Crystal and the team were incredible! The cabins was perfect and equipped with everything you need for a nice Glamping trip! The firewood and s'more's kit were a plus! First time glamping, and could not be happier. Bed comfy, enough kitchenware to get us through breakfast at the campground, and the S'mores packet they have is the best s'mores I've tasted! We are in the area while our kids are at a soccer camp in Wolfeboro (about 45 minutes north), and we're far enough away to get some great alone time, but close enough to find things within 30 minutes to do. Will be coming back next year, hopefully bringing some other couples as well. read more

Canceled my booking two days before check in due to unspecified maintenance issues. No alternative accommodation was offered even though this chain is fully owned by Marriott. Not even a complimentary points or free night offer as an apology. I've never had such a horrible experience, would not recommend anyone book here. For a nearly $300 a night Marriott property they should be doing a lot more. read more

I would give this place a billion stars if I could! I've been telling everyone I know about it. After looking forward to our trip for months, my husband and I went this past weekend for Valentine's Day and it was amazing. The check-in process was so smooth. I received an email with reminders, details, and a list of things to do the week before, as well as a reminder text that morning. A little before check-in, they sent me the name of our cabin, a map of the whole site, and a code to get in the door. Completely contactless, and you don't even have to go to a desk to check in. The check-out process was the same, with a reminder text that morning and you just press the lock button on the keypad. We stayed in the Shelby cabin, and were blown away from the moment we drove up and stepped inside. They had placed a balloon, candle, and rose petals on the bed with a note saying to enjoy the Valentine's weekend. Our cabin was uphill, with a creek out back. It was super snowy outside, which is exactly what we wanted for a cozy winter weekend. The windows all have shades that you can close, and they work like blackout curtains so you can still sleep well. These people have thought of everything! There was a deck of cards and some books, as well as a getaway guide with suggestions of things to do in the area and conversation starters. There was a box to place your cellphone to help you truly unplug and be present. The kitchen has all of the basics you could need for a simple meal. They also had coffee, hot chocolate, a s'mores kit, fire starters, and logs-all of which you could choose to use for a super cheap price and be charged later. So convenient and detailed. They even texted us the day of our departure with an option to have groceries delivered to our house so we wouldn't have to worry about stopping at the store. Literally every single detail was incredible from start to finish. We will DEFINITELY be exploring other getaway locations. We kept talking the whole time about how well-done everything was. Thank you for an incredible experience, getaway! Tips: I would recommend an SUV if you go in the winter. One of the roads in was a bit mushy with snow, but there is an alternate route if you need it. The cabin was easy to find and the check in process was simple. (They just sent a code) however, the cabin was over $400 a night, which was not worth it. It was not that clean and the fire pit area was cramped and covered in ants. Red ants crawling outside walls of the cabins. Ants inside.. they were everywhere. We brought coffee because they said they charged for coffee but we had no coffee maker to make it. We had about 2 minutes of hot water before it got ice cold. It was just extremely boring. There was nothing to do at all. We walked in the road and around the campground but besides that nothing else going on there. I wouldn't waste my money here again. Nope. read more

I had the best experience at this Getaway location! I was worried it would have been an "instagram scam" but it was the furthest from that. The room itself was extremely clean and smelled really good too lol. I would have believed it we were the first ones to stay in that cabin because it was that clean. My boyfriend and I found local hikes to do in the area and really took advantage of detaching from our phones and day to day stressors. We can't wait to come back! read more

We love Getaway. We have stayed with Getaway several times at different locations, and twice now at the Getaway Boston in New Hampshire, which is out favorite. The setting is beautiful and the cabins are perfect. A long mosey along the road brings you to farms and revolutionary period colonial farmhouses. The Blasty Bough Brewery is only a mile away, and is cozy and offers excellent beer. The owner is very friendly. The town forest which is right next to the property offers lots of nature, and a scenic walk to the brewery. Birds and deer and moose (we haven't seen one yet but they are supposed to be there) and enormous beaver ponds and dams. The entire experience is well executed, and achieves exactly what is intended. The service staff are wonderful. This is the place if you need a day or to to disconnect and reset and connect on a human level. read more

