My wife and I have been training our puppy with Kim since November. Our dogs name is Redford and he is currently a 6 month old Goldendoodle. We were really excited to get our first puppy but we did not realize all the headaches that were to come. A month or so in, I was at Pet Pros in Lake Stevens buying a muzzle for my puppy because he would not stop biting my wife. The clerk suggested that rather than use the muzzle begin working with a trainer. She handed me Kim's card. Kim has been a great trainer. The constant nipping has become a thing of the past. Redford knows over a dozen commands. Whether he listens or not is something we are still working on :-), but he is only 6 months old. Incredible! Additionally, my favorite thing about Lake Stevens K9 Academy LLC is that I am able to board my puppy with Kim. Redford loves his "playdates". So it gives me peace of mind when I'm away from him because I know he is in a place he loves and that he's in great hands. Thanks Kim! Nathaniel and Brittany Van Duine read more

We have been working with Kim at Lake Stevens K9 Academy since 2021. We enrolled our energetic Belgian Tervuren in a few puppy classes and he eventually completed his Canine Good Citizen test. It was a great way for him to be socialized and learn good manners. The classes were very low key and practical. We have continued to work with Kim and her team with dog boarding during our vacations and occasionally home drop ins when we have to work long hours. There's no one else we trust more! They always have great attention to detail and treat our dogs like family. We also have an elderly German Shepherd with reactivity and she does great with Kim as well. Highly recommend! read more

Kim and team has helped us with our rescue dog and again with our puppy. their patience helped us help our rescue with being reactive and worked with us to help him be in public spaces and around other dogs without the same level of stress and aggression. our puppy has benefited greatly from the group classes where basic manners are taught in a way that is easy to understand and allowed us to bring those lessons home and use their methods to reinforce the classroom training! Kim and team have been wonderful!! read more

Is 5 stars even enough?! Kim is such an amazing soul and phenomenal trainer. I have had the pleasure of taking various pups to be cared for by Kim and have learned various techniques to effectively train and connect with our pups. I text Kim for general advice regarding the health of our pups including what to ask for vet when we have concerns. I appreciate how direct yet nurturing person that Kim is and all our pups have always enjoyed themselves. read more

No follow through. Doesn't respond to calls or texts. Finally had a set time to call her and told if she didn't pick up she'd call me right back. Never did call me back. I gave up and moved on to a different trainer. Week or so later she reached out via text and I chose not to respond. read more

I took my dog Sammy to Kimberly, Lake Stevens K9 academy for some 1 on 1 training. Kimberly definitely knows her stuff! Sammy is a stubborn dog & she had him listening & behaving instantly. Gave me lots of pointers to make him easier to handle in public situations. She knows her stuff! 10/10 recommend read more

Extremely effective training. I won't take my dog anywhere else. I had an obnoxious German Shepherd and now he is so well behaved!

I've been using Lake Stevens K9 for 2 years now for both training and doggy day care, I am so impressed by her teaching team. My Mia started with puppy training back in 2022 and just finished her AKA CGC certification. Mia is so excited for her weekly trips to daycare, she barks up a storm when I drop her off. You can't go wrong with All Stevens K9. read more

I highly recommend the Lake Stevens K9 Academy group glasses. Betty and I have attended everything from basic obedience to the canine good citizen class. The classes are structured in a way that is easy to follow and the trainers provide a safe/fun environment to work with your dog's comfortability around other dogs, people, and distractions. Kim and the other trainers are very knowledgeable and patient with novice dog owners like myself. They have provided me with recommendations for leashes, collars, puzzle toys etc. read more

Attended a dog obedience class which ended up being walking in a circles. There was no instruction provided. Instructor laughed when dogs misbehaved and didn't help owners with training. Only benefit was to get my dog used to being around other dogs. For real training go elsewhere. read more

I highly recommend! Super responsive, easy to work with and my dogs behavior has changed for the better.

Lake  Stevens K9 Academy - Howard and Walter love Teacher Kim! - Pet Sitting Near Me - Lake Stevens, Washington

Kim is absolutely amazing! I have used k9 academy for about 3 years and have never been so content with the service. I do dog park visits and boarding. I have a very clingy springer who freaks when I leave ..... well when I bring him to drop off for boarding he runs to the door and doesn't seem to car where I am... Kim is also extremely flexible I have mischeduled days or had to change last minute and she was so helpful and flexible If I could give more then 5 stars I would. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

Kim is a wonderful, positive trainer. We adopted Gracie as adult. She is an active girl but was terrible on a leash, especially when we would see other dogs. After a couple of private lessons, I gained enough confidence to take her to group lessons. I wasn't sure how Gracie would do, and she LOVED it. We took Basic, then Advanced, and finally worked up to earning her Canine Good Citizen. I am so thrilled. She went from going nuts on a leash to being a polite girl. We even have had people tell us what a well behaved and trained girl she is. It's all due to Kim and her positive reinforcement, patience while she (ok, we) work and learn to be better. I think I learn as much as Gracie does. Thank you Kim!! read more

Kim is a phenomenal person, truly loves dogs and has a passion for helping owners. I enrolled in private in home training a year ago for my very high energy, 2 year old German Shepherd. He is an 85 lb unaltered male with health issues and I needed major help reigning in his personality so we could simply walk through the neighborhood. Kim always had helpful advice and encouragement. She gave me activities and training suggestions which helped our life immensly and allowed me to get my boy out and about with us. I have referred friends to Kim and know many who talk very highly of her group classes. Her knowledge, passion and drive earned her 5 stars from me!! read more

Lake  Stevens K9 Academy - So well behaved out in public! - Pet Sitting Near Me - Lake Stevens, Washington

