I recommend staying here as the house was comfortable, clean & relaxing. We saw deer every day. I loved that we could just relax & enjoy being in this gorgeous place away from the busy city life. We found out about Bass Lake and never would have known what a great local place it is. We stayed in the Cedar room and it exceeded our expectations. The room was a good size, huge bathroom and little mini fridge. Double doors opened to the outside and we had the main door that opened to the hallway. Our room was at the very beginning so no noise at all. The AC was cool and the fan was quiet. We enjoyed the bed and breakfast concept and mingled with the other patrons while we were there. Everyone was very friendly and we all talked about Yosemite and our experiences. I recommend stating here for the great price and atmosphere, along with all the amenities. Thanks Eddie!!!

I dont even know where to start... I always choose the SEQUOIA ROOM... which will blow your mind: superb decoration, every detail is beautiful, the bathroom is huge with a double shower and comes equipped with anything you could ask for... the bed is amazing and besides you have a sofa bed and and extra bed for more people. You like to watch cable in bed? yeah... every room comes with Satellite TV and flat screens. Like if this wasn't enough.. you have free wifi of course, a F1 grill if you like bbq'ing and a HUGE deck if you want to just sit down and stare at the beauty of the pine populated mountains. Super quiet place, clear skies... just 15 mins away from the entrance of Yosemite park. I think its a must to give this place a chance. Besides, Eddie the owner and host, its the most humble and most glowing soul you will ever meet, this guy puts his life and soul in this place and the whole energy of the cabin irradiates positivity and peace. He cares about making the experience for every single guest unique and special. The property itself is very clean with nice decor (little robins scattered around the house). I loved the blue walls with contrasting brown linens. I will say that the rental is a lot larger than what I had pictured based on what I saw online. Major plus! When you arrive (plenty of parking), you go right around the house, following the signs for Robin's Nest. Shortly after we arrived we were greeted by one of the owners, Trace. He had A LOT of knowledge to offer us given that he was a former park ranger for Yosemite. I'm telling you, he knows everything about the park- best times to go, what hikes to do, where to get the best views, etc. Tell him what your goals are for your trip and he'll help you create the perfect itinerary! We did a hike, Clouds Rest, which we hadn't quite planned for, but turned out to be the best hike we did. Anyhow, you enter the building and there's a closet with beach towels for you to use for either the pool or the Merced River (ask where to go). You'll encounter the bedroom and around the corner is the living room, equipped with TV and tons of space. You'll also see the bathroom (with towels, soap bar, shampoo/conditioner). The kitchenette includes microwave, toaster, sink, coffee pot and dishes for you to use. There's a table outside to eat if you want some fresh air, otherwise, there's 2 bar stools you can eat in the kitchen. There's also an outdoor grill that you are welcome to use if you choose to make something. The rental comes equipped with A/C and heater depending on temps. As for the bed... I thought it was comfortable. After hiking the entire trip we were sure glad to hit the sack. We were out... Cold. They also have Wi-Fi you can use which was super helpful since we had NO reception with T-Mobile in the area. There are local eateries only minutes away, but be mindful many close early and if you make it a long day at the park, you'll have to hit the grocery store instead. If you're planning a trip to Yosemite, this is the place to go. Probably more suited for couples than a trip with kids. Most days it took us about 2 hours to get into the park because of the 2 lane, slow, windy roads. It was worth the drive though, because after a few hours in Yosemite, you will be glad to get away from the crowds. Robn and Trace are the perfect hosts for your stay!! If you are for a peaceful stay away from the crowds, this is where you need to be. The place is full of history and when you drive up to check in, it feels like you've been transported back in time. That's especially true because there are no modern creature comforts, not cell service, no room telephone, no TV, no AC, no in room refrigerator and no room internet (although there is WiFi in the lobby/main building). The basics are very good, spacious room, big comfortable bed, traditional bathroom with good shower pressure and lots of storage. There is a full service restaurant on site serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We did not try the restaurant during our short stay. As for things close by, there is a gas station and gift shop just next door. You can arrange for horseback riding. There is a pool but it was being serviced during our stay. And you can hike straight out your front door! There are so many hiking trails around the hotel. A very good alternative in the Yosemite National Park. BTW, with a hotel reservation, you can come and go as you please without having to make a park reservation.

Rooms were dated but still perfectly nice - no AC, so if you come in the summer beware that it will only be a fan that saves you. Plan on about a 45min drive to the Yosemite Valley Village area. About 10min to Mariposa Grove area.

I enjoyed the balcony, comfy bed, and clean bathroom. I found it beautiful that there are plenty of stellar jays flying over the B&B inn. There was sights of deers, butterflies, and many other creatures to see. The balcony also had comfy rocking chairs which gives a homey feeling. For breakfast there was only a bagel or pastry nothing else. If you're driving there are many restaurants and food places in the towns an hour before B&B inn, but after passing Oakhurst town there will be far drives to be able to go to marts or other food places.

Pamela had also greeted us and told us about the continental breakfast and that you are to eat it in your own room. She would later enter your room when you are not there to pick up the dishes. She was also helpful with any questions in regards to what to visit in Yosemite. We loved our private balcony and the view of the stream flowing by. Pamela surprised us by hauling up some rocking sitting chairs on the last night of our stay onto the balcony. We enjoyed that very much and the peacefulness. We also enjoyed the fridge in the room but also wished there was a freezer as well as we had brought our own ice packs. Cons: As much as we did not mind Pamela coming into our room to get the breakfast dishes while we were gone, we did notice a few things that felt odd. First, she took our used shower towels that was hanging on the inside of the horseshoe rack and rehung it on top of the horseshoe rack holder. She even took out the squishy non-slip padding in the shower and rehung it. She made our beds(though we could of sworn that one of the rules was that there was NOT going to be any room cleaning, etc. She took some of our other towels that we had used and replaced it with others(which was fine). BUT, she THREW AWAY my small styrofoam cup that I had left nicely on the sink counter. I had brought it from home and had used it to rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth. Who does that?? Who throws away someone else's things? I was very upset and it kind of made our stay there less enjoyable knowing that someone had gone through your stuff. Overall, it is a nice place to stay with a nice room and view but think about items that belong to you and what things you wouldn't want anyone to touch or throw away. We also suggest you bring your own food as there isn't really a place to eat at except for a place slightly down the street that sells sandwiches(it was good) or at the expensive restaurant at the hotel down the street. If you don't bring your own food, you would need to drive ALL the way back down the windy road into town.

The cottages are clean, peaceful, and relaxing. They offer a full kitchen with all cooking supply needs, minus the spices. The grounds are spectacular and serene with beautiful plants and birds all around. You can sit out on your front porch and gaze at the beautiful stars at night. The bed is firm, which isn't my favorite but I have slept well after having our bottle of wine! They are very attentive and stayed up to wait for our late arrival. I would recommend this place!!!

We stayed in the "Stage Coach" which has a king bed, fireplace & nicely appointed kitchen and decorative tiling throughout. Outside one side of our cabin is a rosemary plant which made the stay even nicer. The owners are friendly, and responsive to our needs.
