Stopped here on the way to Joshua Tree. Free wifi, coffee, and a bar of soap. Beds were more comfortable than the $60 price point would suggest. No bed bugs or cockroaches as far as we can tell. This is far from a luxury hotel, but it serves it's purpose. Only complaint is they lock up their toilet paper rolls so you can't steal them for camping. Unfortunate. read more

Motel 6 - Our sink - Hotels Near Me - Buttonwillow, California

For the price and the convienence this motel deserves 5 stars. If you're traveling from la to SF and need a break or a rest at an affordable price this is it. $40 per night for a queen bed and 50 for a double. Pets allowed and no pet fee. All queens are freeway facing the sound is loud so not advised for light sleepers. Rooms are updated and surprisingly nice! Hard wood floors (this was a first) but helped to make me feel like the floors are clean. Tv, Internet and a small work desk inside. There's a fridge and microwave Everything was clean (and yes I did check as the proudly as I can!) There was no funky smell like some had mentioned. Maybe we got lucky! Overall, we'd definitely do this again and take our chances. read more

If you are debating which Motel 6 to stay with, this the clear choice. The rooms are remodeled and much cleaner than the rival around the corner. Plus, FREE WiFi! On the downside, when we checked into our non-smoking room, it smelled like an ashtray, so we asked to change rooms (I would suggest not putting ashtrays in nonsmoking rooms). The woman working the night shift changed our room, but she acted as though we were burdening her life and stated that if this new room didn't work then tough luck -- that was disappointing. Overall, this motel is a good value and as always, we appreciate the Motel 6 chain allowing our furry friends! read more

Glad they finally did some updates to this spot! Nice and clean and pet friendly! The best part is they have air conditioning!!! During the summer time we always stay here for the track events and it is a blessing to have this air during the summer heat!!! Customer Service is always great and they offer a military discount! read more

Stopping through on our way to Palm Springs. 3 stars because they allowed pets. We were driving with our dog. For $50 bucks a night it's ok. I'll try a diff hotel next time. The towels were really stiff from the bleach. It hurt to dry myself lol but the water in the shower gets hot fast. Ice machine was broken. We went mid July so it was stupid hot outside and bugs everywhere. I'm glad the AC was working. Easy check in and out. Wouldve given it 4 stars if I hadn't found a roach in the bathroom. Guess beggars can't be choosers read more

Like pretty much anyone who stays at a Motel 6, we were on a road trip & stopped here for the night around 1:00 a.m. When we pulled up, it looks just like any other Motel 6; except the building's façade did seem a little newer. Check-in was a breeze and the minute we stepped foot in our room we were pleasantly surprised. It's really nice. The beds are true queen sized (not the usual double beds advertised as queen), the room is very spacious, there's a fridge, microwave and great big flat screen TV mounted on the wall. Any parent of a teenage boy knows what a big plus that is (hint: Call of Duty)! The room was very clean, the bathroom is nice & appears to be recently renovated. Tons of free parking and free Wi-Fi that connects every time. All this for less than $50. Woo-hoo! The only drawbacks are that it is literally next to the freeway so traffic is noisy, the exterior corridors allow a lot of outside noises to be heard as well--I heard our neighbor's three kids whining for almost an hour (the loudest one definitely doesn't deserve a donut, Kid's mom!). But, what can you do? We're not at a posh adults only resort, we're at a roadside motel an hour away from Disneyland! The beds were a little too firm for my taste, and the pillows were a little too squishy, but we slept very well so I guess that means they're not too bad. Overall, this place is a solid three-star stopover if you're driving through California. It gets 4 from me for being such a lovely surprise at 1:00 in the morning! Oh, can I mention again that it was less than $50?? Nice motel, great value for the money. We would stay here again! read more

Very slow wifi. Don't expect to be able to watch anything on your tablet or phone and the TV has ridiculously few stations. Thank God I brought a book. read more

