I explain this photo in my review
Mike H.

Dr. Cosko is one of the most sincere and honest veterinarian's I've ever met. Truly a professional in her field. And I've met some heinous repulsive excuses of a veterinarian from where I'm from. Finding a veterinarian for a love of animals like mine is truly hard ironically enough. She is clear, straightforward, and empathetic. I could NOT recommend a better vet in the vicinity. Even if you're from Los Angeles this vet is worth the drive. No one will take better care of your children (Pets) Ps. I only included this photo in my review because it shows how much Dr Cosko and her team care. I've had three dogs and three cats in my lifetime so far with more to come but somehow I've never seen anything close to this poster in any vet ever! And you would they think would be the number 1 spokesperson for this type of thing. But Mountain Aire Vet is.

We even received a thank you note and an adorable picture of our Maisy.

We are so grateful for the care our dog received at Mountain Aire Vet. We have a part time home in Pine Mountain Club, so we generally handle veterinary care near our primary residence. However, during our Winter Break, our dog (Maisy) had an acute allergic reaction that wasn't responding to Benedryl. Neighbors recommended we call Dr. Cosko and we are so grateful we did. Her staff was able to squeeze us in on a same day appointment, she did a thorough exam and her treatment plan resolved the issue quickly. She also gave us great information to take back to our regular vet for future treatment. Her staff was incredibly kind and patient. The offices were clean and inviting. One caution we received was to expect a hefty bill, but we found our charges for the thorough exam and medications to be priced very fairly. She even gave us her cell number to call if any issue arose during the holiday while they were closed!! Exceeded my expectations on every level. Thank you Dr. Cosko and everyone in your office.

My Pup At the vet

My 7 week old Rottweiler was sick the first day I got him and I wasn't able to get in anywhere in Bakersfield CA. However I called here and it happened to be on a day where they are open (TEMPORARY HOURS Saturday after the first Wednesday of the month) Dr Cosko was the absolute best she was the sweetest and absolutely attentive to my pup. Her Vet MA was also so helpful. I can't believe I forgot her name but she literally caught my puppy's barf with her own hands while my pup was hooked up to IV fluid. You can tell she has passion to work here, all of the staff there you can tell LOVE their job. I'm so grateful I went here my Pup got the best service. I wish I lived closer

MOJO
James W.

Dr. Cosko cost my Lhasa Apso Mojo his life. She diagnosed him @ 1 p.m. and sold me @ $250 in medications. She said she needed to do further examinations, and kept me waiting until 6 p.m. She then prescribed a medication that required pharmaceutical supply. The pharmacy here closes at 6 p.m., so I had to drive to Castaic to obtain it. Upon purchase, I immediately gave the medication to Mojo. He passed away as we were exiting the 5 Freeway at Frazier Park. I dropped the $250 box of medications Dr. Cosko had sold me at the side door of her facility. Dr. Cosko apologized, but notified me she would not be able to refund the purchase price on these unopened medications she sold me. Had she told me at 1 p.m. that I would have to wait for hours for her to finish her examination of Mojo, I could have gone to the local (El Tejon) pharmacy and gotten Mojo the medication he needed to survive. I rescued a woodpecker laying on the road in Frazier Park. Took him home with me and put him in my lanai. His wing was broken, but he was walking all over the room enjoying the children's toys. I asked Patrice Stimpson if she knew of anyone who might be able to help. She put me in touch with a woman who had a bird sanctuary here on the mountain. I met the woman at the Y (turn-off to PMC) and gave Red to her, asking that Red be returned to me (with his wing repaired, so I could bring him back to where I found him in Frazier Park; or if his wing could not be repaired, so he could enjoy life in my lanai). I loved the little guy's enthusiasm, notwithstanding his inability to fly. The woman never got back to me. I reached out to Patrice....and was eventually advised that Red had been taken to Dr. Cosko, who put the woodpecker to sleep.

We have taken ALL of our pets to Dr. Cosko. The care and attention Dr. Cosko and her amazing staff provide is 2nd to none. We actually moved from the Mountain Communities to Vegas but continue to take our dogs back to Dr. Cosko. If you want a full service vet that offers knowledge, patience and compassion, I highly recommend Mountain Aire. The picture is our Little Mina. Even though we live out of state we still make the trek back for the best vet care around.

Chance and us are so grateful for the care we received.

My sister gives them the highest rating for the compassion and care they gave our beloved dog, Chance. Dr. Cosko is highly knowledgeable and offers a spectrum of options from conservative to whatever-it-takes interventions. The professionalism of the staff is extraordinary, and you can be assured that your pet will get the highest quality of care. When my sister had to ultimately put our furry family member to sleep, the entire staff stayed late and gave her patience and sincere empathy in her moment of darkest need. For their amazing care and compassion in our dog's senior years and through to her passing, I am so very grateful.

The cat was everything we hoped for and more. Becky even gave us some cat food to get us started, which although we didn't need it, was another generous thing on her part. Thanks again, from the family and the cat!

