First time here and they've made me a fan, looking forward to coming back a second time. It's close…read moreto both colleges, the service is attentive, friendly in a casual setting, you can see their giant orange ball of a wood fire oven and the pizzas, calzones comes out respectably fast enough so if you're hungry, you won't be much longer. The menu offered quite a few vegetarian friendly options which left me with way too many choices, but the tricolore did not disappoint. I was hungry but even if I wasn't I know this would've still be excellent. The tricolore comes with smoked mozzarella and pesto, two things I always wanted on a pizza but never could get as well as additional pine nuts! It wasn't too much or too little. You get a nut every couple of bites to remind you they're still there. Fresh cherry tomatoes and delicious sauce. The crust is baked to a crispy perfection. The Napoli calzone was new to me with the cheesy topping, it was the sandwich pizza you'd always wanted, the size is big but very attainable. Plenty of free parking in the back if you come at the right time. And Italian dessert options if you're craving for more after!

Don't come back Christine. I dont even like pizza and i…read morebrought my mom and aunt here bc a friend took me here once and i enjoyed it. But this time alot of the bottom of the pizza was burnt on the bottom and owner said it's normal. Burnt bread doesnt taste good imo. Good thing it was just half of both pizzas and good thing our initial 1st pcs were ok, except for my mom who i saw later was tearing the bottom off bc she can taste the bitter burnt part. Then ofc she got another slice and it was just too much for her to tear off. So I'm not the type to just not say anything bc I come from restaurant/food and I would ofc let them know. But I think the owner doesn't take feedback positively. Burnt is burnt... it didn't look sooooo terrible but it tasted very bitter. But that's ok... sometimes Ego gets us. Then I told my sis and she said "didn't that happen last time"... so then I must make this review so I remind myself not to go back and waste my time, meal and money. Took the leftovers to pick the toppings off and have with crostini at home. Also didn't get any refills on our soda and my mom was annoyed about that. Guess she wanted another sip and she's bitter after all the bitterness she had for dinner. Haha

This is another secret gem in Downtown Fullerton. You can enter from the back or the front doors. I…read morereserved the semi-private section facing Commonwealth. I got the idea from a beloved colleague who had her going away party last year here. You can wear super casual clothes bc the vibes are low-key and relaxed. We had a party of about 17 + in our adults only for happy hour reserved for 4:15 - 7 PM to celebrate the launch of our 2nd year together. We ordered a variety of apps and pizza flavors. For apps, the zucchini fries with ranch dressing were BOMB! Our group also enjoyed the lemon pepper and teriyaki wings, tossed just right, not too saucy. Let's talk about their pizzas and pies: deep dish pepperoni, vegetarian, margherita cheese, pepperoni (A+ curl on the pep), buffalo chicken, and the star finale, chicharrones topping - pizzas (ALL in Extra Large) and as the came in, the waitresses and water brought it out piping hot! The cheese pull was real and long, the sauce was even, and the dough wasn't too chewy or too thick, just right. The person on the phone reserving and taking my order before we even arrived, was super nice to me. When we got there, people can order the own items at the register. The servers are super friendly and their HH "refills" kept coming. The ambiance is SUPER CHILL and loud. Games on TV screens, air hockey for those who don't like to talk to who is there, but just play. I'm glad small businesses like these still exist in NOC.

My family and I are no strangers to the Bowery. Such a fun place to go when you want a pizza and…read morebeer...or if you're like us, coming to karaoke nights or listening to live music during the Day of Music festival! But what I really wanted to share was that we FINALLY tried the Detroit Style deep dish pizza and wow. Such a great looking and great tasting pizza. Since it was a deep dish pizza it did take some time for the pizza to come out. But in the meantime, you can play some games such as air hockey or pinball, or just have beer and enjoy the offerings of the Bowery. I promise, the wait will be worth it! Looking forward to the next time we order it!
