Sean is a nice enough guy but I'll admit I preferred his dad as my dentist. They recently (in the last 6 months) renovated the offices so that it's a lot less dated and there's a little more space in the waiting area. There are also TVs in the rooms for you to watch while they're doing your teeth, although the last time I went mine wasn't on (it was also 7:30am so I'm falling asleep anyhow). The drawback to this location is that it's sooooo far from downtown and by the time my appointment is over, it's too late to get a parking spot in the c-train lot so I have to take a bus to the train and then the train downtown. However, the price is right and my insurance covers pretty much the whole thing, so I'll keep coming to this location as long as they don't jack up the prices like so many other dentists seem to. Dr pedersen fit me on short notice and did a thorough exam prior to treating. He determined the tooth could not be saved and started the extraction. The freezing was painless, as was the extraction and recovery! It was a challenging tooth but he got it done! The staff was very friendly, the office was bright, clean and inviting! I am an ex-dentist's daughter and am very picky when it comes to dentists! I would 100% recommend Dr.Pedersen!

Avoid Dr Toy at all costs. After moving to this area I had to change dentists, and decided to try…read morethe nearby clinic because I had a cavity bothering me. After an excessively long wait to see him after getting my x-rays done (15-20 minute wait) I finally saw the Converse-wearing young dentist. He proceeded to point out other cavities I have, one of which had given me no pain at all... Until he came along. He then poked and prodded inside the unknown-to-me cavity for about 5 minutes, causing enough pain for me to tear up and grip the chair tight. Then he disappeared for 5-10 minutes before coming back and repeating the process. On top of all that he said he had no idea if one of my teeth would need a route canal, so he'd have to just open it up and see. Wait, what? So after all this, now I have to wait two weeks for an appointment with being able to sleep for only about 3 hours a night because of all the cavity gouging he did in a cavity that had caused me no pain prior? I think not. Going to cancel my appointment and go see my old dentist. Never had a dentist cause this much pain in the CHECKUP SESSION before...

Dr. Toy took the time with me and explained what needed to be done, without pressure to have extra work done that can wait for a future visit. I was surprised how balanced & reasonable my bill was. The receptionist was very helpful and explained my bill and the pre-authorization we are seeking. There are no frills at this office, just what a dentist office is all about. I don't think going to the dentist is an experience anyone can say they enjoyed, but the dentist &…read moredental hygienist made it much more comfortable than other dental offices I've been to. The staff (that I encountered) were all great! I get really scared during dental appointments, & really anything I know won't be comfortable. They seem so much more gentle than other dentist/dental hygienists. When I'd flinch, they'd ask if I'm okay rather than getting annoyed & telling me it doesn't hurt, like other dentists I've been to. One (possible) down side, they charge for how long you're with the dentist, rather than each treatment being done as one payment each. Not sure how much of a difference this makes however because I imagine that would make it harder to over charge for a treatment.