Alright, everything about this place screams, "wait is this the beginning of a criminal minds episode!?" However, our experience was excellent. We stayed in the Ovida cabin. It was small, but comfy and very utility focused. It has all the essentials and a regular "normal" flushing toilet and shower, which I think is a huge bonus for this kind of camping. I will say that the lofted bed wasn't perfect for me, I'm kind of a big dude and a little claustrophobic. I just slept on the mattress on the first level. Next time we will be certain to get a cabin with the bed on the lower level. This wasn't quite enough to dock a star. We even had a little hiccup and was charged for taking more firewood than we did, but they were super cool about it and fixed it right away. I wished we stayed a few more nights. The experience was like going to a family campground and staying in a cabin, except we didn't have to talk to anyone and glad-hand with strangers and have to deal with packs of little kids roaming and screaming in the early hours. It certainly isn't any kind of five star hotel with mints on the sheet and cashmere robes, but there was complimentary s'mores supplies, a box to hide our cell phones, and lots of space to relax in. We would go back as a way to just spend some quiet time away from our loud children and reset a bit. read more

Just returned from our second trip here. Shorter but arguably better than the last perhaps. Overall rating over two trips by now is reflected in this review. My boyfriend and I LOVE it here. We love the woods, we love the outdoors, we love to camp. But we are also incredibly busy and usually only have the time for one major camping trip per year. The major pain being the setup of gear. We are also people who value a good nights sleep, our share of privacy, and the option to do as we please. Luckily for us, Getaway offers all of this :-) Like to cook? You're covered. Electric cooktop. Fire grates, or bring your propane grill for meats like we do. The house comes with a full set of cookware for the vast majority of what you need. I love to cook, so we go a little fancy with it. Be warned though, probably bring a cooler for drinks if you stay a few days. There is a fridge in the house but it's very small. Organize it well! The house part is as advertised. Tiny. Pack accordingly, and use what's there as much as you can. It's small, but it's lovely. Plenty of privacy from cabin to cabin. You can see other houses, but there's enough tree coverage. Staff told us this weekend they were expanding to 40 something houses up here!!! Pros of Getaway: - Like camping without the main set up of gear - Plenty of privacy - each house area also has 2-4 chairs, picnic table, fire pit) - Comfy beds - Showers in each house! - GREAT window shades for all windows & excellent views. - Plenty of woods and space to wander and explore Cons of Getaway: - The electric toilet personally intimidates me. I know that sounds strange but doing your business in a water-less toilet that is kind of metallic and robotic-like is just weird. Having someone come to change your toilet bag is weird too. I can deal with it and staff is always pleasant, but it's worth noting for first timers. :-) you do get used to it, but be warned! - From walking around the area, houses could be a gamble with privacy. We've been lucky so far with ours (stayed in Ethel and Bev so far), but others seem closer together. - Can be pricey! For bringing all your own food (or paying for theirs), it rivals a luxury hotel in the area. Sign up for their email list, they do have some sale periods they alert you of. - We easily set off our fire alarm making bacon in our house, lol. Not a con persay but it probably scared everyone around us too. The pros do obviously outweigh the cons for me - I wish I could rate 4.5 stars, but I'm going with 4 here. This is not detrimental to Getaway at all, we adore it. I just honestly wish it was more affordable to visit often. It is so convenient and relaxing and we'd have date weekends here several times a year if a weekend didn't cost almost $400 to book + cost of 4ish meals/drinks/snacks. I love the cooking on your own part so that doesn't bother me, cause it's awesome making tacos at 2am if you want to. Overall, we love it. Highly recommend. We even cheat & bring a laptop to watch movies with at night. However you want to do your Getaway, you can pretty much do it and give this place a try. read more

