This campground seems quaint upon initial viewing.
My husband called to get information,as we were looking for a place to camp while waiting on our home to be ready.
The conversation with the lady that owns the campground was apparently very confusing for her.
She assumed we were homeless and reiterated we needed a place to go,and proceeded to ask my husband numerous times if we were homeless.
Although understandable in the times we are in...it was off putting and should have been our initial red flag.
Anyway, We rented a campsite for two months at the end of the season.
We were told the last day was October 25th,so had planned around that date, but we were then informed that the actual last day of the campground being open was the 23rd...and you better be out before they feel your time is up!
in the midst of that two months we purchased a fifth wheel camper, and rented another site, which apparently was beyond the comprehension of the owner... because I had to fully explain that not only did I want to continue renting the site our camper was on,but also wanted another for our new camper as well.
Although I very thoroughly explained the entire situation,it still seemed very confusing for the woman.
While this was taking place, she also whent into a full on coughing gagging fit over my perfume, which was very light on that particular day (and had not been an issue any of the other times my husband and I were in close proximity to her)
We were finally able to clear up the intent, and we're put on a pretty bad site...very unlevel, mud and down trees along with garbage and cigarette butts all over the ground.
Our camper sunk approximately 6 inches in the 3 weeks we had it on the site, which made it impossible to level out our camper.
To make a long story less long...
We donated an entire truck load of wood, and even paid a bit extra for the troubles.
We were told our other campsite was absolutely disgusting, we had not left the campground yet,so the continued badgering for two days was absolutely unnecessary ( lady insisted she had to clean it herself)
Although there were two Tupperware lids under the camper I could not reach until the camper was moved,as well as a foux grass carpet,we were accused of leaving the sight disgusting, and she attempted to scold us on burning trash (neither accusations were true)
we took a week long trip to Florida, while the first camper was being moved out of the campground.
She also proceeded to tell my mother, who came to visit one time, how horrible we left the campsite and how she normally charges visitors, but was feeling nice that day ( visitors are not charged,or hadn't been up to this point) my mother was pretty upset by this interaction.
What a crazy bunch!!! (Yes,we have been told many stories about the mother and son, what a very out in left field pair)
I personally feel horrible for her husband, and understand why he seems so glum.
This is the very first review I'v ever left for anything, but felt compelled to warn others about what they may be getting into if considering this campground. read more
