Went after New Years and it was pretty busy since this mountain is accessible to Epic pass holders. I went with a group of beginners and there were lots of magic carpet runs which was good for them but not many longer greens for more advanced beginners. Tried a blue later in the day but the run was super slushy with lots of crud. The lodge was really nice with lots of seating and a decent number of food options. Also appreciated that there were 2 lodges to break up the crowds. Note if you are renting skis, it's not at the main lodge. Also if you end up parking in lot 2, it's a bit of a long hike. If you end up in lot 3, you will be taking the bus.

Beautiful ski resort that is 1 hour or 1.5 hours outside of Boston. The resort was well maintained and the staff was very helpful. The lines were crazy long but we apparently went on the busiest weekends of the year. Schedule lessons and rentals as far in advance as possible.

One of the best places I've ever skied! Huge mountain with lots of runs, fun trails, and a variety of lifts. We had amazing ski conditions and enjoyed the lodges as well. I rented skis and was able to keep them for the entirety of our trip back at our hotel. It was very convenient not to have to go drop off and pick up new rentals each day. The computerized system was fairly easy to use. Ski-wise we noticed a big difference in lineups when the main express wasn't lift open. However we were able to ski up and down the back of the mountain which was even more fun than expected. I loved that people of different levels could ski a similar course, but veer off for a while and end up in the same lift line. Our friends' daughter had a great experience at ski school and got a daily report card of her achievements. The lodge had pretty good food. The first day we ate at the top of the mountain and I had chili in a bread bowl. The next day we are in the main lodge at the bottom of the hill and I had bites of a make your own burrito, a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. There lots more of a selection compared to the mountain top place. They had pizza, prepackaged goods, as well as a full kitchen made to serve burgers, fries, chicken fingers, etc. Another skier we met said there were warm alcohol adult beverages as well but we didn't get that far. The ski shop was fun to check out with lots of gear, goggles, outfits, cute hats and socks, as well as hand and feet warmers for $2.50. We had a great experience- glad our friends' epic passes pointed us this way. We would definitely ski/snowboard here again in the future. The drive back to NYC was fun as went got to stop in Vermont and Massachusetts.

This was my very first time down hill skiing on the east coast! I was injured halfway through the day and ski patrol was simply AMAZING. Their customer service was impeccable!! Less than 5 minutes after I was injured, ski patrol showed up with their toboggan to take me down to the infirmary. They were very gentle and patient throughout the whole process and made me feel very comfortable. At the first aid zone, the EMT was incredibly gentle and helpful. He made me a DIY splint for my knee and even gave me crutches to take home with me. The food at the top of the lodge was also very affordable! Most things were less than 10$ and I loved the unlimited condiments they provided for hot dogs and cheeseburgers. I was not used to the terrain because it is quite a bit icier and flatter than the west coast. However my local friend said that Sunapee grooms really well which was nice. The only con I would say is that the map is a bit confusing and we got lost on the trails for a bit. Otherwise great experience and worth coming back!

Nice fall foliage hiking! Trail head is hard to find, so I climbed up ski trail. It's steep for some part, but manageable. Easy to moderate. My blog about this hike is here at https://takakohiking.blogspot.com/

The ski service went downhill the recent years. It is COVID days, understandably it would be a bit slow or wait for everyone. However, there is extremely long lines, looks like the whole New England came to this mountain. Is there real a cap on how many skiers on the mountain ? All the parking lots are full and many cars are parked along the road. Bring your own food, wait to buy food is slow, getting a table to eat inside is long wait. Skiing condition is reasonable. Always nice views on top.

Awesome summer pit stop or all day stop. The staff, activities, views... everything about this place is amazing! If you take the ride to the top of the mountain, don't let the look of it get you down from the base. It keeps going to the top, far beyond what you see.

Quiet Wednesday morning with fluffy snow

Two for one deal Wednesdays are a steal! $72 for two people all day snowboarding during peak season. Can't get no better than that. Fresh powder, fresh powder! The resort had a decent amount of people even in the middle week, but you'll find older folk and sometimes high schools too that go. What do these people do though? I was on spring break, but heck don't these folk need to work or go to school too??? Anyways, barely any wait, but of course it got busier around noon. The main lot might be full but it'll look sparse all around. My friend and I lucked out when it started to lightly snow during the day so there was some fresh powder! either way, the trails weren't icy and at the beginning weren't full of darn skier bumpers. Green trails are great for a total beginner. Not too long, short, slopped, or level. We stuck to the easy blue trails on the mountain and they were definitely just right for our still learning level, while the trails were very wide to accommodate many skiers and snowboarders. But because we went midweek at times it was just you and the snow and the occasional others. I can't imagine going on a weekend but this is by far my favorite mountain and I can't wait to try the other trails.

    The Beach picnic area!

Holy smoke, "The Beach". This strip of snow in front of the parking area is the place to set up camp for the day. We arrived at 7 AM and scored the last front spot. Folks set up smokers, BBQ's, gas powered heat lamps, wind shades, tents and full on party camp sites. We had a blast mingling with our neighbors and taking runs to return to our site. Conditions on the slopes were near perfect early on and iced up as the day ended. The top of the mountain at the lifts is packed making for tight entry into the trails. I had two kids collide into me from behind end of the day on two separate incidents. Mid trails, things thin out. I prefer the west side trails for better conditions. Staff are super nice. LOVE Sunapee.

Unlike other areas where I feel I have to have eyes in the back of my head looking for out-of-control Jerry's, Tenney gave me the feeling of pure enjoyment. Prices are not too bad (if compared to Killington) and the slopes are well maintained. They have a food court with quick options, a bar with a more elaborate menu, and an indoor and outdoor fire pit. Their bar/restaurant Perley's is where we had lunch. The resort is owned by the venerable Woodstock Inn, a gem of national distinction. And the upscale air is evident in the friendliness and poise of the staff at Saskadena. A huge lodge with historical pictures everywhere, including memorializing the first motorized life transportation in the US, a 900 foot rope tow built in 1934. Formerly named Suicide Six, the resort centers around a modern yet charming lodge with a huge hearth, a bustling cafeteria, and a well stocked bar. The resort is a scant eight minute ride from the beautiful town of Woodstock, where the Rockefeller and Billings legacy is still visible. Parking at Saskadena Six is not an issue, the parking areas are close to the lodge and a ramp takes the visitor to the lodge area. Saskadena Six has been a part of the Indy Pass for a few years now, and it has become a family favorite. Entering the lodge, one can perform ticket purchases inside or outside. Donning boots and equipment is done in benches and chairs in the lodge, with inside cubicles around the walls. The lodge has plate glass windows on its entire slope facing side, providing beautiful views of the ski area. Once ready to hit the slopes, the nearest lift is the fixed quad that takes the visitor to the 1,200 foot summit. The resort has a 650-foot vertical drop, featuring 24 runs on 100 acres.. Besides the quad, Saskadena sports a double lift on the far side of the resort, and a J-bar. The challenging Show Off run is a steep, mogul filled track, while The Face and Crystal are parallel black diamonds. Several other runs feature both natural, groomed and mogul filled. Saskadena Six usually gets 110 inches of yearly snow, augmented by a vigorous snowmaking system. Dining at Saskadena Six is quick and efficient. A roped off area separates the alcohol-served areas from the rest of the lodge. Several local brews are on tap, as well as national selections. Skiing Saskadena is a pleasure. Small but quite pleasant, devoid of the stress of the larger ski areas in New England. Its history and charm are welcome assets in an industry where sterility seems to be popular.
