Very relaxing, very welcoming, very clean, very friendly, and the wildlife encounters definitely make memories! We started as a seasonal at Cozy Pond about 7 years ago. The family who owns it (Joe and Liz) are doing an amazing job keeping up with the times. They just put in a splash pad AND a 2nd pool. They have bingo, dances, crafts, horseshoes, slip and slide and foam parties that are huge hits. They have added a new section for camping as well as a new playground. Life is short - live it up! I have been camping for many, many years and this is by far the worse we have even been treated! Also, I have reviewed this campground on other sites and he fires back with total dishonesty remarks. Just stayed here for 4th of July - very "Cozy" place, enough space between camp sites for privacy - but close enough to have neighbors. Lots of trees and very clean sites. The sites do come with a nice metal fire pit - do be-careful - if you place anything near the rim it will become EXTREMELY HOT / just take my word for it. While there is great tree coverage, it is safe to say that brining a pop up canopy is a good idea. Rain or shine / you'll be able to sit down and relax without being super hot or rained on. Pond is a fairly good size, and if you go at the right time there is a giant slip and slide down the hill. Fire wood is a available and they're sweet enough to let you take some after the shop is closed and pay in the morning! read more

This is my families first year at Cozy Pond and we absolutely love it here. The campsite we are at is large and the neighbors are friendly and helpful. I don't understand some of the complaints: staff and owners have always been nice and respectful, there continues to be improvements like new equipment for the playground, I enjoy the weekend actives (such as the water gun fights, golf cart rodeo, haunted house, fireworks, etc.) It's up to you to participate or be bored. I have never seen anyone with leaches on them and yes my grandchildren and myself have been in the pond and lastly, the place is very clean. If there is trash it is because some has left their campsite and left their crap behind, but the staff is usually right on it. Overall, I give this place a two thumbs up...plus it's dog and child friendly. read more

We stayed at Cozy Pond in mid-August and loved it. If a KOA resort is your speed, this isn't your spot (not yet, anyway); but if you like things a bit more rustic--more real camping than hotel style--you'll love it here. I agree with the earlier reviewer that there are a few kinks to iron out, but there are also lots of pluses. You couldn't ask for nicer, more accommodating hosts than Joe and Liz, and they have lots of plans for Cozy Pond (this was their first summer as owners). They plan to put in a pool and other amenities, but the pond was very nice (we were assured by some of our neighbors that there were mussels in there, which meant it was good, clean water), and frankly, pond swimming feels more like camping to me. The kids loved renting canoes ($5 an hour) and kayaks (and dunking each other). The bathrooms are very clean and bug-free, in part because the owners ask you to turn off the lights when you leave (the outside ones do stay on), and also in part, I expect, because most campers have their own facilities these days. Joe's truck was there every day, though. There's also a small laundry room. $2 in quarters to wash and $2 to dry, but just one time through dried a load of towels. Most of the sites are fairly roomy and right now, there are plenty open, but I think that's bound to change. If you're a seasonal, get in while the gettin's good, because I don't think it will take long for word to get out that the new owners are changing things for the better. On rainy days (we had a few days with occasional showers and a couple with torrential downpours), the pavilion offers plenty of room for kids to work off some energy--there were games and toys there for them to use--and when the camp is more full, I expect there will be regular events there. The new game room kept our teens (all 5 of them) happy. There's also a playground that younger kids used a lot. There are horseshoe pits and I think they're planning on a bocce ball court as well. There's also a basketball hoop. The electric and water outlets in our area (water-and-electric pop-up sites near the pond) were at the front of the site, which was a tad odd and required the camper to be situated up front, but that actually turned out to be kind of nice, as we faced toward the woods. Cozy Pond is just a few minutes away from the highway, but far enough that you don't hear traffic. It's just over 20 minutes from downtown Concord (which is charming), and just an hour to an hour and a half from Weirs Beach on Lake Winni, or Hampton and Rye beaches on the ocean (and just a few minutes further to the Maine beaches). It's also just a short drive north to the mountain attractions, so you can easily "do" all of New Hampshire from right there. Actually, you can see a lot of New England: Montpelier, Vermont (think Ben & Jerry's), is just over two hours northwest, and Burlington's another 30-45 minutes further on. Boston's just an hour and a half to two hours south, and Connecticut and Rhode Island are just south of that. Just in case, Concord also has a very good hospital, that's just 20 minutes from camp (long story). This is a nice little campground that's only going to get nicer. We will definitely stay there again. read more

I highly don't recommend this campground at all. The owner Joe is very very unpleasant and very unfair. Only wants to delegate and is very disrespectful. Tent sites are not equipped with equal or proper equipment. To use the electricity on the site that you pay for, you must buy an adaptor and they don't mention it when booking or checking in. Not all campsites have fire rings and the owner doesn't care that he's not properly equiped. Worst place I've ever camped. Enter at your own risk. read more

