Bathroom wall was smudged with dust and dirt

I put up reviews on Google. Priceline and Trip Advisor. I called yesterday about the $200 hold that was supposed to be dropped off my debit card. The impatient, know it all female who answered tried explaining but didn't know what she was talking about. She replied to my Goigle review attempting to be sad, soncere and then went on attack saying ì appear to be judgemental hard to please based on some of my reviews. No, I'm not it's just this simple. I'm spending my money and I expect good service. I didnt get it here but I stayed a week. I never bothered them or used housekeeping. My son got sick on day two probably because of that dirty germs place. I had my cleaning supplies, sheets, pillow cases, towels, wash clothes and toiletries. We were moving into out new house on 1/31. I came from the Holiday Inn Express Ft Belvoir which i higky recommend! I gave them a good review. I wanted to stay out this way because its closer to whete we live now so since I was there and I have Diamond status, a few more nights would get me 2 free nights..she asked in her reply why I booked through 3rd party if I had Diamond status. Duh, i found out when i booked bc i had two accounts the rep merged. She told me I had Diamond status and almost enough piints for 2 nights. You would think that would be appreciated. Also i would rather book with the 3rd party bc Sasha was professional and took care of me. She gave me extra points for my loyalty and when i told her Id give her a good review, more points. Thats good customer service. Theres too much more to write but i recommend everyone read ALL the reviews and theur replies before booking. Also, its funny that she didnt reply to my comments about the strange white man next door exhibiting all the signs of someone on drugs, jumpy, fidgety morning, noon and night, hanging in his car parked way away from the room with some young white girl hanging in his car day and night. Hed come to breakfast eaxh day fix several cuos of coffee and take them outside, then come and make 2 plates to take outside. Then the morning before I left, some woman is screaming and yelling getvthe F*** out of here, get out my room. This went on a while, then i see him out in the lot with the young girl smoking his cigarette. The day i checked out someone was arrested on the first floor. There was anlut 10 or more cops all over, 2 were detectives and they just kept coming in and out over an hour. I was at breakfast and then at the business center, which is a desktop..bc my laptop couldn't get wifi in the room. I was right there where everything was taking place and glad to be checking out. The best way to send a message to these businessed that feel like they can charge whatever they want and deliver less than exceptional service is to hit them in the pockets. No more of ny cash ever! Im home now bit when its vacation time Best Western or Worst Western is not an option. Word of mouth travels fast and far. People, best advice, GO READ EVERY REVIEW AND THE STAFF RESPONSES BEFORE YOU BOOK! UNLESS YOU dont mind paying giid money to stay at a dirty, outdated, loud, noisy hotel with all kinds of actuvity going on, including people being arrested. I saw several reviews after the fact that talk about police being called. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS!!! PLEASE EXCUSE THE ERRORS. THIS WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO GO BACK TO CORRECT AND IM NOT ABOUT TO RETYPE! IF NOTHING ELSE, READ, READ, READ ALL THEIR REVIEWS AND THEIR REPLIES BEFORE.....LETS START SENDING MESSAGES TO THESE BUSINESSES WE SUPPORT AND HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!!!!!

I had a Pastor come in town from Uganda to stay for two weeks, on our departing he left his carry on bag in the hallway of the lobby in excitement we immediately called, email and came back to the hotel to let them know we had forgotten our bag, we called emailed and came by everyday for a week and today I get a call from the Hotel saying they found the bag with a note on it that it was found July 31st today is August 9th. When I checked the bag for our important package of value it was MISSING we asked since the day we left for them to check the cameras - they have refused and they have cameras all over this place I've taken photo to show two along with the photo of the date that the bag in question was found. I asked the manager to review the cameras she said she didn't have access and I asked the front desk clerk she stated I needed a court order to review a camera. Absolutely no customer service - do yourself a favor pay the $10 more per night for better customer service

We were charged for audiovisual services that were not functional when our seminar began. Staff onsite were unable to operate the equipment and acknowledged they were not trained. We had to bring in outside equipment at our own expense to keep the event going. The hotel later refunded the AV charge, but refused to cover the additional cost we incurred due to their failure. Even more concerning was the behavior of the Catering Manager, who was confrontational and unprofessional in front of guests and staff. This included a heated exchange that was visible to attendees and others present, including representatives from a nonprofit organization we were supporting. That level of conduct is not what you expect when hosting a professional event. This property has a lot of potential, but based on this experience, I would be very cautious about hosting an event here without clear assurances around on-site management.