Not all cabins are created equal. Some are isolated and face the woods. We essentially shared a fire pit with our neighbors and were at the beginning of the cul de sac. It's the luck of the draw and very frustrating to get screwed. Would have gladly paid more for seclusion. Also, be prepared to climb around to pee. read more

I would not book a stay with getaway house. I purchased a cabin pack on their website that I was unable to use. I was given the message when trying to check out that my credits were invalid. When I reached out for the company to correct this, they just told me the package is non-refundable. Now I am out 300 dollars with no way to book a cabin. Located in Epsom off the beaten path. It's a space to put away phones and enjoy nature. I would recommend going in Fall as the summer is pretty sweaty and buggy. This spot would be so perfect if it was near water -especially for the pup. Either way the cabin was stocked with everything we could need to start a fire and eat dinner. There's even a speaker for your phone. The bed was comfy and they have special touches for those traveling with pets -water bowls, long leash, treats. I stayed here for 2 nights this week with my family of 4. We rented the 2 bedroom units. For all that are hooked into the "Tiny House" craze, this is a perfect getaway (All puns intended!). The cabin has everything you need to relax and "be one with nature". Before you arrive, they text you the code to open the electronic lock, so no need to stop at a "check-in desk". Our unit had 2 queen beds (with all necessary linen/blankets), a small kitchenette with 2 burners and coffee pot, sink, mini-fridge, and all the plates/cups/silverware that you may need. In addition, they stock the cabin with sundries that you can purchase (automatically charged to your CC after checkout). These included tea/coffee/hot chocolate, beef jerky, oatmeal, pasta/sauce, cookies, etc.. They also provide wood and kindling at a cost. We brought our own food and wood, so we only got a couple of packets of hot chocolate. There is small table in the cabin, that can fit 4 people. The very small bathroom has a flushing toilet and a shower. The only major design flaw is that the door to the bathroom swings into the bathroom, which means you need to straddle the toilet in order to close the door. The cabin has heating and A/C. The whole back side of the cabin (next to the beds) is one big window facing into nature. They did a great job of placing the cabins so you don't have neighbor facing your nature view! Outside, you have your own wilderness oasis with a fire ring with adjustable cooking grate, 2 adirondack chairs, and a picnic table. Cooking our meals over the open fire was great! We cooked mixed veggies, marinated turkey tips and turkey burgers on one night and salmon fillets and mashed potatoes on the next. The kitchen comes with all the tools you need (lighter, cutting knife, bottle opener/corkscrew, etc.) as well as some complimentary cooking necessities such as salt, pepper and olive oil. Rolls of paper towels were included. The grounds were quiet and comfortable. Not much else to do on the grounds (was hoping for some hiking trails), but we spent part of our full day exploring the antique stores on Rt. 202 (known as "Antique Alley"). We will definitely be returning again! Highly recommended! read more

