Mountain Mike's Pizza had opened up in Union City; I was very excited to try. I frequently go to restaurants in that plaza. However, I was very disappointed. We ordered a large combination pizza. Our large combination pizza was very doughy and stale. It tasted like it was not cooked properly and was just reheated. We ate a slice and tossed it. What a waste of money. I love supporting businesses and new businesses but it's a very disappointing experience. My wife and I got 3 pizzas from them for a party that we hosted. We ordered the night before and when we took them home....the pizzas were ummm burnt and overcooked? There was no one at this pizza joint when I went and how can they still mess it up? The inside of the restaurant was dark and empty? How you make pizza isn't really that hard. Very rude!!! I have an account and always get discounts or bank money with each other. I click on a $25 meal deal coupon. Which was a large pepperoni pizza and mini churrol and 2 liter soda. For some reason it didn't transfer over. When I girl over the phone was explaining that she noticed my comment about what soda I wanted. I was like yes for the coupon I choose. One of the first places that practiced actual social distancing and followed the guidelines. It has always been very clean. I have been going to this location since it first opened. They keep it so clean that it still looks very new. I always get my pizza piping hot. Staff is also friendly and helpful. When they had the salad bar it was always well stocked and spotless. Anyway, I ordered a couple pizzas, and a couple sides ALL completed through their online ordering service, didn't speak to one person- it was fast and easy, also our order had NO PROBLEMS... Our favorite pizzas are Snowy Alps, Chicken Club and Everest. I love their garlic white sauce which comes on the Snowy Alps and Chicken Club. Everest is their best red sauce pizza. Mountain Mike's is open for takeout during the pandemic, orders and down from the usual amount but they say they are doing alright. When you go in for pickup they have the restaurant set up so that you pay at the register and they deliver the food on tables near the door. As for the food, Mountain Mike's has great pizza, the wings are good and my kids love the garlicky bread twists. They distribute coupons liberally through the community. When you have a coupon the food is a great deal. I like that they keep the restaurant clean and they always have the TV on. I've never eaten in the restaurant myself but I've watched a lot of TV while waiting for my pizza. Generally when I order on the phone the time estimates are a little short and I end up waiting for 5 minutes, no big deal. read more

This is just for the Lunch Buffet, which is border line a scam. We came here on a Wednesday and arrived at around 11:40am for their lunch buffet. We walked in and the place is fairly clean and has a lot of TVs. Cool. But no pizzas for the buffet. Reluctantly, I asked the person at the front, Richard, if there are any pizzas. He said, yes, they will make them now because someone actually came... should have just walked out right there and then. We started at the salad bar and it was organized and neat but you could tell that the vegetables and salad was not fresh, at least a few days old as some of them have lost color (I've never seen white and transparent banana peppers in my life before). The potato salad looked dried and discolored, and the leafy greens were somewhat wilting. After about 10-15 minutes, the first pizza came out. A small pepperoni pizza. It wasn't bad. After another 10 minutes, a small combo pizza came out.... then no more. It wasn't until we had to ask Richard, whom was hiding in the back, if more pizza varieties would be coming out. He said that he wouldn't unless we want to specially order a pizza and that he doesn't intend to make any more pizzas. We were both like wtf? This is supposed to be a pizza buffet with options rather than just two small pizzas. For the price and cost of both of us, why wouldn't we just have purchased the two small pizzas?! We asked for another pizza and he reluctantly agreed and after about 15 minutes, put out a small Hawaiian pizza. Their pizzas aren't actually bad. Their service is and fundamentally, you don't offer an All You Can Eat pizza buffet if you're only going to supply 1 small pizza to each customer that comes in. I get it, if you don't have many patrons, it doesn't make sense to be wasteful of food. Fine. But don't try to sell what you refuse to do for your patrons that pay the FULL price with the expectations that you will provide them with MORE than 2 small pizzas. Your BIG ass poster displaying to the general public outside shows 7+ pizzas of various kinds... pretty deceptive. I gave you a friggin tip swiping my credit card too. Had I known that we were only going to be getting two small pizzas (and not of our choice) I would have just bought the two small pizzas and left. First off my family and I used to frequently order food from here and the dyer st location often and when unable to pick up 3rd party services to support there buisness. I had my daughters 10th birthday here everything was fine until my boyfriend wanted to use the restroom Towards the end of us leaving the manager lady the Asian lady thats always there told him he couldn't use the bathroom. The asian manager racially profiled my boyfriend and wouldn't let him use the bathroom but the resturant was empty when we had arrived and it was just us 3 she said she never saw him. she said she didn't know but other people in my party that were of African American decent were followed around by her we spent alot of money to have the party there and to be refused the bathroom because she thought he was someone else when clearly he was at the party in the entire time never went outside except to get the charger for a phone to come back in to the Asian lady telling him no and refusing to let him use the restroom and a Hispanic cook blocking the bathroom door aggressively and just starring uncomfortably for us to leave and we were already heading out and we were trying to get everything to get out to leave the online time said 10 pm but it seemed like after the incident with the lady the were trying to kick us out keep in mind was only around 830 and they were rushing us to leave after the bathroom situation. My boyfriend was dressed clean nice shoes on and shaved so there was really no reason to not allow him to use the restroom and she followed him assuming he was coming from outside to bother the party.Definitely lost a customer who has been a customer since they have opened both locations. Definitely not worth the money after being refused the bathroom even if the pizza was good refusing the restroom to someone who gave you business when we could of spend money elsewhere that wouldn't of racially profiled and wouldn't let use the restroom. 'YESSSSS' I thought to myself and I declared boisterously "that's what I'm talk'n about , BLEACH BABY" and I dang near skipped to the counter to retrieve my order. I had to wait a moment as the two staff members I saw were obviously busy caring (I freaking LOVE IT) The order had been ready for some time, I went to the wrong location at first and it took me a minute to get to the right one. And this is absolutely the right one. My pizza was still warm and I was advised that because I had ordered through DoorDash, the cheese and peppers were already in the box. However that part, is a little unsanitary- I quickly got over it. The pizza was as expected from mountain mikes, delicious and accurate. I don't normally post negative comments or reviews of local businesses, but I have to in this case because no one deserves to be treated the way I was recently by Mountain Mike's at the 34533 Alvarado-Niles location. In short, the pizza delivery driver had trouble finding my unit (I get it). He called me so I explained directions the way I have to every other driver who has found their way to me just fine. I was patient, at first. But he kept hanging up on me whenever I tried to give him directions. He said words I couldn't understand and then wouldn't answer when I called him back. When we were on the phone, I could hear him asking my neighbors where my unit is instead of listening to ME who could tell him where exactly. What's worse though: when I called to speak to a manager to ask what was going on with my pizza, she essentially blew me off and showed no concern for the fact that her driver had been so rude to me and was still lost after 30 minutes of waiting and multiple phone calls. She even implied it was my fault the driver was lost! After close to an hour of this, I finally lost my patience and demanded they refund the cost of my pizza. Good customer service would have done this from the beginning. I had a tired, hungry kid excited about Saturday night pizza that never arrived. Please, don't support this business until they learn to treat customers with some respect. We are their neighbors, with children. On positive note, the Mountain Mike's on Decoto has excellent customer service. I thought that's where I had ordered from so next time I'll be sure to order from the Decoto location. read more
