They have Fun Bike Nights here, but I could not get tires installed on my Buell. New Tires for my 2008 Buell Ulysess in 2025 In March I got a Text from Motown Harley Davidson in Taylor MI. They offered $60.00 Rebate on two Dunlop Tires if I purchased Installation too. I am guessing that Rebate would come from Dunlop, thus who did the Installation should have been irrelevant. I wrote an e-mail to Motown with the tire size and model of Dunlop tires that I wanted. I never got a replay. After a month I called Motown. They put me on hold for a bit, then they told me that they don't work on Buell's. The other day I watched a Video from Bert's Barracuda; Meet Bert King From Texas | The Uncle Daddy Show Bert's Motor Company You Tube Channel. What I know about Bert's I know from the "Shade Tree Surgeon" youtube channel. Ralph/Uncle Daddy said to call Belt Buckle Betty if you need parts or service, if I can recall correctly. I chose to make an inquiry via their Web site about Tires for my Buell. I have plans to visit FL for the Forgotten Angles Camp Out. I just checked that is in October. Within 1/2 hour I had gotten three phone calls from Bert's. The Second call from a parts guy with the price for the tires plus Installation Labor, Shop Fee and Sales Tax. I had told the first gal who contacted me about Motown HD telling me that they don't work on Buell's. The third call was from John Dempsy. There was some confusion thinking that one of Bert's Locations had told me that they did not work on Buell's. That never happened, only the Dealer in Michigan told me that. Took the Beginner MSF course here with Brian, James, and Tommy. They were excellent instructors and coaches. I felt like their goal was to make the course as fun, enjoyable, and educational as possible. And they sure came through with all of those! The entire time you feel like they're in your corner making sure you understand everything but they don't ever let you take it too seriously, to the point where you're not having fun or learning. They did an outstanding job and taught our whole class very well. A big thank you to Dave the Fit Specialist and Aleaha from the Motor Clothes department, as well. Dave really gave me the VIP tour of the whole dealership, walked me through how the course would go, and wasn't pushy about anything. A genuine experience from him. $5,000 - $10,000 mark up on MSRP will buy you the worst experience from any dealership. Treat you like family when you're new. Once you sign the contract the family becomes dis functional. I've never met a satisfied customer. They use bate and switch tactics during the sales transaction. With such a great inventory it's easy to get caught up. Service is where most people, including myself, get the rude awakening of being coned. Please just go to Motor City, Wolverine, or Arsenal Harley. Hello. I am contacting you concerning my recent experience with Motown Harley Davidson. In late February I purchased a 2013 Switchback from Motown. The bike was missing the factory bags. Part of the purchase agreement was that the dealership would purchase a set of bags for the bike. I am forwarding you a copy of a text message that I sent to my salesperson on Friday(04/03/2025) Good morning Bryan. From Sunday to Wednesday and still no bike. I have nothing against you Bryan, you can only do what the dealership allows you to do, But I am done with Motown Harley Davidson. My customer service experience sucks. I called the service department on 4/24/25, and was informed that the new locks for the bags are in, and that the technician working on the bike was off for the day and would be back on the 25th, and that the bike would be ready then. Fast forward to 4/01/25 and still no bike. If there's a problem with the bike, then put me on another bike. The blue Switchback that I originally came to see is still available. I pray that something happens today, or I am going to post this text on Motown facebook page and anywhere else that I can think of. Thank you Bro for your help and you have a blessed day! I visited the dealership today (4/3/25) to pick up the motorcycle and I am not pleased with the results. A set of touring saddlebags was installed with a set of brackets that caused the bags to stand out away from the frame. The bags are bolted to the brackets which will require a tool to remove them, exposing the mounting brackets which will also require a tool to remove, thus defeating the purpose of quick detachment. The top cover for the shock mount was removed and the top of the shock was spaced out away from the frame to provide clearance for the bag mount. When I tried to address my concerns to the general manager, he became argumentative accusing me of not paying for the bags anyway. When I turned to walk away, he yelled after me that it is my bike now and he didn't care what I did with it. I could stick it in truck or I could stick it up my ass, he didn't care what I did with it. He then told me not to come back on to the property. I responded back to him to stick it in his mother's ass. Now here's where I'm conflicted. I turned my life over to God in 1989. I consider myself a spiritual person with a very strong belief in the Lord. Now because of my response to his outburst, I now have to repent to God for my actions. I was a department manager for a nonprofit for 23 years and the one thing that I instilled into my employees was that-no matter how belligerent a client becomes, you do not allow yourself to be become belligerent and disrespectful. This is something your GM should learn. The bottom line is that he screwed up. He made a commitment that could not be honored. And instead of reaching out to me to try to resolve the situation, he instead proceeded to install bags not made for the bike and tells me that I have no say in the matter, take it or leave it. When I had expressed my displeasure with the service manager, he informed me that he followed the instructions that he was given. When I left the dealership, the motorcycle was moved out of the service area into a back fenced area off of the service department and that is where I left the bike. All I want is my Switchback with the correct bags on it or refund my money back and you keep the bike. read more