Absolute trash. Complete rudeness by the staff in all regards. For example my group was playing country music at a modest noise level in the middle of the day, 4 o'clock not close to quiet hours. I even went over to the neighbors before to ask if it was okay. An hour later a lady drives up and says I've gotten multiple complaints your music is too loud, we don't allow any outside music at all and drove off. For over 200 dollars a night and I can't enjoy my vacay with a little music and then you wanna be rude about it. Would never recommend this place to anyone who wants to actually relax. I had a decent time here, but there's some information I really wish I'd known before going: 1. The cabins, while in the woods, are not what I would consider 'private'. The setup was a bunch of looping roads in the woods with cabins dotted along the outside and inside perimeter - if you're in the inside of those loops, you can basically see all the cars going by and people walking their dogs and maybe into other people's bedrooms, and vice versa. The marketing photos make it look like you're in the deep wilderness where it's just you and your cabin but - nope. There's shades on the windows, but then you just feel like you're in a tiny box. 2. They talk about coffee but there's no coffee filters or coffee makers in the cabin, so plan to bring your own. The coffee they sell comes with disposable liners, which is how they get away with it. 3. The Getaway team is specific in multiple places that they don't accept tips, which really ticked me off - how much are you paying the people that clean these cabins that they wouldn't like tips? I left a tip and apparently there's 'no policy' against staff accepting tips despite all this verbiage. 4. The books included in the cabin are really trite and read more like a clickbait article than an actually interesting read. 5. You're in the middle of rural New Hampshire. Do you like hiking in the woods? I hope you like hiking in the woods, because that's all there really is to do. The nearby town of Concord is quite nice, and there's your usual big-box stores just down the road, but it's very rural. Expect a lot of Trump signs as you drive in, which personally I found very unwelcoming. Also not a lot of mask-wearing when I was hiking in the aforementioned woods, although people were decent about masks in the towns. 6. Despite the above point, your cabin actually has pretty great cell service, which can be quite useful for figuring out where you want to go (despite all the marketing BS about 'ooh leave your cell phone behind go talk to the trees" etc etc). Great for adults, but if you're dragging a bunch of teenagers out with the hopes they can't get cell service, that's not going to work so well. 7. I stayed in a "4-person cabin" which was small for 1 person. I don't know how people manage 4 in this place unless 2 of them are children under the age of 10 or so. Or maybe you're in a poly relationship and you want to get it on in front of the giant windows pointed at the dirt road and other cabins, I don't know your life. The real sticking point for me was the lack of storage space. If you're staying for a night and all you're bringing is like a toothbrush, some food, pjs, and clothes for the next day, it's doable, but even supplies for a 3-night stay were difficult to organize. Ended up putting most of my stuff on the floor by the kitchen, which wasn't great and detracted from the whole 'minimalist' schtick they're going for. Ultimately, it's a small cabin w/ heat and hot water and a kitchen in a rural area of New Hampshire which happens to be near some decent hiking. Which can be quite nice. I found the 'minimalist hipster vibe' of the whole thing really off-putting though - there are plenty of cabins in the woods in the world and the whole 'cellphone lockbox' and 'read our little books about minimalism' really annoyed me. Still, if you're looking for a place to stay in today's COVID-19 world this may be a good option. read more

The location of the houses was great, it was clean and they thought of almost everything! For the most part my wife & I had a fabulous weekend! It was beautiful, peaceful & very quiet. There were a few things that prevented us from giving it 5 stars though. They say they provide everything you need (some things for sale & some complimentary), but there were a few important things missing, mostly for cooking at the outside grill. They didn't have any mitts or anything, so it was impossible to raise or lower the grill, there weren't any fire pokers or things to use to adjust the wood that was burning (and we couldn't find any big sticks) and there were no cooking utensils for the grill - no spatula, tongs or big fork & no serving spoons. There were 2 wooden utensils for indoor cooking but they were definitely not appropriate for outdoor use, and not really for cooking indoors either. I wouldn't have minded as much if they had advertised that they didn't supply these things. Then we would have known to bring them, but we never saw anything about that stuff, so we didn't even think of it. Another thing to be aware of is that physically it may be challenging to get around in the cabin. You have to climb up & down some big steps to get from the bathroom to the bed and the bed was really uncomfortable, very hard with no 'give'. Perhaps if you're not middle-aged with aches & pains all over it wouldn't be hard, but we found it challenging just to maneuver the big steps & small places. We're not sure if we'd do it again because of the physical challenges for us, but we are so glad we tried it once & it has inspired us to think about trying to find a place in the woods that's more of a traditional cabin for next time. read more

