I went to this Dental office for the first time this morning and was met with very kind and accommodating receptionists and dental hygienists. However, when the Dentist came in to let me know I had SEVEN cavities, I was completely taken aback. My last dental checkup was 6 months ago, and I only had a small cavity at that point. Once my appointment concluded I asked the receptionists to send me my X-rays. I then visited with my regular Dentist at Brisebois, and they said and I quote, "I don't know what that Dentist was looking at, but it couldn't have been from these scans". He assured me we would fill the one tooth that was bothering me non-invasively and sent me home. I find this urgency to tell people they have cavities and to get them filled when they are possibly non-existent is malpractice and unethical. I can only imagine how many people have come to this office and been completely lied to and scammed. Drilling into a tooth should be an absolute last resort, and the Dentist here should not be practicing if she is that money-hungry. I am appalled, to be honest. I wish that anyone who comes here goes to another office for a second opinion because I can assure you it will be a very different response. My experience at Dental Choice was extremely pleasant. I hate going to the dentist but the staff here are very friendly, knowledgeable and explain everything before they proceed. There prices are very good compared to most dental offices in Calgary and that is huge! read more

Ever since Dr Sharma left and the new staff took over customer service has been declining. I've been a loyal client for the last 8 years, and it is sad and disappointing to see how this place has turned into a cold, greedy and aloof dental office that has shifted from a practice that used to care to one that only cares about profit. As MRU Alumni, I continued to support them long after I graduated, however, due to recent events and the repeated neglect on the customer service side, I'm going to list my experiences: -I called this morning to cancel an appointment booked for Friday, January 4th and the lady who answered the phone said that she was going let it go this time, but that cancellations need to be made 2 business days in advance, which I know, it says on their emails, texts, I'm fully aware of the policy. She gave a hard time, apparently calling this morning, Wednesday, January 2 was not 2 business days, which doesn't make sense because 2 days it's 48 hours prior. I called TWO full days before. I asked her to explain what she considered to be 2 days and she said if I called the day before it would've been 3 full days, which contradicted what she said about 2 full days. By the way, the clinic was closed on Tuesday, January 1, so even if I wanted to cancel 3 days in advance it wasn't possible. She was rude, condescensing and sarcastic. When I asked her to transfer my call to a superior she refused and said that she was alone in the office. Unfortunately this wasn't the first time. Months ago it was the same story even though I called a few days in advance. Their policy is not clear, it changes according to their advantage. It's obvious they just want to collect the $100 fee as much as they can by manipulating people into paying. Again, this has been the case several times, and the policy seems to vary based on what's convenient to them. -On my previous visit 6-7 months ago, both the doctor and hygienist kept trying to sell me additional services even though they knew my coverage changed. They were fully aware of my situation. I explained again and they still insisted on it. I was very disappointed because they knew I was still looking for work at the time and I repeatedly said there was no way for me to borrow $2000 and I had to wait to get it done. Not once they actually took the time to explain what my new insurance covered, which is supposed to be part of their job, since most people don't understand how it works. I asked many times during that visit and on previous visits to please go over what my insurance covered and what wasn't covered but they kept ignoring me. They billed me for the extras that I wasn't covered for, which to a recent graduate can be a lot of money, plus they knew I wasn't working at the time. They used to explain every single charge, even gave students time to pay and ways to arrange for easy payments, but it was obvious they didn't care and they wanted payment of all fees right away. -And finally, their text/email cancellation system is clearly tailored to their convenience. When you get a text from them a few days in advance asking to confirm an upcoming appointment, it says to reply 'c' to confirm or call to cancel or reschedule. Why have that if you can't reply 'cancel' or 'reschedule' and your only option is to confirm? Things can change, so people are not always going to reply 'confirm', so I don't understand why they can't give people the option to cancel via text. It's the same thing over email, the link only allows you to confirm not cancel. You have to call and cancel, which is extremely inconvenient, specially if you're a busy person who doesn't always have the time to call. The text and email notifications to confirm are obviously made for the clinic's convenience, not the customer's, which shows how little they care to make it easy for people to cancel, which in turn brings more money, because having it that way makes it easier for them to collect $100 more times and more often. They lost me as a client. STUDENTS be ware, it's not cheaper, it'll cost you more! read more

Morality of the dental clinic is below the surface. They suggested me to get a night guard and I expressed tight fitting numerous times. Later, my teeth cracked repeatedly. The dental hygienist noticed repeated cracks and consulted with the dentist who advised me to stop wearing the night guard for 3 months to see if the night guard caused the cracks. There was no more cracks. But now they are saying that I had the cracks before the night guard and one tooth piece broken off with the filling done prior was just the filling itself. The x-ray would show otherwise but they deny everything. They told me to sign a paper waving them from any responsibility in an exchange of one filling cost. Also, only now they are offering to adjust the night guard after the damage is done. Low morality without any justice. They will be good until malpractice occurs. read more

Very friendly and professional staff. I had a few cleanings and fillings done here. The procedures were done well and there have been no issues at all. The dentist and assistants are very knowledgeable and will answer any questions you may have. Despite being a trip to the dentist, its overall a pleasant experience. read more

The staff were not knowledgeable and were unhelpful about concerns and inquiries I had. I experienced poor service and did not find their information helpful or informative. I was scheduled for appointments that I had to redo later on which costed me extra fees that weren't even necessary! Also procedures were very expensive. I now go to the dentist in Three Hills, let me say well worth the trip! read more

Had my fillings done today by Dr. Lisa Heilik and her assistant, Nikki, who were both so fantastic. They accommodated me in every way possible, as I am fairly anxious when it comes to having procedures done. Couldn't have asked for a smoother experience! Was on my way to my second appointment when an emergency occurred; it was unpredictable and sudden but I was near the office so I went to tell the receptionist in person about the incident and asked to rebooked as I had to go home as soon as possible. She rebooked me, then later that day she called me back to say they refuse to book me anymore. They said I can only be seen if I call and manage to get an appointment that same day... which is delusional as they are constantly booked. Ridiculous. Not to mention the only other time I've been to their office I waited an entire hour. Won't be hard to find a better dental office, that's for sure read more

Dental cleaning and work is never a thrill, but when it has to be done, it is preferred if it is in pleasant company and as painless as possible. This has been my experience with Mount Royal Dental Choice, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to others. read more

So disappointed. I have had an appointment booked for months. I went in to the clinic for an appointment and was told it was cancelled and the hygienist was already gone home for the day. The admin told me I had to call and confirm the appointment. I had called but there was no answer and because I did not leave a voicemail, was told it was my own fault. They did not even try to book me for a new appointment. Really great to know that I am a valued patient who has been going to this location for the last 4 years. Thanks for nothing. Amazing! The best dentist I've ever been to! The staff here are great; friendly, professional and efficient. Dr. Goldlewski took the time to explain every step of the way which put me at ease. I had three cavities filled and I was in and out within an hour, which has never happened. I'm looking forward to my next appointment! read more

Nice office once you find it and the dentist and hygienist were great. Reception was not helpful and did not process payment properly. It's extremely expensive. You can find better value elsewhere. Convenient if you're a MRU student, if you're not pick a different location because you will never find this place. read more
