My loved one had a prepaid service here. I met with a representative named John who could not have been more helpful and compassionate. He helped me through all of the steps of planning the service, ordering the essentials, and reserving the chapel time. He was there for me every step of the way on this difficult journey. The chapel and service turned out to be beautiful and honored my loved one in a dignified and comforting manner. The woman in charge of arranging the entombment was difficult to work with. She was unprofessional, pushy, and tried to rush me through the process even though I asked her to slow down so I could ask questions and fully understand the process and paperwork. She needs more training or a different job. Finally, the St. Anthony Crypt where my loved one's final resting place was to be was dirty. Before the service I asked if it could be swept, dusted, and cleaned of dead bugs and cobwebs (all around and on the fountain with the statue of Mary). The morning of the service, I went to check and it had not been cleaned in any way. I returned with cleaning supplies and did it myself a couple of hours before the service. By the way, the fountain no longer operates so the least they could do is keep it clean. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. My baby was laid to rest here in October 2024. At the time, I was told it would take about 3-6 months for the headstone to be placed. Those months passed, and nothing happened. There was no headstone, no grass--just dirt and a lot of waiting. Throughout this process, my mom and I have been in contact with Jessica. We were given four different dates and timeframes for when the headstone would be installed. Each time, we were told it would only be "a few more weeks." We checked again in February--still nothing. We returned on May 17th and still nothing. I sent another email hoping for answers and never received a response. Today is December 15th, 2025. It has been over a year, and there is still no headstone and no update. Every visit breaks my heart all over again. This has been an incredibly painful experience during an already unbearable time, and I am deeply disappointed. I wish I had spared myself more heartbreak and laid my baby to rest somewhere else. Please spare yourself the added pain and consider carefully before placing your loved ones in the care of Mount Olivet. In my experience, there was a profound lack of compassion and understanding during an already unimaginable time of grief. What should have been handled with care and respect instead became another source of heartbreak. read more

The officiant was a no show. This created an extremely stressful and upsetting situation at a time when family was already grieving. While some aspects may have been handled well, this, plus not having holy water available at the graveside is unacceptable, especially for what should be customary. Trust to handle an important and emotional day is crucial. These are things one should not have to worry about. Please put a better backup plan in place! read more

My experience with your establishment has been nothing short of a gruesome parade of ineptitudes, beginning from when I first engaged your services in November. It would seem, if the handling of my sister's funeral is a reflection of your general modus operandi, that the driving force behind your operation is greed - a ruthless extraction of money appearing to be of profounder importance than serving the bereaved. A rather grim reality to come to terms with considering how contrary this seems to your proclaimed mission statement. Enumerating the monumental blunders that were precursors to, and part of the funeral would leave any rational mind boggled: 1) Exhibit A: At the onset, you had vehemently refused the casket which we had been assured prior would not be an issue. Our order, carefully finalized and expedited to your location, was adamantly dismissed. 2) Exhibit B: The wanton negligence displayed with regards to my sister's obituary was appalling. It was not until I queried about its inexplicable absence that I discovered your inadvertent failure. 3) Furthermore, you took it upon yourselves to arrange a closed casket ceremony - an audacious violation of our explicit request. 4) The priest's eulogy wandered into the terrain of the fantastic, painting a picture of an unfamiliar person rather than my sister. 5) Your funeral coordinator, to extend the trail of incompetence, facilitated an introduction to wrong hymns for reading. 6) As if to perfect your grand showcase of blunders, a single burial was dug despite the payment for, and subsequent promise of a double. 7) The inaccuracies riddled within the death certificate could only be attributed to a lack of diligence or a blatant dismissive attitude. 8) The seemingly eternal wait for the foundation's setting and the placement of her headstone - which your team is well-equipped with - has required much protracted persistence on my part. All together, these distressing instances can only suggest a profound lack of compassion, dignity, and respect that you erroneously claim to uphold. It is a tragedy to think you can treat those grieving as mere piggy banks, trampling on their emotions with no thought for aftermath. I had hoped for a respectful farewell for my sister. Mt. Olivet Cemetery and staff are absolutely wonderful! We had a family member pass away just before the end of December, 2021. Although services were previously paid for, we still had to go through all the motions, and make the necessary decisions. Our funeral director, Maura, was wonderful. She was so kind and caring, getting us the answers, and getting things done for us. The final Rosary and Funeral Mass were beautiful. Everything was beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Aside from a beautiful service and internment for my mother over a year ago, I then worked with Benjamin Glenn for; advice, guidance, and foundation/ setting for her epitaph and Memorial, and today I over saw the placement of her memorial completed by Johnny and David (coordinated with me through Tracy). These two men did a professional, precise, and beautiful setting and I am thrilled with the end result! I was frantic when my sister came into town. She has not been here in so long, we had not had proper time to catch up and there is only so many hours in the day. The staff here went out of thier way to make us feel welcomed even though we forgot where our relative was buried. They made us feel like our time was just as important as every one elses was. Two years later and the grounds have just gotten worse. They now say that they have no money to fix the irrigation system yet they have money for an over the top 13 stations of the cross sculpture. It's shameful and against the Catholic religion to treat our departed love ones with such disrespect. read more

