I booked a reservation and stayed for 1 week and a day. I booked another room and was treated like crap. I paid good money to stay here and that's how you treat your people. The front desk guy named Eylas was very rude and told me to stand in the hallway until 3 pm. He treated me like shit. Unacceptable behavior and I don't appreciate it for one second. I will not tolerate any disrespect what so ever. I will be contacting the corporate office or the census bureau. I have gave this establishment $. Never speak to me like ever if again. Dear Sir or Madam, I checked into this hotel on June 13. The front desk staff had difficulty processing my check-in, and it took an extended period of time for the employee to locate my reservation and issue my keys. When I arrived at my room, the door was stuck and would not open. The hallway had an unpleasant odor and appeared unclean. After several attempts to open the door, I returned to the front desk, where I was informed that the door had a known issue and frequently became stuck. I returned to the room and had to push firmly on the door to gain entry. Once inside, I found the room to be extremely hot because the air conditioner had been turned off. When I turned on the AC, a significant amount of dust came out of the vent and went directly into my throat. I then inspected the bed sheets and noticed several stains. They appeared dirty and poorly maintained. Upon further inspection, I found additional stains on other areas of the bedding. I also went into the bathroom and found that the towels were dirty, old, and worn. I attempted to remain for a short time, but the room felt so unclean and unhealthy that I decided to leave. I checked out within an hour and did not return. I would advise caution if you are considering staying at this hotel, as you may encounter similar issues and waste both your time and money. In addition, customer service was unresponsive, and I was repeatedly transferred and given different phone numbers, which was extremely frustrating and unhelpful. read more

Beautiful rooms, clean. Friendly staff, very attentive. Pet friendly. wonderful amenitie.

We were forced to stay the night here due to flight cancellations and rebooking. This was the only place that had a room available after midnight. We got a non-smoking room but it smelled like smoke. There was hair on the hand towels in the bathroom and on the faucet. The bathroom was disgusting and had a yellowish color to the tub. We tried to sleep for a couple hours and then checked out. read more

This location is disgusting! Booked a 4 night stay for my vacation at the "Studio 6" which is the same as the motel 6 and got there and it was disturbing! Smelled like stale smoke the front desk staff took 20 minutes to even get to me then my room key didn't work twice. The front desk person was going to go up with me the third time to try to get it to work, but the elevator wouldn't come the floor I was supposed to be staying on was under construction and the other guest staying here were loud and obnoxious. I left and went and stayed elsewhere the next day, I contacted them and the site I ordered the room through for possible refund for at least some of the days I was not there and they refused never stay at this place it is trash. Horrible service and a very unsafe location. I'm a 6'2 larger man and I felt so uncomfortable that I left in the middle of the night to stay else where! read more

Very unclean, paint needed desperately throughout the facility, check in was slow and after checking in with my ID the clerk in broken English said he needed to see my wife. When we check in to other hotels we never go through this. No coffee, no continental breakfast, not even a hair dryer, no amenities at all! First and last time we stay at a Motel 6!' Oh, and one more thing, we didn't get to sleep until after 2 AM because there was a family next to us that were completely oblivious that they were staying in a hotel. 2011. The Motel 6 sits just off an exit ramp from Interstate 95. The lady at the front desk hands me a key, then writes my room number on the receipt in a flawless hand. "Wow," I say, "you have really nice handwriting." She smiles. "I know. The manager is always asking me to write things." It cheers me up that the night auditor's longhand hasn't gone unappreciated, even here, at this warehouse of budget motel rooms. The window in my room overlooks the parking lot and a row of dying evergreen trees, each one an image of arboreal torment. Like those Renaissance portraits of saints depicted in their moment of martyrdom. St. Sebastian shot full of arrows. St. Ignatius being mauled by lions. I'm on the top floor, but since the freeway is elevated, I'm level with the traffic that rumbles endlessly down I-95. Part of me wishes the traffic would stop. But then again, that would mean something has gone wrong with the world. A fatal error. And whatever it might be, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it any better. So the traffic is fine. read more

I got robbed of a significantly expensive musical instrument covered with artwork of an unknowable but high value here. Best motel in dmv.. ive never had a problem always been kind to me a few days young lady was such a sweetheart checking me in

this place is absolutely terrible! the young man at the front desk told me and my fiancé that there was a $100 incidental hold on my card yet my card just kept getting declined due to insufficient funds and I called my bank and asked what was going on and they informed me that the young man at the front desk was adding additional charges that he did not tell us about so we went back to him and asked him about it and denied that. I spoke to two different people from my bank to make sure that there wasn't a mistake and they gave me the amount that he kept trying to charge which was almost $30 in addition to the $100. this young man also spoke super low when he even chose to speak and instead of asking for my ID he made a weird hand jesture and as he had my ID in his hand he kept picking up his personal cell phone and for all I know was putting my info in his phone. this place is beyond terrible and not worth the money and especially the customer service being as bad as it is! Also they have a sign out front stating that they are not responsible for any theft or damage against your vehicle! Ridiculous read more

