Beautiful sites available right on the water. Other site away from the water area available too. 3. SUPER easy check-in. 4. Not a ton of rules/regulations like most campgrounds and there didn't need to be as everyone is very respectful there, like it should be! 5. Dogs allowed as long as they are on a leash at all times. Again, not a lot of red tape, paperwork and rules to bring your dog camping which is so nice! 6. Campground and facilities are well maintained and clean. 7. Great location with lots to do nearby. 8. Wood for campfires available for $4 a bundle. Cons 1. We picked a site #56 because it was on the water and close to one of the bathroom locations listed on their map. While they were certainly close, they were actually porta pottys, not actual bathrooms with running water. Not a huge deal ,but had we know this, we probably would've picked a site closer to one of the real bathrooms with running water. 2. No central location to wash dishes other than your campsite. 3. Some of the sites along the water are very narrow and close together. We could actually hear the couple in the site next to us talking every morning when they woke up and it was not because they were loud. 4. No campground store so if you forgot something, you're going to have to venture out in the surrounding area to find what you need. There is plenty nearby, but it's always nice if you can just get it from the campground store. Your best options are site 61 if you want a nice, large site on the water (not a lot of privacy) or site 65 for a nice, large site, but very private with only one site next to you and the other side is trees. If you like camping in an open field with other campers and don't mind the lack of privacy, they have that option too. Really something for everyone. One last note, showers are 50 cents for 6 minutes. Not a pro or con in my opinion, but certainly worth mentioning so you are prepared when you get there!

According to outdoor book there are moose here and sometime at lake. Campsites are clean and spacious and lakes are calm and good for kayaking, but 1-2 hours is enough to kayak all the lake. Good for relaxed weekend but not for intense outdoor activity.

We rented Stillwaters cabin that wasn't quite flat and the fire pit was awkwardly placed on the side a hill. Hard to sit around and enjoy while trying to keep your balance! Staff was friendly and we got to take our dog for 2 swims while there. Christmas in July weekend was nice. Seeing all the campers lit up with Christmas lights and stuff was fun to see. Main store had plenty of items for sale, reasonably priced. Wish the store had expanded hours during the busy season but nothing too pressing that couldn't wait until the next day. We will be back, thank you for taking our last minute reservation.

The fire pit on our site was full of debris, we could not safely have a fire. The women at the site across from us sat at the picnic table and screamed at most of the cars, about the speed limit, as they drove by. There was a rotten wood thing covering what looked like a hole. That had rusty nails stick out of it. Since the camper was at the street and the truck was parked, we only had about 6 feet between the two. As we were sitting outside between them, the children at the site next to use were having a nerf gun fight using the space behind our camper, I was hit with one of the bullets. I went to the office to complain. Nothing was done. We had paid for 4 nights we pulled out after the first night it was so bad!

The owners are amazing and friendly. They have a tiny store that mostly has shirts and some toys. They advertised ice but did not have any. There is an Irving gas station a few miles away that is stocked with great items, beer, wine, etc. They also make cold and hot sandwiches. Tiny playground for kids. Had some swings and a slide. I love that they have a game room with books and games you can take to your site. They placed rubber ducks around the campground and the kids loved finding them during their stay. Not too much going on locally and you would need to travel close to an hour for bigger tourist attractions. All in all, I will definitely return.

Local to the area about a 35 minute drive This was our first…read moretrip of the year with our new to us Lance truck Camper, as well as breaking in the kitties that are new to camping Our check-in day was April 20 through the 23rd We had a full site with hook ups. We've had no problem with our hook ups. Everything ran as it should. The campground has a Wi-Fi, but I did incur some buffering, but this campground also offers year-round camping so I'm sure there was a lot of people using it no big deal They also offer propane fills, which is convenient I booked online, which was easy fast and convenient Check-in at the campground was easy, fast convenient staff member was friendly and answered any questions I had I also felt the price for four days three nights was very reasonable. Total cost was $130. As far as if you need to leave the campground to go anywhere, I would say a Walmart Home Depot Lowe's grocery store in Concord area is roughly 25 to 30 minute ride, which is not bad The transient area in which we camped in we camped in site A4 all of the sites are for campers plug-in area. There are tent sites available, but the area we camped in all of the rv sites were covered in stone which to me seems clean and convenient. There is a pond with picnic tables paddle boats in a beachy area. It's April so no need for that but the view is pretty and it seems that that can only be seen from the transient area, not from long-term camping or from the tent area. There was a beautiful loon on the pond, which was often singing. It was nice to wake up to that in the morning and go to bed to it. There is a bathhouse with an adjacent laundry room. The bath house is very well kept again. This is April. It's very fresh wood and seems to me newly renovated. Water was very hot in the sink. i'm not sure about the laundry room. I did not need it, and the door was locked. There is a small playground for the children with some swings down at the beach Each camping area comes with a nice picnic table. They don't seem to be dilapidated in any way shape form. They also come with a fire ring, but there is no grate to cook on. We did walk the whole entire campground, long-term short-term and tent sites I found the tent sites to be nothing. I would be interested in if I had a tent long-term. There was some great sites deep in the woods overall, would I recommend yes, would I come back yes Thank you for a great first trip!

However, this spacious skies campground may just be the nicest one we've stayed at so far plenty of room most sites have a little bit of privacy between sites really nice set up here. Stumbled upon the Somerset Reservoir while we were out one day driving around the area; a couple of…read moreour friends were headed there to take their dog for a swim, so we decided to meet them. It is VERY much off the beaten path and once you turn on Somerset Rd., it's a good 3 or 4 mile drive to get to the general parking, picnic area near the water. Oh yeah, the road isn't paved either so it's best to have a 4x4 or some sort of vehicle with tires that can handle the trek. The general parking area is a decent size, there are a few picnic tables and a port-a-potty which was surprisingly clean. The reservoir itself is huge and great for kayaking or canoeing, neither of which we did, but I did see quite a few people there enjoying themselves on the water. There is one general walking direction which takes you to several different hiking paths and there is even a cute little bridge overlooking a beautiful stream. It had rained that morning and with leaves falling, the trails were a little slippery at points, but nothing that made me feel unsafe. I'd definitely recommend wearing sneakers or hiking boots of some kind. Between the group of us, we had 3 dogs and none of them were on a leash; people really didn't seem to care and everyone was friendly. The dogs enjoyed swimming in the water and I enjoyed looking at it. I'd most definitely go back to Somerset Reservoir with a camera and a light lunch to kick back and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