Horrible, horrible experience. Nothing that I was told was true…read more I responded to an posting on Craigslist for the MC SPA which focused on barn/hunting cats and the following is a direct quote from that posting: "Any cat you receive from us will be healthy, is spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies and other cat diseases, treated for earmites, worms, and fleas, and tested negative for FELv and FIV." Further, in the same post this is restated as: "I work independently and with the Mountain Communities SPCA. Together, we rescue cats and kittens, give them needed medical attention, and then help them find good homes. These cats have been checked by a vet, vaccinated, treated for worms, earmites, and fleas, spayed or neutered, and tested negative for FELv and FIV. Please consider adopting rescue cats for safe rodent control." After battling a vole infestation in my yard to no avail, I saw the Craigslist posting and, this seemed like a win-win situation: vole control and give a good home to 2 cats. I had several conversations with a woman named Becky, clearing stating what I was looking for: 2 older, independent, female cats, to live in my garage and backyard; friendly enough that I could put flea medication on them and take them to the vet without having to trap them. Becky professed to understand clearly and completely and several weeks later showed up with 2 female cats. What I got were two female cats [ONE OF WHICH I LATER LEARNED HAD NOT BEEN SPAYED!], that were not vet checked, not vaccinated, not treated for earmites, worms, fleas or tested for FELv or FIV. Sadly, I later learned that these two "senior" cats had been apparently indoor cats their entire lives -- yet suddenly were being rehomed for outdoor rodent control. I kept these cats confined in my garage for six weeks and spent time around them daily, hoping to ease the acclimation. As the weeks progressed Becky gradually relayed more and more of the back-story of the cats -- she apparently picked them up from an abandoned house and drove them directly to me. Becky stated that she took the word of an sick, elderly woman regarding everything to do with these cats; and she repeatedly faulted the elderly woman for misinformation rather than take any responsibility for not evaluating these cats or getting them veterinary treatment. ...isn't that what a rescue does? One of the cats was extremely aggressive, to the point of ripping out clumps of fur of the other; it was clear that these cats should not be together and were much more in need of foster situations than being placed as mousers. Becky did pick up both cats, after I trapped them, and continued to place all blame for the situation on the elderly woman. I'd like to think that Becky was actually trying to do something good, despite all the discrepancies between the SPCA Craigslist posting and what I experienced... but she told me that she contacted the elderly woman she got the cats from and tried to get her to take them back -- back to an abandoned house in frigid temperatures, with little human contact, where one of the cats was ripping into the other! Really?!?!? This is what a rescue does?! The Craigslist posting very specifically identified Becky's affiliation with this group, even listing their website and their direct telephone number, in addition to hers. I also wrote a check to MC SPCA, as a donation, when she brought me cats -- further confirming her affiliation.

I was specific of all the areas of concerns with Jay during the evaluation. He recommended four sessions for Jazz. At first I thought no way will this Boxer be corrected with four sessions. To my surprise I quickly learned otherwise. First session Jay addressed the running out the front door when opened. Jazz immediately obeyed Jay and myself. So impressive! Second session we needed Jazz to sit on his bed during breakfast & dinner. While his owner in a wheelchair enjoys his meals. Jay accomplished that in half the session. Third session was walking. Being able to keep Jazz on my side and from growling at other people or dogs. In one session Jay empowered me to lead Jazz. A big task for some of us women who struggle with being pack leaders. Jazz and I have been enjoying some lovely walks. Thank you Jay!!! Fourth session was calling Jazz in from backyard. Jazz did well with Jay. That is something I am sure I will master shortly! If not, I now have a dog expert to reach out to for help. Jazz was so excited to see Jay on a weekly basis. Jay was so loving and it made me realized I was not loving with Jazz. He is not my dog but my clients. However, I have started to love on him. This way he feels he belongs to someone and that he is loved. This poor dog came from the shelter during COVID. I have no idea what life he had before. However, now Jazz is living his best life ever thanks to Tails of Success. I have always felt professional dog trainer have. value. This recent situation has re-enforced their value based on their experience, quick results, and in home training. I highly recommend this experts. Side note: make sure you do your homework daily to reinforce all Jay's teaches your pet. This way you too will be a happy client with a happy pet.

She seemed annoyed and in a hurry. She was late, so maybe she was in a hurry, so she wouldn't be late to the next appointment. If you're looking for a vet to come and be a vet and administer medications, you may be a good fit. If you're looking for a more compassionate experience, you may not be. One thing I had a major problem with was her decision to administer an oral sedative. I watched the video on her website to know what to expect. My experience was not like that video. I didn't even know an oral sedative was an option. She said she was going to inspect the patient to see what type would be best. I told her not oral. He hated oral medications. I didn't want his last moment to be forced to do something he hates. She insisted because supposedly the injection would cause pain. I should have insisted. Because my poor boy was so weak, he was out as soon as she administered the medication. His last moment was her forcing that nasty medication into his mouth, and then he was just... gone. I thought I would at least have a minute or two while the sedative was talking effect, to say goodbye. But, no. I obviously have no proof, but I felt like she did that because the oral would take effect quicker than the injection. I had a feeling the night before and morning of that I should cancel and look for someone else to come later that day, or the next day. I should have followed my gut. I wish I paid her $450 to cancel on the spot, as soon as I felt the energy was off. One reason I chose her is because I like the crematorium she partners with, and what they offer. However, when I called them, they said her pick ups are Tuesday and Friday. So, my cat being euthanized on a Tuesday would be sitting in her morgue until Friday, when they pick him up. Then, I would be able to do a viewing and "next day" cremation Monday. I couldn't bare the thought of my boy laying in a morgue all week. I opted to take him in myself. The second she told me she had a body bag for him, that she would carry him out in, I knew my decision was the right one. I took him myself that day, had a viewing for him the next day, and paid for same day cremation. Also, one reason I chose her was because of the clay paw print. But, I think it looks terrible. I am glad I opted for in home euthanasia. I would personally not use Dr Watson again. However, she may be a good fit for you