Absolutely the cleanest rooms I've ever been in. The front desk agent Nathaniel was super fantastic. I've been staying here due to a heart condition and has several medical trips I had to make and the location was extremely convenient. The house keeper kennya was amazing as well, she always provided me with extra towels and made sure that my room was always clean upon my return from being out at the hospital. I'll be going home for two weeks to va heart institute, and will absolutely return in the near future as the rates and service are exception. Had to stay here because husbands job and all they guys booked here. I booked a room with a walk in shower cause I'm handicapped and have bad knees (batterie in my hip and wires up my spin) and I ended up with a tub I had to step into (was told all the bathrooms here was like that). they put us on the second floor and at the END of a extremely LONG hallway (we called it walking the green mile) with this in mind they ONLY have 1 elevator that works (but not leaving the second floor. we would have to take stairs down) I mentioned the elevator to the front desk and that's when the front desk started being rude. half the time our key cards didn't work and it is extremely hard on someone who can barely walk sometimes to keep going back and forth to the front desk (walking the green mile)... when I went to sit on bed the FIRST night, after traveling for hours, there were ants everywhere. On the bed and tables beside the bed. When I pulled back the blanket there were cigarette burns all over (non smoking room) guess they do this to say that you smoked in the room to get more money out of you. After about two day, the a/c AND heat went out in the room. when I told the front desk, I was informed they didn't have any other rooms available (mind you we had to stay longer then we thought so about two weeks with no air what so ever) when I went back to the room, I was told by maintenance that they had rooms available. guess it was me they didn't like. cause when I went down to pay for 6 MORE nights (after a week and a half so far stay) in the room from hell, I told the front desk woman I need the room till Tuesday morning (just so we are clear Tuesday and Saturday sound NOTHING alike and this was on a Thursday morning before 6 am) so imagine my surprise when housekeep walked all up into our room on Saturday (I'm not dressed) and said I haven't paid. After I got dressed I went down to speak to them about the matter, the SAME woman who did our extension was there and said she would handle it and even said my checkout date to me...I heard nothing else until our keys didn't work again later that evening. when our key cards didn't work AGAIN we went to the front desk where we were told I didn't pay them... we were not allowed to go to our room to get the receipt together because we were told we wouldn't come back to pay... so I had to go alone. Then we were told we only paid till Saturday I was dizzy and had to catch my husbands arm to not fall to the floor and we were treated as if we were common thief's... it was the whole attitude of the front desk that shocks me... so we paid again... Like we wanted to stay in this hell hole and be treated like pure crap for asking for clean towels... and let's not even talk about them NOT having hot water in the morning (I had to take COLD showers for the entire time I was here) To be fair my husband was able to get a FEW hot showers in the evenings. no microwave either and we were lucky enough to have a refrigerator in our room (our friends not so lucky)... honestly I hope we NEVER have to stay at a motel 6 again they are some of the RUDES people you will ever meet and empathy for no one... not to mention how disgusting their rooms are and if you say anything to them, they make life harder for you!!! read more

I've stayed in motel 6's all over the country and I've stayed at the one in Springfield Virginia several times. Today I had an issue with hotels.com and my reservation as did another gentleman. "Sandy" whom I've never met was working this afternoon and resolved my issue and the other gentleman's issue as complicated as it was. Unbelievable service. I never write reviews unless they are 100% deserved and Sandy deserves this recognition. If I wasn't retired, I would steal her away and have her come work for my Law firm because of her tenacity and outstanding customer service. She truly is an asset to the motel 6 brand / corporation. I can't thank her enough. Nice job Sandy and I hope that this recognition gets back to you because you deserve it. read more

We booked this place with full understanding that it was a Motel 6, a budget motel, and after reading the other reviews. While it was clean, quiet and accepted dogs (essential for this trip), in retrospect, I wish we'd gone someplace else. The accommodations are best described as spartan. We booked a single king bed. That's what we got: no more, no less. And "no more" means no shampoo, no chest of drawers, no fridge, microwave or anything else. After a long day on the road (we started in Knoxville, TN), I was ready for a little more comfort. The decor in the hallways is best described as nouveau prison. The word that kept coming into my mind unbidden was "flophouse." Positives: price, pet friendly, location, courteous staff. Downside: aesthetic embarrassment, spartan accommodations. If you just need a place to sleep on a budget, go for it. If you're expecting more than just a bed, keep driving. read more

