Fantastic location, nice view, 2 miles from city Center very convenient cabins are old, but some renovations have been made. Check to make sure your unit has a kitchen. I definitely recommend and will be coming back in the near future.

This was a LAST minute booking. I came to see family (6 hour drive) only to find out that they came down with the flu. Ok, so let's start with, I didn't actually stay at Moutain Trail Lodge. I booked thru Booking.com and was supposed to stay here. Apparently Moutain Trail Lodge has a "vacation Rentals" portion of the business. Anywhoo.. . I arrived with my 8 year old grand son and honestly, was slightly concerned with some of the people that were leaving the office (shady AF). By now my card had been charged so what could I do? I enter the office and the lady tells me Kevin moved me to a house. No up charge same rate. Okaaayy I'm thinking...duplex??? I get to the house and the outside could use some tidying up im thinking geez...., but once i got inside I was SO PLEASED!! HUGE! Well huge for just my grandson and I. Relatively clean, some minor things but I always do am extra cleaning when I stay at hotels because I'm weird that way. Tthe house has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 8? (ask though because i dont known that they allow that many to stay here. Two of the couchs fold down into comfortable queen size beds. The home has two wall units, one in the living area and one in a bedroom. The second bedroom only has a ceiling fan and would have been WAY TO HOT to sleep in. There are extra blankets but they did not appear to have been washed, but I wasn't planning on using them anyway. There is one very large bathroom that has a small shower. No tub for Littles. Bottom line...if I ever need to rent a place, I will definitely call Kevin and try and get this place again. Suggestion to readers- Bring your own towels, wash clothes, blankets etc. There were some extra towels in the hall closet, but the towels weren't hotel quality clean looking. The house is equipped with dishes and pots and pans, but the pans are older. There is not a complete set of silverware so keep that in mind. It is an older home and not the Ritz, but super cute inside and like I said relatively clean! I'll post more pictures tomorrow, but as you can see it's very roomy! If Kevin is reading this, thank you so much for moving me!!!

If I could give negative stars I would but 1 star is the lowest so, here we go. - When we opened the door to our room we were immediately hit with a pungent oder, a mix between wet moldy laundry and a used jock strap. We opened all the windows and doors to try vent the room but the smell still lingered. - Upon pulling back the duvet covers, we discovered several stains on the each bed sheet and pillow case. - After discovering the stained and soiled sheets I asked the woman at the front desk if we could get some clean sheets. At first she didn't believe me. It wasn't till showed her pictures on my phone (the ones attached here) that she begrudgingly agreed to grab us some clean sheets while stating she wasn't going to put them on the beds herself. - It was too late for us to find another option and having already been charged, we had no recourse. That evening we slept in our clothes, covered from head to toe on the "clean" sheet we were provided. - The sink was also disgusting. While brushing my teeth, I looked down at the taps and discovered mold and caked saliva in-between the taps. It was enough to induce an involuntary gag reflex. This was a horrible way to start our adventure in Yosemite National park. If you're cool with other peoples Excrement on your sheets / pillow cases and can deal with foul odours, this is your spot. Otherwise, I would highly recommend avoiding this dump at all costs.

    A lovely amenity.

Oh boy. We stayed a Friday- Sunday in the room with a King Bed and Sleeper Sofa. Positives: Staff was super friendly and welcoming. It is located about a half an hour from Yosemite's South Entrance. Negatives: They do not clean between residents. I do not think they have someone dedicated to cleaning, the woman at the front desk quickly runs in and tries to tuck used bed sheets back into place and sweep crumbs and dirt with someone else's french fries under the broken bed. We went to the Dollar General down the road and purchased our own cleaning supplies to clean the place before we settled in. The place was a weird mix between "do it yourself" kind of updated and super duper old. Believe every single negative review you read because it is true. I would not want a young child to stay here, I would want them to be in a bubble and not touch anything. They might grab onto the light switches hanging out of the wall. I am going to attach some photos to highlight some of the negatives about this place. *Please look at the pictures* These were all taken when we arrived at our room.

Can't even have our window open to enjoy the view As a surveillance camera is focused on the bed in this room.

