I have been staying here many times per year since 1995. I have never been disappointed with my stay. I stayed at nicer places, but I've never stayed for anywhere as inexpensive as this space The rims are very clean. The parking is convenient and free. The location is surprisingly quiet, even though it's close to a major interstate. The staff are very caring. They understand we're coming and tired from long drives and we're staying here. read more

I used to drive from Palm Springs to Monterey many times, and Buttonwillow is almost halfway between the two. Making this the perfect mid way stop. I could always count on a clean hotel room for the night. Close to restaurants. Coffee in room was a plus. Friendly staff was good to see. Loved this place. read more

I refuse to be nickel and dimed without putting up a fight. Here's #2 in 2025's "Boldly Charging More Than Advertised" businesses. Door to the room was actually jammed shut. The dude had to come let me in!! You have the shove the handle way down with force. I was greeted by a room that smells like someone shit in the bathroom. Speaking of that: Bathroom floor is dirty!!! The temperature control temp keys are stuck!!! Took several attempts to adjust the temp. It was sticky too. Nasty. Some sort of black sandy substance all along the floor edge along wall. The bed is hard as a rock. Might as well sleep in your car. The fees are also not transparent. $66.53 Total w/tax*. That little star means $75!!! Beware. Stay across the street for $20 less. I only booked motel 6 cause I thought it was a brand you a trust. Not even. read more

Adrianna was the best. As soon as I arrived she was very friendly and got me in and out of check in fairly quickly. I always do my bookings through booking.com and I had selected a non smoking and for some reason booking screwed up. Adrianna was able to help me get that settled quickly with no hassle. You do have to pay a $50 deposit, which I paid in cash and when I went to check out this morning the lady went to check my room and refunded me quickly. This will now be our go to when we are back in Buttonwillow. The room was very clean as well as the restroom. The room did not have an iron or ironing board. The beds were very comfortable we slept so good and did not want to get out of bed. You are walking distance from a lot of fast food restaurants and gas stations. read more

This place is a godsend. Like nearly every Motel6 I've stayed at. They've never done us wrong, despite the consensus being seemingly the opposite. I think they've upped their game in the last few years. Either way, after ditching the Vagabond Inn down the street due to mold, dirt, dirty bedsheets, and offensive smells, we came across the ol Motel 6. It was affordable, bed was comfy, and they let ya have your pet! Only reason for four stars is the freeway noise is pretty loud. read more

The place was dismal, couldn't even get an extra pillow. The staff was friendly enough, but the room wasn't particularly clean. The bed was definitely not comfortable. It just suffice that shelter for the evening. read more

Let me first say that I rated this as two stars, but the quality is not bad. The room furniture has been modernized, and the bed was comfortable. The third star has been compromised by suspected cost cutting strategies by the owner. The bathtub has had the tub function disabled. In some of the rooms, the hot and cold water lines are in reverse for the tub. At check-in, I suggest you ask for extra towels as they are on the small side. Make sure you bring your own facial tissue, shampoo, and conditioner. They will only provide two bars of soap. Take note that coffee makers are also not available in the room. Their website does not indicate they have them, but if you are a night-time tea drinker like myself (I bring my own), you will need to bring your own kettle. Also missing from the room was the fourth pillow. Typically, a king bed will have at least four, but the room only had three. With all of that being said, the staff was very friendly and the prices are reasonable and competitive for the area. The room was, for the most part, clean with the exception of where the maid may have missed cleaning. If travling in the future again, I would stay here for an overnight stop because of the price. read more

Updated rooms. Clean! We followed the advice of another reviewer and got a king room and it was on the quiet side of the building. My only complaint, and this is true at many motels in this price range: why can't they put two chairs in a room? This one had an office chair, but nothing for the second person. read more

Difficult to beat the convenience and pricing if you're in the area. For a reliable chain and namesake, Motel 6 six is relentless in delivering value for minimal frill accommodations. Ground-level parking may give you access to your vehicle. There are two sides of the property with rooms. One that faces Tracy street adjacent to the pool area is ideal for the freeway side has a lot of noise polution that will certainly keep you up at night if you're a light sleeper. Rooms have a mini-fridge and a microwave for further convenience. The recent updates of mattresses are a pleasant surprise, but be sure to bring your own shampoo because the only bath accessories are a couple of bars of mini soaps. Best of all is the water pressue in the bath. This makes up for much of the short comings in the details. read more

