2-stars seems accurate for my experience. I thought it would be about on par with the Motel 6 since it's an extended stay version, but it was pretty rough. While the room was technically clean, the bed cover was stained, the drawers on the dresser were misaligned and possibly damaged, and the lighting was a super harsh white. The shower pressure was good and the full sized refrigerator was a surprise. The A/C worked well also. We never got around to the pool, but that's another reason we chose this hotel over some others. Hi just a regular Black Nomad Family Here. We travel. Because it's our right to travel. Anyway. We walked in this room. The floors are CAKED in some black dirt deep within the floor boards. When you mopped the water turned black instantly. We had to use their towels and those turned black instantly. Someone punched a hole in the bathroom door. The door was falling off the hinges. This place does have black mold sometimes in the bathrooms sometimes in the A/C and sometimes in the vents. Yet this establishment instead of having any shred of integrity at all decided we were why that was. When in fact we fixed a lot of that just to sit down for a few weeks. Thanks motel 6 enjoy the 3000 ish dollars over 2 21 day periods. Also when we left the first time and came back they complained about the towels and sheets. I think they are racist. I think this is a descriminitory issue because the rooms were not clean. We cleaned them. We did their jobs. All they do is TAKE YOUR MONEY . FLIES EVERYWHERE THOUSANDS OF THEM. Looks like a plague fr. We just are able to endure a lot but people take our kindness for weakness but I dont know how many health violations I found off the top of my head. Its basically a motel 6 with an unstocked kitchenette. I got a late start out of LA heading for Sacramento, so decided to stop here for the night. I was always curious about the "studio 6" brand. It's motel 6's " extended-stay" Briand. The rate was very reasonable. The front desk clerk was polite. I was a little confused at first, because I had to check in at the vagabond. The vagabond is in front, this place is in the back. The entire property is well-kept, with no smells or freeway noise. The room was "just OK." it was pretty small. I've stayed in regular motel 6'es with larger rooms. The bed was a little bit firm for my personal taste, but not too bad. The beds sleeps, two, , but they were only two small pillows. I normally sleep with two pillows, but they were small even for me. I asked at the front desk for a third pillow, and she said she didn't think there were any but she would check on it and get back to me. No follow up phone call, no anything. Everything was spotless, including the bathroom. They only provided soap, no shampoo, and the bath towels were pretty small and thin. The kitchenette had a cook top, full-size fridge, and a microwave. However, there were no plates, cups, silverware, nothing. I asked at the front desk, but she says that you have to provide your own. there was a small table for eating or working on, but only one chair. A problem if you are traveling with somebody The TV had a good number of channels with a good picture. The Wi-Fi was just fast enough to stream video, but it was spotty. It cut out a few times. I just went to my phones hotspot. they do provide "breakfast", but it's basically cold cereal and waffles. They have coffee and hot chocolate, but they were out of Styrofoam cups. I knew I wasn't going to be getting the Hilton, but even for a Motel 6, this was "extremely just OK." I expected more from this brand. Next time, I will probably just stay at one of the other motels here, or maybe head a little farther on down the road. Thanks anyway. read more

One of the cleanest and nicest Motel 6, we've ever stayed in. We stayed for one night as we just needed to rest before continuing our drive. The room was spacious, very clean and overall a great little motel. Right next to the freeway, very easy to find and close to a McDonald's and gas stations. Convenient location! read more

Do yourself a favor and don't stay at this Studio 6 under any conditions ... in fact, just bypass Buttonwillow and drive to Bakersfield. We arrived late (around 11:00 pm) and the night desk person was sleeping with his head down on the desk. He gave us the key and sent us on our way to a room with loads of spiders and flies, but no power in 2/3 of the room (no TV, no kitchenette, no bathroom lights). When we called to ask for a different room, he said, "well, you could come down for another room, or if you're just going to sleep, you don't really need lights." Needless to say, I picked my stuff up and went back down only to be told that was the only room available ... why he didn't tell me on the phone, I'll never know. So we went back to the room and showered and brushed teeth by iPhone light. He also said I'd get a refund for the night and they would fix the problem the next morning. When we came back the next evening, nothing had been fixed and I had not been refunded for the night before. Someone had cleaned the room without bothering to notice nothing worked. The desk agent said she couldn't do anything and I would need to call the manager ... who has yet to return my calls. I checked out there and then. Honestly, this property needs to be demolished for how poorly it is maintained and run. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Studio 6 is using a mattress size which is correctly called a REGULAR mattress size. A regular mattress size has dimensions of 54 inches x 74 inches. Studio 6 is calling a REGULAR mattress a queen. A real queen mattress is 60 inches wide. Two people can comfortably fit in the "queen" mattresses at Studio 6 only if they spoon. read more

CONS: While touting their attention to Covid-19 and cleanliness, the place was filthy. I was told countertops and all touchable surfaces were disinfected/sanitized. Here's what sanitized means at the Buttonwillow Studio 6: coffee rings, grease, and fingerprints on the kitchenette countertop, scum around the drain in both kitchen and bathroom sinks, dust and dirt on the supporting bed platform that hadn't been cleaned in a long time, the tub and shower were old and jenky, and the floor was beyond filthy. The room was smaller than most Studio 6 locations. PROs: it was cheap and our car didn't get broken into. read more

Relocated rooms 3 times because of heavy cigarette smell in non-smoking rooms. When asked to relocate for the 4th time the front desk came out to inspect incase we were up to something. After he checked the room he said "oh that's not cigarette smell, that's just must." We still yet to receive our refund. read more

Every room smells like a dirty toilet, ranging from tolerable to stings your nose. At least the hotel staff were courteous enough to accommodate me into a different room, which didn't smell as bad. read more

I really like that it has hardwood floors and a kitchen. Everything was clean and the girl at the front desk was very nice and extremely helpful. Definitely pet friendly and no pet deposit. Lots of food choices nearby. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a bathtub! I've stayed in hotels twice and even 3x the price that didn't. It was perfect for a little getaway for me and my 2 furry friends. Definitely recommend, especially if you're on a budget. Great for the price. read more

One thing that drew me to the hotel was the pictures of the rooms with HARD FLOORS and NO CARPET. Very updated and easy on/off Hwy 5. Bigger than average refrigerator, cooktop and prep space. Clean and comfortable. Great rest spot for breaking up the long North to South drive time. I will make a point of staying here again as well as looking for similar updated hotels of this chain elsewhere. I'm very pleasantly surprised!! read more

This place has become the worse. It is being used to house families. Sheets and towels are stained. Rooms smell like smoke. Couples screaming in middle of the night. Children packed in rooms. It is not good enough for my dog let alone us. read more

I had been staying at this hotel for over a month, going home only on the weekends. Do to the nature of my work I didn't mind the place not being fancy, but then things started happening. Drains would clog, the stove tops wouldn't work, I burned my hands because the cold and hot water hook ups were backwards, and I would walk in on people who had been double booked in the same room I was. The staff would try to help, but the manager Blanca would make the situations worse. I called one day to book a room despite all of this. I spoke to Blanca her self to make the reservations, and I make the 2hr drive to check in, only to find out that she never made my reservations, and blacklisted me so I could not book a room. When I asked her why she said I had stolen the pillows from the room. Of course this was not true. If she didn't want me in the hotel she could have told me, instead of faking a reservation and leaving me out to dry. read more
