Simply there is no observable management supervision of this part of the facility. I wish there were a true stretching area. The closet size space is simply inadequate. The stretch pad provided by the gym is at least 18 months old, soiled and disintegrating. They have a small room adjacent to the the larger gym area that could be used, but is currently off limits and partially used for storage. They have plenty of machines. Lots. They are reasonably well maintained. Some of the equipment and hand weights in the free weight area are RUSTY. The current benches are worn and should be replaced. All the negatives aside I really like this place. Is is very clean. The very small staff is quite friendly, but appatrently powerless to implement change. I have always had plenty of room to work on occasion I have been the only person exercising for extended periods of time.There are so few people using the fitness area I fear it will be closed. The few trainers-two of which I have used-are knowledgable, friendly and encouraging. They have access to a completly separate set of "Trainers Only" equipment that by observation is well maintained. You…read morewouldn't know it's there as it is tucked away between a school, office buildings and a neighborhood. The best way to access the park is from Jermantown Road. There is plenty of parking space in the lot. The park has a single tennis court, open field, picnic pavilion, volleyball court, swing set, playground, a community garden and a shaded walking/running trail. The park is kept fairly clean and I've never seen it get too busy. I mainly use this park to run/walk on my lunch break during the work week. The trail is a simple wooded figure eight trail that is about a third of a mile in length. It has a fine gravel with a very flat grade so it's an ideal trail for a walk or run. Throughout the trail are various benches to sit on. The playground is nice and large, plus there is a swing set nearby. Both have standard mulch around them. The tennis and volleyball courts are in good condition, although there is only one of each. There is a community garden that people can pay for plots to grow their own veggies, herbs and plants. The garden does have a limit so make sure you reserve it in advance. Parking in the Pommeroy lot is problematic and tiny. Side street parking is almost non-existent due to code enforcement. The meter maid will get you for parking too close to stop signs, mailboxes, driveways and fire-hydrants. It's like they circle this park. The bigger parking lot is off of Gainsborough and is also were they host music in the park during the summer.
