BUYER BEWARE! Went to Mainline several weeks ago to purchase…read morecarpet. Was showen a boat while there. Boat was being sold without motor. Had made a cash plus second amendment offer. After Colton made a call, no agreement was made as he said the Second Amendment offer was junk. Fast forward to yesterday. Went to make an offer if the boat was still there. Colton was firm on his price. Asked him if my motor would fit this boat? He said he would have to find out and give me a call. Today, I went to Mainline to give Colton what he wanted for the boat even though he had never called me back to let me know if my motor would fit. (I had come home last night and done my own research. I was informed that all motors have the same bolt pattern, and they are all interchangeable. Something Coloton must have already known since he owns a boat repair shop that does this all the time.) Upon arrival, Colton informs me that he had taken a deposit on the boat yesterday. When I told him I was there to give him what he wanted, the deal was on. I gave him the money, my id, and we started doing paperwork. An emoloyee was sent to get the boat ready for me to take. 5 minutes later... Colton asks if I had the Second Amendment offer to add. I told him no, I gave you the cash you wanted. I thought about bringing him the Second Amendment offer for a brief moment, then decided it just wasn't right for Colton to change the deal now. The deal was off. At this point, several employees (Family members) came in to back him up. None of them had ever been around for any of our conversations. Oddly, by the time I got home, they had put a working motor on the boat and sold it for nearly $8000 more than our agreement. Just more lies. If you decide to do business here, make sure to bring a witness with you. His Family will say they were there when they were not, and Colton could go back in his word.

They wanted to charge $200 just to drop the lower unit (took me 15 minutes to unbolt the lower unit and remove the clog with compressed air). The front office guy was rude about the whole situation. Ended up spending $800 to have the gaskets and float replaced and no running motor. Took the boat to another mechanic and he said Moxie didn't use a carb repair kit, which includes the needles, just a gasket kit. I understand that it is an older motor, but they should say they don't have the expertise to properly diagnose and repair the issue. I do not recommend Moxie Marine, especially for older motors. Poor customer service, over priced, and endless repair bill.

They had boat for a week, replaced our starter & slave solenoid, cost roughly $600 for repairs. Picked up boat & went straight to Patagonia Lake. Started up, ran fine until we left no-wake zone & gave some throttle, then died stranding us on lake again! Called Moxy's from lake & they said it had run fine for them & we would need to bring it back in. Took us awhile to ROW back into marina & we are an hour from Tucson. It was 2:10pm, they close at 3pm, so I called to make sure they would wait for us. Nope, we were told they would be gone! Really man, couldn't wait an extra 10-15 mins for us to bring back a boat with the exact same issue you just "fixed"?

Never, never, never take your boat here. I bought my boat from Oasis years ago and they did all the…read morerepairs and maintenance on it since purchase. Until recently. Although I'd had some problems with minor damage to my boat while in their care (such as a broken bracket and damage to my trailer so I could no longer attach the wheel to the crank base), last summer was the show stopper. When I went to get my boat, I saw a piece of my orange sidelamp on the step of the trailer. The sidelamp was smashed. I found the other pieces of the lamp nearby. I said "what happened here?" "That was like that when it came in," the mechanic replied. "How come I found all the pieces here on the mud? How could this piece of plastic survive a 12 mile drive sitting on an open step.?'" Long and short, they apologized and said they would order another light which I could install. "It's easy," he said. Hum, sounds like the job for the the guy that broke the light, but I let it go. It has been has been 6 months. No light. They did replace a broken bimini bracket which also I noticed, after first denying it was broken. I decided to pay my bill, $575 for an oil change, new water pump, and a new blower fan. Ouch. By the way, I had just paid another $500 bill for plugs and wires. This semed high so I wanted to look at the bill, but no receipt. "Sorry, our printing isn't working, but we can send you one later." Gave them my fax number. 6 months have passed without a bill, despite calls to them. Voice mail only, of course. After going straight home, and having the boat parked on my seceded rural multi acre lot for a couple days, I noticed a large gouge several feet down the bumper. Fresh chunks of rubber exposed, and a gouge as clean as a whistle. No dust, dirt or aging. I called Oasis. "Nothing could do that here, must have been someone at your place. " "I'll have to train my mecahnic to note this damages when it comes in here," the owner scoffed. Well nothing could have done it at my place in the place it was parked between bushes where there is no passage and no traffic. When I went back to Oasis, I found plenty of places where boats could be damaged as they are moved from place to place, such as the garage door brackets where boats are backed in. And guess what? While I was there, I saw the mechanic crash a boat and trailer into another boat trailer. It gets better. A few more days later, I was on the lake with my quiet new blower fan. As the day passed, the blower fan got louder and louder. By our second day on the lake, my new fan was as bad as the one that was replaced. I called. Voice mail, of course. Six months later, no light, no invoice, and no call back.

I'm very satisfied with the work that was done And I recommended them to a friend that needed routine maintenance and minor hull repair. He's just as happy as I am with their work. They have gained a loyal customer. Thanks guys!!! Tom Vader
