We even made a little joke that it was "surgery" and as I held the flashlight he would ask for the "scalpel" aka the plug ahaha Once he replaced the left bulb, he helped walk me through how to replace the right one myself. Last Saturday, 5/23/2020 I took a dead Optima battery to the Autozone on Thornydale in Marana. I…read morehave replaced many batteries over the years and have always been reluctant to take a battery to an auto parts store for evaluation. My thoughts were, "They sell batteries. They will tell me my battery is bad. Then sell me one of their batteries." Was I pleasantly surprised! I walked in and was greeted immediately. In minutes the manager (I assumed because he was so knowledgable) evaluated the battery and told me it should recharge. He then told me that if it did not recharge Autozone did not offer the Optima style battery. The Optima battery for my car is 6 volt and half the size of a normal car battery. He then proceeded to tell me of two places that offer the size battery I would need to replace the existing. This experience has changed my view of asking for help at an auto parts store. I will choose Autozone as my first choice when selecting an auto parts store.

Thought I'd stop by to get a scan from them and buy a scanner for myself. Walked in and there were two young employees, one male, one female, both hiding behind cash registers looking down engrossed in whatever they were pecking away at on their cell phones. No adult supervision in sight. The girl never even looked up the entire time I was in the store. Even when other customers came in. I asked the other employee if the computer could throw a code and not have a check engine light. He replied with "is your check engine light on?" I thought my question would have precluded his but I said no anyway. After several more questions that were irrelevant, he said he didn't know if there could be a code without a light. He asked if i wanted a scan and I said yes, then he looked like he realized that would take him away from his important cell phone activities and said "I don't think there would be a code without a light", contradicting his first answer. Obviously he didn't want to be bothered with work. So I told him to forget it. I had absolutely no confidence he could scan properly anyway and left. Now I know why the parking lot was almost empty when I drove up.

After she sold me the part I would need i proceeded to another establishment that I thought would help me put it in and be on my way. Well that didn't happen, they could not take my car in and was told I needed to use their parts at 3 times the price. Long story short, I went back to Autozone to return the part, when explaining to Jody what was said and the price she on her own started calling auto shops for me that could get me on the road again. She sent me to Jack Furrier and told me who to deal with. This experience could have been very different if not for a very kind and helpful guidance from Jody. I recommend this Autozone in Oro Valley, Az if you are in need of any auto parts.