I wasn't going to post anything. The first day the staff was accommodating and nice. All that changes once they get your money. They let you know whatever is wrong is not their problem. The toilet, shower, and sink are clogged and flowing into the living area. Last night a baby was crying all night and the parents yelling at each other. Banging on our wall all night to either scare or quiet down their kid. And no joke! There is a camera facing our BED! I can't even have the window open. Look, it may be an hour from the park, but The room may be warm but there has to be better out there! Please keep searching

STAY AWAY FROM HERE! THEY HAVE BED BUGS!!!! If I could give this place no stars, I would. We got to the property a little after 9pm so we were tired from the 6-hour drive and were ready to crash when we walked into our room. Upon arrival, there was a very strong "air freshener" that was not pleasant, the room was dirty, the towels had stains on them, there was dust all over, especially on the mini fridge, the toilet still had poop stains from who knows when and the blinds in the bathroom were damaged to where people could see inside if you were in there. 1 of the main lights were out so it was really dark in the room too. After seeing all this, we should have just left and found somewhere else to go but most places were already booked up and we had a dog with us, so it was difficult to find a pet friendly location. We got settled and eventually laid our heads to rest when my mom was complaining about getting bit. On her arms, her face, and even her legs. Upon inspection, we didn't see anything, so we thought she was having a reaction to the detergent used to clean the sheets. BUT in the morning, I found SEVERAL BED BUGS crawling on my shirt, others that were crawling on the bed, and more just hiding in the crevices of the sheets! I noticed that I had several bites as well and was completely disgusted that there were BED BUGS! We took several photos and videos of these BED BUGS, took a shower, changed our clothes and put everything that was in that bed in trash bags so that we could contain whatever bugs, if any, from our clothes. After packing up, I went to the office to find there was NO ONE there! I called the 2 numbers that were on the door, and one was off and the other answered. I told him about the bed bugs and asked for someone to come and take a look at our room so that there's no question about any of this and he merely said that no one would be available until 3pm; that if they really had bed bugs, they would need an exterminator to confirm to see if a refund could be given. ARE YOU KIDDING??? NO one is coming until 3pm? So I asked about his housekeeping staff, or any other staff that might be able to assist and he said, "Housekeeping comes at 10:30 and they only clean the room." By this time, I WAS LIVID! Not only did this person not apologize for the inconvenience of having to deal with BED BUGS at his establishment, he was not empathetic at ALL nor did it seem like he planned to reconcile this situation. I asked for the phone number for the owner of the place only to receive the number of the 1st person I called whose phone was off. He claimed that he was the owner and that the person I was talking to was just the manager (We soon found out that he in fact was the owner and the other person was his son). Only when I started to chew him out about his lack of customer service did he say that he would refund us for our stay but not until the exterminators came to confirm. I told him that I would be posting on all social media outlets, leave reviews, and get an attorney, and that's when he changed his tone. He asked for the photos to his cell phone, which I SENT, and called me right back to say that he will refund us for our stay. At this point, this is not about the refund. THIS IS ABOUT PRINCIPLE, and the HEALTH AND SAFETY of other guests that may stay here. BED BUGS is a serious issue and as much as I didn't want to leave a review, YOU ALL NEED TO KNOW and STAY AWAY from this place!

DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is beyond disgusting, unsafe, and unprofessional. I booked a room with 2 queen beds for one night for 3 adults. The room we were given had one bed and a mattress for us to sleep on. The actual bed didn't have any blankets, only a sheet and some pillows. The mattress didn't even have that, it was just a stained fitted sheet that looked like it hadn't been washed. We searched the entire room for blankets or even a single pillow/top sheet for the mattress but there was nothing in the room. I went to the front desk and asked the manager if we could have some pillows and blankets since our room had none. She told us we didn't "need any" since it was "warm enough" at night. We told her we wanted bedding even if it was "warm enough" (55ºF that night) and she then said the owner didn't let them wash blankets in the summer and that all the pillows and sheets were "lost" at other properties. I kept insisting and finally she gave me 2 thin white sheets that both had brown stains all over them, telling me to use one as a pillow. I walked away in shock not believing that a hotel I payed $150 to stay one night at refused to give me bedding. To keep the rest short, Once we realized how bad the situation was, we tried to find a room anywhere else in town but there was nothing available within such short notice. It was already late and we had just driven 5 hours from home so we decided to leave very early the next morning to get out of there as soon as possible. Besides the strange and upsetting interaction with the front desk, we also found that the shower had no shower head, the toilet paper roll holder was ripped off the wall and a used roll was sitting on the counter instead, the bathroom sink was covered in dried toothpaste and green mold, the pot for a large decorative plant was filled with trash, the only "lock" on the door was a key code (that was known by the staff) and a broken latch bolt that didn't even stay on the door, and finally, a DEAD LIZARD in the cabinet next to the bed! It almost felt like a sick joke or a scam. I am horrified that this is how we were treated.