Filled out a $500-off online coupon that was really a customer contact form. I was okay with it for $500 off. Saleswoman contacted me. I told her about the bike I was interested in. "Ohhhhhhh, the $500 coupon doesn't apply to THAT bike because it's already deeply discounted." Right. I have a suspicion it applies to ALL bikes. It is fraudulent to state you will get $500 off ANY bike then not honor the coupon. I asked her to email me the out-the-door price including sales tax, title, tag, document fee, and prep fee. She said her manager doesn't like to use email. Really? I said again that I need the out-the-door quote by email and again she gave me the same response. Got an email from her later that day saying she looks forward to me test driving the bike and then sitting in finance to work up the numbers. I'm 60 years old. I know they want me to come in and look at the bike, test drive it, fall in love with it, then hit me with outrageous prep and document fees. You just blew a sale, Motown. The 1970s called and said they want their shady sales tactics back. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! THIS PLACE TIRED TO KILL ME!!! So let's starts from the very beginning. I want everyone to take an entire note on how disgraceful this establishment is. I find a used harley on their website with a lot potential and a good price. So I file out the online information sales guy calls we run the usual numbers blah blah blah. Well to add this a decompression police bike so I ask a few questions about it dose it have cruise control ? What separates this bike from the rest? Confirming the bike doesn't have cruise control can you add cruise control. Sales puts me on hold speaks to parts and service comes back confirmed it can be done which I already ones you have to build a new harness run it from ecu and flash it to activate. So here where it gets juicy. I say hey what if I add handle bars and have you guys do the cruise control since the bars already have to come of the bike they sure since the bars will already be off. Im like sweet.. let's do it ! I put a cash deposit down over the phone so it's not sold from under me and schedule an appointment to come in on the weekend and finish the deal. I come in at said time. I get shoved aside waited damn near five hours before anyone would talk to me. I went on the tour priced everything out and no point was the cruise control an issue.. i wanted to see the bike but for some reason knowing I was coming in they had it in the bike for service taken apart due to a fuel leak they found out during their inspection.. KEY WORD INSPECTION!! MEANING THIS BIKE SHOULD BE SAFE USED OR NOT! I finish the deal the bikes mine. I wait a few weeks. I get a call sir your bikes done. I say hey Trent you mind just confirming over the phone what was done to it he says sure hold on yep we did you bars lines, cables, grips, bushings. I say hey what about my cruise control. Um sir you never paid for cruise control. I explain the entire reason for all of this was because of the cruise control. He continues to argue with me. I'm like bro just stop put some one else on the phone because I know I made it clear this bike was getting the job that a paid for. We hash it out blah blah blah! 3 months later! After back in fourth parts are in. sike just kidding parts aren't here lied to my face over the phone and in person. I finally get a call sir your bikes done it's being washed and detailed. Remember that part. I say bet screw delivery I'm using a sick day and I'm coming done personally. I take procession I begin driving home. Remember the "inspection" part? HERE IT GOES! I get going down the road I get the radio to work I'm like maybe it's just cheapy I got one at the house any ways. Well I take off at the light and try to get on it. The clutch adjustment is off! Remind you new bars! new cables! I have to pull the clutch handle completely back to the grip in order to engage the clutch you can't two finger it like they teach you in the their own class.. I'm like ok I'll fix it at.. then I hit a pot and the radio falls in my lap.. turns out it was hot glued in place so I pull over.. duct tape the damn thing to the fairing. Now im aggravated. So get on the freeway n I just want to get home. HERES WHERE THEY TRIED TO KILL ME! PAY ATTENTION!!! THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!! YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER!! ‼ I rolling at highway speed just cruising I make it through Detroit I hit a Pot hole AND THE HANDLE BARS THEY INSTALLED FALL IN MY LAP!!!! I REPEAT THE BARS FELL IN MY LAP!!!! So here I am struggling do everything I can not to hit the pavement and get the bike to complete stop.. I full fledged myself and still thankful my angels can kept up with me when I ride because this LIFE OR DEATH!!! I phone a friend trailer the bike the rest of the way home at the point Im at a lost of words. I try to get a hold of the general manger it's been a week no calls back no nothing.. so I call my lawyer at this point and he's just foaming at the mouth over this.. can't wait to see the turn out. I go through the bike. Now of the bolts that were removed or put back on were torqued down no loctite nothing barley any more then finger tight. The wire job was worse then a back yard job mechanic.. need to remind I paid several thousands of dollars to a dealership who we should all trust and get a quality service. See pictures for proof of my claim so you know this isn't a tall tale you'll see the bolts that clamp the handle bars down didn't have a drop of loctite brand freshly installed. I took my weekend endorsement training here. We had classroom Friday evening, Saturday morning we were already riding in the back lot and feet up by 9 AM. Sunday was more classroom training. I was in a class with about 20 other students. Our teachers or trainers were police officers in the Deerborn area. They taught us proper writing and safety precautions. They also showed us how to lift the bike ourselves if it tips over on one side, The proper weight and using the weight of the bike and not overexerting ourselves. We were all a group of professionals and quite an eclectic mix of people. It was some of the best training that I could've ever hoped for. I was much better prepared for taking the actual test as a result. They let us take some commemorative photos, just for fun. My husband bought a Dyna from here. The service is stellar and maintenance is great. I was going to buy a sportster, but I couldn't write it flat-footed. They definitely take care of you from beginning to end and throughout. read more

Matt was very friendly and gave us a tour of the facility, he showed us all the bikes and the warehouse where the actual class will be taking place along where we will do the actual bike riding. He explained in detail all the specific gear and items we will need at the start of class. We tried on the different types of helmets and Heihla was excellent, she measured us and gave us a quickly class on the different types of helmets and which ones would be a better fit for us. Initially I was not happy with my experience. I was contacted by their online team explaining the bike I was looking for was in stock and in the used bike warehouse. After looking and looking unsuccessfully we finally called the sales department only to find out that the bike was actually sold 2 days prior and the inventory was not updated. I drove 1.5 hours to get to the dealership. I complained a bit and was spoken to by the sales manager. He promised to make things right, which he did.