This is the best campground in new hampshire bar none..the staff are awesome, friendly, accomidating, and very helpful.. the campsite itself is huge and fun. This is a great place for kids and dogs. They have a pond with a slip and slide, dog pond, pool, playground, basketball court and the list goes on. We have been here for about a month now and will never leave. Even the camping folks here are great company..its like everyone is a family..they even have activities every single weekend...if your looking for an awesome campground....you found it. This was the worst experience we have ever had in all our years of camping. To own up, we were apparently too loud on the night before the 4th of July and we felt bad. It was past quiet hours and we were sitting around the fire talking. We had been there for the previous 2 years as well as the previous 4 nights without ever being spoken to. Once we were spoken to, we dispersed and went to bed. The next morning the owner Joe approached myself and 2 female friends. The first words out of his mouth were " You want to see what a fucking peckerhead I can be??" Right in front of my son. I had no idea what the heck he was talking about. Apparently, someone told him someone in our group called him that. He continued to swear and belittle and verbally abuse 3 women and a boy about something we knew nothing about. He also threatened to have the cops make us leave if we had to be spoken to again. In all our years of camping we have never been threatened or spoken to like that. We were a large group and also a bunch of professional, hard working people. We were on vacation and are not denying we were loud one night...but to be spoken to like that is unacceptable. Please know that at the same time plus at least an hour after that we could hear a radio blasting from a campsite down the way. When we told him about that, he just swore at us again. I have heard many complaints about the owner previously and even more after we talked about our incident. I havent even begun to mention the cluster it was speaking to the office staff prior to our stay about deposits, etc. I would never recommend this place nor go back there even if it were free. read more

I really liked this place. This campground is under new management and the new owners are very nice and committed to making this a better place to camp. There are a few kinks that need to be ironed out but overall, this was a great place to camp. The three star rating is simply because those little kinks aren't quite ironed out yet. They weren't particularly a bother to me, but I could see why some would be put off. I'd guess in a couple seasons this place will no longer be a work in progress and will be great! A few people complained about the tent sites, that there should be more tree cover. And I agree, it got very hot and there was just nowhere to go to get away from the sun. The sites were spacious though and each site had its own fire pit. The water/electric connections were a little awkward--every time we needed some water or to wash a dish we were standing just about on the site of the people next to us. There was one electrical box and spigot per site but they shared a post between every two sites. Does that make sense? There is a sandy beach area on the pond. It is a pond so expect to see tadpoles in the swimming area! Again, not a big deal as they swim away as soon as anyone comes near. But the swimming area has been cleaned up, it is not murky until you get farther out. For most adults this is fine since we tend not to do more than dip our feet in or splash ourselves with some water on a hot day. The kids dont seem to mind the murk or the tadpoles, they were happy to try to catch them all day! There is also a dog pond, which our black lab/australian shep mix LOVED! It was nice to be able to bring her somewhere to swim as she loves the water and is not allowed at the beach. The showers were FREE and VERY CLEAN! Very clean, I was amazed! Not a single bug in the shower with me! There were two stalls in operation, one out of order, but still I was never left waiting long for a shower to open. I think a lot of the sites are seasonal and many were campers with showers in them so that left short lines in the bathroom for a shower. There were plenty of mirrors and outlets for my hair dryer too. There is a large pavillion with a stage, maybe in the future there will be dances and DJ's and who knows what else! Its in really good condition with lots of picnic tables around. There is also a park for the kids and plenty of campground owned toys for them to play with. There are also canoe rentals for a very reasonable price, although I forget the prices already. There is an arcade in a giant old barn and if you look on the brochure map, it promises mini golf. We did not see a mini golf area but I'm sure in the future this will be up and running. Like I said, there are a few things to be done but this place will be great once they're finished. So on our trip, we found it to be quiet with very respectful campers around us. It was not over-crowded with people, like so many places we've been to. The crowds take away the relaxation piece of camping...We go camping in the woods to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Well, what's the point of going camping if you're going to a place overrun with hustle and bustle?! This place has relaxing DOWN. It was lazy and peaceful and I really enjoyed it. I gave it only three stars because of the kinks that need to be ironed out but I cant stress enough that this place is great! Give them some time and it'll be perfect! read more

I wish I could give this place a 2.5. The seasonal campers are very pleasant, their setups are nice and the overall place is very clean and quiet. The sites are large back in the E area, although without much shade. But there is ONE (one!!) bathroom in the entire campground, and it's a good solid quarter-mile away from the E area. Hello - most of us were tent campers, or popups without faciilities - you can't put campers that far away from a toilet. I realize it's set up for RVs in the long run, but even some RV'rs don't want to have to use their own facilities. It's a newer area, and you are obviously expanding - SUPPLY A PORT-A-POTTY unitl you have some other plans, especially for that price. If you are in an RV with a toilet, it's an ok place for kids - pond is small, not too much traffic, generally safe. read more

Has potential to be much nicer and maybe they will get there by next year. Bath house sinks are nice but showers were gross with built up dirt. They really need to add cement pads to the campground if they want big rigs. Place is just too dirty, even with being able to put a large mat down. They have wifi but it's only good for surfing the net and not for downloading or sending anything of any size. Pretty remote location too. Probably campers who enjoy a camping experience would be pretty happy but not our cup of tea. We were the only Class A on the property. read more

Bath House is perfectly serviceable; really appreciate having wifi, electric and water (especially since we camp in a tent - that's enough "roughing it" for me! Owners are pleasant and accommodating. Nice enough campground, not too busy and we have a decent site with a little privacy except....... It's almost ten pm and the seasonal camper next to us has a huge outdoor TV screen set up and is listening to his movie at movie theater sound levels. nobody to complain too! Nice place. Liz and Joe are very friendly folks who go the extra mile for you. I brought my new camper and had a few problems with it. They were more than happy to help me get things set up properly. We noticed that the pond is a big hit with the kids - especially the slippy slide. Lots of activities for the kids. I'm told they are planning to put in a pool, cabins, and other things. cozy pond is a very good name for this campground, because it's very relaxing , quite most of the time, the seasonal spots are very large & the owners are helpful, smiling, available & they put us first in comfort & etc.. Each year they improve it here it's a work in progress, since they've only bought a couple of years ago. People who start new businesses need time to make it the way they want it, if you stayed here before come back we did & we're so glad we did. there are so many places near by to visit & things to do , you won't get bored & neither will your children. to the owners we say thankx so much! read more
