Overcooked Pizza! Couldn't do anything about it because by the time I got it they were closed...if it's not cheesy it's not pizza!

The stromboli was a fantastic choice, and I'll definitely be ordering it again. Also the gyro bowl is worth it.

Best. Pizza. Ever. The salad dressing is amazing too!! I…read moredon't usually eat "Detroit style" but I crave this pizza. They need better, friendlier WS for sure. And a better parking lot AF though.

Louis is the best Detroit style pizza in Metro Detroit…read more The crust is soft and doughy in the best way possible but still retains a nice crunch on the edge, the amount of cheese is generous, and the toppings are almost marinaded in the deliciously sweet pizza sauce. The result is a mouthwatering pie-like pizza that you're not getting anywhere else. If you want a lot of topping options, Louis isn't for you, it's far more limited than competitors, but I would argue they perfect the basics. The interior is charming in a straight out of the 1970s sort of way. The dining area can get pretty loud but the noise level is friendly and it's great being in a full restaurant surrounded by other people having a good time. There's a strong community feeling you don't get in sterile, corporate chains or local takeout spots. Despite my overwhelming praise for the pizzas they make, I also have to be honest. In the most charitable way possible, I hope that they can take some of their much deserved recent success and reinvest it back into the business because the front of house staff is regularly in over their heads. You can safely add 15 minutes to whatever time they quote you when placing your order. I had one order that was close to 30 minutes late and another that was missing all the extra sauces. As a result, pickup orders are very frustrating. The other criticism I have is that the parking lot is very crowded and routinely spills out into the surrounding streets. The lot size is limited, so not much they can do but they could work with the city to repave the lot and color label certain areas. I hope more people check out Louis. It is a gem.

Sorrento Pizza, located in warren on 9 mile road…read more Had a hankering for pizza for days, however due to the schedule I was keeping, everyone seemed to be closed when I was ready for dinner. Tonight I made it a point to leave the job at a decent hour so I could grab a pizza and kill the craving. I chose Sorrento based on Yelp reviews and when ordering discovered that apparently I had gotten a pizza from this location a year prior. I went in for pickup as they won't deliver to the area that I stay due to; dare I say it, high crime. While the area is sketchy, and I don't blame them for staying away, I have never had an issue there. Regardless, I placed a phone order and started my 30 mile drive to grab the pie and go to the house. When I arrived; the pie was waiting; and it was hot and ready to go. I threw it in the car and embarked on my 2 mile drive back to the base. When I arrived at the house, it was still warm and I brought it inside and began to devour it. The pizza was very good. Doughy crust, delicious toppings, and ample cheese and sauce. I won't lie, I ate almost an entire large by myself. I've friend several pies while in the detroit area, pizza papalis is a fave, but I don't always have time for that drive. And that's a huge deep dish Chicago style pie. Sorrento hit the spot and will be a staple for years to come now that I know the location and have tried the pizza. The staff was friendly when I picked up and the quality was very good.

This was my first time having Detroit-style pizza in Detroit, and Buddy's absolutely lived up to the hype. Without question, it's the best Detroit-style pizza I've ever had. Every bite was like an explosion of cheesy, crispy, comforting goodness. The crust was perfectly soft and airy on the inside with those incredible caramelized cheese edges that gave every bite an amazing crunch. Just a heads-up, this isn't fast food. Since it's a thick pan pizza made fresh, expect to wait a little longer, but it's 100% worth every minute. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant, which made the experience even better. I also had my first Michigan Mule, and it did not disappoint! From the outside, it wasn't immediately obvious where to enter, but once inside, I was blown away. The walls are packed with decades of memorabilia, articles, awards, murals, and the story of how Detroit-style pizza was born. It felt like eating in a piece of pizza history, not just another restaurant. As someone who has eaten Detroit-style pizza back home, I can already tell every future slice will be measured against Buddy's, and that's a tough standard to beat. If you want authentic Detroit-style pizza from the place that started it all, this is a must-visit. Thank you, Buddy's, for an unforgettable meal. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Detroit!

I had plenty of questions about their pizza, like how many slices were in their square or round pizzas. He answered my questions and was not upset at all. We ordered a large square pizza with two kinds of pepperoni, a large antipasto salad, and an order of lasagna. The pizza was like eating pizza when we were kids in the 1970s. It had plenty of cheese; we didn't have to order extra! The crust was fluffy and not like a brick. The pizza sauce was perfect! It is a little sweet to counteract the natural acidic bite of the tomato. This complements the cheese and the pepperoni perfectly. The two-pepperoni combination is the best of both worlds. I love the cupped pepperoni, also old school, with the little pool of grease in the middle. The flat pepperoni is a little milder but still good. The salad was perfect. It was loaded with meat and cheese. I love the homemade Italian dressing on the side. It reminded me of the salads I made in the Italian bakery I worked at. The lasagna was one of the best I have ever eaten. It has a rich meat sauce, is stuffed with ricotta cheese, and layered between perfectly cooked lasagna noodles. It is covered with mozzarella cheese and more meat sauce. It came out of the oven lightly browned and bubbling. It comes with a breadstick too, to sop up all the leftover meat sauce. It was so filling I only ate half of it. We have ordered multiple times since then, both pick up and delivery. Ron and George are always friendly on the phone or in person. The delivery guy is super friendly and always makes sure to get our pizza to us hot! Try Anthony's Pizza once, and you will find out why it is the #1 rated pizza place in Warren, Michigan.
