came back for our annual tubing trip, this may be our last. We decided to try and do the night tubing (6-8), worst decision. The one of the young guys working were sliding down with every person in one of the lanes. There was no organization. The lines were literally to the tree lines. There were multiple accidents. They had no walkies up at the top. They couldn't keep order of the rowdy patrons. Lanes were being closed down, and no organization was kept then either. That said, we got to tube down like 3-4 times in two hours. For the price is absolutely was not worth it. It was a bad experience. read more

We have been tubing at McIntyre Ski Area for over 4 years. We go in a large group of family and friends (+/- 30 people). We had a bad experience last year in 2025 with severe overcrowding and a worker being physically and verbally aggressive with teenage members of our party, as well as swearing in front of six year olds. The company responded and gave us passes to come back this year. We went last night, 2/14/26. This was by far our worst experience. By the time we got there for our allotted time, 6-8pm, the hill was overcrowded. There was no tube left for my husband, so he sat out. When you got to the top of the hill, the lines were all the way back to the tree line. It was difficult to navigate to get in line. My brother timed a full cycle of getting in line to getting to the bottom of the hill, and it was 35 minutes, so you could get 3 slides if you were lucky. The rules were inconsistent with the workers. There were only 2 workers that I could see. They let a couple people ride tied together, and others were not allowed to. The hill was over- iced. Due to there not being a worker at the bottom, a grandmother and granddaughter were run over by a tuber, leading to a head and face injury. At one point they closed the last 3 lanes. Kids and adults came flying down, 6 at a time in each lane. No care or concern for safety. My son was stuck at the top while kids and adults cut in front of him to go down. This place has plummeted downhill. This used to be an amazing, family friendly, SAFE tubing experience. Based on the last two years here, I would never recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

The amount of money they're charging, especially for this area is just too darn high. It's really a place designed for kids from 6 to 16. Adults looking for a proper ski resort. I had a very concerning experience Saturday, 2/14/26, at McIntyre Ski Area again! My family and I have gone there for the past four years. My family group is 30+ people ages ranging from 10 up. Last year we had an incident with a worker swearing at our little kids. That resulted in McIntyre covering the tickets for us this year. Unfortunately, there were only three staff members working the tubing area when we first got there. Then there was only two young kids at the top of the hill sending tubers down. They did not appear to have proper walkie-talkie communication between the top and bottom on the hill. At one point an older man was screaming up the hill to inform the 2 workers at the top not to send doubles down, single riders only, even if it was a parent and younger child. Which they did not stop the double riders! The lack of coordination and staffing created what felt like a very unsafe environment. The area was extremely overcrowded, with very little control over the flow of tubers. While we were there, I witnessed a grandmother and grandchild get hit by another tuber. Both were injured. It was upsetting to see, and it felt like the situation could have been prevented with better supervision and organization. For the price they charge for a 2 hour session, I expected a much safer and better-managed experience. I hope management takes a serious look at staffing levels, crowd control, crowd limits, and communication procedures to prevent future injuries. read more

Instructor just a title- zero instruction I took a class for adults first season snowboarding on Saturdays: 10am-12pm Projected Dates: 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25 with two classmates. The instructor was a young lady who just told us to go up the lift and slice downhill. She did not correct any mistakes or show something new. My friend and I learned from YouTube and TikTok practiced together. On the final day, she gave us incorrect grade levels 7-8, highest!? We were wasting time on one season. I came back to the second session. I got lucky to play with young guy TY- great instructor with two new classmates. He taught us professional as required on the book level 7 to level 8 and somethings we wanted more advance. On the last day TY got an exam, he could not finish with us. Again, the same young lady replaced. The same way, she did not know how to find out our mistake and needed a guy following us four times. One classmate was upset and quit the class after one hour, he said: "She didn't know everything!" After that one guy hurt, she was around with him and one more time uphill and gave us grade level. What do you guess? I got level 6 and another guy level 4 -Surprise, backward result after we worked hard a month! With me, it did not big deal with level number, but I let you know: McIntyre have a problem quality instructor "just a title- zero instruction". read more

Customer service horribly. My 7 year old child take ski lesson there yearly. She and her older brother went tubing for the first time. She dropped her tubing pass on top of the tubing mountain( it was unsecured). The staff at top told her go back to get another one(after they let her go). When I explained the situation to the staff at the front desk/manager they accused me of giving the pass to someone else. Yes, that was my plan give her pass to some random person so my child could not go tubing with her older brother! read more

