Aside from being a sports facility, this is also a polling location for Federal, State and local elections. Ample parking spaces available.

I would definitely recommend anyone going to DC United games to come by for a drink or two. It is a family/kid friendly as well as pet friendly, so you are likely to run into kids and dogs here but it is really a beer garden. There are lots of activities here to keep you busy while enjoying some drinks. There is a large TV screen (w/ great picture) that can be split into multiple screens for game watching, etc. There are also lots of corn hole sets, giant Jenga, connect 4, a small soccer field, and probably the best activity is the Axe throwing they have set up. There are also lots of benches and seats if the endless amount of activities is too much for you. They serve beer, wine, pop, and a couple other drinks but there is no hard liquor here (lost 1/2 star for that). My other knock is that there are not a lot of food options but I am sure that will change. There was an oyster bar as well as a grill stand making chorizo rolls and other assortments. Definitely worth checking this place out, though.

That's right, you have to buy tokens to buy beer, wine, or soda. All at different prices. But hey, a discount if you buy 5 or 10 up front. It has a nice big screen. But singular. Nothing else. And good luck on sightlines unless you get one of the picnic tables up front, because there are umbrellas at the picnic tables obscuring the view. Why umbrellas? Presumably because there are no shade structures to otherwise speak of. If it is a hot sunny day, the asphalt surface will surely bake you. They have potential here and it does seem like a work in progress - axe throwing might be on the horizon - but with the stadium construction, it is hard to get to, it's loud, it smells bad, and it's also summer time, so it's hot. All things they can't control. Maybe they'll improve what they can.

This is my third visit for the purpose of attending the Virginia High School State Swimming Championship. Parking can be a challenge for visitors depending on timing. There is a lot of close surface parking. The lot was overall pretty clean with minor debris. The building although dated to the early 70's is in great condition. The majority of the facility is for the GMU competition pool. It was fully renovated in the past 15 years. The primary pool and diving well is for George Mason Swim and Dive team practice and competition. However, faculty and students can use the pool. They also have a Masters swim group that uses the competition pool. The spectator area is extremely compact, but spans the entire length of the pool and well. A 25 yard training pool is also offered. A nice size tiled in hot tub, sauna and fitness room is on the same level. The Olympic size competition pool is 50 meters with movable bulkhead, platform diving and well. The aquatic complex consist of approximately 145,000 gallons of swimming capability. The Long Course pool has eight lanes for competition. What I did not see was indoor basketball courts. However, they do have multi purpose areas in the building. They also have offices and classrooms. The locker room area is somewhat small, but was pretty clean. There were two malfunctioning items. A sink was closed off and a non flushing urinal. Day passes are offered to visitors for $10. This covers the entire pool and fitness areas in the building. 3.5 rounding down.

I think it is safe to assume the Field House is where most of the people playing sports for GMU go. The Field house is open to all students and AFC members but this place is for serious athletes only! You won't see dudes with tons of hair gel and girls caked up in tons of make up here (unlike at the AFC.) You also won't see many machines here. There's a huge weight room, in and outdoor track, and four indoor multipurpose courts. There probably is a little more than what I've mentioned because I usually hit up the weight room with one of my friends then leave. If you end up going to a GMU athletic building you won't be disappointed!

I was learning new rules every game. Some of the rules are complicated for sure. We were on the Wednesday league. Most of the regular season games were washed out due to rain almost every Wednesday (unbelievable). They made up some of our games in the end with double headers. They have nice refs each game. Great sportsmanship from almost all the players. We knew we would be getting rings for winning the championship. However, after we won the finals, there was no ring and no email for two weeks. We spoke with players from the advanced league and they informed us that the league operators must have forgotten as they give out the rings immediately after the conclusion of the finals. I reached to their help desk team and sent them our finals report. We received a response with the instructions on how to get our rings and champs t shirt. Rings are awesome. Fits my middle finger and it's nice and heavy. Absolutely worth it. I wish they had given it to us on the finals day as we could have had a nice team picture.

There are some picnic tables near this building where you can sit, eat, and or relax, some of which are shaded. You will also find some building structures at the site that that include the main house, a smokehouse, which you will see fake meat hanging from the overhead, and a replica slave quarter. If you are driving here, there are two parking lots for you to park. You will find a ton of green space, some trails, and additional picnic tables by the main house. I like that this site does not shy away from its slavery past. It faces it head on and pays tribute to those that were enslaved. I like this site. It provides a bit of a history lesson through informational placards placed along the grounds. Gives hikers an opportunity to explore and work out, and is also a place of peace and relaxation. The site has a decent event schedule that includes: Dairy Days-Ice Cream Making & Butter, Peaches and Cream, A Visit With Santa, Colorful Pumpkins, Making a Scarecrow, classic car shows, and various scout merit badge opportunities. In addition to all of that, they offer tours. There is always something going on here. It was pretty chill and laid back during my visit. There were not a lot of people there. This is a neat place to check out. You could spend about 2 hours here exploring.

I recently had a very concerning experience after leaving an honest negative review. Mr. Love called me directly, and instead of addressing my concerns professionally, he was dismissive and made me feel guilty for speaking up. During that conversation, I explained ongoing issues: limited access to equipment due to overcrowding and frequent classes, the steam room often being closed without any posted cleaning schedule, and staff behavior that can feel rude and unwelcoming. None of these concerns were taken seriously. A week ago, I experienced another incident. As I entered the steam room with three other members, we were abruptly told to leave because it was being cleaned. There was no prior notice or posted schedule, and the staff member handled the situation in a very rude and inconsiderate way, despite the fact that we were already undressed and ready to use the facility. Following this, I spoke with a manager, Beth Douglas, to share my concerns. From the beginning, she labeled me as "agitated" and "difficult," which was both unprofessional and dismissive. I was not even offered a seat during the conversation while both she and the maintenance manager remained seated, which made the interaction feel uncomfortable and disrespectful. Instead of addressing the issue, I was told to consider finding another gym. After informing them that I was recording the conversation (due to being labeled unfairly), my membership was terminated. I also attempted to contact corporate to escalate these concerns but was unsuccessful. After reading other reviews, it appears that similar complaints about management and staff behavior have been raised by others, with little to no action taken. It is disappointing that a gym at this price point fails to provide not only consistent access to amenities but also basic customer respect. A gym should be a welcoming place that supports well-being and stress relief, not one that creates additional frustration. I cannot recommend this location based on my experience.

The grounds are amazing--surrounded by trees and rolling hills, with a vineyard nearby that really adds to the atmosphere. On a nice day, it definitely gets busy--almost every picnic table was taken when we visited--but there was still plenty of seating inside and on the patio. They had a food truck on site, and you can also order charcuterie platters at the counter. I liked that you can bring your own picnic too (just no outside alcohol). They are also dog-friendly! I was a little surprised to see so many kids, but thankfully parents were keeping a close eye on them, so it didn't take away from the experience. There's a solid selection of wines available by the bottle or as tasting flights, so it's easy to find something you like. Tastings at the bar with a wine educator are a nice touch, though they can be a bit limited if the place is really crowded. The only downside was that they seemed a bit short-staffed during, so tables weren't cleared as quickly as they could be. That said, there are plenty of trash cans and bottle bins around, so it's easy enough to help keep things tidy. Overall, a great place to unwind with friends, enjoy some wine, and soak in the scenery--just be prepared for crowds on nice days!