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Convenient to Rt 95 without being too close (and therefore noisy). So why only 3 stars? Because they wouldn't honor the rate on my printout for my reservation from Priceline (booking.com)! I called Booking, and they tried to call the hotel but couldn't get through. They talked to corporate Motel 6 who told them I was charged $73 plus tax instead of $69. Booking said that they'd give me the number for Motel 6 customer service, but honestly I just want to hit the pillow and forget all about it. I find it outrageous that my "guaranteed" rate isn't being honored, but I'm not going to let a $5 overcharge ruin my life. Heck, as a former innkeeper I leave that as a tip to the chamber staff anyway. It's just the principal of the thing. read more

I would have rather slept in our car than in this place but we had reservations . I question my own sanity with this choice. It is located in an industrial area and the aura of the neighborhood was sketchy. Our small room fridge had what looked like blood on the bottom right shelf. Eewww There were no rugs so our dogs were sliding around. The bathroom light seemed to be attached to an engine. The hallway rugs had old pee spots. However, the staff was helpful and the dogs were not charged extra. read more

Worst hotel experience in my entire life! Words cannot express how unacceptable my stay was . The room and hall reeked of a foul odor, the floors were filthy, there was no shampoo or blowdryer in the room, and toothbrushes were not available to guests. The staff was rude, incompetent, and lazy taking over 20 minutes to check us in and refusing to deliver anything to our room. On top of this, a man was violently screaming and pacing back and forth outside my window. The staff didn't even bother to confront him or call the police. Needless to say, I will be staying in an Airbnb next time I am in the area. read more

I have read other reviews and they were obviously written by the owner....dont get me wrong, they are politically correct/cordial in that middle eastern kind of way, but at the same time, they are stereotypically stingy/low class in that middle eastern kind of way. They smile while they charge you $4.99 (per device per day) for the "premium" WIFI which cannot stream YouTube or netflix. (Regular WiFi is$2.99 per device per day) They have also adjusted the mixing valves in the single handle faucets to only let the water become lukewarm..... after that, I'm out of here.... I'm glad I came here before I brought my crew up here.....42 guys would have been sooooomad at me! I wanted to rate no stars but they won't let me.... P.S. ........ Later found out that they also cut the hotwater heaters off late and in the morning so I hope you like cold showers unless you shower between 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. ( so low class, I cant even begin to tell you) I like a shower in the morning.....Boo! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this Motel 6! I had a really comfortable stay here over the weekend, and it seriously was not sketchy at all. For $75 I really don't think you can find a better deal along and within the beltway. I booked here last minute because my plan to stay with a friend the night before the Army 10 Miler fell through. This was far from my top choice, as I was willing to spend a lot more for a slightly higher end chain. Most places were booked up, however, and they had availability. I was scared that it was going to be a combo of dirty and sketchy, but it was just the opposite. Clean and safe, and close to a lot of restaurants and the Springfield metro station. As other reviewers mentioned, it is no frills- no breakfast or even shampoo (there is soap though). It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the price. Staff were also friendly (though the guy I spoke with when making the reservation was not). I'll definitely remember this Motel 6 when I need a cheap place to crash near DC in the future. read more

Pros: - The service was very good. Both the gentleman we interacted with at the front desk were warm and cordial. Seriously, the best service I've ever had at a motel or hotel. - They were very dog friendly and will give you free plastic bags on request. As a bonus, if you have a well behaved dog, they have no problem with you leaving your dog in the room alone - but you do have to alert the front desk of this fact before you leave so that housekeeping doesn't go into your room or accidentally let your dog out. - The price was reasonable for the Northern Virginia area. Cons: - The area wasn't quite as sketchy as some of the other reviewers suggested (I grew up in Springfield so I know that there are waaaay sketchier places in my home town) but its location underneath a freeway overpass is less than inspiring. - I am a huge fan of no-frill places but they provided NO EXTRAS. That means no coffee maker, no little bars of soap, no shampoo, nothing. - They charge for two tiers of WiFi and I can't speak for the upper tier, but the lower tier was molasses slow. - The rest of the room was reasonably clean (no bed bugs yay) but the floors in our room were sticky...I didn't even want to know why. Bottom line: This is a good place to go if you are looking for reasonably priced accommodations AND are traveling with pets but don't go in with too many expectations. read more

This is a classic dump. I honestly never saw anything like it. We didn't stay the entire night. Paid the bill and left. The motel is basically under the highway. Signs in the parking lot and all over the front desk, to lock your car and look all locks on the room door. I must say the staff was nice. The young man at the front desk was a gem. read more

I really head to do some re-education of myself to be fair in this. Because it was called Motel 6 it was hard for me to see that this room wasn't really bad. It was spacious and appeared clean and met my needs. The downsides: The exterior, hallways and common areas are very "Motel 6" The internet is charged separately. Not too expensive it just feels "nickel-and-dimey" But other than that, it was a great value for the price. read more