The Hill Bar & Grille: My wife heard @ this place on Facebook so we decided to check it out with some friends, had a such a good time we went the following nite also....Hint Hint. The place is in its infancy with 2021 plans to add a 2nd level, side pub area addition and a wrap around elevated deck. Pros: 1. Awesome scenery of the ski slope and night sky. 2. Solid pub food menu with nightly specials. 3. Good selection of draft and bottle beers. 4. Full bar. 6. Comfy Adirondack chairs to lounge in. 7. Plenty of lawn games such as corn hole, can-jam & horseshoes to play. 8. Great place to hang with friends. 9. Live music. 10. Very large fire pit for late night enjoyment. 11. Plenty of parking (free). Constructive Criticism: 1. Occasional short pour on wine, martinis & mixed drinks. Consistency matters. 2. Nachos could have a wee bit more fixings on them and more salsa would be good also. Bottom line: I give this place 3-1/2 stars and see it knocking on the door of +4 stars in 2021. Have a $100 ski pass credit I wasn't able to use this 2024 season due to illness/schedules/weather/life, ect.....this company refuses to produce this amount into a credit towards their own company to next season or any type of gift card for skiing next year/a ski lesson ect. Terribly rude customer service. Every single ski place in the area provides a credit towards next season if you don't use up your tickets, it's not rocket science, it goes back into the business. So now in this insane economy we're in, I'm completely out the $100 because I wasn't able to ever use the tickets! Yes thank you for an early spring but that didn't help trying to achieve this either weather wise. I would love for one of the higher ups or owners to reach out to me as I don't plan to drop this. As others have said I can't imagine going anywhere else to learn to ski. 45 minutes from Boston means you can take your kid multiple times and get enough reps to learn. Who wants to drive 3 hours to Killington and pay 150 for a lift ticket if your kid can barely turn? Coming here was my best idea of the winter, instructors were great. read more

This mountain is very small and not a variety of trails at all. However, if you are a beginner this mountain is perfect. There are many green trails with a couple of blues so it is very easy for the new skiers. They have a very small terrain park for beginners as well. This is the best place to learn to ski in New England. It's small, but the hills are perfect for children trying to learn. And everyone is a beginner, so there's no shame in trying. They do an incredible job of making snow. For a small place, it's really really clean, and over-staffed too. I do have some suggestions - the lift chair seats are too high for kids (parents need to lift them up) and there's no beer, but it's an incredible place to take the kids to learn. If you're hitting the slopes for the first time or trying to teach your children, start here. read more

This is the perfect place to spent a chill day in the winter with friends and family! Came here with a large group of about 15 people and we were able to get group discounts on our 2 hours of snow tubing tickets. After you buy your tickets, they make you fill out a waiver. Afterwards is a large lounge area with lots of tables and a small dining area, but we didn't get any food here because the menu looked pretty sad and limited. For the snow tubing experience, you first have to go to a large container that contains the snow tubes and then you go up this outdoor escalator like thing up the hill and then you slide down when an instructor tells you to. They have seven lanes, which the leftmost one being the most popular because it was the fastest and as you went more to the right the less crowded but slower. This was a very fun group experience because we were able to make groups up to four and tie our tubes together and slide down as a group. Also, I like that they're alcohol friendly here and had a tiki bar that serves some mixed drinks and beer. read more

We had a great skiing season this year at McIntyre Ski Area. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I went on early mornings on weekends. It was crowded but lines were moving quickly. Food cost is reasonably priced compared to other ski resorts. The food was good and well-prepared. It is a self-served restaurant. The bathrooms were clean for the most part. We never had difficulty in finding parking. My son completed his skiing program. His instructors were kind and very patient with teaching little ones. They really taught him how to ski. We are very impressed with his confidence and his new skiing abilities. He really learned so much. We are looking forward to continue on for more advanced lessons in the future. read more

Beware of snow tubing here. My wife and I were here two weeks ago. Our snow tubes avoided the mats to slow us down towards the bottom and we veered towards the left of our lane and my wife's tube went over the side retaining wall. She was thrown out of her tube at suffered a broken arm, bruised ribs and concussion. The set up of the lanes is obviously not correct for this to be even a possible outcome. This is a great beginner mountain. It wasn't crowded (most people probably go north) and it was a great place to spend the day with the kids. We had a great time. This time we just went tubing because we were with some guests who had never seen snow before. They said it was the highlight of their trip. read more

I'm just disappointed with the situation we encountered and how it was handled. If you have to close down the mountain during an allotted time previously paid for due to weather/skiing conditions, you should offer vouchers for the amount of money spent, regardless of season (allowing customers to pay the difference if necessary). Schedules don't always align within a few weeks (something any busy adult could attest to) and skiing is not a luxury that all of us can afford. Having the lift ticket and ski rental money non-refundable on a nice day is somewhat understandable, but when the mountain's schedule is changed when you had planned out a specific time, there needs to be more leniency regarding how to make it work. I also have to say I'm not super impressed with the email response's impolite and curt tone when we tried to address the situation, which really is what prompted me to write this. I hate to be negative to a local business like this. I'm just pretty bummed out by the whole situation / experience. read more