From our units front steps we had an almost impossibly comparably stunning view of three more additional 'getaways'. This was my second time staying at a getaway here. The first time, the main problem we had was that the cabin smelled like someone smoked cigarettes and the smell persisted our stay there. All they had to help w the smell was a spray bottle (not mister) of some cleaning agent (that didn't particularly help). The second time, I was disappointed to find that I was in one of the 6 houses in the center of a roundabout, and with the angle the houses were placed, I didn't get the view that getaway advertises, and the beautiful large window I had faced the road and another house, instead of the woods. Walking around, I saw that several houses were significantly more secluded than mine was, and I really wish the homes were more evenly and fairly spaced. I did buy a package, so I'll be back, but for what they're selling, spacing of the homes really needs to be improved. read more

This company was great from the start with advice on what to pack, directions, and they even texted us the night of our arrival that there was a storm in the area and to be safe. The cabin was spotless, and they even left us a handwritten note welcoming us! Every cabin has their own secluded area with a fire pit, and is equipped with books, cards, and a radio to keep you entertained while you relax in nature. All right... So my Wife and I love to camp, and we love to unwind in the woods... BUT.. we are not as young as we once were.. Sleeping on the ground hurts... I probably can't outrun a bear anymore...so we've caught onto this trendy thing going around called "Glamping."..now.. if that phrase has gone by the wayside.. I apologize.. we're not savvy folks.. So what better an opportunity to check out the whole tiny house thing.. and "Glamp".... Then coming here to Getaway.... Now real quick, we live about 25 minutes from here in New Hampshire... so we're not at all city dwellers, and I am sure that for those of you that are surrounded by skyscrapers, volumes of traffic, and other assorted noise that this is indeed "in the sticks" quiet, relaxing etc. When we pulled into the entrance off the main road we were immediately enveloped in trees, the road was just wider than my pick up truck.. It was really cool. Our camp first one on the left. We pulled in unloaded, checked the place out. The tiny house was clean, cute, and exactly what we had hoped it would be based on the pictures we had looked at on line. Our site was clean, a really nice set up, so we unloaded our gear, set up the propane grills, and then I noticed the fire pit was completely packed full of ashes and dirt, level with the top. So I texted the contact, and within 10 minutes a great guy came out shoveled out the pit, we gave him a tip, and thanked the mysterious contact on the text line, and all was well. That was Friday. Saturday we had neighbors come in on the other side of the campsite next to ours...Please note the sites are not very close together. It was a family of four and two of those four.... were kids.... who used their outside at a Metallica concert voices ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT... Now I am a firm believer in quality family time, and maybe I'm not cool for saying that there are plenty of great kid family camping areas in New Hampshire... and Getaway I feel if I was a kid would be BORING... oh they were bored, and they hollered all day and all night about it. Oh! They had a dog too, I know because it came over to our site and started barking at me. Sunday Morning. The water pressure dropped significantly... I was told that we have an unlimited supply of water here. I was told that someone would come out and look at the lines. We went out. The water pressure was still not what it was on Friday all day Sunday, and we just figured we were leaving on Monday anyway, so they can sort that out for themselves. Now, I do have to say, that if you plan on spending time outside the tiny house and you want quiet, ask when you book to be placed far away from the road. There are a couple farms nearby, and they do run their equipment up and down the roads, their 4 wheelers, and side by sides as well. Sunday afternoon from about 1:00 to 5:30 a farmer was parked and running his tractors engine at a high idle, we were on the verge of leaving, when I texted the contact, and asked if they knew the neighbors, and if they could find out when they planned on shutting off the tractor. I don't know if they sent someone to talk to him, but I sent the text at 4:40 and the farmer drove off around 5:30. So that's my review. It's a great place, the customer service was great, we just had a couple of experiences that bummed us out, and we hope the next time we come we can actually getaway. read more

Wonderful location and pretty secluded, however, the inside is actually pretty "outdated" - wood furnitures are scratched and looks old, not something I would expect from a stay that costs $200+ per night. It also smells musty - which is keeping me up at night because the smell is so prominent. I tried to air it out but didn't help much.. Overall, I love the concept but the small details of getaway really shows that it's not very well kept. I will not return again. read more