The front desk woman was very sweet who checked me in. The price and location of the room was good for what I needed. The room itself was mediocre but the saying holds much truth, "You get what you pay for." Pros: AC Location Affordable Hot water Great parking Fridge/Microwave Cons: Used condom under the bed...absolutely unacceptable and disgusting...I was checking under to see if I dropped anything before my departure and I saw something...so I made my way around to the other side and BAM there it was starring at me. Rollie pollies (pill bugs) roaming the room. I killed 2 flys that were basically indestructible, I must've killed them at least 3 times... Dirty shower and dirty floor Wifi doesn't work and you don't get service in the hotel (T-mobile) read more

We came here as a stop on our way down from LA to the Bay area it was inexpensive and the reviews were decent. We had a king non smoking room. the room was sparse but it was clean we did we have a microwave and refrigerator which was nice the TV had basic cable we usually watch HGTV in the food Network and we are all set up in high definition. There is an ice machine there is also a pool there is no spa. you we were on the side facing Town not the side facing the freeway I can imagine you can hear some noise but nothing unbearable. The bathroom was clean but the stopper that allows you to take a bath did not actually stop the water so we had to go MacGyver on it to bathe our son. there's coffee in the morning but I don't believe there is a breakfast you may be able to spend a couple extra dollars and get a free breakfast at some of the other hotels in town. Speaking of the town there is a pretty good Indian food place a pretty good pupusas place and the diner there is decent. It is a trucker town with fairly cheap gas. As far as gas station stores your best bet is probably the ampm. I would go back as a quick sleepover. Wifi was good enough. read more

Motel 6 - Wrap your remotes...at all hotels! - Hotels Near Me - Buttonwillow, California

Got a new job where I am staying at a motel 6 at least 1-2 nights a week. This will be the 3rd motel 6 I've been at just in December. Let's start off by soon as you walk into the lobby the woman is so much nicer (12/6/21 night 8:47pm) she offers me a non smoking king size bed away from the freeway for less noise, she then even shows me a map where the last two in a row I had to figure out where my room was on my own. Walking into the room it's a much nicer room, it even had a microwave and last night that hotel didn't even have a remote for the tv... I just laid on the bed and woke up and went back to work... I didn't even want to shower in that tiny corner unit and the floor was dirty... I slept with my boots on... Here I felt like I could just take my shoes off at the door just like at home. My co workers did tell me this was a much better hotel, but the only down side I have found is room 118 does have a pretty firm bed.. I'm more of a soft sleeper. read more

Newly renovated and clean with decent swimming pool. Room and bed are spare, but comfortable. No amenities, though. No shampoo, no coffee maker, no alarm clock. Wifi not working. I ordered a deluxe room with a mini-fridge and a microwave, but the only real advantage is ground floor access facing away from the freeway. In my room, the shower only runs HOT, which was a major problem. Overall, it was pleasant, but not highly recommended. read more

This is exactly what you expect for a $44 a night hotel. Old, in need of remodeling. The only reason we stopped was because my husband was not feeling well unexpectedly. The hotel smells of cigarettes smoke, the beds and linens are so worn out and torn. The lament wood flooring is warped and buckled in place. Food on the floor. This is not a nice place but I would imagine a cheap place namely for Truck Drivers that need a shower and some time out of their trucks For $44 a night, it is exactly what one should expect read more

We really liked this place though pricy for a Motal 6. Be sure to ask about discounts and compare to several options close by. The beds were super comfortable and it was clear they are in the process of upgrading the rooms. Also walking distance to several fast food options after a long drive. Grounds were nicely kept and room was clean. We would stay again. read more

The room smelled of cigarette smoke, then there were ash trays in the room with stickers of a pictogram of no smoking. This is insane, why would you supply ashtrays in the rooms? The phone had a piece missing, and in another room, the phone cord fell out of the handset. Towels are real small, ask for more bath towels from the get go. The door has two large gaps, plenty of room for archnoids to get in. read more