We had a ton of fun snow tubing here the other week. They only sell a limited number of tubing tickets for each session so the mountain won't get too crowded. The whole process is very organized, and employees remain attentive. My big piece of advice is to get there early to make sure you get a ticket in time! Show up 30 min in advance to sign a waiver, then get in line to buy a ticket. If you show up early enough, you're in for great fun! read more

McIntyre is much more than a ski area! We held our recent HS reunion at McIntyre and could not have been more pleased- from planning to the big event Kara and crew were tremendous . The food was great and plentiful . The lodge itself is transformed into a lovely and spacious venue . There's an outdoor fire pit which was a big hit. Was very much looking forward to the options of green and blue trails and was extremely disappointed when I showed up and there was only two very small HILLS open. Seemed like a fun place for families or children, but definitely not for skiers trying to enjoy their day. Stayed an hour and left very disappointed. My kids learned to ski at McIntyre so we are quite nostalgic about this place. They are now very good skiers so want to go to the bigger mountains but periodically, we return to McIntyre since it is close and very reasonably priced especially when we take their friends who are learning and don't want to pay a fortune for a beginner. They recently built a brand new chalet and the season opens in a few weeks. There are rentals which is great if your kids have skis and they want to try snowboarding. We've had both ski and snowboarding lessons and the instructors are attentive, kind and patient. There is also tubing and starting in the Spring, ziplines. We're there! Best of all , they have a leasing program for kids who are still growing so we've leased skis for the last 4 years ($99 for the season for used!) which includes skis, poles, boots. What a deal. You can also lease the latest brand new equipment as well which we did this year as the kids are much better skiers. The snow sports swap happened in October and we walked away with great deals - snowboards, boots, bindings. They also had skates, skis, helmets, etc. I strongly recommend trading or buying at this annual event. Only reason it is not 5 stars is because the mountain is a small one (and most people want to ski big mountains) but that is really part of the charm, I think. read more

I have updated my review! Very disappointing! I was rudely told not to ride the magic carpet ride without equipment and had to have equipment on to be on the mountain. I was teaching my 5 year old how to snowboard and wanted to keep him with in arms reach. When I questioned "why" I was told it was the rules. The Operations Manager walked up the slope to add to the barrage of rudeness. I was able to ride the carpet at both Loon and Crotchet with friendly, helpful and a happy staff! When purchasing the tickets, the girl working sales was also rude, telling me the website price and time was not correct and the price was higher. The two slopes that were open during the day were OK, at bit Icy. They cater to after school programs, opening the second lift and the other 2 trails. The magic carpet at Loon for 5 and under is free, at Crochet it is $10 and this Mtn $14. 3/9/12 Update After corresponding with Ross the manager, he was apologetic and offered us a complimentary return visit. I was in the area and took him up on the offer, however I left my 5 year old home so need for the carpet ride. Everyone was friendly this time around! Thank You Ross for handling this situation in a professional manner. BTW, there were parents on the slopes at the carpet without equipment, I do believe as a parent teaching a young one it is difficult to teach with equipment on. read more

I had a situation with my son this past weekend that could have ended with a very bad taste in my mouth. I do not want to get into specifics, but what I do want to say is that the situation that presented itself was seen to in the most caring, compassionate, and kind way I can speak to. A situation that was poorly executed (by other patrons, not McIntyre) caused a very upsetting few moments for myself and my son. The staff of McIntyre jumped to action, pulling myself and my crying son aside, and making the situation right to the tune of myself crying from my disbelief of the kindness being shown to us. I brought my three-year old son to McIntyre today to ride the magic carpet and practice his ski skills. I have done the same at Pats Peak and Crotched Mountain, and have been encouraged to walk up alongside him while he rides the magic carpet. Today, at McIntyre, I was approached by an employee/ski instructor, asking if my son was taking a lesson. When I replied that he was not, but just practicing with me, she asked if I had purchased a ticket. I pointed to the pass that he had hanging on his zipper (which cost $19.00). She asked where mine was, in such a way that insinuated that I had not paid. I took a sticker out of my pocket and asked, "Is this it?" She said yes and rudely told me that she wouldn't ask me again. (I had not been here before and thought only he needed to wear the pass since he was riding the magic carpet.) We did one run and were getting off the magic carpet again when a different ski instructor rudely told me, "You need to get out of the way." I was in the middle of helping my son to get off the magic carpet, and we were shuffling over towards the side, where we were going to decide which path he would take down. There was no one behind him and there was plenty of room for people to get around, IF there had been people there. Finally, my son wanted to ski down the slightly larger ski hill (the other magic carpet). I figured since folks were so particular here, that I should ask in case I was not allowed to walk up alongside it, etc. I asked a person who worked there and he said that was fine. We got to the top. A nice young worker (running the carpet)offered to help my son get off. We let her, and started down the hill. I was running while keeping an eye on my son and watching for folks in our path. At the bottom, another employee told us, "Ma'am, if you're going to be doing that, you need to do it over there." He pointed to the smaller magic carpet. By that point, my son was only wanting the bigger hill (and so was I after the rudeness we encountered on the smaller hill), so we went inside to get our things. While gathering our stuff, I saw lots of kids my son's age with their parents running alongside them on the same hill we just came in from, and no one was giving them a hard time. I guess there is a reason why I've never taken my son here, when we live 2 minutes away. What began as a fun day outside practicing skiing, ended with a bitter taste in my mouth. Now I understand that there are rules and regulations for safety and for keeping things running smoothly. I also understand that when people are new to an establishment, they appreciate FRIENDLY people who help show them the ropes. I also know that all guests deserve the same friendly respect. I will not ever pay $19.00 again to be treated like I was today. Thankfully, my son was too young to let it spoil his time, but it certainly spoiled mine. read more

