Mom was receiving hospice care and the nursing staff highly recommended All-States. The next morning we met with Becky at All-States on University who took her time to walk both myself and my two sisters through the process. Mom wanted to be interned with my Dad at Ft. Logan. Becky took care of arranging the dates. At a time like this, it was great to have Becky there to answer questions and provide great service, advice and compassion. I had initially picked a different funeral home because my family had always used them. But, a friend recommended I make a few calls, even though it was 3:00 am when mom passed. During my third and final call, I phoned All-states cremation and talked to the kindest person ever. EVER! She warmed my heart with every word and I knew this was right. The two men who took mom to the funeral home were just so nice. Before they left, one of the men patted me on the back and said, I promise we will take care of your mom. I had tried to stay strong up, but I lost it. I was offered a few different locations, but their Centennial location was closet to me. I was greeted by yet another kind person. How were there so many nice people worked at this company? I know Yelp discourages mentioning names, even when it's positive so, I will keep quiet. The cremation arranger walked me through a process I wasn't sure if I was ready for. She explained things multiple times and must have sensed when I wasn't getting something because she would explain it again. Given my experience with the other funeral home my family usually uses, I was expecting to be sold things I didn't want. Before I walked in I was ready to get angry with anyone who tried to sell me an urn or a viewing, but it never happened. I knew my mom's friends would shame me for not buying a $500 urn, and it was nice that this company didn't push a sale or judge me. I went back on a Tuesday to pick up mom. Once again, they were just so kind! When they gave me mom, this may sound crazy, but I could feel her telling me that she was treated with love from start to finish. I couldn't believe this was all that had to happen. From the time I made that initial call at 3:00 am to picking up my mom's ashes less than a week later, I made zero phone calls to the company in-between. They did everything while I had time to grieve. I walked into this experience wanting cremation, not to be judged or pressured, to be treated with grace, and to pay a fair price. All states does not seem to be the least expensive, but not the most. But, WHY WOULD YOU GO WITH A CREMATION PLACE THAT IS THE LOWEST PRICE????? Don't treat buying cremation like trying to find the best deal on a printer! THIS IS YOUR LOVED ONE! THINK ABOUT IT!!!!! This was the kindest, simplest process I have ever been through. The last time I called a plumber to snake a drain, it was more complicated than this! When confronted, they blamed hospice, refused same-day viewing, demanded payment just to see my father, and claimed it would take four days minimum to arrange. Their callous treatment turned our grief into additional trauma. They tried prey on our family; avoid at all costs so they don't prey on yours. Would leave zero stars if I could.

I will tell you my story and how I came to know about Be a Tree Cremation. My son passed away…read moreunexpectedly on 9.16.21, 12 days before his 32nd birthday, we were making plans to celebrate him, we had just talked on the phone the day before and texted before he went to bed. I will never forget the call, my life changed forever, he was my only child. I would have never thought that my healthy 31 year old son would go before me, go to sleep and never wake up. I never thought I would be seeking any type of burial services for my 31 year or old son, never thought about pre-planning for myself, just never thought about any funeral planning at all and had not talked to my son about any of this, why would I, he was young, healthy, active, outdoorsy and full of life! What I did know was that he would not want to be buried, that he loved the environment and would do anything to save it. My son loved the outdoors, nature, hiking, rock climbing, camping, white water canoeing, ice climbing and nature in general and he loved Colorado and all of its beauty. When I learned of water cremation and Be a Tree and it's founder Emily Nelson and what Be a Tree stood for, no carcinogens to pollute our air like a traditional fire cremation, I knew my son would approve. Emily and her staff at Be a Tree, were so helpful to my family, they were patient, they helped guide us, helped set up a small visitation prior to cremation, worked with us on the ceremony, my sons Celebration of Life, gave us some ideas for a venue and a Celebrant, they held our hand during the worse time of our lives. My family and I also got to know Half Moon Farm in Lakewood, after the water cremation, the liquid byproduct of water cremation is a nontoxic solution of amino acids, peptides, sugars, and soap, which makes a wonderful fertilizer that Be a Tree calls "Tree Tea", families may take some Tree Tea home to water trees and plants in their personal garden or donate to Half Moon Farm to be used on flowers and other non-edible plants; this is the option I chose. For this reason Half Moon Farm will always be a special place for me to go as well. We had some really nice bouquets of fresh cut flowers from Half Moon Farm at my sons service, they were absolutely beautiful. I will never forget the kindness that Emily and her staff showed to my son and my family; they took broken people and lifted us up with love and light and helped us navigate the darkness of death. I had no idea what a positive, life-changing experience it would be for myself and family. Within an hour of my wife's passing, a kind representative from H & M arrived at Denver Hospice to explain the process. Within about 24 hours, I received a call from Jim Moon at the Centennial Location to not only offer his condolences but also to set up a time to meet and to arrange a time for the viewing. My wife went through a very difficult time. I remember the strain on her face as she fought for her last breaths of life and I remember how she looked when the nurse woke me up to let me know my beautiful wife had passed on into eternity. To say the viewing was life-changing is an understatement. It is hard to find the words to express how much comfort and peace that brought. She never looked so beautiful and in fact looked 10-15 years younger than when I last saw her at Denver Hospice. It was truly incredible and it's an image I will hold dear to my heart forever. Jim was absolutely amazing during the whole process. He called me every day to see how I was doing. He offered guidance and his expertise wherever and whenever needed. Pressure never once entered the equation. I worked closely with Christine on the flyer and pictures and she was simply fantastic. The service was on 2/15 and although Jim was not able to attend, Lucas was and he did fantastic. I had a couple of tricky recordings that needed to be queued up during the audio portion and he nailed it! The service was flawless. The music and pictures played beautifully. The stage looked so elegant and beautiful. It's an excruciating thing to lose your partner and best friend - even more when there is suffering involved. Having a partner like H & M there to ease this process and transition is an extraordinary gift. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have partnered with H & M to begin my process of healing. This was a very positive experience for me and my family. I am a customer for life and I cannot imagine considering anyone else for funeral and cremation services. It's not a sexy business and certainly not something we like to talk about too much but it is a part of life that we all have to face sooner or later. I feel I have gained a friend and an invaluable resource through all of this. I've read some of the reviews and although I can't speak to some of the negative experiences, I can only speak to mine and I absolutely recommend H&M because I believe this is a business that truly cares about helping loved ones through this difficult time and I received nothing but compassion, understanding and integrity through the entire process. It may not have been the cheapest in town but for what I received and the healing it brought me, it was worth every penny.

It's the first time I ever really dealt with a funeral home and/or had anything to do with a funeral director. My x wife and I are still close and I knew her mother very well. The cremation was handled and her ashes weee out in six smaller decorative boxes and given to various family members and friends. There was a huge selection of ornamental boxes to choose from and they even handled the engraving on the underside. All in all, for a terrible event in my X bride's life, the situation couldn't have gone smoother. The building itself is beautiful and the staff were polite, professional and caring. I cannot really comment on expense as it was all handled before she passed away and paid for. I have no idea whatsoever on how much it all cost.
