And it's impossible to reach them by phone (besides leaving a message and getting a call back in a few days... which isn't reasuring when I'm calling to check how much longer the grooming will take). But they usually did what I requested, and I was happy with the result. But the last time I brought in my dog, my dog was very badly injured when I picked her up. They hurt her leg somehow - I'm going to guess they forcefully held her paw for nail cutting, instead of acknowledging her protests. (She's a vocal breed, so unfortunately some groomers are inclined to ignore her vocal cues.) My dog couldn't stop whimpering in pain for 2 months. Even in her sleep, she would wake up whimpering from the pain (for about a month). I took her to the vet right away, thinking maybe her leg was broken. The vet said nothing was broken or dislocated, thankfully. But her whimpering in pain broke my heart. What also bothers me is that when I dropped her off, I told the person she has sensitivity in her front paws so to please be gentle. Obviously that was ignored. One factor (I have to assume) is that the person I dropped my dog off with is not the same person who was there when I picked up my dog. So I wonder if what I said even got communicated to whoever was grooming her or cutting her nails. I called Wizard of Paws, and they denied knowing what I was talking about (that my dog had been injured, was whimpering in pain, etc) - said they had no idea how it may have happened, and that it surely wasn't because of them. Overall, it was mostly fine getting my dog groomed here... until it wasn't.

My dog is 11, arthritic, with cancer and could hardly walk after getting home. Dorrie also clean feeted her when I had asked her to shave her paws for foxtails. Dorrie, that usually means shaving the paws and between the toes. Not the tops of her feet as well! Now I get to watch that she doesn't get sunburned all summer. Maybe her hair will grow back before she dies. How sad. I should have looked better to see that your one five star review was from yourself. My daughter, a professional groomer who trains for Petsmart grooming, is furious. She told you exactly what was needed and you did none of it. Had you de shedded her prior to grooming, maybe she wouldn't have razor burn (literal burns) on her stomach. And shaving her tail? Her beautiful fluffy tail looks like a rat tail. Do yourself a favor. 1. Get a hearing aid so you hear what people say to you 2. Don't accept big dogs that are obviously too much for you. 3. Get approval before you just assume shaving. It was just easier for you. She was not that matted. I just brushed her 3 weeks ago. I could and have done so much better myself. Never ever again. Please love your dog enough to go somewhere else.

She took the time to ask me exactly how I wanted him to be groomed and she followed it all. I picked him up much quicker than I am used to with other places and she was very kind. She even gave him a cute little bow to top it all off. I will be definitely returning to her in the future.

Hands down the girls at this place from the owner to the groomers, 100000000000% amazing. I called and the owner immediately just listened to me and accommodated everything I needed. As soon as I got there the girls knew exactly about the situation. They all had amazing communication and booked me with the same groomer from last time. Which also she did an amazing job on too!!! Ugh I just can't stress how great this place and these girls are. Oh also the best part, I asked if they can save some of cocos hair so that I can as it as stuffing for a teddy bear or something and they not only saved it but also gave me a cute hand made Polaroid! I started tearing up. Thank you thank you thank you! You guys are seriously amazing!

When I walked in around 8:25am on a Friday, I was happy to see no one was there except someone that worked there and another lady in the back. I was not greeted with a smile or any customer service rather, a deer in headlights look and "do you have an appointment" no I said. I told her I looked at their website thoroughly and nothing said I needed an appointment unless I was paying for her to be groomed, which I wasn't. She still insisted I could not use the empty wash bins, no other customers, unless I made an appointment. I couldn't believe it. I had already driven 30 minutes to get here with my 100 lb Great Pyrenees and I did not want to leave so I begged. Please, I said, it will only take a few minutes. She let me but then mixed up the soap in a separate container that was incredibly watered down. I asked if I could use the shampoo that was literally right in front of me and she quickly replied, no. There's a risk of allergens ok cool. She was a nice enough person and I'm going to let her slide because maybe she's new or has never worked in customer service. Next time I'm going to Tehachapi.