Staff ignored my 2 daughters who needed some assistance, but did their best to make sure I couldn't help them. I noticed my girls were struggling to pull themselves uphill using their poles (they hadn't learned to walk up slope in skis) the staff were monopolizing the area directly coming off the magic carpet lift, I tried to help my daughter understand how and where they were allowed to ski (they thought they needed to avoid any area where the toddlers were learning). An extremely rude elderly gentleman asked if I had a pass and I informed him I was told I could introduce my girls to the area as long as I did not get on the magic carpet myself. He asked me where was ski pass (I couldn't ski today due to injury), I informed him my daughter needed me for the moment and if he just allowed me to help her she would be ok to resume on her own. At that point I was told I needed a Parent and tot pass (my daughters are in 6th and 4th grade not ALLOWED age for that program!).. no other classes were going on except the Little MAC program. I had already purchased lift and rental for my two girls and they were not having any luck left to their own devices out there and could not hear me from the parental caged area (where they rope in parents like sheep). I have never seen a resort refuse to offer even the courtesy to inform youngsters of where they can ski? When I tried to explain daughters anxiety level the instructor again tried to tell me I wasn't allowed out of the roped off area. I had to be able to get my girls to hear me so we could leave at this point is was obvious this was a lost cause. Although I requested a refund, (I had paid for a full day's ski and only taken a run on the magic carpet after a drive up from south of boston) they offered me tickets for another day, both of my girls did not want to continue skiing there and I doubt would feel confident enough based on this experience to come back again. Waist of Money and a huge frustration/ loss of time. I have had plenty of positive experiences working with youngsters at other resorts and have been to most the mountains in NH and Vermont helping beginners on foot or on skis. My oldest has anxiety issues and was afraid for me to leave her side, this experience is certain to set her back since I was rudely and repeatedly interrupted while trying to calm her. This was a nightmare. Don't think this place has the desire to work with folks unless you're in a school program. Good luck if you're at a learning point and still need some basic courtesy in adopting to the sport or learning the layout of the facility. The staff don't have insight or flexibility to help vs hurt. The slope were wide open (we were there Friday afternoon), and if you have a minute to get started without staffer interference i'm sure you could get an exceptable early ski experience in. I suggest you go to PATs peak or Ragged mountain instead! read more

Hi, I hear all of the complaints and everyone has to remember this is a small gem in the city and it does have a lot of kids learning to ski so please be patient. Since it's small they do have to possibly hire some less experienced less polite teenage instructors who might not have all the etiquette, but for this I haven't seen any of it and all my 3 kids are growing up here and all have learned to ski and snowboard there. P.S. Also as they grow I'm sure they are trying out new rules to keep things under control so I'm sure they will work out whats best. I also believe that parents should be allowed in the beginner area for short times. Remember, this place is a gem in the city let's respect it and work with it. read more

This ski area was perfect for our family of beginner skiers. We went for the One Great Rate special which included ski or snowboard equipment, lift ticket, tubing, and hot chocolate by the fire pit all for $36!!! Amazing deal! Although it seemed a little crowded getting our gear, once we hit the slopes it felt like we had the slopes all to ourselves!! Probably not the best slopes if you are advanced skier, but for us it was a perfect day! read more

Nearby and a good place for kids to learn how to ski. We went skiing and tubing here this past winter and had a fantastic time. Called ahead to sign the kids up for lessons, which were reasonably priced. Paid an extra $5 for rentals. The rental staff were very friendly. The ski instructor (one instructor for both of my kids) was patient and the kids enjoyed the class. Skiing wasn't my kids thing, so we returned the equipment and went tubing afterwards. Tubing is also offered at this ski area. We went during MLK weekend, so it was crowded. There is a magic carpet that brings you to the top of the hill, but it's a little chaotic when at the top because there is very little room between disembarking the carpet and from where the line for the first tubing lane begins. Minor stuff though. We had a really good time. Looking forward to returning next season. read more
