Quite disappointed in our visit at this dental clinic. We were referred here for my 3.5year old…read moredaughter to get her tooth looked at. At first they didn't want me to come back with my daughter and said that kids do better when their parents aren't around (which I understand can be the case), but my daughter didn't want to go in a strange room with a stranger without me so they allowed me in. Long story short they tried to get x rays of my daughter and escorted me out quietly to try and distract her. As I waited in the waiting room I stood by the door to the X-ray room and my daughter began to cry, the dental assistant raised her voice at my daughter (I'll call her Anna for protection sake) and told her multiple times rudely " Anna stop crying, if you want to see your mommy you have to stop crying Anna" I stood behind the door feeling sick that I couldn't be there for my 3 YEAR OLD daughter and this woman wouldn't let her see me until she stopped crying. A couple minutes later they came out and the dental assistant acted all smiley and nice and my daughter was visibly upset still. For a first time visit to a paediatric dentist this was so beyond wrong! I would highly caution parents in letting their children go behind closed doors if this is how staff are treating kids (especially a 3 year old). No child should be spoken to like this or told they cannot see their parent! I did call and inform their office manager of what happened, but we will not be returning and again if you have young kids who can't fully communicate what goes on I wouldn't trust this clinic sadly.

In all he's had 3 fillings done here and I'm quite impressed with their services. It is a very busy practice and there are a lot of people in the waiting room. Expect to wait a month to get in for routine exams and treatments. Generally the staff is very pleasant. I do find one young receptionist a bit on the colder side but she does her job well so what can you do? I find this pediatric dental practice serves children much better than a regular dental practice could.

Ok, Dr Barsky is the dentist I had prior to moving on to Dr Chan. And why did I move? Well, Dr…read moreBarsky is a pediatric dentist. A dentist that I went to long after ceasing to be a child. Despite Dr Barky's assurances that I could stay until I had kids of my own (and even then), I decided to leave when one of the dental hygenists mistook me for my own mother. Having only glanced at my chart, she assumed "I" was quite small - 3 or 4, and that I was my mother. I was really offended, but decided it was time to move on. A waiting room is awesome when covered in kids toys, but it was a sacrifice I had to make to save my own dignity. That being said, there was a reason I went to Dr Barsky for so long. The purple office was upbeat and fun, and more than a little unusual. The chairs themselves are also purple, and there are cute pictures drawn by patients and posters everywhere. There are several flavours of fluoride available: from bubblegum to strawberry, and you got to pick from a cute chart with pictures. And if you were good, you got a prize... Ok, ok, it was time to move on! Dr Barsky has a way with people (and kids in particular) that made it hard to leave. This can be seen in the long waiting periods it takes to book an appointment: you must do it nearly six months in advance. If I had kids though, I would take them to him. It actually makes going to the dentist a treat.

We came here for my 3 yr old daughter. She loves hygienists but when it comes to dentists NO WAY!…read moreOur dentist was unable to work on her cavities so we had a referral sent here. It took a couple months to get our initial appointment. Once in we received our consultation and were set up with dental surgery at their surgical suite. My daughter was at this time, also deathly afraid of hospitals so it was good news that the dental surgery was performed in an office type setting. The front desk staff are great. Very friendly. The lady in the financial department was easy to work with. Set up a payment plan that worked for us. Day of surgery went well. Very nice surgical suite. Great waiting room. The toys made my daughter's anxiety lessen. She was able to play her stress and worry away. Once back into the surgery area the nurse and Dr Barsky were so nice and calming. They let my daughter know what they were going to do (well how they help her fall asleep that is). She was so relaxed in this setting. After surgery we again received wonderful care. They woke her up with a Freezie which is all she remembers. I highly recommend this dental office!!!! Especially if you have an anxious child.

I called and booked an appointment but then realized I had to change it. I emailed them, they wouldn't allow a cancellation by emailed. So I called them, they didn't answer so I left a message and they still expected me to be at the appointment because I didn't speak to someone directly. So that was a bit of a joke, to avoid a cancellation fee I went! Well it stated off good. They have friendly ladies at the front and lots of cool things for the kids to look at while in the waiting room. Don't let this deceive you.....as soon as the dr looks In his mouth he starts telling me that my son needs a bunch of teeth taken out and because he won't sit for X-rays he will have to be sedated with IV's and things up his nose etc. Wow. Did he ever Freek me out. Then when he was trying to get into my sons mouth again to show me, my son was squirming, the dr started holding him down and I quickly told him to stop! I feel like this office is very money hungry and doesn't seem all it's cracked up to be. My son may need some extractions but I'm pretty sure i won't go there to get them done.

I highly recommend NOT going to this Dental Office. Why? Here is my story…read more.. I brought my daughter in to Dr. Cameron Zealand for a check up, cleaning and X-Rays. He was friendly enough, and seemed to bond easily with the children. One of his "front desk staff" needs a bit of an attitude adjustment. She was slightly rude and very unfriendly. Anyway, A grand total of $263.00 ($363 including the deposit mentioned later) charged to my Credit Card. Acceptable I suppose. They then proceeded to give me a quote of $4,300.00!!! For an 11 year olds teeth? No, Not braces... this estimate was for fillings, crowns and tooth removals. I think not. (We are going for a second opinion but there is a waiting list and that will be a few months away) They pushed the urgency and pressured me to make an appointment (for 8 days later) in which I needed to leave a $100.00 Deposit; The deposit to be kept if I did not cancel at least 2 business days in advance. Well at $4300.00 you can bet your bottom that I cancelled in search for a second opinion. I, in fact cancelled just 2 or 3 days later. My $100.00 Dollars was not refunded to my CC until I called them 2 more days later and demanded it. During this time, I went to put my claim into my dental benefits insurance company. (I specifically told the Dental office NOT to put the Claim through, as it is quicker for me to do it online). I discovered that not only did the Dental office put the claim through, they did this twice! Once for them to be paid (keep in mind I already paid them!) and once for myself to be paid. I called the office and got them to cancel their claim reminding them that I am to be sent the claim money, as they have been paid already, by ME! Well they did cancel one of the 2 claims, guess which one ... not the one where they get paid a second time! Well I called the insurance company, They suggested I try to get my refund from the dentist and if they do not comply the will be investigated for fraud. I was told by the insurance company that if the dental office calls they will give them the exact amount that has been sent by check so they can refund me immediately. I called the dental office and spent most of my time on hold. They tried to tell me to wait until they receive the check. NOPE! I demanded they call the insurance company and get that money amount being sent to them because I want my refund NOW. I have been through too much with this office and will not wait for them any longer. They once again put me on hold and when she returned I was told that the office manager was on hold with the insurance company and they will call me back as soon as they can. Nearly 2 hours later, I called them back and was informed they refunded the payment to my Credit Card. Thankfully 2 days later I saw the transaction of the refund on my CC. Now keep in mind that they did in fact refund all that was needed to be refunded, but, at what cost? It was a hassle and a fight, and emotionally/mentally exhausting dealing with this Company. They returned nothing until I demanded it. My personal opinion... I don't trust this company in least and I will NEVER return. Although Dr. Cameron himself was very good with my daughter, the company overall caused too much anguish. They should pay me for the trauma they caused over a 2 week period! Fraudulent company? Scam company? Money gouging company? You decide. Update.. Went for the second opinion and was quoted half of what Dr. Zealands office quoted!! Dr Zealand wanted to pull teeth that did not need to be pulled, double charged for fillings (on 3 teeth) wanted to put caps on baby teeth that are just about ready to fall out... and so much more... I advise you to STAY AWAY!!!!