Door handle fell off as soon as I opened the door. They wouldn't fix it
    Kathryn K.

Absolutely disgusting. First I went to open the door and the DOORHANDLE FELL OFF THE DOOR. We told them about this immediately and they said that's just there for extra security. There's no blinds in the bathroom so anyone can walk by and watch you in there doing your business. When I told the woman at the front she just gave me a sheet to cover the window with. Everything is dirty, the counters, the bathroom is horrible the past people didn't even flush so I doubt the room was cleaned at all in who knows how long! Never coming here again, absolutely ruined our experience.

    Blood stains.

The place is nice, but the pillow, blankets are soooooo icky. My wife slept at the table and I slept at the sofa, I just covered it with whatever. Blanket and bed covers are full of stains. Brought my black light and saw these. First time and will never ever come back here anymore.

This is the worst experience I have ever had when booking a hotel. I would wager that any positive reviews this "lodge" has are fabricated by Gill and his troupe of con people that work for him and the lodge. This is a total scam. I've complained to booking, my bank, and have had spotty correspondence with the management/owner due to their lack of initiative, integrity and overall concept of what it is to run a business. I booked a 4 night stay on Booking.com. Don't get me started on them. The total came out to $724.15 for the 4 nights, the location is technically super close to the south entrance of Yosemite, and actually takes you right into Mariposa grove and the Tunnel View entrance. With that in mind, go down the street to the best western or one of the other chain hotel/motels. You're better off and you won't really even be spending any more money. Also, there was no evidence of any kind of amenities for handicapped people including ramps, or dedicated handicap spots either. So we arrived (my girlfriend and I) around 30 mins after our check in time. In the span of that 30 minutes, they gave our room up to some walk ins. No big deal though. We weren't sweating it. The lady behind the desk was behind a hanging plastic screen, not wearing a mask, and told us that our room was given up, and she said she'd have to call Kevin to see "what to do with us" She ended up not calling Kevin and just bumped us into the room next to our original booking. Its worth noting that when we arrived in the office, there was a distinct smell of mold and mildew and it seemed as if the office building was on some shaky foundation, as you could see the keys hung up swaying and feel the building shifting under your feet. Weird. So after she fumbled through our check in process, she ended up coming from behind the plastic screen, STILL NO MASK, and got within about a foot or two of my person to hand the key and chat me up some more. Needless to say, this made me uncomfortable and I awkwardly backed up as she continued to get close to my body and face, in an already cramped environment. So we finally escaped the little office and grabbed our stuff to unpack. We got to the room, had some issues opening the door due to it being stuck, and once open, we were struck with the STRONG smell of MOLD and MILDEW. The floor was dirty, the bathroom was moldy, with black mold growing on the ceiling, and soap scum caked around the shower faucet handle. There was mold along the base of the cheap wooden sink, and more bodily fluids than I care to ever see or think of again all over the back of the toilet and seat. The blinds in the bathroom were broken, and came cascading down like an accordion when I touched them. The AC smelled funky, there was hair and bodily fluid stains on the bed, crumbs, dust, sticky spots and old burned coffee stuck to the coffee maker's heating plate. The room was facing the busy street below and was super loud. After a few minutes, my girlfriend started to have a genuine asthma attack due to the shabby state of this room. Exposed light sockets, dingy and cigarette stained light switch coverings, and again MOLD, MILDEW DUST AND DIRT. At this point I started to panic a bit, as I just dropped $728.15 on this dump. I went to the office after my lady and I decided to part ways with the Mountain Trail Lodge to request a refund. I was denied and told to call Kevin or Gill in order to do so. This exchange with the front desk lady was even more odd, and she confirmed that A LOT of people complain about the dirt and mold in these rooms. And openly discussed these issues with me for a few minutes, before closing the gap of social distancing, again, with no mask on. At this point, i took a pic of the posted letter on the office door that had Kevin and Gill and proceeded to try and buy a soda on my way out. Soda machine..not working. I get back to the room, and call Kevin to be sent to voicemail immediately. After Kevin didn't answer, i called Gill. This guy is a total piece of work and a masterclass conman. I called him and politely explained the situation to him, and requested a refund. I informed him of the filth, MOLD and MILDEW, my girlfriends Asthma attack and still not willing to budge. Eventually he agreed to give me a partial refund of half, that i still haven't received and have since followed up with him on the issue, only to be dismissed and ignored. I've complained to booking.com, local health dept, and my bank, and the guy wont answer my calls. STAY AWAY AND HELP ME GET HIM SHUT DOWN. THIS APPARENTLY IS COMMON WITH THIS PLACE.

