I was looking for a new boot/ski set up. Bill McCall was awesome, he took the time (patience) to try/fit me with several different boot brands and models, ultimately landing on the best boot for me! He also assisted in choosing the right skis a helmet, goggles and gloves. His expertise and experience speaks volumes! Thank you read more

I was recommended here from an employee at Keystone Christy's to buy an emergency pair of snowboard boots - wide - which are apparently difficult to find. They helped me find an option which saved the trip. I was with my local friend and they gave us the local discount. read more

Great gear and great prices. TJ was great. Lots of good sale stuff and new season merch.

Mountain sports outlet sells gear and clothing, and also rents skis and snowboards. Everything is marked down and there are big name brands including Burton, Spyder, Patagonia, Marmot and Helly Hansen to name a few. If you need last-minute winter gear the store will probably carry something suitable and at a discount price to boot. If you are female, you are especially lucky because they have 2-3x as much women's winter clothing as men's for some reason. The low star rating is for the service. Went here to pick up ski and snowboard rentals since they are owned by epic. Unfortunately, they are inefficient and it took over an hour to get our equipment. Online reservations do not speed up the process. The checkout line was also long. read more

Nolan O. was very helpful! Very knowledgeable and friendly! And made sure I knew all about my options!

We had a great experience with Androo at MSO. He was attentive and helped our little one find the right snowboard boots and correct size board. MSO has a junior trade program where you pay 250$ for a new set or $150 for a used set of boots/board or boots/skis for your kid for the season. Next season you get 50% of that price to the next set. The store was busy but Androo's older partner stepped in and helped get my other kid fitted for his skis and boots (both used). You can always mix and match new and old but inventory is low on snowboarding gear so we bought new boots. FYI- we went to epic mountain rentals in Frisco forst because we have epic passes and that was a hot mess. The staff there is checked out and in an empty store the four older members at the counter left us with a clueless teenager to fit young kids for gear. Highly recommend Androo and MSO. read more

The store was great, Robert in particular was helpful. His knowledge of the inventory allowed us to get in and out of the store in no time when my kid broke a ski and needed a quick replacement. read more

Best ski snowboard shop, super amazing customer service, scott did a awesome job tuning up my board! Hightly recommende!

Went in to purchase a pair of skis at 5pm. We only had one day of skiing left and I REALLY wanted to have them for my last day. Because it was Christmas week they were swamped, BUT Gavin worked some kind of magic and got me my skis for December 31st...He was my favorite person in the history of people! Go see them, you will not be disappointed! They also honor Vail demo credits, so after you demo, you get up to two days credit on new skis. read more

Family local friendly is 100% correct. Had my skis walk away with out me . Needed skis now. Pete showed me everything he could do on my limited budget. Found some rental returns down stairs that would save my vacation. They were able to safety check and wax the skis before 1pm. Thank you all for saving my ski vacation read more

As always, great, friendly service. They absolutely take the time to make sure your boots, your most important piece of equipment, fit as well as possible. We travel all the way from Illinois to be here every winter and have been renting and buying gear at Mountain Sports Outlet for over 15 years. And they have a military discount which we appreciate. Huge shoutout to Peter for trying to get old boots working for me and then helping me get a great new pair! read more

Since we ski every year without fail, the hubby and son decided instead of renting skis, they'd buy. We poked around a few stores in Denver, but the prices were crazy. We figured we'd encounter higher prices closer to ski country but decided to go ahead and check around when we got to our accommodations in Keystone. First stop was Mountain Sports Outlet. The had a great sale on Demo skis for purchase at the front door, but in the back, marked down last year model skis. Not knowing what to buy, Peter, the salesman, was extremely helpful. Worried about buying skis and not liking them, Peter recommended he rent downstairs the very skis he was thinking of purchasing. They would credit the rental cost towards the purchase of the skis. FANTASTIC! I have to say, my son rented the recommend skis, and ended up purchasing the newer version of them. Being that it was around president's day, there was a sale and Peter was able to make a deal on the skis, poles & bindings. My husband returned a couple days later and decided to buy the demos by the front door, at a deep discount, as well as a new pair of ski boots - all marked down! We spent alot, but also saved alot. All along the way, Peter was most helpful! Highly recommend! read more

Customer Service was awesome. Bill McCall worked with my 12 year old daughter who grew out of all her gear. Bill team worked with his coworker Linda to make sure my daughter was feeling confident and learned the importance of layering her ski gear. It was nice to step back to allow my daughter work with well seasoned professional ski gurus who know ski gear. Thank you Bill and Linda for creating a positive experience for both my daughter and myself while making sure items where on sale and gear fits well. read more