This used to be the old location for Willow Inn & Suites but is now converted into a Motel 6 (NOT to be confused with the original Motel 6 literally one block down on the same road Tracy in Buttonwillow). The reason this Motel 6 is so different from the other one is because it truly is a nicer motel. The rooms are a lot nicer, more spacious, cleaner, and the service was quite good. The towels are nice, new not scratchy and over-washed and the parking is ample so you can always find something near your room. Even the freeway facing rooms aren't that bad when you turn on the A/C (as it's probably needed since it gets hot in Buttonwillow). This Motel is a little more expensive than the other Motel 6 but you can get it for a $45.99 / night rate versus a $38.99 per night at the other Motel. The other one is much dirtier and older, and since Willow Inn & Suites was a nicer motel in general when Motel 6 took over the location not too much has changed. The blankets are warm, the beds are decent and you really can't get better than this in the middle of I-5 when you're looking for a place close to Buttonwillow Raceways. They have free wi-fi that works well and the showers are in good working condition. The toilets are eco-friendly and I'll leave the rest up to you. read more

Checked in late for 2 rooms. Both rooms had bed bugs in them. The girl in the office gave me a couple more rooms in which one had no hot water. Not sure whats going on. Never offered me any credit for my troubles. read more

I am giving this Motel 6 5 stars because everything was excellent. We were greeted by Beverly who was very friendly and helpful. We were fortunate to get room 243 which is located away from the main building and is a larger room. Basically everything is updated in the room so for a freeway stop motel is was very nice. Air conditioning worked great. Food is very easy as you have many choices. Next door is an awesome restaurant serving Mexican/El Salvadoran food. McDonalds is also an easy walk. Please note there are 2 Motel 6 within a block of each other. Based on reviews this one is much better. Special note: there are flies everywhere as you are very near cattle farms and agriculture. This is normal for the area so you can't blame the motel for this issue. Tip: bring extra towels and a couple pillows for extra comfort from home. read more

The lady up front was extremely grumpy and rude. The rooms are small and have lots of stains and stuff on the floors. The tile floors are chipped and I saw bugs in the bathroom. Soo loud. I couldn't sleep at all. Bed was like sleeping on a cot. 1 inch mattress. I Needed to find a quick place to get some sleep before getting back on the road. Wasted money just to stare at the ceiling and then just left after a couple hours. Check in lady told me the heater would drown out the sound but not true. You feel like a semi might come run you over it's that loud. Plus heater turns on and off and on and off all night. Stay elsewhere read more

Stayed here because I wanted to be halfway to Oakland by Sunday morning and this place worked out fine since it was two hours from Los Angeles and I was going to arrive late at night. Perfect pit stop. Room was clean, comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water & pressure. So much parking and just off the freeway. Arrived a bit past midnight and a young lady assisted me. Attentive and welcoming. Had a room facing the highway but I was really impressed that there was not much noise coming from the freeway. Fridge, microwave plus a nice flat screen are cool touches to have. read more

I really hate to give them a 1 star; I want to state the front desk person was super sweet and very nice. She did go out of her way for me and I do appreciate it. 3 Hour drive for a Race in Buttonwillow I did get a killer rate. I check in and find out my room is dirty. IE not even cleaned after the last person. They can move me but I brought my car and I wanted to be parked near my room so I can watch it. I called about the dirty room; go to the front and tell them it's dirty and needs to be cleaned. She said about 20 mins it will be done. I wait for 20 no one comes; I go to dinner with my friends. I come back; nothing been done unmade bed no towels trash.. I call front desk. The cleaning people have left already and they only have 2 smoking rooms left. So the front desk lady did bring me towels and fresh sheets so I can clean the room myself. I mean it's motel 6 it's better then a smoking room I can't stand the smell. My mattress was so springy and off; I didn't get a wink of sleep. I wouldn't return ever. But i want to point out I don't blame the front desk person as she said her maid called and said it was clean. It was not. I am pretty disappointed but when you stay at motel 6 you got to keep your bar low. read more

Update 6/10/15 If you're debating between this upgraded motel and the one around the corner, I still say go with this one. I just got a weird message from someone affiliated with the other Motel 6 (the North location), from around the corner. Angry that my review advised to stay at the Central location instead. I find it odd that her only review is of the Motel 6 North and yet she put her home city as Bakersfield which is only the next city over from Buttonswillow. Here is her message to me below. Just a Note 6/9/2015 0 friends 1 review Evette R. Bakersfield, CA Send Message For your review of: Motel 6 Question, what's more important luxury or quality? I don't normally leave reviews ever but that was a pretty terrible stay. The room was sticky and everything felt dirty. There was a stain on the bathroom door that looked like blood splatter or something. The front door didn't completely shut and had a gap on the bottom where some light and the already noisy freeway noise came through. Window screen had a hole. The blankets had cigarette burns. I've stayed at plenty of other motel 6 because it's convenient for a quick overnight stop. Not all the Motel 6 I've stayed at were great but they were bearable and normally I don't care because I'm just there to sleep. But this Motel 6 in particular was just bad- so bad I felt compelled to leave this review. Oh and the AC/Heater is hopeless. It's preprogrammed so it's always low fan. I'd tell you what the temperature was but the screen was shattered. And there was a fun note on the window ac from a previous guest for operating instructions lol I'd like to add that the staff had no fault and were kind and courteous with their service. When we asked for extra pillows, one of the staff came up and delivered it to our room. read more