I am very picky when it comes to our family leaving our furry family members somewhere. We have 3 dogs, 2 of them are small 10-20 lbs and one of them, our youngest is 160 lbs of fur and slobber. Kim and Brian of Lake Stevens K-9 Academy, really go the extra mile with our pets! Since finding this beautiful country home and watching it grow, we've been a fan and wont go anywhere else! Kim takes the time to give the meds, feed the food, and treat your pets exactly as you request. She even suggests different solutions for remedies if your pet has any health or behavioral concerns! She is also one of Lake Steven's finest dog trainers. We will only use Lake Stevens K-9 Academy for our training and boarding from now on! read more

I have a 6 month old Golden Retriever & have so far taken Kim's initial training class & am so happy with the results. My very active pup has really learned how to follow instructions, walk properly on a leash & is so good when distracted by other dogs now. I would really suggest her classes for any age dog. My pup and I have both learned so much about teaching proper dog manners too. I also bring him to her doggie day care so he can socialize with other dogs. This is a great idea as there are no other dogs in my home. He has really learned how to play well with multiple types of dogs, large, small ,young ,old & different temperaments. He gets a sweet littie report card to let me know how is day went. He also comes home clean, never muddy. He gets so excited when we get to her place. He can't wait to get out of the car & start playing. Kim is always willing to answer any questions I have. She has a great team that knows the dogs very well. I would highly recommend Lake Stevens K9 Academy. read more

Kim is the BEST!! I received her as a referral from my vet and I have never looked back. Kim is the owner and a true dog lover it shows in the way she treats any dogs lucky enough to be able to stay at her facility! We've been her clients since adopting our black lab Jake and are able to leave him with complete confident that she and her staff will love and take care of him as one of their own fur babies. We know this is true because every time we take Jake there he whines with excitement as he realizes he gets to stay at Kims. Her accommodations for the dogs are the best, a beautifully clean, heated, air conditioned, lots of windows and organized doggie hotel with a slider that opens to a play yard filled with toys for the dogs to play on and lots of space to run, jump and have fun with the other dogs. She has caring and loving staff to help meet all dogs dietary, medication etc needs. The academy uses a user friendly online scheduling system to book daycare or boarding needs. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kim's academy and if you are fortunate enough to schedule a visit for your dog there they will be treated like her own.. read more

Kim is absolutely wonderful. She's a great trainer. Our pups love her. We have three Scotties and they are stubborn. She did a great job, our only problem was...Mom and Dad did not follow thru. LOL!. This lady has to be the rudest owner I have ever dealt with on a personal level. After 2 months of waiting on her end to send me my dog's shot records(which she had promised that night through text that she would mail since she had forgotten to include it with my dog's belongings after I had picked her up from Kim's place) I finally was in contact with her again, today, and she was so disrespectful. So I never got my dog's shot records in the mail. I inquired over 3 times with her since Nov. She kept saying she couldn't remember if she did...First off she accused me of calling her a liar which I never did. I was just calmly speaking to her about the matter over the phone. I listened to her side but every time I would start to speak she would talk over me continually raising her voice and cutting me off(so unprofessional). After I asked her still calmly to let me finish speaking she yelled no! And that she would not take this from me(so sensitive because I honestly was not "giving her anything") then as I spoke my next words she hung up on me mid sentence. I will never use her service again. read more

The instructor, Kim, appears favorable to smaller breeds of dogs. If you have a bigger dog such as a Shepherd, Rott, Pitt, or Mastiff, you will run into difficulties with this instructor. Kim doesn't educate others in regards to different breeds of dogs and personality types. Very uneducated instructor. Not licensed either. Don't waste your time and money when you can get valuable classes from a licensed instructor who educates properly and is open to all breeds of dogs. read more

Kim is a great trainer! I've done a private session as well as her basic and advanced obedience classes. I have a hyper 2 year old German Shepherd and Kim gave us lots of tips and homework to work on. We now have a well behaved, well mannered dog! With her training he was able to test and pass for the AKC Canine Good Citizen. Some other classes we enrolled in were hesitant to work with us solely based on the breed of my dog. With Kim there was no hesitation. She worked well with him and we never felt discriminated against. Thanks for all you do Kim! read more

I highly recommend Lake Stevens K9 Academy! A few years ago, my dog and I participated in the basic and advanced training courses and these were fantastic! Recently we were planning our first big vacation and I immediately thought of this place for dog boarding. Kim and Brian were fantastic with my dog Cortana!! While on vacation, Kim sent me updates on how Cortana was doing! For boarding they are amazing! We will be leaving Cortana there in the future! read more

Kim is very well known for being an expert in the field of animal behavior. I own a pet care service and I have referred many of my customers to Kim. The results have been amazing! I am also very involved in animal rescue and Kim is ALWAYS ready to donate her services to assist with animals who need extra attention in order to become adoptable. There is no limit to Kim's generosity and there is no end to her knowledge. No matter what the breed or what their history, Kim has been the reason for so many happy endings for dogs and their families. read more

Kim & I met 10 years ago when I registered my Am Staff Hercules in her obedience training class, she is incredibly knowledgeable, extremely patient with any breed large or small, Hercules' transformation was awesome! I've asked her on numerous occassions to Pet sit for me, because I'm confident my 4 legged children will receive loving care and compassionate attention! They are always very happy to see her. Plus she's always in constant communication with me, while I've been out of town, providing updates, & pictures, allowing me piece of mind during stressful business agendas. My new little 4 month old Am Staff Falkor is currently in Kim's obedience class and doing fantastic already for his young age! So thankful I can always count on Kim! read more
