetch, etc that are fenced in so you dog will be safe. We were a tad worried about how our dog would do because he is a rescue and quite shy - but when we went to tour the place he warmed up some to Mark and by the time we got back from vacation he was pals with Mark, Zuzi and the other dogs! I swear he was romping around smiling when we picked him up! Our dog is exhausted after his time at the ranch - but I know this is because he was getting so much exercise and having so much fun! I love that Mountain View will give supplements and medication at no extra charge and that they are willing to work with guests who follow a more conservative vaccination program - as our dog's naturopathic vet recommends. Also they aren't a mega kennel with 50+ dogs - I believe it was a busy week when our guy was there and they had 25 dogs - but typically they have fewer than that - so lot's of individual attention. Last but not least they gave our guy a bath before we picked him up - I guess he had gotten quite dirty while playing so much :) Humans and canines will be happy with the services at Mountain View Dog Ranch! read more

I don't normally write reviews, but I was so happy with Mountain View dog Ranch that I had to do so. The grounds are well fenced and lovely. The rooms where the dogs sleep look like the inside of a spa - though it sounds like they didn't spend much time in them. They get to play outside in the woods, and go on walks, and play with the other dogs and the people who work there. You know dog people when you see them, and Zuzi and her staff obviously love dogs. And the dogs love them back, I have to admit I was a bit jealous when I went to pick him up. I was excited that he would be able to run around off leash. That isn't something he normally gets to do, because he can escape from anything lower than a 6 foot fence. When I got there they took me on a tour, and I could see how safe he would be. They were careful to very slowly introduce him to other dogs, to make sure he would get along and not be picked on because of his submissive temperament. They also stress that they never leave the dogs together alone. He loved it there so much, I plan on bringing him back to visit and stay a while even if I don't need to. Their pricing is more than reasonable, and unlike other places I have been they did not charge extra for cuddle time or playtime or for going on walks. Also, even though he was outside a lot of the day, and the weather wasn't perfect, he seems to have come home cleaner than when he left. I suspect that they washed him and gave him a good brushing, but they never mentioned it. Another thing to note, if your dog tends to get stressed at other boarding places, this place is extremely quiet. Even though there were quite a few dogs when I went to drop mine off and pick him up, none of them were barking. I suspect they were tired from all the playtime. (Don't worry if your dog is old and doesn't like playtime, I noticed they had a little area where the quiet dogs could lounge together, or they could always stay in their rooms.) After having a horrible experience with our previous boarder, we were looking for a new alternative. Our labradoodle (Lucy) needs to run and play, and now that she has a bad hip, it's important to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't overexert herself. After two stays, I can say that Mountain View has a great setup and is perfect for those of you looking for a "go outside and play" atmosphere. Lucy always comes back tired and happy. We even got some youtube videos of her playing while we were away. With stays of 10+ days, it really is nice to know your family member is enjoying life without you. The cost is comparable to other kennels, but they have really put some work into the place lately. The dog barn has had some major renovations (Saw the improvements over a 4 month time period) and the kennels are a very nice size. There are two run areas, and the property is double gated. As luck (or bad luck rather) would have it, both our vacations had delayed flights which meant we wouldn't be able to pick up Lucy on the original date. Absolutely no problem for Mark and Zuzi! The location may be a little out of the way but it is worth it. We drive 45 minutes and I would easily double that to make sure my dog was taken care of properly. read more

I was looking for a place to board my dalmatian, Jules, for a few nights and was very glad to discover Mountain View Dog Ranch. I liked it for several reasons: --There is plenty of room for the dogs to run and play off leash --The property is double gated --Plenty of other dogs to play and socialize with --The sleeping area has ambient heating in the floors and is clean and comfortable --Most importantly, Mark and Zuzi love dogs and are attentive to their every need. I usually feel guilty about leaving Jules when I travel. But after her first stay with Mark and Zuzi, I won't have that feeling in the future. This place is like summer camp for dogs. read more

We've boarded our dogs at the ranch for the past 4 years and they are always so excited to spend time there! I appreciate how on top of it the staff are and that the facility requires fecal checks (I've been to other places where this wasn't a requirement and now that I know more, it makes me nervous that other places don't prioritize this). Our dogs are always tired when we pick them up which is fantastic! We have some high needs dogs who can't socialize with other dogs very much and I really love how Zuzi and the staff know their personalities and what they can handle. They've always been very accommodating and I never feel guilty about having to leave them. We love the ranch! read more

I can not say enough great things about this business! Zuzi is the dog whisperer and my 3 girls are always happy to go and glamp in their heated bungalow. We were gone for a week in Maui and dropped the gals off , they all were happy to see us but, not as ecstatic as I've seen before when I have picked them up from other spots. I love how the dogs run free in the fenced in area but, also have their alone time as well. It feels great to have piece of mind about your pets when you leave. This is the only place we'll leave our dog. Great space for pups to run around and play outside. Kennels are pretty spacious and dogs get lots of opportunities to be out and about. Staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. read more

Dogs seemed happy and we have no complaints. We have a 4 month old puppy and a 2.5 year old. Both are French bulldogs. I liked how often they let the dogs out to play with no extra charge. Most places charge extra for additional activities. I believe it is Around 5 times a day for an hour. Keeps dogs tired, so there anxiety stays low. Just remind them to send updates daily. read more

Zuzi has kept our pup several times in the last year since he was a baby and I can honestly say he loves her! Nicole is also always great to us. These ladies love the dogs. I took my little shy foster Chihuahua mix here while we went on vacation for a week, and he seemed to thrive there! when I came to pick him up he was outside with all shapes and sizes of dogs and they were all having fun sniffing and playing around together. He got his own room to sleep in and hang out when tired, and I brought his beds and play toys for him to furnish his room like home. It is a long drive from Seattle, but so worth the peace of mind. He's going back there in a few weeks for another long stay and I know he will be so well cared for! thank you Zuzi! read more