When I arrived at check-in time, my Digital Key wasn't ready and I had to wait 30 mins in the lobby until the room was ready. They did clam to refund the parking fee ($17) for the inconvenience so that's nice. The room itself was fine. Though they didn't have linens for the pull out sofa bed nor did they have shampoo in the shower. The toilet handle was malfunctioning and the shower drain was wacky too so those were minor inconveniences. Beds were comfy and the room was fine so good there. The pool was closed starting on Christmas Day to January 31. No reason was given. I'm not blaming them for it but it was a bummer for my kids. Fitness Center was there too but I can't comment on it as we didn't use it. The evening complimentary reception was decent. Adults get two free alcoholic beverages and kids have their choice of unlimited juices of soda. The food was tortilla chips, veggies, fruit, cookies (which ran out and not replaced), and cheese/crackers. Breakfast consisted of made to order food as well as a buffet of sorts. Eggs, potatoes, chicken sausage, and biscuits/gravy were the hot food choices. Bagels, fruit, and cereal other options as well. No waffle maker in sight which is unusual for Hilton hotels. All in all it was a decent stay and is conveniently right off 95. Would I come here again if I need too? Maybe, but it wouldn't be something I'd be over the moon looking forward to.

I…read morebring that up because I stay in a lot of Marriotts (almost 400 nights on my own and probably another 1,000+ for work where I don't get to keep the award nights). This is easily a top 3 WORST experience I've ever had at a Marriott. Check in: the lady at the desk was cold and barely even acknowledged my existence. Not a word about being a good member or lifetime status member. The pool was closed. We had a very large group and part of why we chose this hotel was for the pool so the kids could play in it. Not a single word at check in about it being closed, not was it on the website or in an email. Simply unacceptable. There was an extremely large group or groups of teenage kids there for DC tours or sporting events. The hallways were extremely loud ALL night long and made it impossible to sleep. If your hotel knows about these large groups (and they know exactly how many there are) they should be placing them in one area, together, away from everyone else so families and travelers can get rest. Putting all these kids and groups around families is begging for disaster. Simply unacceptable. My room was next to a busy street and ALL night long I could hear cars going by, another reason I didn't get much sleep during my stay. My room smoke detector was beeping all night long, when it started I called down to the front desk and the phone rang for 10 minutes and yet no one picked it up. I went down to find the front desk worker and no one was around, even after I waited about 10 minutes. The next day I told the workers at the front desk about the beeping and asked for it to be fixed. When I returned to my room that night the beeping was still there. Completely unacceptable to not fix that after being asked to. The fire alarm went off at 630am, waking every person and forcing us to go outside where it was freezing temperatures. After we finally got back inside we were told it was just a false alarm, not someone pulling the alarm. Our family has a special needs child and he was absolutely terrified the rest of the trip, he kept asking if we were going to die in a fire because of the fire alarm. The rooms are old and outdated, we had one room where the wall paper was falling off the walls all over the place. My pillows were terrible, they had different styles but none of them provided any kind of softness or comfort. I am still looking for the managers direct email, I am demanding my points be returned to me for this stay, it was truly a terrible experience from the time I steeped onto that property. This hotel should be stripped of the Marriott name because it completely ruins the brand.

There's also a gas station next to the hotel with rather reasonable gas prices. -There is ample, free parking on site. The hotel also offers access to the top floor parking deck from the second floor -Room is cozy and spacious and comes with all of the amenities this brand is known for (refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, dining table, etc.). The decor is a bit dated, but it's very comfortable. -Very quiet stay! even though I was not in my preferred top floor corner room, the staff did their best to accommodate me and the room was perfectly and delightfully quiet. -The breakfasts here are definitely some of the best I've had at any Residence Inn. They offer egg white frittatas, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, muffins, bagels, English muffins, oatmeal, boiled eggs (conveniently already shelled and bagged), fruit, and of course everyone's favorite... The Belgian waffles. (There was only one waffle maker though. They should invest in at least one more, to minimize the wait time). Instead of one whole waffle, the waffle maker makes four mini waffles. Perfect for decorating them and topping them with whatever you want. And in addition to syrup, they also offer Nutella, a variety of jams, honey, plus almost a dozen toppings including coconut, raisins, sunflower seeds, banana chips, and a few other fun things. Paper plates are available upon request, and they also offer tiny to-go cups for the syrup. -shower has a nozzle with adjustable setting so I don't have to do the "rotisserie chicken" thing to rinse off. -Washcloths and towels just the right balance between coarse and soft CONS: -The sink area is very small...not enough space for all of my toiletries, but I made it work. -At other Residence Inn locations, there was flavored ice water available 24/7. That is not the case here. While they do have a standard water fountain, it's very difficult to fill up water bottles. I highly recommend adding a water bottle fountain accommodate those of us who travel with our water bottles. -The in-room clothing rack is too close to the ground. I like to iron all of my clothes and hang them up in the closet when I first arrive. However, the highest clothing rack available in the closet area is still so low to the ground that the bottom of my knee-length dresses touched the floor. -The shower takes a very long time to get warm, and the water pressure is frustratingly low. Even with the attachment, it still takes forever to rinse off. -The in-room iron was so old and emitted clouds of dust onto my clothes whenever I used the steam function. Additionally, the gauge was worn so it was difficult to see what setting the iron was on. The mini ironing board in the room made it very difficult to iron clothes. A full size ironing board would have really been helpful. -I have concerns about the availability of the front desk staff. Most of the times that I passed the front desk, there was no one there. It's been this way since the moment I arrived. I walked in and waited at the desk for few minutes before someone finally showed up to check me in. Very early the next morning, I came down to the lobby looking for the fruit infused ice water, and the only employee I found to ask about it was taking a snooze in the bar area. Later the day, I went to the front desk to report a dead insect in one of my light fixtures, as well as a malfunctioning door lock. I returned to my room 8 hours later only to find that the dead insect problem had not been addressed. I called the front desk multiple times to follow up that evening, and no one answered the phone. This situation was only resolved when I went down to the front desk the next morning to complain. There was only one elevator working during our stay, but there were no notices on the elevators or in the lobby to notify us. That made it very difficult to get to where we needed to be when all of the guests and the hotel staff were. sharing one elevator.