We had such a great experience buying my first set of skis here. Bill was so helpful and knowledgeable about making sure I had the right fit for my size and skill level. He was so accommodating and really attentive to our needs. This was the 3rd place we tried and they finally had my size! I wish we would've come here first! They even gave us a great deal so I was able to afford poles and snow pants as well! I am ready to hit the slopes tomorrow thanks to Bill! read more

Mountain Sports Outlet - Sports Wear Near Me - Silverthorne, Colorado

Our family has shopped at Mountain Sports Outlet since the 90s, the 1990s! Over the years we have purchased undergarments to skis and everything in between. We recently learned that it's an outlet for all the Vail resorts sportswear/equipment and for our family being flatlanders, it's OK for us to wearing something that might be a season or only a few weeks behind the latest trends. Plus they even have current top of the line choices for all your mountain sports needs. On a recent visit we ran into some exceptional customer service from Bill McCall. What a fantastic experience and he truly impacted our entire trip with his insight and advice!!! Bill helped my son refit his old boots, helped us with a set of inserts that made them feel Brand New. Then he went on to recommend a ski upgrade and they were a perfect solution. We've been coming to the Keystone area as a family for over 40 years and Mountain Sports Outlet has been part of that tradition for more than half of that time. I never recall coming this way without stopping at at least one. Mountain Sports Outlet never disappoints! read more

The service here is truly 10/10. Tim helped us get our gear set and was so awesome. Explained everything and helped set me up with some goggles too which is really encouraging for a beginner. Was supposed to ski today but sadly wind was too much and everything closed before we could go on the mountain. Bill was super nice and helped us get checked out and refunded. Best place to go to get your equipment! read more

I went to so many stores looking for a ski set and none of them had anything until I came here. Bill was extremely helpful, gracious, and helped me with everything I needed. He even gave me discounts, which helped me stay in my budget. Additionally, he gave me tips on skiing and the best places to go. He went above and beyond in all aspects. Overall, one of the best retail experiences I have ever had and I left extremely happy with a ski set. read more

Came in here with no clue about anything. All I knew was that I didn't want to ever wear rental boots ever again... Travis helped me find my perfect pair of skiing boots. 6 stars for Bill McCall!!!!!! I've done season rentals for my daughter up until this year and decided this was the year to get her real gear. Bill was absolutely fantastic in helping guide us to the right set up for her helping her get stoked for the season! Thanks Bill! read more

Stan was definitely the man today! He hooked us up with quality gear, good jokes and good recs for keystone night life! Thanks Stan!

Walked in and browsed for 10 mins. Most employees were up front talking about personal stuff with each other. That's some really good customer service. My buddy is renting skis and I've been waiting in the parking lot for him for over 30 mins. Store also has no customers. I'm not even gonna talk about the overpriced merch either. Way too many better options around town. Vail resorts is number 1! read more

Bruce is the man!! I went to MSO thinking I needed a new pair of boots. Bruce asked all the right questions and made me feel comfortable being open about my super wide feet. After sitting with Bruce for a bit and trying on a few different pairs that didn't feel much better than the ones I'd been skiing on, Bruce asked to take a look at my boots. He quickly noticed that at extender would do the trick and asked me to come back the next day after they worked on my boots. The next day I came back and an extender had been put in, widening the area where I felt pain. He also provided me with an insole that helps tremendously. I cannot tell you how much better my feet feel after those fixes. I truly appreciated Bruce's honest advice and extended knowledge. He could have pushed me on a pair of $300-$400 boots, which would not have solved the problem. I have had negative experiences in the past with a couple big name brand ski shops in the front range, so I was hesitant to go in the first place. I would also like to give a shout out to Laura who gave me great advice when I was picking out a ski jacket. She was friendly and charismatic. I'm always impressed with the level of service I experience when I go to MSO and will continue to shop here and utilize this services. read more

Mountain Sports outlet was suggested to us by my roommate because of their discounted retail. So glad we actually took the time to come in and check it out. We decided to rent our gear from here since the staff was so friendly our first visit. Dan, was extremely helpful and had great customer service. He remembered us from the visit the day before and he has to see a hundred faces a day, so that was pretty impressive. He made sure that all of our needs were met and definitely went above and beyond to make sure we would be coming back every time we were in town. I will be doing that, as well as telling all of my friends and family to visit as well. Thank you Dan for making it easy for us Texans and New Mexicans. See you next time! read more