This cemetery has definitely gone downhill over the years. It's really heartbreaking when the grounds look so bad. My loved ones stone has been beat up by lawn mowers. The grass looks horrible. The very back of cemetery looks neglected, while the main area looks great. The back area is where the babies are buried. It makes me sick to my stomach. I'll have to plant some flowers and make what I can look better. I'm not sure what has happened to this cemetery, but it breaks my heart. read more

We have experienced our very first death in our immediate family this past week, my Mom. In 2002 my Dad and Mom went to select their cemetery plots, caskets, and sign on Mount Olivet as their mortuary to handle all the arrangements for their passing. They chose this particular place since they are so close to the Archdiocese of Denver. My three brothers and I took care of all the details since my Dad was grieving for my Mom. Their staff could not give accurate information when we approached them for burial dates right after my mothers passing. For anyone who goes through this process, we have learned that a family should contact the funeral home first not their church for arrangements, (who knew?). My Dad is very close to his parish and we went their first to make sure the church services could be on the date and time we were requesting.. Seeking our burial for 4 days from the time of death, we were not given a confirmation that they could bury my Mom on that day due to being "permit" ready which was already locked in with the church. We continued to communicate and were assigned to a funeral director by the name of Jefferson who told us that he was not our assigned funeral director but would be filling in for Beth who was. He started the process but again no guarantees that Mom would be buried on our day. By now my Dad was getting involved. He contacted the doctor to expedite the signing of the death certificate to get our "permit". He has a close relationship with he Archdiocese and we believe that, this was how we were "now" attended to more carefully. Next was our onsite meeting with our funeral director Beth. Beth was sick this day, so we are now back to Jefferson, He was kind and able to get us through the process. We were informed that their would be another funeral director bringing my mom to her Vigil Service, so we still have not met Beth or received a phone call from her. Thank goodness for the ALL SOULS Catholic Church their service and compassion made this experience heartfelt and that Mom was with God. It was now time to have the Mass and burial. We get to meet Beth for the first time. She was not informed about the details and our wishes from our meeting about the family cars, procession and arrival time at the cemetery. She was wearing a bright pink jacket which seemed inappropriate in her profession. She also informed us at the church that they were closing the casket in one minute to start the funeral mass so we needed to have the family say their last goodbyes. We felt rushed. At the cemetery there were not enough chairs for all 7 children and my Dad so this looked like they knew nothing about the size of the family. This part of the service also felt rushed. Beth handed my Dad a bag, sharing with him the contents inside: death certificates, extra prayer cards and thank you cards included in the package just before they lowered the casket. Really???? She should have done this discreetly with one of the children and not the grieving spouse. Being in the service industry myself,I believe its all about the experience, this organization needs to work on their compassion and knowing their customer. My Dad will be buried next to my Mom and his services are already paid for with Mt.Olivet. My brothers and I will handle things much much differently when my Dad passes away. I understand this is a "business" however, a shift in dialogue, a stronger relationship with their customers and an upgrade on their compassion and communication would certainly help. I WISH I had read the reviews on YELP before our first meeting with Jefferson so we could have been even more specific about what we wanted for my Mom and Dad. We attended services for our grandmother at Mount Olivet recently. The chapel was very nice and the priest did a great job of listening to the families wants and needs. The priest is a retired Chaplin from the Air force and was very well spoken. The people running the property were friendly and professional. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. read more

