    1st season jan 25, 2025

Instructor just a title- zero instruction I took a class for adults first season snowboarding on Saturdays: 10am-12pm Projected Dates: 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25 with two classmates. The instructor was a young lady who just told us to go up the lift and slice downhill. She did not correct any mistakes or show something new. My friend and I learned from YouTube and TikTok practiced together. On the final day, she gave us incorrect grade levels 7-8, highest!? We were wasting time on one season. I came back to the second session. I got lucky to play with young guy TY- great instructor with two new classmates. He taught us professional as required on the book level 7 to level 8 and somethings we wanted more advance. On the last day TY got an exam, he could not finish with us. Again, the same young lady replaced. The same way, she did not know how to find out our mistake and needed a guy following us four times. One classmate was upset and quit the class after one hour, he said: "She didn't know everything!" After that one guy hurt, she was around with him and one more time uphill and gave us grade level. What do you guess? I got level 6 and another guy level 4 -Surprise, backward result after we worked hard a month! With me, it did not big deal with level number, but I let you know: McIntyre have a problem quality instructor "just a title- zero instruction".

The Hill Bar & Grille: My wife heard @ this place on Facebook so we decided to check it out with some friends, had a such a good time we went the following nite also....Hint Hint. The place is in its infancy with 2021 plans to add a 2nd level, side pub area addition and a wrap around elevated deck. Pros: 1. Awesome scenery of the ski slope and night sky. 2. Solid pub food menu with nightly specials. 3. Good selection of draft and bottle beers. 4. Full bar. 6. Comfy Adirondack chairs to lounge in. 7. Plenty of lawn games such as corn hole, can-jam & horseshoes to play. 8. Great place to hang with friends. 9. Live music. 10. Very large fire pit for late night enjoyment. 11. Plenty of parking (free). Constructive Criticism: 1. Occasional short pour on wine, martinis & mixed drinks. Consistency matters. 2. Nachos could have a wee bit more fixings on them and more salsa would be good also. Bottom line: I give this place 3-1/2 stars and see it knocking on the door of +4 stars in 2021. We will be frequenting this establishment & right now I consider it a gem in the rough. I totally recommend this place for a very enjoyable & different experience.

This is the perfect place to spent a chill day in the winter with friends and family! Came here with a large group of about 15 people and we were able to get group discounts on our 2 hours of snow tubing tickets. After you buy your tickets, they make you fill out a waiver. Afterwards is a large lounge area with lots of tables and a small dining area, but we didn't get any food here because the menu looked pretty sad and limited. For the snow tubing experience, you first have to go to a large container that contains the snow tubes and then you go up this outdoor escalator like thing up the hill and then you slide down when an instructor tells you to. They have seven lanes, which the leftmost one being the most popular because it was the fastest and as you went more to the right the less crowded but slower. This was a very fun group experience because we were able to make groups up to four and tie our tubes together and slide down as a group. Also, I like that they're alcohol friendly here and had a tiki bar that serves some mixed drinks and beer.

Enjoy this place very much. Saturdays they have a special where you can try skiing, snowboarding and tubbing for about 41$ good atmosphere descent drinks.

We had a great skiing season this year at McIntyre Ski Area. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I went on early mornings on weekends. It was crowded but lines were moving quickly. Food cost is reasonably priced compared to other ski resorts. The food was good and well-prepared. It is a self-served restaurant. The bathrooms were clean for the most part. We never had difficulty in finding parking. My son completed his skiing program. His instructors were kind and very patient with teaching little ones. They really taught him how to ski. We are very impressed with his confidence and his new skiing abilities. He really learned so much. We are looking forward to continue on for more advanced lessons in the future.

As we were visiting in July, I got tickets to do the mountain coaster and it was great. Getting there was easy and there are large signs along the way to help guide you there easily. Once arrived at the huge parking lot, we locked the car and went to the ticket office where the super friendly young lady checked us in and let us know where to go. The coaster is clearly marked and when we got there, the line was very small. We had a timed ticket so we had unlimited rides for two hours. We rode the coaster a total of three times (took just over 30 minutes total) and that was plenty. It was a lot of fun and it's a thrill going through the trees so quickly...even the ride up is fun and scenic. There are a lot of staff helping on-board and off-board riders and they were all very friendly and helpful. The ride is safe for all ages and we saw little kids riding with their parents, youngsters riding alone (if they met the height requirement) and even grandparents riding it. It was a lot of fun...thrilling but not too scary. Just a reminder...you need to wear closed toe shows. Flip-flops and Crocs won't due it so bring some sneakers. There was a craft show going on while we where there so we walked around and spent some money on local food. That was nice. We also saw people on the zip lines and they all seemed to be having a blast. If we come back, I will definitely sign up for that. This was just a fun time at a nice place with friendly staff. The place feels so laid back (although safety is paramount so I don't want it to seem that wasn't taken seriously). If you come here, I think you'll be like me and leave with two things: 1) a smile on your face; and 2) a desire to come back soon.

During the day, families can enjoy a good active day among the variety of trails and glades. The mountain features 1,016 vertical feet with a high-speed quad, a fixed grip quad, a triple chair, a double chair, and a magic carpet. Crotched has 100 acres of ski terrain, and 25 runs, the longest of which is 1.2 miles. For a small area, it is quite versatile in its terrain, having a well-maintained terrain park among other features. All terrain is covered by an advanced snowmaking system. All the facilities are contained in one building, so keeping track of kids isn't hard to do. The resort is also regionally popular as one of the best night skiing locations in the state. Most runs and lifts have a space or astrological theme. Comet Drop, Supernova, Lift Off, Meteor, Galaxy, The Rocket, Comet, and Shooting Star are but a few of the names at the mountain. The main lodge is the basic building at Crotched. It is a huge building resembling an aircraft hangar and about the size of one. Within it, every conceivable customer service and resort management activity takes place. For beginners, two areas with lifts on each side of the mountain provide a smoother beginning. On the West side, the West Lift, a fixed double, takes the boarder/skier up to several, very scenic, green runs such as Supernova and ReEntry, as well as a beautifully maintained glade, Final Frontier. On the East side of the resort, the Valley lift, a fixed quad, leads to the terrain park, and several blue and green runs. Although small, Crotched Mountain is very well-designed and offers family amenities and comforts that would be found in larger places. Its grooming and snowmaking systems vastly outrank those of many other New England resorts, even several Vail Resorts. For a leisurely-paced place, it merits a visit.

Once you scan the lift ticket, it's active for 4 hours which is plenty of time to get some skiing in. If you're new to this and want to get good, plan on taking more than one lesson. Not sure if it helps but I'll share my progression over one full day of skiing: It'd been 20 years since I skied, so I joined the morning lesson with the first timers and could ski down the bunny slopes comfortably by the end. I took another lesson the same day and was skiing down the green trails without any issues, although not the most efficiently (skis mostly but not always parallel). The facilities were clean and with everything you might need, hot food, drinks, a store, bonfires, wifi, a decent amount of locker space, and a very large area for rentals. It felt very safe, and everyone I interacted with was friendly. Parking wasn't an issue either. Overall, I enjoyed the lessons and my experience skiing at Wachusett, and I'd definitely go again!

Signing up was easy and I scooted off to wait for my session. Although I was put into an adult group, no adults showed up for beginner lessons and I teamed up with a really cool 6-year-old girl. So my Yelp tip here is to bring a friend if you're uncomfortable learning alongside the tykes. My instructor, Larry, was great and gave equal attention to both me and the nugget. He showed us the basics and was very supportive of our trial and error. I felt it was a great base foundation.
