Wow! I called the day ahead and made an appointment to fit a pair of replacement ski boots. Very much a barbershop vibe - the awesome tech spent 90 minutes and fit the boots perfectly. He even showed me a few tricks - putting the power strap inside the cuff of the boot to help my small calf fit the boot better, putting a bandaid type situation to help the hottronics glide smoothly along the back of the liner, and an adjustment on the back of the boot to put my foot into a more aggressive stance. Even though they were 3 old dudes they made me a little lady feel very comfortable and confident in my new set up. All the work was $100 plus tip, which seemed super reasonable. read more

Amazing ski tuning shop! Don't even bother looking anywhere else. My full service tune with fresh wax was so hot I didn't even have to use the lift - just made a U-turn at the bottom and had enough speed to make it all the way back to the peak. I don't know how they do it! Customer service was excellent. They went above and beyond to get the job done ahead of schedule, even though they were very busy. Precision's boot-fitter Jimbo is very knowledgeable, demonstrating care about your boot fitting needs. Took my kids for racing boots fitting and was fantastic, they loved how well they fit now. I needed new ski boots after skiing in a pair that was two sizes too big and insanely painful and I happened upon Precision Ski. They had a great selection and Jimbo fitted me with a terrific pair of Rossignols and didn't stop until I was totally happy. The boots were perfect, I skied all day off the Three Bears Chair at Copper and didn't have ANY pain. Needed a quick tune and Precision was able to do a complete tune for me in under 45 minutes. Bruce was my first contact with the shop and his service was above and beyond the norm. The owners and employees feel like family and they take pride in helping everyone get dialed in. Had to knock a star off after skiing on my freshly tuned boards. For whatever reason, the guys decided to detune my edges, thinking I was probably not going to be skiing any hard packed snow. Having always been a tuner, I didn't think much about the fresh tune til I was on the snow. No edges! The snow i was on required a serious edge and I had nothing. Felt like I was a beginner...so unnerving. Skiing was great but snow was firm. Without that mid season edge under foot to lay an arc on hard pack, I was relegated to less than optimal turns and thus my day ended on a sore note. The shop and guys there were still awesome and I intend on revisiting the shop to talk boots, boards and skiing with them. dangit...that's all im saying!! read more

The slopes had been a bit rocky and so I took my skis to precision for a full tune as my edges had taken some wear. I had a 15% coupon and it seemed like a good deal for under $40, they were very pleasant and said the skis would be ready in 3 hours. They were ready on time but a full tune does not include a hot wax and while one ski was in good shape it looks like they forgot to take care of the edges on the other one and had just run it through the base sander. These guys are great! I have new ski boots and liners, and was having issues with heel slip. Seth adjusted my boots so that my heels stayed down. He was very patient and knowledgeable. I came back several times for slight tweaks to the adjustment and Seth was happy to make sure I was very satisfied. I also had my skis tuned at Precision and they did a great job. read more

Every Season, this was the place I went to get my skis tuned in January while I skied in Summit County. I liked the vibe. This season before I left for Aspen I brought one pair of my skis for a tune. Edge and Wax. I specifically asked before I left them if there was enough edge. I didn't try that pair until last week in Tahoe and the skis were so poorly tuned, the edgers were not sharpen. Sure it was very hard surface but I felt like a beginner (I have over 500 days in). I packed it in, that day highly unusual on a sunny day. Their poor job ruined the day. I asked my Tahoe friend who in the past ran a shop to please look at these skis. His conclusion, although a bit harsh "they are incompetent". Overall I did like the shop and always tipped the workers. I'm very disappointed and will not return. BTW, I strongly considered buying boots and skis there. read more

We have a condo in Frisco. I have used and recommended Precision for nearly 20 years , always great service and good prices. This year all that changed. I don't know if they have new ownership or what there problem is but they are not the store I frequented in the past. One of several negative experiences I had this year...... I was told a price for ski rental for a week. When returned the price had doubled!!!! I was floored!!! When questioned response was "this is what it is". that price is more then TWICE the market in Frisco. Also Had a disappointing experience with boots. I can not recommend Precision any longer. Pioneer is the only other Ski shop I have used in the past. Although I have not used them this year I will next time I need Ski equipment in Frisco. read more

My experience with Precision Ski and Golf was literally the worst customer service experience of my life. To the point where I feel motivated write this review, even though I've never written an online review for anything - ever. I created a Yelp account for the express purpose of warning potential victims from suffering the staff of this business. The tune and wax were fine. The boards rode well. But upon taking a closer look as I removed bindings to put on a stomp pad, I discovered that a crude wax pencil had been used to scrawl markings to indicate their position. This was impossible to completely remove from the deck of one of the two boards, and could have been avoided if the tech had simply taken time to note where they had been, use tape, take photos, or any other of countless ways to document where the bindings had been, but instead they chose to sloppily apply what wound up being an ugly and permanent mark on the board. The other board had a stripped Phillips screw head - not good or safe, and always something that can be easily avoided. As much as anything, it's just lazy and a blatant lack of consideration for customers' property - they could have replaced the screw before handing it back to me and I'd have been none the wiser. When I raised these concerns in a phone call, I was met by a new employee who didn't have good info on how the boards were worked on, and passed on to a supervisor or manager named Tim who, after trying to tell me that there was apparently no other way to remember where to put bindings after removing them other than scrawling ugly marks with a red wax pencil (even though every binding and board is made with a mounting system that enables repeatability for anyone to put their bindings back on just right), almost immediately began to cut across me, reprimanding me for being "completely unreasonable" for being upset at the lack of care that was taken of my equipment, and raise his voice and swear at me while telling me things like "Chill out, Man.", "This kind of shit just happens, Dude.", and "...now you're just pissing me off." He ended the conversation by shouting something to the effect of, "Christy's will hook you up anytime, and have a nice day." This shop has some rave reviews, and loyalists will undoubtedly keep giving PS&G their money, but I can't in good conscious not make some kind of attempt to prevent unsuspecting skiers and snowboarders (who actually read reviews) from having their boards and skis defaced and jerked around - only to be later abused and insulted by the staff if they don't like it. The level of condescension and hostility from this guy, who after all works on recreational equipment for tourists, was nothing shy of astonishing. Stay away - there are lots of good shops in Summit County. read more

Aside from the fact that Precision Ski is hands down the best ski tuning shop in Summit County, the owner, Jimbo, is first class. I bought ski boots, but hadn't picked them up or had any work done on them. In the meantime, I found out I had issues with my right knee & couldn't walk in a regular ski boot without significant pain. Jumbo didn't carry the boot that my orthopedic surgeon recommended & graciously refunded my money. He could have said I had paid for the boots & they were my boots. I have found the holy grail - a boot fitter! Tim at Precision turned me back into a skier by getting my too-big ski boots to fit. This is an old school shop; small & locally owned. They rent & sell downhill skis, boots & accessories (helmets, socks, etc). While Tim was working on my boots, I heard the other guys giving excellent advice to people who walked in asking about skis. If you're not sure what kind of ski you need, they will rent demo skis & apply the first day's rental to your purchase price. Despite the small size, they're a one-stop shop; they also do ski tuning & adjustment. The prices are entirely reasonable; cheaper than some of the big-box shops around town. read more

I was told a ski tune was $45 when I dropped my skis off. When I picked them up, they charged $60 because they said the base needed work. No phone call, and when I told the guy who charged $60 about what the other technician said (he wasn't there when I picked up), he said I should have read the sign on the wall that gives the different prices, and that I got a full tune rather than the $45 tune. read more