On a hot drive out of Yosemite, we wanted a place with a sunny swimming pool, and out of town. This place was great, one story, friendly owners, and the only room available was the suite, which was huge. The suite has a full kitchen, fireplace, a/c and a giant shower and four poster bed. This small place books out every night so book ahead, it it one of the less expensive places in town. All other smaller rooms have two queens. Any hotel around Oakhurst will have road noise, but it dies off after dark. The pool felt great, and there was sun on it until almost 7 pm in May, so very nice for sunbathing while enjoying the valley view.

Picture this... Arrived to the office/lobby and this guy with a "backwoods" shortsleeved shirt is by the entry in the back position of a couch that they have. He had it completely reclined as if he was sleeping there. And yes without a mask He signaled me to enter which I did, I was greeted by this lady "semi-nice" she gave me a key and told me where I could park. As I was walking to my room, I notice the appearance of a trailer park, full with crackheads sitting outside their room next to me. (This room costed me $130 +/- thru Expedia ) as I entered the room, the whole appearance was bad from the get go. Nothing is presentable. The entrance mat was filthy, and the door and underneath the beds and the bathroom. This is when I went to yelp to look at the reviews (big mistake to do it after I had already paid since there are no refunds ) And sure enough, many people noticed the same poor quality that this place offers. I went to the office, asked for a refund, the semi-nice lady wasn't nice anymore and without even looking at me she said "NO REFUNDS" with a deep voice. I told her not to worry as I would just dispute the charge with my credit card company. It is very concerning that there are no sanitizing procedures not even because we are in the middle of a pandemic. The bed sheets are stained thru-out (I saw other reviews that proved this). I really hope that this place gets new management as for now, I would never ever recommend it, it is just unsafe. Period !

Even though it is extremely hot in Oakhurst, the venue, being in a wooded forest, is a very comfortable temperature, not too hot and you don't need a jacket at all, even at night. It is a bit of a pain to get to though - you have to drive up a winding mountain for about 20 minutes coming from Oakhurst so if you are planning on drinking at the event, make sure you either have a DD because coming back down that same road at night with no street lights and while under the influence can be dangerous. The venue itself was a bit confusing for us to navigate. We had to ask people passing by for directions on where to go but we eventually got to where we needed. It is also quite dusty so be prepared to have your shoes and the bottom of your outfits covered with dirt. And being up in the middle of a mountain, be prepared for no/poor reception.

Besides, Eddie the owner and host, its the most humble and most glowing soul you will ever meet, this guy puts his life and soul in this place and the whole energy of the cabin irradiates positivity and peace. He cares about making the experience for every single guest unique and special. You will NOT regret staying here....actually...like it happened to me... you will keep coming back and whenever you think of Yosemite you will think of Evergreen.

The staff was very friendly and willing to talk about restaurants and the best way to get to Yosemite and other questions that we had. The whole property was well kept and felt very safe easy driving directions to get to our hotel room. We were blessed with a hotel first floor had a great patio out, looking into a wooded area. Parking was very easy we park just a few spots away from our hotel room. They EV charging stations for vehicles and other things plenty of handicap parking all throughout the facility and also a restaurant right in the middle of this place so you don't have to go very far to get good food Speaking of good food, their breakfast buffet by far put it over the top because a lot of times you go to hotels and you get maybe a continental breakfast just a few items and you're not really interested in those items but this breakfast buffet was overwhelming because it was so amazing and on this trip we finally got to eat a good meal at a hotel They had pancake sausage, eggs, different kinds of bacon, like four or five different juices, six or seven different coffees, bagels plenty of people behind the counter to serve you fresh fruit, all kind of stuff and it was well laid out. A very relaxing environment that you can walk in get your breakfast sit down and really enjoy your time there and go back for seconds and know it was gonna be hot and fresh every time so I truly recommend this place because of how relaxing it was how easy it was to get in and out of and the food quality for breakfast was amazing. The only thing that was a little bit still out of date, but still look good was the rooms they are older style rooms not updated like a lot of other places are, but it was an amazing stay great facilities and we will stay here every time we go to Yosemite