This is a business travelers hotel not a spa and deserves the top ranking as such. I've stayed in similar hotels all over the Washington DC area and found this location to be the best. It has a friendly staff, quiet rooms and is clean. Of course there are luxury spa hotels nearby but Motel 6 has just what this traveler is needs. A nearby stay was far from SUPER and I'll never go there again. 3 nights at Motel 6 and it was all good. read more

I checked into this hotel into a nonsmoking room. Unfortunately, the whole hotel smelled strongly of smoke, including my nonsmoking room. I understand it is challenging to keep smoke from spreading and do not base my review off of this. However, I immediately returned to the front desk and politely explained that I was unable to stay in my room and requested a refund. The receptionist was unable to do so and said I would have to return tomorrow to speak to the manager. Long story short, the manager was unwilling to refund me. He said that it is hotel "policy" that once the customer has checked in and paid, we have a contract, and they cannot refund me. I never touched the room. They did not fulfill their side of the contract by providing me with a smoke-free room. I should also note that I canceled my stay before the cutoff time for cancellations. The manager was polite, but the policies he cited are ridiculous. It is unacceptable that they charged me for a hotel room that I never stayed in. I complained to corporate headquarters, who said that it was absolutely the hotel's policy to refund customers who did not stay in the room, but they were unable to process the refund themselves. read more

My wife and I booked a room at the Motel 6 in Springfield, Virginia and had a beyond terrible experience. We were looking for a nice, quick one night get away and what we got was absurd. First, when we walked in to the lobby there were multiple people yelling at each other (which happens). That I could get over. When we got up to our room, the bed was unmade and the room was absolutely disgusting. My wife and I even tried to get past that, but not an hour into being in the room, another guest came in to our room using their key card! If that wasn't enough, we had someone pounding on the wall from the room next to ours, then on our door. At that point my wife was petrified and felt unsafe staying there. We left MAYBE an hour after checking in and spent about 10 minutes at the front desk waiting for an employee to talk to, which never happened. Normally I am not one to complain, but with all of these circumstances I could not stay silent. I have stayed in multiple Motel 6's across the country over the years for business and had great experiences. My wife and I thought that a night away from the kids at a hotel I have stayed in multiple times would be a nice "getaway", but we had a horrible experience. I refuse to stay in a place that my wife feels unsafe and would never want to put anyone in that situation. DO NOT STAY AT THIS RAT HOLE OF A PLACE. read more

I stayed at the Motel 6 because I had an early job interview the next morning. I got in around 7pm. There were no people out and about which was no surprise because there is no where to go. I walked in and walked to the check-in desk. The man behind the desk made a huge effort about getting out of his chair and he was not in uniform. He looked up my information and confirmed my reservation. He looked up at me and asked, "Need a key?" Yes, I said. More drama with effort - heavy breathing, etc. I asked if there were irons in the room and he asked me to wait a moment. He went in the back and brought me out an iron and board. Now I had to balance that along with my luggage. Took the elevator. The floor was disgusting. Bits of paper and a weird smell - like decades old smoke. On the floor I found my room. I was taken aback by the laminate flooring. The seating was vinyl covered seating with a rickety table on which I had to balance the ironing board and iron. Everything kept slipping off the table. It was frustrating!!! I took a quick shower. Soap only provided. Coffee was provided in the lobby - nothing in the rooms. On my floor, doors kept being slammed all night long. I was very uncertain about the cleanliness of the room so I slept in my long sweater over my pajamas. My room smelled HORRIBLY! My eyes were burning within an hour of getting in. I truly was miserable. Never again. read more

This is exactly what an economy hotel should be. The rooms are clean. The service is good, and the hotel is pet-friendly. If you've been hesitant to stay at a Motel 6, this hotel will assuage your fears. Now they don't give you shampoo and conditioner, there's no breakfast and the area surrounding the hotel is a little run down (not unsafe, just not that nice), but for only $80 a night, you can't get a better rate in an expensive area like this one. I'd recommend this if you're looking for a clean room right off the highway. read more

First off, let me tell you, if you are staying for 7 days or more, go somewhere else. The will only clean you room twice (Fridays and Tuesdays), which sucks when you arrive on Friday. I only get 1 cleaning day, when I had relatives stay for 6 days, and they got cleaned every day. You can request a fresh up, which I did, and after a long day of sightseeing in DC, came back to an untouched room. The rooms are all hardwood, which are good for keeping away bedbugs, but dangerous if you have wet shoes, or just came out of shower. Speaking of the shower, it is very slick. My son slipped multiple times, I even slipped occasionally. If you have balance issues, this is not a good place. Smoking is allowed on the upper floor. The place does have 2 washers and dryers, but the one dryer goes for 39 minutes and the other is 83 minutes????? All in all, I would avoid this location until they can fix it up, or improve it's safety. read more
