This shop and roastery is owned by a guy who knows and is passionate about coffee and roasting, and is happy to interact with customers in the shop. He's got a small library of videos on YouTube on a variety of topics that are of interest to home enthusiasts as well as professionals. But how's the coffee? I dropped in for an espresso and a cortado, followed by a bag to take home. All of the products were based on their house blend, Ember Espresso. It's promoted as a "well developed medium roast", and I'd agree with that assessment. It promises notes of chocolate and caramel, with a smooth body, and hints of dark berries. Both drinks in the cafe (particularly the espresso) delivered in all point. The berry notes appeared towards the end, almost like a sweet farewell as the shot went by. My home shots from the bag (brewed on a Decent Espresso DE1) were very similar, with intense chocolate and that slight berry "punch", and went fantastic in milk drinks. The cafe itself is well appointed and inviting, and can accommodate a pretty good crowd. Parking can be a little tricky, but that's not their fault. Nothing a little walk won't fix. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there's a good selection of beans to go along with a nicely appointed menu of drinks. The quality of beans and drinks here could almost make it a destination for true coffee enthusiasts; I'm fortunate that it's only about 20 minutes from my home, so it's a no-brainer. Definitely worth the side quest if you're making the trip up US 75 towards Oklahoma or back.

It can get pretty loud since a lot of guests come to chat with friends and family, but putting on my AirPods helped me focus and enjoy my time there. The only downside was the cashier experience. She seemed more busy chatting with her coworker and wasn't very friendly. Another staff member was the one who asked me if I need help with the menu. After I paid, the cashier didn't even ask if I needed a receipt and just walked away. Overall, I still enjoyed the coffee and atmosphere. If the customer service were friendlier, this place would easily be a 5-star spot for me.

In addition to our single origin offerings, we only roast small batches. Small batch roasting allows us to keep control of our quality and contain our bean loss in the event that one of our roasts does not produce according to our standards. Because we only roast single origins and in small lots our sales model is based on a limited amount of finished product being available for purchase. Once it is roasted, and all of it is sold we move on to our next single origin product. This system allows us to keep our product waste to a minimum; our cost lower, and provides our customers with unique and fresh coffee. What Makes Us Different from Large Retail Roasters: As with any type of produce, coffee crops have cycles. These cycles are what allow us to obtain different coffee's at different times of the year, which means we can offer coffee's to our customers that large retailers cannot. The "Big Boys" order millions of pounds of the same coffee every year from massive "Estate" coffee plantations. Smaller coffee farms that offer rare and interesting coffees are skipped over because they cannot produce enough beans to satisfy the demand of large roasters. This means that Kings Koffee can purchase these smaller farmers product and offer a unique creation to our customers...

You order at the front and they bring it out. I had a roasted chicken quinoa bowl, with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, arugula, feta, and their signature lemon basil dressing! I ordered a side of avocado lime dressing, and had a green tea with lavender (unsweetened), and added stevia. The only thing is that the staff kinda doesn't say much. The girl who rang me up didn't know what the dressing was on the bowl, seemed to not know the menu well, and was friendly enough, but just needed more training or something. I'm a foodie so- I studied the menu beforehand. I used to own a 4 star in Louisiana. I knew every aspect of menu. I overtipped her up front. She brought the food but didn't check on me. I had to ask for things. I really didn't care because I love to eat in peace. But they weren't busy enough to be so.... I don't know... a little snooty? They spoke a lot to each other. The food was made where you could see it. All sustainable, farm to table, organic, etc... when I left, I asked for a to go container. Another girl brought it while the main girl was sweeping all around me (kind of a no no). The other girl was cute and more friendly. Seemed comfortable. I even was going to buy a tin of their tea but it wasn't marked. I asked the main girl how much it was. She said she would check, kept sweeping and doing her side work, and didn't come tell me the price until I was leaving (a sale lost). It's my 3rd time there and the staff is always kinda like that... almost as of they expect you to know the menu yourself. But when I left, one of the chefs opened the door and walked out with me. He was super nice. I guess it's hit and miss with the service but they do deliver it in a timely manner and it's super fresh. I just never let any of my servers hit the floor or greet a guest unless they could describe each dish with such detail that your mouth watered. I upsold. I checked on people and so did my staff. We asked questions and got to know our guests. But all in all this place I HIGHLY. recommend!!!!!!

If Lettuce Indulge was in my hometown, it would be my number one hangout coffee shop. They specialize in very high quality straight up coffee, their own self-invented elaborate coffee drinks - and healthy main dishes. I did a straight up espresso and a chicken and good-for-you-stuff bowl. The straight up espresso was so good - I went for a second about twenty minutes later. I don't have a coffee taster's vocabulary - But this was a non-burnt, non-heavy, complicated, intriguing brew. It was not like any coffee I had had in a long time. * * * The chicken bowl beat the stupid stuff Starbucks sells you for lunch easily. My home coffee shops vary in the quality of their kitchens. There are some sandwiches and salads to die for. There is also a lot of mediocre stuff that makes Starbucks lunch look good. If my chicken bowl had been rated on an Austin scale from 1 to 10, It would have been a solid 8. I would be happy to eat that over and over and over again. * * * The room is fine. The folks who work there are super super friendly and super super nice. * * * The establishment closes on Sundays ... So I am going to guess that one of the owners or maybe a huge percentage of the staff are dedicated Christians. There is a lot of idealism in the craftsmanship that goes into the coffee. Same for the idealism that goes into the food. Plus the room has a very healthy vibe. There is a lot of virtue in this establishment. Virtue is a good thing.

The names of the food items are classic, and I can't wait to come back next time and try some of the food such as Manic Monday (egg, meat and cheese) or Down with the Swiss-ness (Ham and Cheese on a Croissant). For my personal experience today, I was looking for fresh beans. I first noticed TexKona, this is a roaster and they had great reviews and what looks to be great beans. The hours were limited, but I was lucky to see that TexaKona FM 107 Drinks and Cafe had a lot of the really cool beans from TexaKona. I walk in and the place is located in a large building. There are lots of other quaint shops, and this coffee shop looks really cool and has a great feel. The young lady behind the counter greeted me with a smile. I told her I was looking for beans and she began explaining the different beans they have there. She even offered to make shots so I can sample the beans. While I didn't take her up on trying shots, I did take her advice on what beans to buy, and for my first trip, I purchased two bags of Journalist Blend. I'll sit on these beans for 2-3 days since I'm just now finishing my last bag of existing coffee, but I look forward to dialing in these beans. Back to TexaKona. The place is clean, very cool look, and they provide incredible service. I will return, and I will bring the wife!