Well we buried my daughter here about 5 years ago they totally messed up on her paperwork so if you do go through Mount Olivet make sure that you check all signatures of the owner of the plot because they don't care once you leave my uncle was buried there they did the same thing the paperwork was so inaccurate poor management and be really careful because they try on prey on grieving people sad to say read more

Because I was very little when my mother died....I'm afraid my review won't include such thing like paperwork or cost. My mother has been dead since 2008 and even though she has no headstone the people at the front desk have helped me map out exactly where she is and were always very patient and kind. They've kept the land beautiful and clean and even if I'm there for a very sad reason, the environment is so peaceful and calm that I always leave feeling better. I have known six people buried here (but again I had no part in paperwork) I feel confident they are in the best possible place here at Mount Olivet. read more

If I could give zero stars for the "service" we received, I would. We buried our stillborn (7 months) daughter's cremains here because my husband is Catholic. You would think a Catholic run operation would do better at the whole death thing than a secular business. Wrong. We met with a woman named Donna. To put it mildly, Donna is in the wrong business. Her capacity for empathy was terrible. She should be selling sweaters at Coldwater Creek or maybe used cars, not helping grieving families bury their dead. She had no awareness of the gravity of the process. She wanted to happily chat about the "cute dog" on the credit card I handed her to pay $1600 to bury our child. Yeah, lady, I give a s$&t about how much you just loooove dogs. I get that this is a business, but have a little grace and tact. She seemed far more interested in dollars than in any experience we were having personally. Insensitive at best, idiotic at worst. Thank God Horan & McConaty handled all the other details. They treated us with unbelievable care and gentleness there. If you are in the awful position of having to bury a loved one, stay the hell away from Mt. Olivet and Donna. Go somewhere where the people are held to higher standards of care, attitude, and professionalism. Do NOT use this place. read more