The motel 6 is clean and comfy like NO OTHER motel I have ever stayed at. Just the thought of staying at a motel 6 gave me the eeebie jeeebies... But according to some of the reviews it is the BEST Motel 6!! Only thing I could really B@&$# about is for the queen size room they only provide 3 pillows... read more

What do you expect from a $50/night room? Clean room, decent bed and a warm shower. I've stayed here a couple times and have been happy. It's a perfect rest stop between LA and the Bay Area. The beds are really springy and I was hurting in the morning but I'm just looking for a few hours rest. I'd recommend this place for a quick night sleep. read more

This was the worse motel 6 I've ever stayed at in my entire life. And I've stayed at some pretty messed up ones. The staff here play good cop bad cop. One staff member will say it's ok to smoke while the other hits you with a $250.00 smoking fee. They have ashtrays in non smoking rooms to trick you into thinking it's ok to smoke. These people are MONEY HUNGRY looking to fine you for any little thing. Staff tried to fine me $180.00 for being "too loud". Literally called me and told me to "whisper". Staff constantly called the room harassing me, at least once a day. Sometimes the house keepers wouldn't even clean my room (short on staff), but they wanted to charge me $180.00 for "damaged towels". All together they got me for $900.00 in extra BS fees. It was always "if you don't pay then get out". Don't let these MONEY HUNGRY slumlords burn you, because they will. read more

Kudos to Beverly for her amazing customer service. I had booked this motel for a quick overnight stay, and on the night of my check in, Beverly called to let me know that the power was out and to see if I would like to keep my reservation or not. I decided to as I was about 3 hours away from the location, so I was hoping to see what would happen. An hour before arriving I had called to see and there was no response. Now Beverly had actually called me from her personal cell phone and told me, so I was able to call her back. Power was finally on, but I had already rebooked elsewhere as I was unsure of when it would be back. She was able to accommodate my cancellation and I would definitely rebook here in the future. read more

There's a lot not to like, when it's hot there are flies everywhere, not indicative of the motel but the whole area. You may have to swat some in your room and maybe the occasional bug or cockroach on the floor. Very noisy on the highway side with the interstate being so close so need earbuds with white noise on your phone to block it out. The room and bathroom may smell like a smoker lived there for awhile. However for a base rate of $35(not including tax and fees) you get a spacious room, fridge, microwave, HBO and other premium channels, HD TV so a great deal for the price. I've paid more for nothing in the room but a 20 year old TV with rabbit ears reception. read more

$42.84 after tax for single queen room. Plenty quiet and clean. A/C little noisy but blows cold. Free Wi-FI. Note that the only hygiene amenities automatically included are two bars of soap. However, shampoo is available for free at the front desk (ask for it at check-in). read more

The price can't be beat, and as another reviewer said, you get your $50 worth. We were just staying one night and requested a downstairs room away from the freeway, and they were able to accommodate us. Our room was clean, it had an updated flat screen TV. There was a large work desk and chair in the room. The WiFi was free and an OK speed. The downsides were minor for the price, but would make me consider another location before booking here again. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room, but I was able to get one from the front desk. There were no amenities other than soap in the room, so bring your own shampoo. The water was nice and hot, but the pressure was just average. I used the tub the night we arrived and it took a long time to fill; in the morning the shower pressure was equally low. For the bed, the mattress was the older style without a pillowtop and stiffer than I prefer and the blankets were really light and thin. The pillows were adequate. All in all, this was a clean and safe place to stay for $50 and it's close to Denny's and Starbucks. Even though there aren't many other choices at this freeway stop, I still think I'll look at another one next time. read more

Clean decent and priced right. I'm not usually one who stays at a motel 6 but after being on the road all day it was a good place to stop. Beds are a little hard, pillows soft and the room was clean. Starbucks, Denny's and ampm all right here convenient place to stop for a family. read more