When I entered my room, it was clean and looked comfortable. We noticed the phone in the room was inoperable, so we brought it to the front desk for replacement or repair. Later we also noticed that the several TV channels were not operable, and there was not any internet. I had spread sheet analysis work that had a deadline. Luckily, I headed to a friend's home to complete it. When we addressed all these issues to the front desk, they noted that the internet was down, and they are attempting to repair it. That evening, we noticed that the heat was not working properly, so once again we went to the front desk, and they sent someone to our room to repair the thermostat. They left assuming success, but the next evening it was quite chilly still. I addressed all these issues with the front desk, and they stated that they could not do anything for the inconvenience. I ask them to provide me with Marriott support contact information. I am a long-standing Gold Member of Marriott Hotels that has never complained about occasional issues. But in most cases those issues are resolved by the hotel management. I am guessing that this is an isolated situation, so I hope, but I cannot ever lodge at this hotel again when I receive an answer from the front desk stating there is nothing we can do about your inconvenience.

Received 2 texts from the hotel the day before my stay confirming it, as well as phone call directly from the hotel the morning of my stay from a very nice customer service person asking me if id like to upgrade my rooms to king. We decided on not upgrading, since I requested connecting rooms and they are only available in double queen. I advised the representative that I would be arriving around 6-7 PM that evening and she said, "great, see you later!" After driving five hours to Springfield from New York with my child, I arrived at the hotel at 7PM only to be told that my reservation had been canceled. The man at the front desk spoke in single syllables, said there was nothing he could do and no manager that I could speak to. He also said he could not look and see who had called me from the hotel that morning because they don't keep records of customer service interactions or calls regarding reservations. Perhaps most appallingly, he did not offer to see if they had any rooms available for me to stay in!!!!! The only thing he could manage to accomplish during the exchange was to confirm that the phone number that called me to discuss my longstanding reservation that morning was, in fact, the hotel's phone number. This hotel left me stranded 5 hours from home alone with my child and didn't even attempt to pretend to care. I was on the phone with hotels.com for an hour in my car in this hotel's parking lot with my hungry and upset child to try to rectify this. And still- this hotel refused to help the hotels.com agent or offer any apology or recompense whatsoever. The only hotel I could find at the last minute was an hour away. I didn't check in until 10PM. What an absolute nightmare. Be careful booking here. Confirm your reservation multiple times and take down names of who you spoke to and when. And try to check in during management hours in case something does go wrong.

Warning: Avoid Roach Motel Marriott TownePlace Suites, Springfield, VA…read more 6245 Brandon Ave, Springfield, VA 22150 I would give no stars to this roach motel if I could. It is an absolute dump! About a month ago, my family and I checked into what we thought would be a decent mid-range Marriott property while waiting to close on our new home. Instead, we walked into the worst hotel experience of our lives -- a true roach motel. From the start, the first room smelled like something had died in it -- hot, sticky, and clearly unoccupied for a long time. The second room wasn't much better: dingy carpets, old stained furniture, a grimy outdated kitchenette with stained pots, and a pool so filthy that our kids got sick after swimming in it. Housekeeping was supposed to come every other day but often skipped us entirely. When they did come, some staff behaved suspiciously around our valuables. On our last day, a cleaner vacuumed one square foot of the floor, left for "lunch," then returned with a translator to yell at me from the doorway. When I called the front desk, the so-called general manager sided with the cleaner, accused us of "complaining too much," and demanded that my family -- including two elderly relatives and two children -- vacate the property immediately, even threatening to call the police. I contacted Marriott corporate expecting professionalism, but they took the GM's word at face value, offered only a refund for one day, and closed the case. No apology. No accountability. We took a video showing all the evidence to prove that our story is true. We took a video of the uncleaned room and the vacuum that wa left in our room. But none of that was taken into consideration by Marriott Corporate! Bottom line: This location is dirty, unprofessional, and downright hostile to paying guests. Marriott's corporate response showed they don't care about customer safety or satisfaction. We will never stay at a Marriott again. If you value cleanliness, respect, and basic decency -- stay far away from Marriott TownePlace Suites in Springfield, VA.