We buried my father at Mt Olivet this January. He and my mother had prearranged their plot and set up many of the details in advance which helped tremendously. We were out of state when Dad passed. My husband immediately called the Archdiocese as we knew his wishes. They assigned Laura to be our liaison and she was a Godsend. All the details were handled expeditiously, with dignity, professionally, and the list goes on. Upon our arrival back home, things had been taken care of that would have set us back a few days had it not been for the great communication with Laura, et.al. My wife and I and our three children attended a funeral here about two weeks ago in November 2016. My wife lost her grandmother and she was buried at the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Personally, I felt that they were overly concerned about my two boys and i wearing our warm hats, especially because it was about 10 degrees out and they were struggling with colds. They felt the need to raise their voices loudly in the entrance to, "Please Take OFF your hats out of respect". I thought that was funny, the boys and I decided to do what they said. I did bring up the fact that they had my wife's grandmothers date misprinted, instead of November 18, 2016 they had November 18, 2106. I mentioned that would of made her 90 years older than she was. Interesting that they want forgiveness for miss printing, but we have no grace for trying to stay warm. I do think that it was completely rude that the Catholic church will not allow us (my wife and kids) to partake in "THEIR COMMUNION", and they announced it at the funeral that if you are NOT A MEMBER OF THEM, you cannot partake, though we believe in Jesus Christ. WOW! Please let me know if you died, or did Jesus die on the cross? If you are so involved in the details, then please check your spelling and writing before you print it. I think you are missing the BOAT, Love is first and who cares about hats in the church and who made you God that you would not allow my family to communion with our relatives. I really wish I could do a 0 star post on Mount Olivet/Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary. I expected good things as my husbands mom is buried here and they were kind at the time of her burial. Although we never did her service here and after today I am so thankful we didn't I don't know how it would have turned out. My best friends baby was a stillborn and he was laid to rest today, kind of. They had a viewing scheduled and as the viewing started my best friend ended up convulsing in seizure like actions, expectedly so after seeing her baby after leaving him in the hands of these people after his death. The director stood around saying "what do I do?" 911 was called and she was taken to the hospital just to be evaluated. The lady came out who was helping with the viewing and funeral and said baby was taken care of and that we need to worry about baby's mom, that she would take care of everything, we could come back and continue the service if they decided that. They were called from the mortuary at the hospital and were told they had a spot for them and they could still have the service if they wanted to. Pretty soon after she was discharged and called to let them know they were on their way back. This is where it gets disgusting. The parents were told they no longer would do a service or continue the viewing for mom, dad, big brother, grandparents or anyone to say goodbye. It was either go directly to the gravesite or reschedule. They were told they had to get back to Mount Olivet ASAP as fast as they could and we would go directly to the gravesite. As we all are standing there waiting, grandma really wanted to say goodbye, the two office ladies just stared as she asked why she couldn't see her grand baby as she was in the room for a short minute before mom got sick. I asked the ladies what we could do and they said "we're not in charge, ask Jessica." Like I know who Jessica is. Tracked her down loading baby into the limo, asked if there was anything we could do as mom and dads goodbye was cut short and no one else got to be with him. Jessica's response was "No, there is nothing we can do, we already moved everything around so we could do the burial." Like this families pain was such an inconvenience, also note there were no other funerals in progress. Are you serious? They robbed a family from their last goodbye from a baby who never made it to earth, they robbed a mother from a final goodbye and closure. Mom tried on the way to the gravesite to open the casket because she wanted more pictures of her baby and to touch him one more time, but they had sealed the casket and as she said she was trying to do it quietly because she was scared the lady in the limo would say something to her. Didn't ask to seal it, just rushed him out while mom was having a medical emergency and stole their last time with their baby. A few words were said by mom and grandpa and Jessica says "This concludes our service, thank you for coming to Mount Olivet." Or something like that. Um, #1 what service did Mount Olivet provide besides lowering the casket. #2 when she left in the ambulance they promised we could see him, love him and be given the proper time to mourn. Instead they rushed the parents from the hospital on the 2nd worst day of their lives only for them to not even be able to touch their baby because "things already had to be re arranged." I am appalled. As a mother I am heart broken for them. Please, please if you are looking into services, re think. They offer free services for stillborns, please if you are referred here, deny it. I can not bare to think other parents would have a situation similar to this. Not to mention, the landscaping is minimal at best, weeds and goose droppings everywhere, we stopped bringing our kids by their grandmas grave because we are unable to find a spot to sit and visit due to those things. Mount Olivet denied them their last moments with their baby all because she fell ill as she was seeing him in a casket. I hope people read these and I can help one family to not have a heartache like this. read more

I have had several experiences wrth this cemetery over the last 20 years. I think it has beautiful peaceful grounds that are generally well maintained. It gets a little brown towards the middle to end of summer, but it stays moist enough to keep marigolds and moss roses I plant annually in bloom. I also recently planned my fathers funeral with the mortuary. They were wonderful to work with. I feel like Laura really took her time with us as we changed our minds repeatedly. We never felt pressured into gold plated urns or anything. A different gentleman met us at St Thomas for the funeral mass and allowed us a few minutes private viewing to see Dad in his suit instead of hospital robes. The site director allowing this meant a lot. later in the week at the grave side, we were with Laura again. She took her time with us when Father and half our group got stuck in traffic. She had us get involved in the burial too. She encouraged me to actually set Dad's urn in the ground and seal it. Then she invited all present to shovel a scoop of the dirt on top-what closure! after she left the grounds keepers stayed a ways off to allow us to stay a while before they came in to replace the sod and strike the chairs. Very easy company to work with. They held our hands and explained EVERYTHING every step of the way. read more
