We've had no problem with our hook ups. Everything ran as it should. The campground has a Wi-Fi, but I did incur some buffering, but this campground also offers year-round camping so I'm sure there was a lot of people using it no big deal They also offer propane fills, which is convenient I booked online, which was easy fast and convenient Check-in at the campground was easy, fast convenient staff member was friendly and answered any questions I had I also felt the price for four days three nights was very reasonable. Total cost was $130. As far as if you need to leave the campground to go anywhere, I would say a Walmart Home Depot Lowe's grocery store in Concord area is roughly 25 to 30 minute ride, which is not bad The transient area in which we camped in we camped in site A4 all of the sites are for campers plug-in area. There are tent sites available, but the area we camped in all of the rv sites were covered in stone which to me seems clean and convenient. There is a pond with picnic tables paddle boats in a beachy area. It's April so no need for that but the view is pretty and it seems that that can only be seen from the transient area, not from long-term camping or from the tent area. There was a beautiful loon on the pond, which was often singing. It was nice to wake up to that in the morning and go to bed to it. There is a bathhouse with an adjacent laundry room. The bath house is very well kept again. This is April. It's very fresh wood and seems to me newly renovated. Water was very hot in the sink. i'm not sure about the laundry room. I did not need it, and the door was locked. There is a small playground for the children with some swings down at the beach Each camping area comes with a nice picnic table. They don't seem to be dilapidated in any way shape form. They also come with a fire ring, but there is no grate to cook on. We did walk the whole entire campground, long-term short-term and tent sites I found the tent sites to be nothing. I would be interested in if I had a tent long-term. There was some great sites deep in the woods overall, would I recommend yes, would I come back yes Thank you for a great first trip!

I began staying at Sandy Beach as a seasonal camper in 2012. In the early years, it was a wonderful…read moreplace to spend summers with my young family. There were plenty of events, live bands, and activities for kids, and along the way, I made lifelong friends. For a long time, it truly felt like a community. Unfortunately, as the years went on, the experience steadily declined. The family-friendly events diminished, the bands became fewer, and the overall sense of community fun disappeared. What didn't decline, however, were the prices -- in fact, they rose significantly year after year, while the value provided shrank. In addition, more and more restrictive rules were placed on seasonal campers. This drove many long-term families to leave, and weekends that used to be full -- like Labor Day and the Fourth of July -- are now marked by empty sites. Sadly, I too have decided to leave after 13 seasons. For context, next year's seasonal fee for my site would have been over $8,000 plus taxes. On top of that, the campground instituted a troubling policy: you cannot sell your camper on-site without passing an "inspection." This inspection is not carried out by licensed professionals, but by staff with no clear qualifications. If your camper doesn't pass, you're forced to remove it by crushing and dumping it -- even if someone else might want to fix it up and enjoy it. This is wasteful, unfair, and puts families at the mercy of subjective decisions. After 13 years of loyalty, it's disheartening to see how far Sandy Beach has strayed from the place it once was. I can no longer recommend it to families looking for the kind of community and value that originally drew me here.

My son really wanted to go camping this summer, so this fit the bill. We don't own an RV/trailer, and tenting is not something appeals to me, we decided to reserve a cabin. I called only a few days advance and they had one cabin left for Sat-Mon. I was a little worried about some of the comments I read on Yelp, especially around the "Nazi-like rules". I'm happy to admit that none of that was visible during our visit. We arrived around 2pm on Sat and the resort was fairly busy, but not overcrowded. The check-in process was a breeze and we liked how the cabins were very close the pools, rec hall and playground. The cabins are rustic, but with some nice amenities. The dorm sized fridge/freezer was perfect for our 2 night stay and the flatscreen TV with DVD was perfect for the bedtime ritual. The cabin has a queen size bed and 2 sets of twin size bunkbeds. (Warning: the "twin" size is a little misleading, they are really 2/3 the width of a standard twin mattress) The cabin has a picnic bench inside and one outside... along with a fire ring and grate for grilling. We immediately headed for the pools after unpacking. There are 4 pools and 3 hot tubs. One pool and hot tub is for adults only....and they also have a pool and hot tub for kids only. There was a DJ playing great music (mostly classic rock). We sat around the far end of the "sun and play" pool which has basketball nets on opposite sides of the pool. I was a little concerned that they opted to use small basketballs instead of something softer. Of course, I saw plenty of kids get bonked on the head with people's "half court" shot attempts. Probably not the best idea. That night they projected a family movie on a screen next to the pool. The first night we grilled hot dogs on the fire and just relaxed. The cabin does not have AC, so we brought a floor fan with us. While it was pretty hot that day and the cabin was a little stuffy when we went to bed, but by early morning the temp had dropped outside enough that I had to close one of the windows and turn the fan off. The private bathrooms (3 total) were only 40 feet from our cabin and very clean. You need your room key to get into the bathrooms (which was little annoying). I loved how they blasted the radio (classic rock) in each private bathrooms. On Sunday morning, we got breakfast at the snack bar and it was delicious. I got 3 scrambled eggs with toast, home fries and ham steak ($6). We went to pool soon after and at 10am my son and I participated in one of the resort art activities and painted on canvas ($15/pp). The staff person was great and really enjoyed her role working with the guests of the resort. After that we spent the rest of the day at the pool area. The place was much quieter on Sunday as most of the non-seasonal crowd departed that morning, and a majority of the weekenders were there Fri-Sun. The kids got dinner at the snack bar (burger/fries and chix tenders/onion rings) and it was very good. That night we enjoyed another great fire and some TV before bed. Some of our neighbors several cabins down had a little bit of a party, and there was some commotion when 2 intoxicated females almost went to blows after a series of F and S bombs, but luckily it deescalated quickly. My kids and wife were inside watching TV, so they didn't hear any of it. Left early on Monday morning as I had to work. We all had a great time and will most likely be back again next summer as its only 35 mins from our house.

Now we have a basic solar kit to keep the batteries charged I was ready to go for it. This place is BEAUTIFUL. Pros and cons aside for a minute, we didn't want to leave. My husband is the beach lover but said this was probably his favorite we've camped at so far. (Granted some of it had to do with it being less than perfect weather and come Sunday morning we had almost the whole section to ourselves.) In our opinion the north side is nicer, and more set up size-wise for trailers. Any site from 101-112 is truly lake side and you can put your kayak or canoe in the lake right from there. We stayed at 116, and that section is more of a steep drop off but you still have wonderful lake views. But, it is also set up somewhat awkwardly with having to drive over the grass with not super clear markings. (119 is in front of 116 FYI. We felt bad setting up as we blocked some of their view.) That said, if you camp with friends, esp. tent camping it's a great area to reserve. The row of pull-through sites one up from the lake-side still offer a great water view and nice privacy between. The drawback is that if you are a family with young kids the access to the beach/swimming area is over at the east side. The bathrooms on the north side are small, very rustic and don't have dishwashing stations. However the ladies room shower has been updated to a real shower head and dial control that will let you regulate the hot water and stays on, not like the push button ones at Scusset or Salisbury! They were as clean as they could be, meaning they are old with an eroded cement floor so not much could be done. Oh and other reviews have mentions the traffic noise from 202 is loud at those sites that are nearest to roadway, and yes, we rode our bikes over there and it was terrible. And FYI some of the east side noise travels across the lake if you are at 113-118. Overall a totally different experience from Horseneck Beach, Scusset or Salisbury if you've been to those, but we really enjoyed it.