The people are nice but the place is terrible--and thieves siphoned the gas from my car overnight despite being parked in a well-lit area right in front of the front office. I tried three times to have the staff review the security camera video to see who the thieves were and kept getting promises that they were doing so, but the staff never got back to me about it despite promising three times that they would review the video. The heater didn't work in my first room and then there was water leaking from the refrigerator across the floor (which I discovered with my wet socks as I walked to check the thermostat); they moved me to another room, but these types of basic maintenance tasks should be taken care of before a guest does into the room. The freeway noise was the least of the problems here! read more

Great place to stay for Buttonwillow track days. Do not get this confused with the other Motel 6 located extremely nearby! This is the nicer of the two. Less than $45 for a night, and they are pet friendly (as are all Motel 6). It's not extravagant, of course. Nothing was too dirty, although we were given a smoking room (nothing else was available). Be cautious that if you are a light sleeper, to keep the air conditioner on to drone out the noise of the freeway (or the loud exhausts as the cars depart for the track). read more

I've been here 3 times, I believe, before it was renovated. The renovations are a vast improvement. The fake wood floors are so much cleaner than the carpeting. The furnishing are sparse but modern. The brightly painted accent walls are a nice touch. Yes, the entire "town" smells like manure. Also, it is overrun by feral cats. I like to bring some cat food to feed the cats. I stayed at the other Motel 6 in Buttonwillow which has since changed ownership and has a different name; this one is definitely the better of the 2. read more

Room 231. Faces freeway. Sounds like being inside a chainsaw. The least they could do is offer foam earplugs, let alone noise-cancelling headphones. A bar of soap in the shower. No little shampoo. Here's the kicker. I brought a water bottle into the front office at checkout and asked if they might be able to go in the back and fill it at the same time that I was getting coffee. The best the desk clerk young woman could say was, "We can fill it with hot water at the dispenser for you." Dante's last rung has nothing on this place. I kept waiting for a three-faced Lucifer to break into my room and devour me. read more

It is extremely important to know that there are two Motel 6's at the Buttonwillow exit on I-5 in the Central Valley. They share a parking lot and only one of them has a traditional price sign that is the trademark of Motel 6. That price sign is under a faded old Motel 6 logo. The other building, at the south end of the parking lot has a brighter logo sign and is easier to turn in to so most motorists will of course turn into the first driveway. Once inside I expected to pay the price on the sign I could clearly see outside the window but the clerk quoted a substantially higher price. When I pointed to the obvious sign she said oh, that's for the corporate property ... we are a franchise and can charge whatever we want to. I was tired and didn't want to argue. The price was more than I wanted to pay and I made an offer which they accepted. That is NOT the way Motel 6's work, their whole concept is that they clearly post the price for that property outside and "leave the light on for you" indicating if they have a vacancy or not. They place did not have a vacancy sign. The room was typical Motel 6. There was a slight attempt to "upgrade" it as the chain is in the process of doing but the furniture and fittings were still sub-standard. I was tired after a long drive so I crashed and slept okay ... the whoosh of the semi's on the freeway was like the gentle surf on a beach right after a nuclear disaster. Lulling, broken only by the oversize diesel pickup trucks starting their engines at 4 AM. When you have zero choice where to stay because you are too tired to drive, you tend to give a place like this more stars than it deserves. So let's go with 3-and-a-half. Oh, BTW, please note that if you read some of the other reviews for the two Motel 6's in Buttonwillow some of the reviewers are obviously confused and are reviewing the wrong motel. This one is the newer, more expensive and more "upgraded" property that is south of the older, cheaper and more basic motel. read more

I stayed at the "fancier" Motel 6 last nite. Cockroaches!!! My 7 year old had thrown up literally 2 minutes before pulling into the parking lot. All I wanted at 1030pm after a 7 hour drove was to be able to clean her up and get a decent night sleep.
