After finally getting him to return my call, I was told, at the last minute, that our project was being pushed back FIVE WEEKS, with no reasonable explanation. I later learned that additional work had been taken on and our previously contracted project had been bumped. Cody then gave us a new start date. When I simply asked him to confirm that he would honor the new date, he once again stopped responding. After several more attempts to reach him, he finally called me back; not to confirm the job, but to CANCEL OUR CONTRACT entirely. This is completely unacceptable business behavior, particularly in a mountain community where the construction season is limited and finding qualified contractors after major storm damage can be extremely difficult. We relied on his signed contract and scheduled start date for months, only to be pushed aside and ultimately left scrambling to find another roofer before winter. Extremely poor communication, unreliable scheduling, and very unprofessional treatment of a customer. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Matison Roofing.

A rare experience with a contractor! We were pursuing multiple bids for a roof replacement at our…read morecabin. We had several bids that were comparable in price and products. Our last bid, from a reputable area contractor, revealed a more significant (and costly) issue with the lack of underlayment that had not been detected in any other bid. Epperlys (Ash) had given us an original bid and we had been impressed with his prompt communication; coincidentally he called in follow-up and stated that he had a cancellation the following week to replace the roof. However, we told Ash about the last bid's discovery regarding the underlayment issue. Ash said that the contractor who gave us that information is very reputable and based on that he would need to go back out to our cabin to reevaluate the Epperly bid. We all agreed we didn't want any surprises. Ash confirmed that we did indeed need to add 1/2" OSB over existing material and then reroof entire roof. He reworked the bid and was able to provide an estimate that was fair and acceptable. He replaced the roof that week. Additionally, he made a color recommendation (sage) that was not what we had in mind but trusted his eye and experience and went with it. It's beautiful! Ash's crew was on-time, hardworking and respectful, the job site was cleaned up daily, and all that was promised was delivered. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend Ash and crew.
