Bartenders were very friendly and welcoming! We were standing at the barricade, so we chatted with the security guards and they were some of the nicest workers I've met at a show! They had lots of water bottles on hand to pass out to anyone who needed it, which is always great to see. The bands sounded great and we had an awesome time. While many compare it to Disney World, I don't think the overall experience is on the same level, even though Dollywood may actually have more rides. The biggest area needing improvement is parking. It took us nearly an hour to get into the park because traffic was backed up and all cars were directed into the Splash Country parking . We had to exit, re-enter, and ask an employee to open the cones so we could get into the correct entrance. Having separate, open (not closed with cones) clearly marked lanes for Dollywood and Splash Country would make the process much smoother. Simple fix . I also recommend upgrading to Preferred Parking. The standard parking tram lines were very long, while Preferred Parking lets you park much closer and walk straight to the entrance. Another improvement would be adding digital wait time signs at each ride. None of the rides indicated that so you could be in line anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours ! Having to open the app each ride and scroll through a massive list to see wait times in the heat isn't very convenient. Wait times on the app are also not available remotely as with Disney so you could properly decide the right time to go , can only can be seen when you are in the park. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and may return.

Be prepared to do a lot of walking, as the park is divided into several themed sections, each with about four or five rides. Parking costs $25, so it's something to include in your budget before you arrive. One thing to know before you go is that if you want unlimited fountain drink refills, you'll need to purchase a refillable cup. The cup costs around $30, and you must scan it each time you refill your drink. One of the highlights of our visit was exploring Dolly Parton's museums. They were beautiful, informative, and gave us a deeper appreciation for Dolly's life, career, and accomplishments. I left the park a new fan! We spent about six hours at Dollywood and still didn't have enough time to see everything. There's so much to explore that you could easily spend an entire day or even two there. We didn't have a full meal while we were at the park, but we enjoyed several snacks, including churro fries, a pretzel, and nachos, which were all tasty. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend Dollywood to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly destination. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes, budget for parking and drink refills if you plan to purchase them, and allow plenty of time to experience everything the park has to offer! I even found myself wishing we stayed at the Biltmore Inn so we could wake up and enjoy the beauty everyday in Asheville. We visited during Luminere, which is a new attraction where the Biltmore estate and gardens basically light up after 9pm. We got there a few hours earlier to enjoy the grounds, do some wine tasting (lines too long so just purchased some wine instead) and take in a beautiful sunset. It really is the most gorgeous place to watch a sunset. Luminere began with a light show that shared the history of the Biltmore Estate which i found pretty interesting. Then we walked thru the gardens, which was all lit up similar to what i've experienced at many botanical gardens during the holidays. It was a gorgeous night, a beautiful show and a great way to get our steps in. I think visiting the Biltmore any time of day would be special, but this was an extra fun way to see it!

We came with a 13 year old and quickly realized that the show was much more appropriate for younger children. The train was nicely decorated and they gave us hot chocolate and a cookie. The hot chocolate was not hot, but the kids all seemed to like it. The reading of the story/"show" was overall pretty corny, but we also recognize the target age range. We would have liked to have been able to purchase other drinks or snacks while onboard, but the told us that was only for the 5 hour long morning train. My advice if doing this train ride: 1) come with younger children 2) go during the day so you can see more 3) bring whatever snacks or drinks you may want for the ride (though it's only 1 hour 15)

There was a big dedicated parking lot so parking was easy. Inside the venue, they had face painting and other kid-friendly activities while you were waiting for the show to start. Overall, we all really liked the performance! The acrobats were impressive and the trained animals did a great job. The dinner was mediocre, which was kind of expected. I had heartburn afterwards, so parents beware :) I tried ordering a beer but the website didn't work properly so I couldn't submit payment. Kind of annoying but probably for the best given the heartburn. Our 4 year old really enjoyed the show but did get bored about halfway through, so I guess the length of the show may be a bit better for older kids. Overall, we had a good time, although the price tag was a little high for me. I probably wouldn't come back but I do think it's worth seeing at least once!