If it was possible, I would give this hotel ZERO stars. I'll just give a list of things wrong with this hotel and the room I was provided. 1. There were stains on the sheets. 2. Stains on the headboard. 3. There was HAIR, and lots of it, all over the bed. 4. There was also hair in the shower. 5. Came across a spider, and didn't grab my shoe quick enough. It disappeared under the bed, which looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in months. 6. My receptionist for my job booked me a NON-SMOKING room, and this room reeked of cigarette smoke. It was like I was sleeping in an ashtray. And there were 3 ashtrays with "No smoking" signs on it. 7. The free WiFi didn't even work... Overall, I got maybe 2 hours of sleep because of how uncomfortable I was there, along with how much noise there was from the interstate. My next day included a total of 16 hours of driving, so my lack of sleep was a total inconvenience. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

I don't know why people are rating this hotel as "good." I know there are two and I double checked the addresses because I don't want to unfairly review the wrong hotel. But FUCK this place. BED BUGS. Yes I am sure, I saw little bed bug shaped red colored bugs crawling around in the light. And I know they like to hide so if you can see them in the day time, it must be infested like crazy. I threw away $60 worth of Nike clothes that I slept in. No toiletries or toilet paper. Usual dirty/stained/missing everything else. Smells like shit too. Didn't feel safe leaving our cars outside, considering the kind of drug addicts running around the area. Some lady smoking cigarettes with her toddler in her car threw her cigarette at me while I walked to get food. Probably a Motel 6 employee. This place really needs to be shut down. read more

My husband and I drive several times a year to visit family in San Diego. Buttonwillow is about halfway for us. As we usually drive all through the night, we've never stayed in a motel here. This week, we had to stop, about midnight. We wanted two beds, as we both had colds. We did not realize these rooms are located not only on the freeway side, but also on the freeway on ramp. Yikes! The noise did not bother me, but my husband was annoyed, especially by the big rigs accelerating onto Hwy 5. Check-in was easy, and the room was clean, even the bathroom. However, even though there is a small bar of bath soap, there is no shampoo or conditioner. The shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. The towels are on the thin side, as are the blankets. The heater worked well, though, and kept us warm throughout a chilly night. The free wifi was stable and easy to log onto. There was also a microwave and mini fridge. The cost was about $50 for the night, which we felt was a good rate, considering that there is nothing at Motel 6 that is more than basic or functional. There are fast food places and gas stations nearby, and one can drive, quickly, to the popular Willow Ranch Restaurant for tasty BBQ! I hope we never need to spend another night here, but once was OK. read more

Very rude staff. Maid knocked on the door and before I can stand up was already in my room. Then she ran away as soon as I grabbed my towels talking shit and ran to the office. I followed her to let "manager" know that she was rude. The "manager" Gloria was absolutely no help taking the maids side. I asked for owner's name and said couldn't tell me. And leave her my number to get back to me. WTF this is a business. Not a prison. I did nothing except expect respect. read more

I called and made a reservation for 4 nights. Arrived and checked in. Unloaded truck and got to the room. Key doesn't work. Back downstairs to the office. The maintenance man came up with me to assist me with opening the door. His key worked. He assured me he would be right back with a key that worked. 1 hour later, hungry, tired and hot, I tried to call the office. Phone doesn't work. Plan B. Called office on my cell. The front desk was unaware that I was waiting for a key that worked. The maintenance man finally arrived. Only to move me down 2 rooms. Apparently my 1st room had recently been rekeyed, and was not working. No kidding. 2 days later, I find out I need the room 1 day longer than planned. So 1 day BEFORE my checkout, I go to the office and pay for the room for an extra night. On my last night, we had someone try to enter our room. They apologized. It happens sometimes. But at 12:30 we had a loud banging on the door. I opened the curtain to see what the hell was going on. It was a man saying I HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR NOW!! I told him I would not. He kept repeating his order, but wouldn't say why. Finally, I woke up enough to realize he had a Security shirt on. Like that mattered to me. You can buy those anywhere! He still refused to tell me why I needed to open the door. He finally pulled out a key and said he was just going to come in. Knowing I had the security latch on, I told him to go ahead. He tried, but the latch wouldn't let him in. He tried to force it open anyway, several times. Finally realizing he wad not getting in, he told me we were not supposef to be in the room. What??? I passed my receipt thru the door. But because I renewed the room 1 day early, the incompetent front desk clerk wrote the wrong date on the receipt. I still had the original, showing the first 4 days, so why would I pay for the last night twice?? My husband went to the office with the original receipt. The security guard had refused to give me back the one I passed him thru the door. Long story short, or to cut it a bit shorter, the security guard was an ass and threatened to call the cops. We told him to go ahead. The front office just said to cone to the office at 6 am to straighten this out. At 6 am my husband was there. No manager. After waiting 15 minutes, he was told that she would be there at 7. And they would call when she got there. 7:25, no call. Another trip back to the office. Manager adviced that there hadn't been anyone in our room in 2 days. Really?? That's why we had housekeeping?? Apparently they never changed our room # over. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep on our last night. Kept waiting for the security guard Ely to show up. Or wondering if he would be stupid enough to try to do something to our truck. We were able to get an extra hour for late checkout. But the sign on the office wall says checkout is 12, but office staff said it was wrong and checkout is 11. I would advise you to stay away from this Motel 6! The same night that this issue happened, someone had the window bashed out of his vehicle. Where was the security guard Ely then? Harrassing paying guests!!! The housekeeping staff was nice. read more

