stopped by after hiking pololū and craving a sweet treat. had to try the lilikoi tart and it was amazing. lilikoi treats are often hit or miss whether they have a true lilikoi flavor but this hit it out of the park. great sour lilikoi flavored and a fun meringue texture on top. owner was so friendly. adorable little bakery with indoor and outdoor seating.

Try at least one of everything. We selected a variety of breads and pastries and I can't say I had a favorite because they were all scrumptious. Arrive early for the soup of the day. Stop in on a Sunday morning to listen to ukuleles & sing along. The owners were so friendly and knowledgeable. The vibe is "stay a while and just enjoy the aloha spirit."

All organic flour used in their baking. Breads, bagels (on Saturday), pastries, muffins, etc. - also they serve breakfast - had shaksuka today and it was excellent!

Let's just start by taking them first recognizing us by name when we arrived for our reservation…read more The staff, from the valet parking young men to our hostess and beyond, were as polite as we wish to be hosted. Our server, Indana is a lovely young lady. Kind, polite, helpful, and knowledgeable of her treats and establishment food menu as well as beverage. She suggested wine from Croatia that was delicious. The food was delicious, we ordered grilled octopus for appetizer , a local beet and tomatoes salad and a paella with shrimp and clams. Everything was delicious, but.... The smoked paprika added and the caramelized rice gave to the paella a whole new take on the traditional one. Thank you Chef Soto for your creation and for taking the time to talk with us. Wonderful experience!

Rome Meets the Pacific: A Revelation at Meridia…read more There is a specific kind of bravery required to order Carbonara on a tropical island, especially when you are dining with your mother-in-law and your palate is still vibrating from a trip to Italy just a month ago. We had recently dined at a prestigious "Tre Gamberi" trattoria in Rome, so our skepticism was high. We expected a heavy, cream-laden resort interpretation. We were wrong. Under the guidance of Chef Soto, the Carbonara here is not just an imitation; it is an act of alchemy. It is a Roman-meets-Norcia masterpiece--a glossy, golden emulsion of egg, cheese, and guanciale/pancetta, elevated by the earthy whisper of truffle. We were seated at a gorgeous table near the cove often frequented by sea turtles (tartarughe), making this a perfect moment of enjoying a tartufata near the tartarughe. It was, without hyperbole, as good as what we had in Italy. The rest of the meal followed suit in a dizzying display of technique. The Japanese scallops were silken and precise, tasting of the clean, cold ocean. And do not let the whimsical name of the "Poi-cotta" deter you. What sounds like a kitschy pun is actually a dessert of haunting texture and depth--far more compelling and sophisticated than its charming title suggests. Chef Soto visited our table after the meal, his passion for these ingredients palpable. Meridia has always had the view; now, finally, it has the soul to match.

My husband ordered the fresh catch of the day (Mahi Mahi) and thought it was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right -- flavorful without being overpowering. My dad had the chicken Caesar salad, which he found refreshing, with crisp greens, tender chicken, and a nice balance of dressing and parmesan. My mom chose the chicken kabob plate, a hearty dish with tender chicken skewers, rice, grilled vegetables, pita, and tzatziki -- filling and well-seasoned. I had the American Greek Salad, loaded with fresh vegetables, feta, and pita on the side. It was light, fresh, and satisfying. We shared the baklava ice cream cake for dessert -- a real highlight. The layers of baklava with creamy vanilla ice cream were absolutely delicious, and the drizzle of syrup tied it all together. We especially loved the vanilla ice cream paired with the crunch of the baklava. The mango iced tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. We also brought our own bottle of wine (2019 Double Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon), and the corkage fee of $30 was well worth it to enjoy with our meal. Our server, Justina, was kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The restaurant itself has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere -- relaxed yet with an elevated feel that makes it great for both family dinners and special evenings out. Pita Paradise delivers on fresh, well-seasoned Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a Hawaiian touch. Healthy options, great service, and a warm ambiance made this one of our favorite meals on Maui. Highly recommend, especially for the baklava ice cream cake!

First off, their macadamia ice cream is really really good! Creamy, thick, sooo tasty! We also ordered: Epic Feisty Tacos - 5/5 - comes with three tacos and spicy sauce. The tacos are super tasty and perfectly balanced spicy, savory, tangy flavors. The lemon herb chik'n is also so good, you can't even tell it's vegan. The tortillas are a bit on the crumbly side, but still equally tasty as a taco bowl. Definitely would recommend this dish if you love spicy tacos! Epic journey nachos - 4/5 - the toppings on the nachos taste similar to the feisty tacos. The chips are more like baked tortillas with a crispy exterior and softer center. Journey Classic Crepe and Blueberry macnut crepe - 3/5 - The crepe itself was a bit thick, I'd describe it as more of a pancake than a crepe as crepes should be super thin. Still pretty good though all together, fruity and sweet. Latte with oat milk - 4/5 - a bit on the bitter side but not a bad latte! Asian salad - 4/5 - good salad, vegan meat is well seasoned and everything pairs well together. It wasn't very Asian tasting though, more like a Mexican-Asian fusion salad.

I particularly enjoyed their strawberry shake, which was so refreshing. I noticed that they also have a coffee one, which means I'll need to stop in again next time I'm in Kona. in spite of walking in during a busier time of day, service was quick both while putting in the order and waiting for our food to come out of the kitchen. Depending on the time of year and when your reservation is, you can catch some of the best sunsets in all of Hawaii right from your table. It's one of those places where the view alone makes the night. Food is consistently great. The pizzas are always a safe bet, the chicken parmigiana is a must, and honestly any of the pastas don't miss. Everything is just solid across the board. Drinks are on point, cocktails are strong in a good way, well made, and they've got a great wine list plus plenty of beer options. Service is exactly what you'd expect from Four Seasons, top tier, attentive, and smooth without being over the top. Also a great spot if you're vegetarian or dining with someone who is. They actually have real options, not just afterthoughts. They'll occasionally have a show with fire dancers which adds to the experience. Great food, great service, great drinks, and one of the best views you'll get anywhere. Easily my favorite restaurant in Hawaii and it's not even close. Parking: Visitor Parking is free!

This tastes like a combination between a curry and a breakfast burrito. The spices make it warming and flavorful while the butternut squash and coconut add creaminess and sweetness. The portion is generous and can be shared between 1-2 people. - vegetable curry bowl (8/10): carrot, cauliflower, and peas in a Tamil curry with a side of rice. This is a hearty and comforting meal. The flavors are similar to the butternut squash curry but this one is slightly less sweet. I personally liked the butternut squash one better but both are very tasty. - vegan crepe (8/10): buckwheat crepe filled with a lentil and tomato stew with sides of salad and hummus. This was a unique take on a crepe as I have not seen other places fill theirs with a stew. While it was a little hard to split, it was a generous portion for one person. The salad adds a pop of freshness and the hummus allows for a creamy relief from the spices. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! This is one of our favorite go to spots on the island.