Came here to grab some gear for skiing and Bill helped us. He was excellent and very knowledgable about the gear. He fit me perfectly and explained why he was giving me what he grabbed for me to accommodate my level of skiing. I am a pretty timid skier and he was kind enough to walk me through the best spots to go on the mountain in Vail so I could practice and it wouldn't be to crowded. He went beyond the typical service expectations in a rental place and I was very grateful! Thank you Bill:) read more

This was our second year to visit Mountain Sports Outlet for the Junior Seasonal Ski package. We have 6 and 3 year old girls, and prefer to keep their skis and boots consistent for them over rentals. The associates are always friendly and helpful, making sure our needs are met as we enter the season and have room for our children's abilities to grow. We now consider this our annual first stop when we head to the mountains each year to get the kids set with gear. Also a great place to get helmets, goggles, gloves, gators, etc. Truly a one stop shop, and at a great price! read more

We went to MSO to upgrade some of our gear. We were lucky enough to get help from Bill. This guy is a wealth of knowledge and an industry expert. He knew way more than most sales associates could ever know regarding product design and effectiveness. He helped fit us out head to toe. He even helped us with goggles for our daughter. Bill also took the time to explain and help with proper boot fit. His passion and energy for the sport is infectious. After we told him we were going to be skiing at Vail, he offered some tips on the best runs and village shops to hit. If you end up at MSO, be sure to ask for Bill. He'll surely take care of you like you were family. read more

BEST place for ski equipment. Ask for Bill McCall if you need help with boots or skis. He is -- hands down -- the best! We were there over the busy holiday season, and my 17-year-old son's year-old ski boots were hurting his feet, so off we went to Mountain Sports Outlet, thinking that yet again we needed to purchase new boots (teenage boys and their growing feet!). Instead of simply heading off to show us new boots, Bill first asked my son what about his boots was bothering him. Bill listened carefully to my son's explanation and then asked if he could "work on them" a bit. After a number of adjustments and quite a bit of time spent working with us, Bill made the old boots fit like a glove. Thank you, Bill, for taking the time to help us and for saving us hundreds of dollars! read more

I wanted to demo some skis for the week. My daughter sent me to MSO where Bill had some good ideas for models based on my skiing ability. He was very knowledgeable about the skis which is nice because I am not interested in the specs, I want something to ski on. There was a good selection of makes and models. They were all very helpful and friendly. I would definitely return when I'm in the area. read more

If you are looking for a mass selection of certain clothing items or boards you might find what you like here. What I never understood about this place is that it's got outlet in the name but don't be fooled, these aren't outlet prices. I've gotten a few accessories here and some NikWax, but other than that I can't really recommend this place. My last trip in I was looking for some lenses for my Oakley goggles and they didn't have hardly anything. Course, it was the end of the season so maybe that was my problem. Who knows? This place has average prices on gear, but you're probably better off at the resort shops when it comes to selection. read more

First off, there is nothing "Outlet" about this place. They used to have bins with discount hats, socks, etc., but those days are gone, so take Outlet out of your name you scammers. More importantly, I never understand why people with snarly, peed-off personalities work in customer service. The older woman with a face that looked like she was sucking lemons is nasty, nasty, nasty. Please get a job cleaning toilets or starring in off-off broadway re-enactments of Mommy Dearest, so the general public doesn't have to come in contact with you. I live in Dillon, spend a lot on gear and have tons of guests up who need gear all the time, but will not come into this place again with how rotten they treat their customers. Go to Chrysty Sports, not far from this place, right across from Dillon Dam Brewery. Very helpful and extremely knowledgeable employees and the nicest employees in all of Summit. read more

My binding strap broke therefore I was unable to secure my snowboard boot to my binding. Bill McCall spent 45 minutes figuring out how to jerry-rig a solution. He attached 2 straps together which work perfect and I was back on the slopes. Bill also refused payment for his labor and service. You don't find people or places like this anymore. Thanks Bill! read more

I just wanted to let you know that we received wonderful service from your MSO in Silverthorne/Dillion yesterday 1/31/16. We stopped by on our way back from vail looking for new ski set ups for both my self and fiancée. Jackson was your customer service rep who helped us. Jackson was very knowledgeable on the different specs of skis and boots. We were looking for specific needs and qualities that we were looking for and he was patient and just wonderful to work with. My fiancée has bad feet and has a lot of metal in his ankles and feet due to a previous accident, so finding the right boot and ski was very pertinent to us and Jackson's knowledge was fabulous in helping us find what we needed. I know he was just doing his job, it goes along way to receive great customer service, quality and price. You all did that for us! Thank you! Shyrell read more