I chose this…read morehotel over the others in Oakhurst because it allowed dogs and looked like it belonged in the woods! My boyfriend, dog and I were going to visit Yosemite and stayed here. It was about an hour into the park each day but totally worth it. The room was clean, comfortable and convenient as my room was by one of the electric car chargers (by the gym). Totally free to use btw! The room did have a dog like smell but what do you expect at a dog friendly hotel by so many hiking spots. The staff when I checked in and out were super friendly too!

We have stayed a few times at Cedar Mountain Lodge when visiting family and friends in Oakhurst…read more It's a great location! The cute town of Oakhurst, with its shops and places to eat, is a conveniently central location; near enough to have day trips to lots of interesting places to visit, such as Yosemite, Coarsegold, The Sugar Pine Railroad, Bass Lake, and Mariposa. The apartment is fully contained on the upper floor of a home, with a private entrance. The wonderful hosts live on the bottom floor. They are lovely people, always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The home has everything we need. The kitchen is well appointed to cook meals. We just grab food at the Raleys in town on the way. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern and clean. My favorite room is the great room with all its windows, fireplace, and comfortable seating. Also with a large deck overlooking the trees. The neighborhood is quiet. The house has enough parking space for larger vehicles, like our F450 long bed, and for several cars. We have loved staying at the Lodge so much, that we now will literally try to plan our trips around when they have availability. Highly recommend!

First timer and will be a life-long visitor from now on!…read more SERVICE: Amazing! Super welcoming staff and accommodating. We ended up extending our stay and took care of it right away. I was about to cancel our reservation due to the recent snow/winter storm and even with chains we were worried about becoming stranded but they were kind enough to offer a reschedule due to the promo being non cancellable. Glad we stuck through the new reservation! Communication was very easy; either through messages or phone call and our needs were met quickly. Being a first timer in the resort and the area, they were very helpful with answering our questions about things to do or where to go. I can't say enough good things about their staff. Check in was a breeze with online and at registration, so was check out. AMENITIES: Granted we went during winter months and right after a snowstorm so we really weren't able to use the amenities such as the pool or hot tub but we were able to walk around and it was open. The Pines market is very convenient with all our needs as well as the other shops and stores for snacks or different foods. Parking was easy at the registration although they might need to repaint some of the numbers or lines in front of the chalets but other than that, no issues with parking at all. ROOM/ACCOMMODATION: We reserved a 2 queens chalet with lakeside view. Unfortunately, our view was blocked by the electric pole/trees towards the lake but can still see some of the lake. It was still a beautiful view and the location of our chalet was close to the amenities. The chalet was clean and had no harsh cleaning solution smells. I loved that it came with a kitchenette and the balcony to do some outdoor grilling. The place was comfortable and homey. I wish there was just another toilet upstairs lol because there was 4 of us and we somehow managed to want to use the restroom at the same time multiple times LOL. But otherwise, everything was in working condition. As a suggestion, if they can change the bedroom tv to a smart tv because the cable channels kept glitching and channel options were slim also if possible just have it on the wall, creates more walking space because it was pretty tight walking to the beds lol. There's this little cubby space on the other side of the bathroom wall where a dresser (a tall one) could be put instead. Otherwise, I still very much loved our stay. We absolutely did not want to leave. I cannot wait to book this resort again. Highly recommend! Wonderful staff, amenities and accommodation! Close to yosemite and oakhurst. Very convenient.

I only stayed one night at The Pines Resort in Bass Lake, but it was enough to absolutely love it…read more Our cabin was small but super cozy, just a short walk to the lake, and we had a great lake view from our balcony. The cabins freely a bit outdated, but the property is really clean and well kept, and the restaurants and bars were amazing. We had such a fun time. Huge shoutout to Kim from the security team, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and took great care of us, even shuttling us back and forth to the Pines Bar a few times. Honestly, every staff member we encountered was awesome. Short stay, great experience, and we'll definitely be back.
