It was so excellent that I couldn't stop eating it even after I was completely full. *Sunrise Juice: Delicious, bright, and refreshing. *Açaí Bowl & Smoothie: My husband ordered both and said they were excellent. The Bad: *The "Salad": The panini comes with a side "salad" that is literally just a pile of loose leaves and dressing. It is not a salad. Either do a proper side salad or don't bother serving it at all. Most importantly- The Staff: The entire experience was completely dampened by the staff. The walmart version of Ryan Cabrera who took our order was incredibly rude and cold. Both he and the woman working with him seemed genuinely unhappy to be there - honestly, they looked like they would be happier declawing cats. My husband waiting for our order could hear them complaining the entire time about how little they are paid. Look, it makes sense why you have an attitude if you hate your wage, but I am here on vacation from MY job where I work hard. It's that good. This little coffee shop does a lot of business. The line wasn't long though and they work quickly preparing the food with love and attention to detail. You can eat inside or out with lots of tables to choose from. The açaí itself was a bit soft, but I liked that it wasn't hard as a rock. The granola was great. The berries and banana were plentiful. The big scoop of coconut peanut butter was fabulous and the honey and chocolate on top were the crowning achievement. It was an A+ in my book, and that is saying a lot.

Of course you can pull the car around the corner, park the car, and walk over to the counter service. The malasada is square shaped. So heavy. We got a total of three. We brought them back to our resort. The bellhop recognizes the box, and says it like a loaf of bread. He was right. We had them the next day for breakfast. We didn't think there was enough filling for the size - we got strawberry, pineapple, and guava. We concluded we like the donut shaped malasadas more, like Leonard's on Oahu. These were ok. Our curiosity satisfied. They offer food items too like mix plates but we had already eaten. This place seems off the beaten path, but all the locals frequent it.

She assured me these were made to order and, most importantly, not biscuits pretending to be malasadas. So far, we are winning! The location was easy to find, and on a Wednesday morning the line was minimal -- small kine wait. I ordered a dozen to share with our friends from Kentucky who had NEVER had a malasada before, so I was excited to introduce them to this deliciousness. First impression: these malasadas are HUGE. Like baseball-sized huge. And true to what I was told, they were made to order and came out piping hot! We ordered cinnamon and powdered sugar, which was new for me since I'm used to malasadas coated in granulated sugar. They were so hot that the powdered sugar immediately started melting into them. First bite? Not bad. Definitely NOT the biscuit like texture I experienced at another BI spot, so that was already a win. But they still didn't quite have that soft, pillowy texture I was hoping for. That being said, these were easily better than the other two malasada places we tried on the BI in the past. Our Kentucky friends, however, had absolutely no complaints. I'm pretty sure there were some squeals and happy dancing happening, so their first malasada experience was clearly a success. If you've never had a malasada before, this is definitely a good place to start. They're huge, made to order, served piping hot, and most importantly, not biscuit dense. Of the malasadas I've tried on the BI, these have definitely been the best. Oʻahu still holds my malasada heart, though. IYKYK.

Winter melon milk tea - sampled this flavor and also tasted smooth. You can taste the winter melon. Good as well. 4/5 stars Boba - chewy soft but not really sweet. 3/5 stars. It seems they struggle with the sweetness levels of their lemonades/iced teas but the milk teas is where they get it right. My advice- go less sweet on lemonades and more sweet on iced teas if possible. Otherwise avoid. Milk teas on point. Price is $4.99 per drink which is about average. Overall this place is a solid 3 stars until they fix their sweetness levels on all drinks.
