    Thai iced tea and Pho

One of the best, if not the best food we have had so far in Big Island!! We ordered Beef Pho and Pad Thai and they are so delicious and fresh!! Btw, you must try the Thai iced tea!

What a find thanks to Yelp! Delicious food. True local atmosphere. Great prices. Son is a picky eater, so he ordered fried chicken at LL next door, and we ate on the patio between both businesses. A shaved ice place is there too, but they weren't open yet. We were there before 11:00, though, so early for shaved ice. Just came from a disappointing Flumin adventure close by, so this lunch helped us feel better about that waste of time and money. Cute little Hawaiian town to eat lunch.

Discovered this place by accident while waiting for my order at L&L next door. What a find! I had the papaya salad and also the fresh summer rolls which were fantastic. Also got a scoop of chocolate ice cream which was also really good. She makes everything fresh in the back. Support these local businesses!

Chaba's is my favorite restaurant in North Kohala. She makes the food to order so it's always totally fresh. Delicious Thai food!

Be sure to watch for the sign as you approach - we drove by the first time and came back to make it into the parking lot. The person taking orders was helpful and warned us right away that they were out of curry. The person who makes it measures from her heart, won't share her recipe, and was out shopping. We shared the fried rice with chicken and some spring rolls. It was all so delicious, and fun to sit on the deck and watch the road and town while relaxing after the crazy road. My real praise starts a couple hours later. As we made it to our next stop, I remember that I had never taken my bag off the back of the chair back at the restaurant! I called as soon as we had a phone signal again, and the gentleman who answered the phone assured me right away that he'd seen it and was keeping it safe. I told him we'd be back for it the next day, and he told me what time he'd be there. Luckily for me, hubs drove back alone the next day (he loves the road, and it's more fun for him without me panicking from the passenger seat). The man at the restaurant said he'd tried to get our attention as we left, and again when we drove by after visiting the shore! I was so grateful to have my stuff back, and be able to board our plane the next day with my id. P.S. - the food and service was 5 stars even if they hadn't helped with my mix up later!

Easy to split, best spring rolls in my life. Outside seating , actually came by golf cart from the resort and walked back. There is a wait , very popular. Totally worth it. We had Pad Thai with chicken over glass noodles and vegetables.

As we found with our visit, despite the rundown look to some, it is definitely worth a stop. After perusing some of the other shops (grabbed some awesome baked coconut candy!) initially although Jen's food looked quite good, I was holding out to get my greasy spoon fix in at the shrimp truck back in Kahului. However, as we climbed into the car, the delicious smell emanating from the shack was just too much to overcome. So we climbed back out and grabbed some delicious shrimp pad Thai. As you can expect the operation is pretty no-frills. However, nothing helps to cap off a long day of winding through the Hana Highway like some greasy spoon Thai food. As for the food itself, it was pretty delicious and the shrimp were fresh and tasty. So take a stop at Jen's to stretch your legs and get your Thai fix in.

Although 'closed' Jen was so accommodating to me and 3 other couples/families that came after closing time. I haven't had pad Thai in Thailand (yet), growing up in Los Angeles eating in Thai town, Alhambra/Monterey park china towns, San Francisco/Manhattan china towns... I have to say this pad Thai was so delicious! It wasn't the ambience or fact that I was in vacation- my wife and I Jen's food was simply the best Thai cooking we've had in a while! Will definitely be back in the future trips!