When I stayed here quite and clean staff were friendly. I'd stay here again.. Like the grass area

We checked in pretty late but the front desk clerk was still friendly and effecient. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Lots of room for parking with a trailer and the lot seemed safe and secure. The grounds were clean and well manicured and I felt comfortable walking my dog around late at night. Would definitely recommend this motel for road weary travelers. read more

For the record - these five stars are on the Motel 6 scale, not the St. Regis. Stopped here for the evening after the first day of driving a big 'ol moving truck from Tucson. Clean room, nice grounds, comfy bed, working AC and some darn comfy pillows on the bed. Must stress how comfrotable the pillows were, not too fluffy and not too flat. Felt really spoiled knowing that this was a Motel 6. If I have to come through this area again driving on the 5, this would be where I'll stay. Wish all Motel 6s were this nice. And free Wifi - you guys rock! read more

Got stuck in a ton of traffic driving in to So.Cal so I had to pull off the road to sleep since it was about 3am and I was so tired. Called a few places and this one had the best deal for such a short stay. It was located right off HWY 5 so it was easy to get to and short distance to continue my drive. Front desk is open 24/7 and it was easy check in process. There was plenty of parking and they had refreshments in the check in area all complimentary. Besides the crazy amount of crickets roaming all over the place (just my luck there would be the #1 thing I am most afraid of EVERYWHERE) the place was calm and quiet. The room was pretty standard. The beds were pretty hard and the bathroom really outdated but for a quick stay I did not mind it all. Also, there was food and gas on the same street so it was super convenient. read more

It's confusing, because there are 2 of them, right across the street from each other. I've stayed in both of them. This review is for the one on the West side of the road. The other one was noisy and smelly. This one was absolutely fine. Keep in mind, it's still a motel 6, it's not the Ritz. But it was clean, comfortable beds, and relatively quiet. The wi-fi worked fine. All in all, a good deal as a place to crash on your drive. read more

Rooms are fairly clean with hardwood floors and Free Wifi . One thing I would mention is for bathrooms to be cleaned better especially the shower area . Front desk is available via phone . House keeping is bit annoying as they knock on your room . I indicated I did not want house keeping done and was asked about check-out which frankly is none of house keeping's business . I will say front desk does not do a good job of communicating with house keeping as I already had booked an extra day of stay at the front desk. That being said, this place will get 4 stars for the very reasonable price and heat/air conditioning , TV , Internet that works. Hot water also works at the shower . read more

This has got to be the best motel 6 I have ever stayed at. It was clean, decently sized, affordable and the check in was super quick. Our room was in the back corner of the lot and was super quite despite being near the Highway. Definitely worth it and would stay again. The only down was the bathroom. Need to be brought to the present, a little dated. I also wouldn't recommend the Dennys down the road. Was terrible. read more
